“Why are stories about black lesbians so hard to find?” Ty Robbins says in her intro. “Where are all the black lesbian romance stories?”
They’re all here in this short story compilation!
I was surprised this book is not a novel, but a compilation of many similar short stories. They’re like 15 pages each and all have different, unconnected characters who meet and fall in—And out—of love. Life is messy. Everyone is different.
What I like most about this book is how relatable the characters are. Some are skinny and some are fat. There’s a diverse age range. There’s a couple really blunt main characters who are chill af and just trying to find a mentally stable date in New York City.
This book is a great addition to any sapphic shelf <3
A big handful of these stories I really enjoyed. Different situations, different views and some relatable. I liked how each story could be something that happens in reality. To give people who go through this a bit of advice and an outcome that could possibly happen. Some spicy ones in here and I enjoyed it. Not my typical spice but it was still nice. Overall, an enjoyable read!
These were some of the best short stories I have read in a long time. They were sexy and deep. The different relationships made me think about my past relationships and how they don’t always work out. You have to know when to move on or let go. It’s not always easy.
Amazing collection stories of Black lesbians in NYC. There is a lot of sex scenes that would keep anyone warm and steamy. The characters are likable and fun with a lot of personality and style.
These were some of the best short stories I’ve read in ages. You have to master the art of moving on or letting go, like a pro escape artist. And trust me, it’s never a walk in the park.
