Roman Evgenija Zamjatina "My" (1921) - pervaja antiutopija XX veka, perevedennaja na mnogie jazyki, no na rodine pisatelja opublikovannaja lish v 1988 godu, spustja neskolko desjatkov let posle sozdanija. Geroj romana "My" - matematik i inzhener - zhivet v gigantskom gorode-gosudarstve, otdelennom stenoj ot vneshnego mira. Emu kazhetsja, chto vse zdes ustroeno pravilno i ljudi vmesto imen imejut nomera, nosjat odinakovuju odezhdu, ikh zhizn strogo reglamentirovana. No postepenno geroj nachinaet ponimat, chto v etom idealno ustroennom obschestve net mesta svobode i ljubvi.

DAMN what a interesting and mainly scary read, but not in the way u may think.
the scary part isn't in some serial killer vibe or world destruction (well technically it is haha) or maybe some jump scares, ITS ABOUT THE WORDLS CLASS MANIPULATION. the way people go with the mass, with the "most" and with the "biggest" "greatest" person and the way "emotions get in the way of logical thinking" ...and damn Zamjatina really delivered that. I was scared to such a extend, bcs since this book is wrote like a diary, how could ppl that follow such a leader ship think. AND A HUGE PLUS ZAMJATIN WAS A MATHEMATIC (or physic of some sort) so the main character, D-503, thinks like one AND OH BOY HOW I LOVED THAT, he often portrays emotion he feels with mathematic functions, problems and ect. dude that was epic.
