Onyx has every reason to hate humans who invade his land. They kill for sport and leave pollution and destruction wherever they go.
But the woman who comes to the abandoned cabin by the lake is different. She moves reverently through nature, blending in— although she certainly stands out to him. Could it be that for the first time, Onyx sees a human that is not a monster?
Dr. Kyra Ludwig will do anything to preserve an endangered species of birds. Living among them in a remote mountain cabin is a small price to pay if she can figure out why a vulnerable species is suddenly thriving. When she discovers the secret, it’s not one she can share with the scientific community. Onyx, a yeti-like creature, is protecting the mountain and all of its creatures. Although he initially terrifies her, it’s not long before she can see how much they have in common and how beautiful he is.
Can the two nature lovers become actual lovers, even though they’ve been conditioned to think of one another as monsters?
This was a cute pallet cleanser with a splash of spice. I’m surprised I was captivated by it being a Big Foot Monster Romance.
It was short and fast paced and helped me get out of a physical/ebook reading slump. The characters are loveable and their banter is cute.
The only reason I gave this 3 stars instead of 4, is because I REALLY did not like the names the author gave the female and male parts….Ive never heard of a woman’s part being referred to as “puffy nether lips” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 that threw me waaaay off. But other than that I really enjoyed it!

I want my own Mountain Bound guy, and you will too, after you read this quick, spicy tale. Our MCs are Kyra and Onyx. Kyra is a scientist with a heart for preservation and Onyx is, well, a Bigfoot, who preserves nature. Kyra ends up in his neck of the woods and they start a begrudging friendship that leads to more. This is cute and quick and has a happily ever after that works out for both main characters (no one's sacrificing their career to be barefoot and preggo around the cave!)

Tell me why the commentary on how people are African decent are just as good as white people felt like blatant pandering and somehow also racist. And then to be compared to how abdominal snowmen are just as good as big foot? Barf.
Also. They end up together kinda but living in different worlds hours apart. And I’m sorry but I don’t read a big foot romance and not expect a breeding kink. At least a primal. NOTHING? That was rude.

Dr Kayra Goodwin, is a loner, and respected scientist who goes to the mountains to study a specific bird. She hopes to get scientific recognition for her observation. She is alone doing her research and realises that she is really enjoying it. Mountain Bound Onyx, sees the human and worries that she might hurt the environment just like all humans he has observed.
Mountain Bound by S.C. Principale is a new spin on the North American Bigfoot monster romance. I loved the connection between Kyra the ornithologist, and Onyx the monster. Principle blends the story of The Lorax with a Bigfoot romance to create a one-of-a-kind monster romance. Her tale of two naturalists, separated by species, will awaken the environmentalist in you. Onyx is monstrously swoon-worthy from our first meeting when he is nursing a baby bird to health. His gentle treatment of animals and Kyra pulled my heartstrings. And Kyra needs his TLC. Nursing a wounded heart and longing for a place to belong, Kyra takes to the forest to balance herself. This book proves you can have it all…and the monster of your dream too. I highly recommend this short read for hopeless romantics, whether they long for nature or the creatures who hide there.
I started with Georgie and Georgia, because I was reading holiday stories. This is a nice short story. I’m very happy the heroine is a AFAM BBW. I just hope Onyx and Kyra will interact with the rest of Pine Ridge like other couples do in connecting books.
This is a story about 2 people that love nature and want to keep it as for Stephen as possible. But find love at the same time and s e principle has done it with this book. It is not what you expect and it is so much more. I would recommend this book.
This was my first monster romance and I loved it. I love ornithologist and naturalist characters. The story is fun, lighthearted, and it was easy to see that Kyra and Onyx belong together. I love this author's writing and plan to read more of her books.
I love the fact the woman in the story is not just a woman of color but an intelligent, accomplished woman of color.
I didn't see the differences in the two...what I saw was the immediate love of the same thing and the ease to come up with a solution to keep their love.
