Once again, we are invited into Sunday’s world, as, alone, tired and sorely missing Cyrus, she is mysteriously drawn to Salt Lake City after having dreams that someone needs her protection. Mistakenly, she feels she is final free of the Pastophori, but is she? Will the power of arcane magic, entrap her, endangering the humans she now calls friends? The ley lines run thick and deep, limiting Sunday’s powers to protect hersrelf as she becomes a plaything for evil, against her wishes. Whee is Cyrus when she needs him? Why did she push him away when her heart wanted to cling to him?

Meanwhile, Cyrus is becoming almost tyrannical with his pack as he feels the pain of losing his mate. If not for the loyalty of his closest allies, Cyrus may go insane with grief. Will he ever find Sunday again?

Fierce battles, bloodshed and evil, it’s all in Trail of Dead by Cristy Rey as she spares nothing to pack her tale with everything from witches to werewolves, black magic and the innocence of unknowing humans at risk. Not for the faint of heart, these scenes feel real, they are dark and powerful as Ms. Rey takes beyond the mundane and into her world. Great characters, brave werewolves and evil villains, all want a piece of Sunday, but the only person she wants is Cyrus. Can he save her? Will he come?

Suspensful supernatural second chances! Sunday is on the run so that she can keep the people she loves safe. This is tearing Cyrus apart as they are destined to be together. All the while, Sunday is drawn to Salt Lake City. She finally feels free with no burdens of the Incarnate. But chaos erupts when the oracle and Sunday finally meet. Cyrus and the wolves come in to save Sunday with some unexpected help. The story, from start, will keep you wanting more. The bad guys always lurking around the corner, constantly trying to figure out who you can trust, the new characters breathe new life into the Incarnate story, and of course, the love story with Cyrus and Sunday. Witches, werewolves, and oracles... oh my! This story has everything!

Book 1 Taking Back Sunday had me falling in love with Christy Rey,then in book 2 it completely sealed the deal. She is quick with her wit and charm. This book is action packed from page 1 and had me quickly turning the page . The character development is sharp and spot on. I became so attached to Sunday and honestly thought at one point I would burst from anxiety.
This book is an action packed paranormal. This is a must read. I expect things big things from this author!

You have no idea how excited I was to receive an ARC of Trail of Dead… This gif might sum it up nicely!

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday… it seems like trouble just literally follows you around girl! Trail of Dead returns with Sunday still on the run after leaving Cyrus behind. She’s suddenly drawn toward Salt Lake City and finds a sliver of a normal life there. She’s made friends and began a healthy, non-overheating relationship with a normal guy. But, she should learn from her past dealings, nothing that easy can be all that good. She manages to escape one witchy cult only to fall prey to another extreme of the goddess cult witch following.

She still thinks and dreams about her times with Cyrus. She’s trying so hard to move on in her life, but he keeps creeping back into her mind. He’s her mate, and she just walked away from him. All she wants is a sense of normalcy and she holds so tightly onto it when she finds it.

Cyrus has been miserable and moody since Sunday left. Back in Alaska, his pack fears he’s turning full on wolf. Cyrus knows he has to track down Sunday again. He needs her in his life and he will stop at nothing to find her. She left him without a trace or trail to follow. Even when he knows it may be impossible, he sets off after her.

This book comes up to bat, and knocks that proverbial ball about 50 feet farther than Taking Back Sunday. Sunday solves some problem in her life only to fall in 10,000 more on the way. Trail of Dead will leave you happily content with the outcome of her latest problem and yet hungering for more resolution. Her relationship with Cyrus is rocky at best. I greatly look forward to the development of their relationship in the next book Wolf Parade which is set to be published in spring 2015. Now…what do I do until I can dive back into Sunday and Cyrus’ world again.....

Second Incarnate book will be out in September. It is completed top to bottom, and it will take everything to restrain myself from submitting it for publication and distribution until then. But I *will* be patient.

More Sunday. More Cyrus. And some new characters, including the notorious Pastophori of Iset. Cannot wait until you get to read it.

This is the third book I've read from Cristy Rey and I swear her writing gets better and better. This is the second book to the Incarnate Series and certainly not the last. I finished this book in just one sitting and immediately felt a sense of loss. I was in a serious book hangover and wanted more words to appear on my kindle.

I fell in love with Sunday's personality all over again. That girl is something fierce!! I absolutely adore her and love her badass personality. Cyrus is a force to be reckoned with; his character sort of snuck up on me...and I could feel myself getting attached to him. I could literally picture his face, his smell..his body..LOL!! And whoa!! talk about Marcus!!

I hate to give anything away, but all I can say is that you have to read this book! It's filled with non stop action, mind-blowing suspense, and brings you into a world full of wonder. It truly is a great read and I cannot wait for the next one in the series!!

Dark and Suspenseful

If you are not already on board with the Incarnate Series by Cristy Rey then hop on now and ready yourself for a fantastic dark urban fantasy read! Trail of Dead, book #2 in the series, pulses with arcane magic, violence, psychological torment and twisted evil, but it also explores the bonds of friendship, love and self-sacrifice.

After giving Cyrus the slip at the end of the previous novel, Sunday is again on the run, striving to come to terms with her powerful and oftentimes destructive powers. She is drawn to Salt Lake City, where a feeling of calmness descends upon her and she feels like she has a chance at normality. She makes friends with a woman called Deborah and embarks on a rewarding social life.

Nevertheless the Pastophori have set a trap for Sunday that she unknowingly all but sleepwalks into. This trap may not only cost Sunday her freedom and even her life but also that of an innocent teenager. The dark magic and madness of another, who has awaited the arrival of Sunday for a long time finally comes into play.

At the same time Cyrus, in Alaska with his pack, is sinking deeper into depression following Sunday’s desertion. Fearing what will happen if he is not reunited with Sunday and hearing that she is in danger, he once again seeks her out. Accompanied by fellow wolves Marcus and Angel, Cyrus soon picks up her scent. But will he be too late to save her from the trap and the fate that the Pastophori have in store for her? Will Sunday welcome him back? And above all will she remain with him? Their relationship is a complex one and they have much to come to terms with.

Once again I LOVED the characters in this novel. I really felt for Cyrus, the tortured alpha male werewolf, who cannot survive without his mate. He struggles with the knowledge that she left him, yet once he realises she is in danger NOTHING will keep him from saving her. I also enjoyed finding out more about Marcus and Angel and the new characters introduced in this novel. The members of the Pastophori are truly evil and I was on the edge of my seat hoping against hope that they did not realise their twisted objectives!

I emphasised with Sunday and was happy for her when she begins to live a normal life in Salt Lake City. Yet alarm bells began to ring as her sense of self as well as her powers begin to wane. Events conspire to work against her and people are not always what they seem. Sunday can only save herself and others if she can break free of the trap that has closed in around her and for once she cannot do this alone. I will not divulge any more of this awesome plot, but just urge you to give this highly original and entertaining series a go – you will not be disappointed!

I received a copy of this novel from the author for the purpose of a fair and honest review.

I love Cyrus in the first book but this book made me love him more. No matter how much Sunday pushed him away and wanted to be on her own he knew. He loved her and wanted to protect her but also give her space. This time her space lead her to a dangerous area one in which magical ley lines were used to muffle her abilities and ensnare her into a dangerous position. the proctors what pieces of work they are. When you first meet Dylan you think ahh so sweet and kind. Loving towards her. nothing bad with him right. Just wants to love right. Oh now that is a wolf in sheeps clothing. What a total egomaniacial douche like his dad and uncle. total control nut. He deserves anything he gets and than some let me tell you. The one I feel most for is Alex that poor kid he has no idea what is happening to him and yet he is still a sweet kid. Anger issues due to not knowing why he is having visions but still a good kid. His friend donna is the best. She to me is the real hero for she trust Cyrus and his friends to help her, finds out the answers she needs to help Alex and wants to take down the Proctors with Cyrus for what they did to Alex. She is and will be a force to be reckoned with when she grows into her own. Throughout the book you get the eerie sensation underlying the danger that is to come. You don’t know when it will happen but you know something is wrong. Christy Rey does a excellent job of building up the suspense. She has you feel safe and secure not thinking there is danger will robinson. that something just isn’t feeling right. You get to see Sunday feel like she is safe and normal that maybe her life can begin again. Although she misses Cyrus she feels like she can now be what she wants to. This is a good way to get the reader to feel secure and happy. And that is just what you feel but as you see the danger coming by the subtle signs Christy Rey puts out via Cyrus and his buddies anger towards each other, Alex etc you begin to feel on edge and yet don’t know what will happen. Like a Christopher Pike plot the subtle undertones are their just the build up leaves you standing on edge not knowing when it will finally play out but when it does strike oh boy it is heady. A great next book in the series that now lays out what is going on and the battle that is to be fought but still has you reeling with questions. I love cyrus and Sunday together but the new characters add some depth and intrigue to the story as well. Side note so happy to see that love between cyrus and sunday I hope they are together forever

If you’ve read my review of the first book in the series, Taking Back Sunday, or my review of author Cristy Rey’s Weeping Angels then you know that I have a bit of a girl crush on Cristy. If she keeps it up with the beautiful words that make up the intelligent and well-paced prose that she delivers to the masses for our enjoyment; I fear I may become her stalker. With each one of Cristy’s works, I love her more. She truly has a gift for words that make me sink into her books and not come up for air until I run out of pages. Trail of Dead is the second book in the Incarnate series and luckily not the last. I enjoyed this installment even more than the first. The beginning chapters had me trying to piece together a teenage boy’s dreams and troubles with a captivating prologue and the strange behavior of our heroine, Sunday. Throw a hot werewolf into the mix, especially one with a sexy beard, and I was stuck in a battle with myself. On one hand I wanted to read it as fast as I could to get answers and on the other I was dreading the ending when my wait would begin again for more of Sunday and Cyrus. Now, I am debating starting back at the beginning with Edge of Seventeen and rereading every word over again. This series is that good.
And the shocking part of this is that these books are Urban Fantasy. I am not usually that kind of girl. I’m a dirty girl who likes her dirty books, but Cristy Rey’s talent and the engaging storyline of the Incarnate series has me rethinking my genre preferences. I know that there are not that many writers with Cristy’s kind of talent and therein lies my hesitation. I want the quality and ingenuity that I get from a Cristy Rey book in more books. I’d probably branch out a lot more. But I digress. Trail of Dead was well done. All around. Not a single complaint. Cyrus tore into those who desperately deserved it and he is back in the presence of his mate. Their story is not over and the danger has not truly passed, but I have faith in Cyrus and Sunday. They got this. I just have to wait for Wolf Parade (the third book in the series) to come out and alleviate my withdrawals.

Oh man do I love this series!! :) Sunday's back on the run, from Cyrus, from the patophori, from herself. But she feels the need to get to Salt Lake City. She's having dreams to rescue a child. Her dreams freak me out. But then when she gets there it's like her powers went away and she's completely normal. She even made a friend and has a hot new boyfriend. She doesn't even remember Cyrus. Except the pastophori are there and they're making her come to them. Sunday doesn't even know what's really going on. She's so happy to be normal. All I'm gunna say is THANK YOU MARCUS AND CYRUS!! Marcus, because he won't let Cyrus die or go so far into depression without Sunday that he's willing to risk his life to save his best friend. And Cyrus, because he finally figured out that he can't live without he and he's gunna find her before those evil monsters do. Man, does he have a huge surprise coming to him :) and angel, along for the ride, makes me wanna hug him for being so cool!! The action and suspense is definitely out the roof in this one. I don't know if I've ever read a book this fast. I was dying to know what would happen. Especially when you start figuring out who each of these new people in Sunday's life really is. How her new friend, her new boyfriend, her new name, her new town, is all literally wrapped in a big bow around the same box of crazy. Dude, this is like a wonderfully plotted plan of evil years in the making. I was quite stunned how it all play out, but let me just say I literally cheered like my favorite team just won the damn Super Bowl at the end!!! Like YES!!!!!! The writing is flawless and I am loving the new additions of characters and supernatural creatures. Witches, werewolves, seers, the humans don't stand a chance to be this cool :) man I so don't wanna wait for book three but I'll just stalk the author until it comes out! And I wanna know what's gunna happen to dani and Deborah and our new friend in Deborah's son. :) it's getting real and the wolves are ready to howl! 5 MIND BLOWING PAWS!!

Cristy did and awesome job with this sequel and I can’t wait to read Wolf Parade!

In this book we still have Sunday, Cyrus, Angel, Marcus and Stephen. And Cristy introduces us to some new characters that I hope stay around for the next book! First we have Debbie a woman that owns a hair salon that Sunday becomes friends with, Alex Debbie’s 13 year old son and his friend Dani that is also 13 these characters I would like to see stay for awhile. We so got to meet a wolf pack from Utah and a witch that works with them that played a major role in this story too. ….. As far as the others that I will not mention the can done and gone for all I care lol!

It has been eight months since Sunday left Carolina leaving Cyrus behind. As she is driving with no particular place to go she is drawn to Salt Lake City Utah and decides to stop and check it out. For the first time in her life Sunday feels normal and free of any anxiety. She makes a friend with a lady that owns a hair salon and is set up on a blind date with her nephew and forms a non overheating relationship with him. But she keeps having reoccurring dreams of her time Cyrus, she knows he is her mate but till chose to walk away.

Cyrus on the other hand is going crazy not knowing where Sunday is. He is fighting to control his humanity and not let the wolf take over because then he would be lost forever with no humanity left. He is hell bent on finding her and goes through the pack leader Stephan to get in contact with The Pastophori of Iset the ones that originally wanted Sunday. So Cyrus, Marcos and Angel set out to Salt Lake City to the main hub of The Pastophori of Islet. This is where thing start to get hairy no pun intended lol! The wolves sense a magical presence in the air and they do not like it.

This is where I leave you to pick up a copy for yourself and see what happens!

*I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*

Well, after binge reading the first book and this one in only two days, I can definitely say that I love this series! It's a whole new twist on the paranormal stories that we're all used to. Sunday is the Incarnate, which basically means that she is an ultra powerful badass. It also means that there are other people constantly after her because of the aforementioned badassery. So basically, being the Incarnate is no fun. She has all these crazy powers, but little control over them, and is constantly fighting against a destiny she doesn't want. Enter Cyrus (commence swooning). He's her mate. Her werewolf mate who has some anger issues, but his devotion and physique more than make up for it. At the end of the first book, Sunday runs from Cyrus to, once again, pursue a somewhat normal life. Which, once again, fails miserably. I didn't think I could love Cyrus any more, but this book proved me wrong. The agony he goes through in Sundays absence is heart breaking. Sunday, on the other hand, kind of pissed me off in this one. Because of reasons. (Grrr) But, I guess I do understand where she's coming from... I just... I just want her and Cyrus to be happy and together and have lots of witchy-werewolf babies and live in a house made of candy and rainbows IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK???

Apparently. *sigh*

In closing, this series is only getting better. The plot is fast paced and unexpected. The new characters in this one were interesting and diverse. The main characters continue to develop, and are killing me slowly, but in the best way. <3 I definitely recommend it and I'll be eagerly awaiting the next one (fingers crossed for that candy house guys, fingers crossed...).

I would like to thank Cristy Rey and Everything Marie Tours for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

When we meet up again with Sunday, it's months since left Cyrus and she still misses him everyday. Sunday starts to have dreams of a little boy she needs to help and protect, for some reason she is drawn to Salt Lake City.

Cyrus himself is a mess, he is magazine but getting worse by the day (lots of hot males here), not to mention Marcus and Angel. Marcus is determind to reunite Cyrus and Sunday.

Again there are plenty of witches, a crazed sect, a prophet and werewolves galore.

I do like Sunday but my heart as always is with the hot men of the book the werewolves. I felt sorry for Alex, Dani, Lesley and Deborah for being dragged into all this. Dani however was really brave and put herself out for her friend Alex.

I loved the fight scenes in this book, in sure I've said this before but if you like fantasy books with witches and werewolves that aren't too long I would suggest this. I did enjoy the book but there are others I have enjoyed far more, having said that I like to know where a series goes so will look out for the 3rd one in this series.

OK wow. Loved it. The author did an amazing job with this story just like with the first one I couldn't get enough. I do have to say I loved the some what happy ending this time around. It was still left with a mild cliffhanger but I can get over that; see if left me with enough to hold me off, that is until I can read book 3. I'm telling you the author has done a really great job. The writing was wonderful the story was more eye catching and held you into it. There was a lot to take in this time around, more of what was happening around and with the characters in stead of you meeting the characters and getting a glimpse of what's going to happen.

I was fortunate to be able to read this one right after finishing the first book. I loved the first one and was eager to see what happened next. I find the plot real intriguing and smart but hate to admit that I didn't care for what it did to Sunday. But it all made sense and was necessary. It was just difficult to see someone that strong like that. Cristy wove a nice web entangling me in it and solving it in a unique way. This is a great preternatural love story.

Cristy is a great author and has a way with words that seems effortless and keeps you reading, even when it is time to go to bed, "just a few more pages" ....

Fantastic read. I look forward to the next one in this series. Keep it up.

I have received this book from the author for an honest review.

I am giving this review for author Christy Rey. This is Incarnate Series Book 2 from the author. It is best to read this series in order because where book 1 leaves off book 2 starts.

Sunday has been running for what seems like forever when she finds herself coming to a place that might be the end of her journey. Cyrus is on the verge of loosing himself with out Sunday but he has to find Sunday before she falls into the hand of the Pastophori of Iset.

I really liked the interaction of the characters and how you could feel the conflict with in them. There were a couple places that the flow of the story dragged a little but all in all it was a really good read.

This is a great paranormal romance and 1 that will be a good addition to any library.

We lean that Sunday is linked by blood to the chosen child of the Pastophori of Iset a coven begun by Bernadette who raised Sunny, but who will rise to power under the guidance of Ingrid. Sunny must find and protect the child in her visions or face the consequences of her failure. Lucky for her Cyrus and Angel are willing to help if they can just figure out where to start. A fast paced page turner that keeps you guessing. Sunny is once again forced to confront her magic past and do the right thing even though all she really wants is to be normal, but for Sunny that is just not in the cards.

A book that kept me on the edge of my seat for most of the three day read. If I hadn't had work to do, I would have finished it on the second day it was so captivating. You followed every word, every description; "which was very well pros-ed" and I have recommended this whole series to several friends successfully so far. I am now reading the second one of that series with equal enthusiasm.
