Deadly Consequences is Book 4 in The Vaccaro Empire and what a story full of roller coaster of emotions, danger, drama, secrets but hold on....the chemistry and amount of steam...on fire and sexy. I love the world that Anise creates with her dark mafia romance and I am all in.
Mafia princess, Winnie, is finally enjoying some freedom to pursue a business degree and not being under the microscope of her protective father....although he is a King of Organized Crime. Being immersed into a world of lust and the chance encounter of meeting Bas...the chemistry ignites instantly....also including Bas' twin, Cris. When secrets are revealed and truths come into play... unknowing that Winnie made a choice that ultimately put her in extreme danger. Will Bas and Cris be able to help Winnie when she needs them them the most expecially after finally coming to realize there is more to this game then just a good time...

I always enjoy reading books by this author and delving into the different series and characters that she writes. This one is no exception.
Our FMC Winnie is the daughter of a mafia Don, having lost her mother and sister. She has a strong relationship with her father, however he is very protective over her and wants to keep her sheltered, for she is the last of his legacy, a legacy she is destined to take over, but before she does, she convinces her father to let her complete her education and he does.
Winnie has enjoyed her independence. Now, it's time to return home to the family business.
Winnie is a sexual being. She is comfortable with her sexuality and is not shy about being vocal about what it is that she wants and needs. A night out with her best friend to an exclusive nightclub, a tryst with a hot sinful man, sets her and him on a path, neither could foresee.
Bas and Cris are identical twin brothers. They love each other fiercely. They have everything they could desire, money, fast cars, and women. All they want to do is prove to their father that they're worthy of his loyalty and respect, yet their games and Playboy ways leave much to be desired.
Because the game they're playing with Winnie is pulling them both in different directions, what they have with her is not like what they have had with other women before. She is doing something to them, causing them to act out, lie to each other, she is changing them, and these feelings that they're experiencing with her, they don't want to let go.
Winnie, Bas, and Cris, they're on a first name basis because all three harbour truths about who a what they are to their families. What they don't realise is there father's have entered into a business arrangement, if they're not careful it could blow up in their faces.
And Bas and Cris now have to come clean with Winnie because they've fallen for her, and when they reveal the truth to her, she is shocked at first, not believing that they've deceived her, they definitely had her fooled, but she can't help but be wanted and desired by both of them, yet when all is said and done, she steps back, reconciling what this means for all of them, because whilst they started this game, she intends to finish it.
Because the height of pleasure by these two gives her such a rush, Winnie goes in search of the person that can give her the high she needs, but she finds herself in a precarious situation.
This is where Bas and Cris learn that Winnie is none other than Winona Moretti, the daughter of Francesco Moretti, and their father's business partner. When they learn Winnie is missing, Francesco believe they're responsible for her disappearance, as does their own father.
Their father is done with their antics, and this latest blow, despite telling the truth, gets them disowned. They're both on their own without the comforts they're used to, to find Winnie, they turn to their sisters and friends. Discreet is the game because to bring home the woman they both love, they have to play close to the vest and stay off both Francesco and their father's radar, because if they're caught, it will cost them their lives.
What Winnie goes through, it changes her. The victims she meets, she does what she can to help them through the trauma, despite her own and when Bas and Cris find her, the relief they feel, having her in there arms again, is overshadowed by what awaits them back home.
Winnie is now safe, back home with her father, but not by choice. Having had all her belongings shipped back home. Her father wants her safe and protected, but she is feeling suffocated with the increase in security.
She is going out of her skin, the feeling of not having Bas and Cris, has her missing them, feeling on edge. But her world is turned upside down when she learns her father is on his death bed, with not long left to live he shares with his daughter a truth that has her seeing her father in a different light, the betrayal against her mother stinging. But Winnie must reconcile with the reality of her future one that doesn't include her father.
And in the blink of an eye, Winona goes from a princess to a queen, stepping into the role that she was born for, and with Bas and Cris by her side, she knows that she is capable of anything.
Those smexy scenes were downright steamy, spicy, sinfully dirty, wickedly filthy, deliciously depraved and hot because Winnie is a siren, and her song calls to Bas and Cris. The pain and pleasure they derive from each other is unparalleled because when they're all on the same page, their love and passion are igniting and nothing and no one will come between what they have, because Winnie is it for them.
I can't wait to read what this author writes next.

Book 4 in the series however it could very much be read as a stand alone!

Winnie meets Bas, the owner of a club, while out with her best friend one night. Thinking this would be a one night stand she quickly realizes she wants more.
Bas and Cris, who are identical twins, have been slowly gaining more trust within their father’s organization. However in their free time they play mind games with women constantly and Winnie is unknowingly falling into their trap. However they quickly realize they feel the same as Winnie in regard to their feelings.
After some secrets are revealed Winnie comes to a decision out before she can make it to the club Bas and Cris owns she is kidnapped leaving to a huge issue amount Winnie’s family and Bas and Cris’s.
Will they be able to find Winnie? Will Bas and Cris be able to get back on good terms with their father?

Deadly Consequences is the 4th book in The Vaccaro series, but I was surprised to find that this book could be very easily read as a standalone. This was a very pleasant surprise.
Winnie is your typical mafia princess who is ready to take over from her father and take her place as Mafia Queen. She has always lived under close security, but she made a deal with her father, and in keeping the deal, she was able to attend school in Barcelona.
One night she goes out with her best friend and together they go to the club where Winnie meets Bas the owner of the club. She ends up having a one night stand with Bas, and this makes Winnie realize that she wants more out of life.
Bas and Cris, identical twins have been working their way up in their own fathers organization and gaining the trust of his men. But, in their free time, they like to play mind games with women that they spend the night with. Winnie, unwittingly, falls into their game. Too quickly, though, Bas and Cris realize that Winnie is different, and they actually feel the same way for Winnie that she feels for them.
Secrets are quickly revealed, and before Winnine knows it, she's made a decision and runs out on Bas and Cris. On her way out of the club, she is grabbed by persons unknown before she can even get out of the club. This leaves massive issues for not only Winnie's family but also for Bas and Cris's family.
I can't recommend this book enough. It is a roller-coaster of emotions. I loved everything about this book and the character creation, the angst, the tension, the unknown. It's just incredible.
If you love contemporary Reverse Harem Romance with MFM, then this is your kind of book. I absolutely loved it. I can't recommend this book enough.

Cristiano and Bastiano—Cris and Bas—are identical twins and the only sons of ruthless mob boss, Nazario Vaccaro. At first, I thought this story was going to lean more into the classic “twin switch” trope with pranks, mistaken identities, and a bit of harmless chaos. But oh no, these two take deception to a whole new level, and it’s anything but amusing. Their little “game” of swapping places to seduce unsuspecting women isn’t just cruel, it’s downright disturbing. Plus, the fact they truly thought they weren’t hurting anyone, justifying it with a flippant “We broke a few hearts or spirits, but otherwise, the females all walked away unscathed”? Are you kidding me? Did they really believe the women they manipulated, tricked, and slept with weren’t emotionally wrecked by the betrayal? Because let’s be real, that’s not just a bad breakup, that’s an absolute violation of trust. Then along comes Winnie, and at first, she’s just another pawn in their twisted game. But surprise, surprise, she’s not like the others. Although they are unaware of her true identity, the brothers catch feelings, and suddenly, the rules have changed. Now, I love a strong heroine, but I was not a fan of how Winnie handled the truth when they dropped it on her mid-air (because yes, they literally trapped her on their private plane to confess their deceit—so romantic, right?). Instead of fury, betrayal, or even a well-placed slap, she was mostly just... horny? Sure, there’s some initial resistance, but for someone who’s supposedly smart and independent, she sure caved fast. And then, of course, there’s the kidnapping. As a mafia princess, Winnie should have had at least some street smarts, yet she walked right into the trap like she’d never seen a true crime documentary in her life. The climax felt rushed, with just a few too many coincidences that seemed timed to rescue Winnie right in the nick of time. Overall, the story kept me turning pages, but I had a hard time rooting for anyone. Cris and Bas were morally bankrupt charmers who never really faced the consequences of their actions, while Winnie’s choices left me frustrated. If you’re into morally gray characters and mafia-style drama, this might be worth a read—but don’t expect any groveling or a redemption arc that’s truly satisfying.

Winnie has been protected and sheltered for all her life but before she stands by her father's side to run the Family, so she asks if she can go away to college on her own and be a normal teenager for a couple of years. So, two years later and she is in Barcelona living her life, going to University until one night she meets him, Bas and then her whole world is turned upside down.
Cristiano and Bastiano twins a dangerous mafia family determined to show their father that they are not the screw ups he believes them to be, managing the club and drugs network in Spain was a big responsibility but they share more than genes they share everything. When Cris is away on business, Bas discovers her, the beauty with blonde hair and the attraction is so strong Bas can't do anything but go with it.
Bas tells Cris about Winnie and that they could do there favourite past time share her but without her knowing as they as happy to share and Winnie is getting both worlds but she does not know. So when there father calls and announces an alliance with another family to there shock she is not just any women she is the daughter of the new alliance's Don.
What will happen to there fun as both brothers are becoming attached to her but they are struggling between family and love.
This is the third book in this series and omg it hits the nerves and feels. At first reading Cris and Bas you get the pictures of players and just out for a good time but when they meet Winnie they change and become lovable rogues.
Winnie although seems soft and weak is anything but that, her history within the mafia has made her hard but when she discovers these two faithful mean she is determined to push the boundaries and have what she wants. You get insight into the other stories which have already taken place and this can be read as a stand alone book. Although I would recommend this series but not only this series Anise Storm writes stories which draw you in to the world and keep you there and spits you out with your emotions shattered (but in a good way).
I can't wait to read the next book in this series and other books by this wonderful author.

Although I would recommend this series but not only this series Anise Storm writes stories which draw you in to the world and keep you there and spits you out with your emotions shattered (but in a good way).
I can't wait to read the next book in this series and other books by this wonderful author.

Winnie is in Barcelona for school. Somehow she is there and free to do what she wants. She meets Bas at a club called Ecstasy. She ends up having one crazy, steamy night in his office with him and also learns that Bas owns club. BAs has no idea she’s a Mafia princess and she has no idea who / what he is either.
Bas usually gets together with his twin brother Cris and messes with girls heads. They take turns until they are done with them and finally let them know they were duped. Bas wishes his brother was in town to have a shot with Winnie but he’s away taking care of business.
Winnie and Bas leave an impression on eachother and what was supposed to be a one night stand, ends up to be more. Now with Cris back In town, Bas has Winnie come to their penthouse but when she gets there, Bas won’t be there….Only Cris will be. Winnie has no idea it’s not the same guy. At one point during their steamy night, Cris leave the bed and Bas returns.
Both men start to have real feelings for Winnie and try to see her behind the others back until they get into an argument over it. They are twins with the strongest bond ever. They have done this numerous times and they can’t let a girl come between them. They decide to tell her the truth and make her see that 2 men at once is better than one.
At first Winnie is annoyed and upset but she also realizes how turned on it makes her.
Winnie decides she’s has enough and was about to tell the twins she was done with them and their games but, she gets kidnapped and her father blames the Vaccaro Boys. Their own father blames them too.
The twins are left with no money, no club, no father, no penthouse and an order is out for them to be found. Funny thing is, if they all never met eachother, I could’ve seen Winnie being promised to one of the twins in an arranged marriage type of thing. Bas and Cris decide they have to find Winnie because, no one believes they had nothing to do with it and because they both love her.

I enjoy this series alot. And this book is the next installment in The Vaccaro Series. This one features the twins Bas & Cris and the games they like to play. And we all know games have consequences, have they officially gone too far?

Thinking Winnie is the next sacrifice for them to entertain themselves, they were never prepared for the outcome. She’s different, Bas knows it. So does Cris in his own way. The last chapter of the Vaccaro family but definitely not the least. Anise Storm has a way of holding me captive page after page and leaves me in withdrawal when it ends. I have loved reading about the Vaccaro cast of characters and their obsessions. Definitely a darker theme so mind the triggers before starting.
Winnie is a fiery, gorgeous, no holds barred mafia princess finishing her master's degree in Barcelona away from her father and family home. Poised to take over the reigns after graduation, she is enjoying her freedom to party it up and do as she pleases before becoming the head of the Moretti family empire. A wild night takes her to a new high end club and this is where she meets Bas. A night of passion leaves them both wanting more, but Bas has secrets. The biggeset is that he has an identical twin who he shares absolutely everything with...and I do mean everything. Winnie does not know he is a Vaccaro and Bas and Cris have no idea she is the sole child of Franc Moretti, but no last names doesn't keep them from connecting. And their connection is hotter than the sun.
Spicy and sexy mixed with danger, mystery, and betrayal makes for the perfect read. I loved these characters and that we get the perspective from all three. There is also a part near the end that had me in tears, so my emotions were all over the place. I had a very hard time putting this down. There is also closure from a previous book which was amazing...but I don't want to spoil it here.
This could technically be read as a stand alone but would not recommend it as knowing the stories of the rest of the family is important for understanding and enjoying this one. I highly recommend this book as well as the whole series.

This is book four in The Vaccaro Empire Collection Series and it is Winnie, Cris and Bas story. Winnie is a mafia princess and she is also smart, tough, sassy and the daughter of the most powerful man in organised crime and she will soon take over her father’s role and throne at the top but when she is betrayed by the man that she thought would rule beside her everything in her life changed. Cris and Bas story were the only sons and heir to the Vaccaro Throne when the time came and they also shared everything including women so when they met Winnie they had no idea who she was until it was too late and they had developed feelings for her and the chemistry between them all is off the charts hot and explosive and because she has become so important to both of them they will both now need to decide what to do next without causing chaos or complications. When Winnie is kidnapped and everything points to Cris and BAs they realise that it will be a race against time to find her and bring her home so that they can also not only clear their names but also have the happiness and future with her that they both want and deserve. There are twists and turns along with danger, suspense, drama, great characters, betrayal, action and scenes that will have you turning the pages because you are unable to put this book down as you need to see what happens next and also what the outcome will be for them all in the end. This story was so engaging and kept your attention throughout and I can’t wait to read more books in the future.

As twins they shared everything including women. And that doesn't change when Bas meets Winona. However things gets tricky when both brother decide that they are developing deeper feelings for her. How will Winona react when she discovers their secret scheme and how they have been using her?
But Winona isn't as innocent as she seems, she has secrets of her own.

This was something else! First and foremost, please heed those triggers. They are put there for a reason. There are elements of this story that aren't my thing, but I already knew this going into the story. This is a full read and these characters are sensual as heck. There is steam all over the place. The characters despite the topic are likable and this was a exciting story.
She found pleasure with a man. But it turned out that she was duped. For he had a twin. They both used her and in doing so, realized that they wanted more and more from her. And she'd already fallen for them.
When these twins screw up, the did it BIG. They didn't know that she was a mafia princess and wow, their father did what was necessary! He made a sound decision and forced these twins to grow up a bit. Of course, they are so lucky they have more siblings to count on! They really did care and I actually believe in their connection to her, as she wished for them in her time of need. There are some happy surprises out of the scary situation that she ended up in. I was so happy at a certain outcome. I absolutely loved that my favorite sister and brother in law were so involved because they are my favorite pairing in this series. Well written, exciting, super sexy amid very disturbing situations and habits. Never a dull moment!

I Could Not Stop Reading, Even For Bed! Go Read This Book/Series!!!
I seriously have not found a single book by Anise Storms that I haven’t loved, and this one is no different!!! This magical book is number 4 in a series; however, I had no issues reading and understanding this book as a standalone because I haven’t read the first 3 books. I do plan to go back and read them now though because I absolutely devoted this book. It has mystery, intrigue, romance, spice, and so much more. I would consider this one more on the smutty side, but the plot is definitely there! Winnie is the princess, and she is devastatingly brave, brilliant, and very beautiful. She has strength in the face of adversity and I admire her spunk and fire. Enter Bas and Cris, OMG!!! They may be hot, but there is so much more. I do wish that they had been painted in a way that would have made them seem a bit stronger, but I also see why they were written in the way they were. There are several side plots and the minor characters definitely play a big role in parts of this story. I don’t want to ruin this for other readers, so I’m not going to go into any further details. I want you to go and read this one for yourself and have all the wonderful experiences that I had while reading this! It is amazing and I really hope y’all enjoy it as much as I did!

Deadly Consequences is a story of a mafia princess named Winnie who tries to seek out her independence before becoming the head of the family. She convinces her father to let her go to Barcelona to study. It is in Barcelona that she discovers her freedom, capabilities, and the fun she never had before. In her “excursions” she meets a man named Bas. Bas has a twin named Cris and they run a nightclub and have a powerful family too. Bas and Cris like to play mind games with women and Winnie is the next target. Winnie is all about this man and thinks it will just be fun and games until both start to catch feelings. When this begins, they each still have no idea who the other is. When the games come out, Winnie has to decide the future of the relationship. The story takes an unfortunate turn for all parties in this decision process. Can they figure out how to build a life together with all the circumstances that surround the families?
If you like smutty, why choose, mafia-style stories, you will like this book. I would say this book had more smut than story, but there was a plot. I enjoyed the characters and the fast past at which the story moved. I enjoy most of this author’s writing due to the lack of bullshit that is included - she is straight to the point with good smut throughout.

Another gripping dark mafia romance in this enjoyable and engaging series. Winona is the daughter of the most powerful man in Calabria and organised crime is in her blood. She’s about to dethrone her father and take her rightful place at the top when she gets distracted by Cristiano and Bastiano, the Vaccaro twins. Cris and Bas are the son’s of Nazario Vaccaro and are heirs to his throne. Staying in Spain and expanding the family empire seemed simple until they take their usual games with women too far. Used to sharing everything, including women the twins and Winnie have a dangerous and passionate affair. However, just as they realise they are actually in love with her she goes missing and Cris and Bas find out who she really is. Having learned that Winnie is in fact a mafia princess they are determined to find her, but her father has them as his prime suspects in her disappearance. All three are in danger as Winnie is kidnapped and the twins look for her knowing that they may pay with their lives if she’s not found. I was hooked throughout by this captivating mafia romance. The chemistry between Winnie, Cris and Bas sizzled off the page leading to some steamy scenes. The exciting storyline, plot twists and realistic characters kept me happily turning the pages. It had plenty of drama, suspense and of course romance.

The story centers around Winnie, a mafia princess who lives a life that is very closely monitored. One day she will be ready to take over her father's business but until then she wants to get out from under the microscopic eye of her father. Winnie makes a deal with her father to allow her to move to Barcelona to attend school. While out at a club one night she meets Bas and has a one-night stand with him. Unbeknownst to her Bas and his twin brother named Cris like to play twisted mind games on women and Winnie is their newest prey. Winnie quickly realizes that a one-night stand is not enough and that she has developed feelings for Bas. Both Bas and Cris have also realized that they have developed feelings for Winnie. They know they must reveal the secrets that they are concealing but before they get a chance to do so Winnie is kidnapped. Her choice has now put her in danger, and it is up to Bas and Cris to find her. This story is raw, dark, and full of danger. The characters are complex, dangerous, sexy, smart, and morally corrupt. Oh, and I must mention that I am absolutely in love with the stunning cover design! Looking forward to the next book by this author!

This is the 4th book in the series and you can read it before the other but I highly recommend that you read the series in order. It just adds more to the book to have a more in depth knowledge of what is going on. This book was amazing. I didn't move from where I was sitting the whole time I read the book. Ok that is a lie. I did stand up and sit back down and then I did throw my arms around in the air. I really had a visceral reaction to this book. Which, I feel, is the best kind of reaction to have to a book. It is a very quick read because you find yourself trying to read faster so you can turn the page quicker and you can figure out what is going on. This book has its twists and turn that I didn't expect. Also, if you go into this thinking it will be like your typical MFM trope, you will be mistaken. It is anything but your typical trope. The twists and turn plus the steam that seems to burn the pages will have you on the edge of your seat. I am generally a fan of this author but this book is their best one yet. I feel like a broken record when I say that but it is true with this author. The more they seem to write the better the books seem to get. I can't wait to read what is next.

Winnie: mafia princess who made an agreement with her father. She was allowed to go to a school in Spain without guards to study business courses and when she returned she would take over for her father like he wanted. She is a baddie who isn't afraid to take charge and voice what she wants.
Bas/Cris: twin brothers who share women without them realizing it. They played games with the women and then would toss them to the side. Until Winnie that is.
This book is fast paced, like VERY fast paced, and I am not complaining AT ALL.
After meeting Bas at a club, Winnie quickly became addicted to him. Just like always Bas and Cris played their games with Winnie but then both men started to grow feelings for her.
When Winnie decides she wants to end things with the two men that is when things go south. A lot of stuff happens and it's a whirlwind of a story and it had me unable to put the book down needing to know what happened.

The Moretti Family’s only daughter Winona a mafia princess, wants the have a normal college experience, along with anonymity and strikes a deal with her “Don” father, Francesco. NO bodyguards and upon her return she’ll take over the family.
In comes the plot twist identical twin brothers Cristiano and Bastiano, whom happen to be from the Vacarro family, and are mafia prince’s.
Bas meets Winnie one night in Club Ecstasy and are drawn together like two magnets. On this night ecstasy is had by both that could peel the pain off the walls from all the steam.
Unbeknownst to Winnie the next time they hookup up, Cris has swapped places with Bas. The swapping continues to happen with Winnie none the wiser, that is until they each developed feelings for her and come clean.
After that all heck breaks loose when her father finds out. Francesco’s men are on the hunt for all of them. Winnie’s life has been stripped of everything and needs to make decisions . . . or does she.
This story was well crafted and held my attention page after page. Highly recommend this story.

This is the fourth in the Vaccaro Empire series and this gives us the story of Identical twins Bas and Cris Vaccaro are in Spain running the Ecstasy nightclub and trying to earn their father’s appreciation while they build up the business and eventually take over the family business. He still has doubts about them because they still have their childish behaviour of sleeping with the same woman and tricking her until later owning up to the woman. They always shared everything, that was until Winnie!

This is a series that I have enjoyed reading from the first book. This is the fourth book in this series which is just as great as the previous books. I highly suggest reading the previous books to help your enjoyment of this series as well as this author’s writing skills. This is a well written story about Winona, Cristiano, and Bastiano. Cristiano and Bastiano are heirs to the throne and share everything including women. Winona is about to dethrone her father’s empire until she is faced with a double distraction. When things are taken too far, lives become in danger. What happens with these three you don’t want to miss. They are great characters that are connectable and full of spice. They have great chemistry as well as an attraction that heats up the pages. I enjoyed watching their growth from the start which made the story easy to read. There is some suspense in this story as well as romance that makes it entertaining to read. This is a fast paced, engaging, hard to put down story. I really enjoyed reading this book and these characters. I highly recommend this book

One thing better than a possessive, rich, mafia prince with high sexual stamina? Two of them, and twins with hot bodies and tastes for things on the rougher side too! The guys, Cris and Bas, are pampered, but they have competition for what should be their birthright against those who aren’t even blood. Winnie has lived a sheltered life and asks her father for just a few years to live with more freedom before taking over their family empire. A walk on the wilder side is exactly what she gets when entangled with these men and their mind games. All three of them keep secrets from each other, causing lives to be at risk, and empire loyalties come before blood loyalty. They are all in a steady state of horny and waste 0.0 seconds before acting on it multiple times. There are many, many sex scenes and the two men know how to work well together for her benefit. Characters from the previous books are interwoven, but not required to read to understand the dynamics. Experiences breed maturity and this group has no small out of those in this story.

It is a darker romantic suspense story – a MFM mafia romance with violence, danger, dramatic developments, secrets, lies, deception, betrayal, family, duty, responsibility, legacy, intrigue, angst, sizzle, mystery, a race against time, and a touch of obsession. The story comes with trigger warnings- so if you have any issues with dubcon, violence, noncon etc- then you should read the warnings before diving in.
Identical twins who like to share everything end up getting more than they bargained for when their hijinks backfire in unexpected ways.
The jury is still out on Bas and Chris- as I really struggled to ‘like’ them and the ‘games’ they liked to play. They really made it difficult for me to fully invest in the story -- but this is just my opinion -- so if you like MFM, mafia romance, and spice all mixed with suspense, danger, and intrigue- then you should probably grab a copy and decide for yourself.

Bastiano and Cristiano Vaccarro are heirs to their fathers empire. They are very used to sharing things and even swap places with each other. When they meet Winona Moretti they do their usual game of swapping but eventually catch feelings for her. Collectively they decide to tell her the truth and of course she is hurt. She must make up her mind and decide whether or not she wants to be a part of their games. She finally makes up her mind to let them know they can move on without her she disappears. While the boys set out to search for her they uncover her true identity, but they also become the number one suspects in her fathers eyes. Can they bring Winona home safely? Once she's back will she even want anything to do with them? Will their father's allow a romance to contine and become one big happy family or will they break them up? This author sure knows how to draw her readers in. We are taken on twists and turns with plenty of drama and danger. While this book can be read on its own I suggest reading the others in the series as well.
