Den of Sin #1-4

Seduced: Den of Sin Boxed Set 1

Rate this book
New Orleans’s elegant Beaudelaire isn’t just an acclaimed five-star hotel. Several times per year, the Beaudelaire transforms into a discreet den of sin, and its most important rule is guests must leave their inhibitions at the door. At the Den, lonely hearts connect and secrets are kept. Some guests go home alone wearing smiles, but others find the start of their happily-ever-afters.

Forbidden Rendezvous by Mel Blue

Seraphina orchestrates fantasies, but this year she’ll create one of her own. It’s against the rules for an employee to participate in the weekend-long sex-capade but she’s willing to risk it for Luke. His past and connection to her boss is clouded in intrigue, but she knows what he wants, and she plans to star in one of his voyeuristic fantasies.

Ménage à Troys by Holley Trent

At the Den of Sin anything goes, so instead of two newlyweds letting down their guards to finally consummate their marriage of convenience, three people desperate to be touched forge bonds. That’s all well and good for the weekend, but what will shake out of their tentative ménage à trois when it’s time to go home?

Wicked Surrender by Ambrielle Kirk

Kris is tired of spending her nights playing with hard plastic and silicone. She enters the den in search of a man who will indulge her intimate desires only for one night. When she spots Travis Brenden, a bachelor known for both his lucrative business deals and womanizing ways, she uses his lack of memory of her as an advantage.

Redeeming the Amazon by L. V. Lewis

Karen hasn’t made love fully unclothed since her double mastectomy and demise of her marriage. Paul once left his heart in Baltimore with a former model, whose crumbling marriage was the only deterrent to his waning honor. A fantasy weekend at his uncle’s hotel may give him a second chance with his contemporary Amazon…if her fear of rejection doesn’t become a barrier to their reconnection.

Leave your inhibitions at the door…and turn the page.

Forbidden Rendezvous (Den of Sin #1) by Mel Blue - 5 stars

The red floor. Voyeurism. Seraphina steps out onto the red carpet in the first novella of the Den Of Sin series. Although we don't find out why until the end, Seraphina lost everything three years ago and runs her life and The Beaudelaire with an iron fist of control. Luke is the only thing that threatens her control and fortunately for her, she only has to deal with him once a year; unfortunately for her, it is the Den of Sin weekend during which the hotel insures that its guests are able to fulfill their sexual fantasies. When the woman chosen by Luke gets sick and a substitution must be found, Seraphina risks it all, dons a mask, and proceeds to fulfill both her and Luke's fantasies and...IT. IS. HOT! Because this is a novella you don't get a lot of story but you get enough to connect with the characters, to experience the sexual tension between the two, and enjoy some seriously hot sex scenes. Well done Ms. Blue, I cannot wait to see what you can do in a full-length novel.

Ménage à Troys (Den of Sin #2) by Holley Trent - 5 stars

My favorite kind of menage...MFM and the guys are bisexual. Eve and Brent married so she could protect her inheritance and 3 months later they go to The Beaudelaire to see if they can find what they're missing to spark their relationship. And they do when they walk in and find her colleague, Remy, who came to the Den of Sin weekend with the intention of stealing her away. Luckily no one's plans worked out as they intended and we dear readers get a front row seat to a seriously hot weekend of sex in almost every combination possible (MF, MM, MMF, including a semi-public setting). Ms. Trent certainly knows how to write a story that'll make you squirm (in a good way). I will certainly be checking out the author's other work.

Wicked Surrender (Den of Sin #3) by Ambrielle Kirk - 5 stars

Holy heck that was hot! Travis Brenden is rich, powerful, sexy and used to getting what he wants. When he decides to attend the Den of Sin weekend at The Beaudelaire, he’s not sure what he wants or is hoping to get out of the weekend except that he wants no strings attached to whatever liaison he takes part in. That is, until he sees Kristina. Kristina has been celibate for almost two years after catching her boyfriend cheating on her. In that time, she analyzed her life, re-prioritized her goals and made changes for the better. She heads to the Den of Sin to end her bout of celibacy, relying upon the anonymity of the event to allow her to do so without strings. The last thing she expected was to encounter someone she knew and was attracted to, but Travis’s failure to recognize her provides her with the opportunity to fulfill her fantasies that their meeting almost two years ago sparked. For one night Travis and Kristina lose themselves in one another and the sex is HAWT! As the evening progresses and tongues loosen in post-orgasmic bliss, Travis remembers where he knows Kristina from and proposes that they continue to see one another once they return home. You’ll have to read to find out what happens and with Ms. Kirk’s ability to write a smoldering sex scenes, you won’t be disappointed.

Redeeming the Amazon (Den of Sin #4) by L.V. Lewis - 5 stars

Ms. Lewis’s contribution to the Den of Sin has by far, sweeter undertones to it than the previous novellas. I absolutely loved that both Karen and Paul had undergone physical loss - Karen a double mastectomy, Paul lost his leg in the war - and found strength and friendship in their shared status. But don’t let the sweetness of the plot fool you because Redeeming the Amazon is just as hot and sexy. Paul enters The Beaudelaire with hopes of starting a relationship with the one that got away (she was married when they met), while Karen is looking to “scratch an itch” while having her “top on” condition met and agreed to before she shows up. Who gets their way? Well you’ll just have to read it to find out.

This review is for a four-book compilation called Seduced: Den of Sin, written by four different authors but all taking place at the same location with people from the hotel intermingled throughout the stories.

It takes the reader into a world of fantasies at the Beaudelaire Hotel in New Orleans, where on New Year’s weekend, the hotel orchestrates fantasies to become realities no matter what they are. Be it “no-holds barred” sex, threesomes, BDSM or “fill-in-the-blank”. Seraphina Gibson is the person in charge of orchestrating this weekend of sin and fun.

Reading these four novellas was fascinating and intriguing. It was as if you cut away the side of the hotel to view each level of “sin” created. I truly got lost as each story progressed. It didn’t matter if the lead people in the stories are African American or white or Asian or whatever, they are incredibly written people, each with their own reasons and wants for attending the New Year’s weekend of sin.

Story One is Forbidden Rendezvous by Mel Blue. Seraphina is the lead player throughout this story. She’s in love with Luke Moreland and wants to take part in a tryst that might ultimately cost her her job for fraternizing with a guest to fulfill her own personal fantasy. The chemistry between her and Luke is smoldering and fun to read. She knows she’s doing something against the rules but she doesn’t care and I love that. The lady has the guts to go after the man of her dreams, with her eyes wide open.

Story Two is Ménage à Troys by Holley Trent. Eve and Brent Troy are married in name only. She’s a surgeon and he’s a mechanic who was once on the fast track for the NFL. They’re taking the time this specific weekend to finally become a “real” married couple and FINALLY have sex. The twist for them is that her best friend and fellow doctor, Remy Kelly, is also there, registered for the same room, with the sole intent of having Eve for himself since he knows Eve and Brent’s marriage is a sham. The other twist that gets thrown in this is that Brent remembers Remy from college and has feelings for Remy that he has buried and “forgotten” about until this weekend. The clock is ticking on whether or not Remy, Trent and Eve can actually find a way to form some sort of relationship that will include the three of them or if the three of them are all wrong for each other.

Story Three is Wicked Surrender by Ambrielle Kirk. Kris Delacourt’s best friend is her vibrator and she is done with it. She’s also done with cheating scumbags, so her “man” is a plastic replacement. During the weekend, she runs in to a man from her past that she has always loved. Travis Brenden is a man who kowtows to no one but falls for Kris so hard that his controlling personality wavers.

The final story is Redeeming the Amazon by L.V. Lewis. This is a story about two people who aren’t “perfect;” they have scars, real and emotional. Karen Freeman is a former supermodel who chose breast removal and no reconstruction surgery after cancer, yet did not choose for her husband to dump her for not being vain and selfish and doing what he wanted. Paul Beaudelaire is the “perfect” alpha who did not return from overseas “perfect;” his world became one of re-learning how to walk again after receiving a new prosthetic leg. The twist for this story? Both Karen and Paul knew each other before New Orleans when they were both going for their PhD and he loved her and had to watch her married life spiral down with her hideous husband. He’s the person she needs to begin her life again and break out of the shell she has created by what has happened in her past.

All four books are beautifully woven together. I love how, with each story, you walk in to another room and another world. You begin to care about each love story as each page gets turned. I truly enjoyed taking a peek into the Den of Sin weekend at the Beaudelaire Hotel.

Wonder if there are still vacancies this coming New Year’s Eve?

Get 'Seduced' in the 'Den of Sin'! It's a wicked weekend worth packing a bag to indulge in!

“Forbidden Rendezvous” - Voyeurism is a kink I can firmly support. I loved the way that it played out in this piece since it was more give-and-take than show-and-tell, but it worked very well for the characters. I really enjoyed Seraphina since she was a woman who literally never gave ground unless it was on her own terms. That's something I find admirable. The banter between her and Luke was as sexy as the actual sex! They were marvelously fun times. I would rate this one 5/5 Stars on its own merit.

“Ménage à Troys” - Threesomes hit a lot of my buttons exactly the right way; this was no exception. The only thing that held me back from absolutely loving this piece was the length. It's meant to be a novella, certainly, yet there was so much story packed into it that I felt rushed while reading it. Everyone knows one another in some way or another. There are all these connections which are convenient, fun, and I can buy them, but it would have been nice to have had more time to process. Furious pacing is all well and good when it's in a sexual encounter, but when it's driving the story so hard? It's a little distracting to the reader. I did greatly enjoy it. I loved the versatility of all three partners. It was amazing to feel as if they were all into one another equally. I'd give it 4/5 Stars on the whole. Very fun, sexy read!

“Wicked Surrender” - Something about this one held me back the whole time. The characters were fine, but I didn't love them the way I did the characters in the first two books. There was enough story to keep me entertained and certainly enough passionate to set off the fireworks in the story. I don't know. I just had a hard time falling into Kristina's body-image issues or I couldn't buy it given how it's largely Travis's perception of her that I was presented as a reader which meant that she was physically perfect so it made her storyline more difficult for me to sink my teeth into. It was an enjoyable read, but I wasn't blown away by it. 4/5 Stars.

"Redeeming the Amazon" - Touched me quite a bit since I know what it's like to feel less than perfect, to be less than whole, and to have to stand up in the face of a world where physical perfection matters. That the characters knew one another so well prior to coming for their wicked romp in the Den of Sin only made the story better for me. It wasn't a chance encounter. It was carefully orchestrated; it led to something that really could believably result in a partnership that lasted more than a weekend. I loved how realistic Karen's struggles were with her post-cancer body betraying her. I loved how Paul had to deal with his prosthesis often enough that the reader wasn't allowed to forget that he wasn't whole either. I especially loved that the characters chose to give Karen back her self-confidence together. They're survivors. It was a beautiful story and the hints to Greek mythology/history helped quite a bit, too, since I'm a big fan. I loved this one. 5/5 Stars.

On the whole, I'd rate the set an easy 4/5 Stars. It's well-worth picking up for a wicked read. I'd recommend it to anyone who wanted a little more plot with their erotica since none of these stories lacked characterization, depth, or thought. It's a great set that does interweave very well together. I'm glad I got the chance to get 'Seduced' in the 'Den of Sin'!

4.5 stars! I rated a couple of stories were 4**** and a couple were 5*****. All four stories take place at the Beaudelaire Hotel when it turns into a Den of Sin during the New Year's weekend. It's about fantasies becoming a reality for some lucky people, including one hotel
employee. This is romantic erotica, some stories touched me more deeply
than others, but all were enjoyable.

Forbidden Rendezvous features Seraphina, hotel employee, babysitting the sexy guest, Luke Moreland. Annually she offers Luke her review of female options based on his desires. He flirts with her, but she never wavers... until she comes up with a plan... I liked Seraphina and Luke's story. Sexy, steamy scenes. ;)

Menage a Troys features Eve, Brent, and Remy. Eve and Brent marry so that Eve could keep her claim to her inheritance, but their lack of consummation led them to the Den of Sin. Remy, Eve's sexy co-worker,
surprises her there. He wants to steal her away from Brent, but the
weekend turns out quite differently as all three get to know each other
and themselves much better. Brent and Remy were hot in different ways,
and I enjoyed that Eve is a doctor. If you like threesomes, this one is
hot! But will it save Brent and Eve's marriage?

Wicked Surrender: Kris recognizes Travis, busy with sexy twins; he dumps the twins when he sees Kris. After two years of celibacy, Kris is ready to surrender control and have a sexy weekend romp. Travis has been absorbed by business and doesn't stick around after his conquests. His Temptress challenges him sexually and he wonders why she seems familiar. I liked both Kris and Travis and the sexy scenes rocked.

Redeeming the Amazon: Karen is a former model and breast cancer survivor who is hiding from revealing her double mastectomy by not having any close relationships. Paul is an ex-military amputee who is in love with Karen. I love the vulnerability of Karen and Paul's willingness to accept his own physical imperfections as well as hers. Romance and love is for everyone because love sees all that a person is, the wholeness, not missing bits. Terrific message and sensual scenes.

Each story fit with the theme in different ways as the stories unfolded. They were solid, sensual, at times erotic, and often touching romances. I had read and enjoyed L.V. Lewis' novels prior to reading this, and she was the author that 'sold' me on this collection. Now I feel that I have 'discovered' three more romance authors that I'd like to read more from.

I appreciated that at the end of each story, there was a list and/or
excerpt of other stories by the authors.

Den of sin is a fantastic idea and extremely sexy! Overall the collection gets a solid 4 stars from me. Sadly that should've been higher but some plot points really brought it down.

Forbidden Rendezvous was by far my favorite of them all. The couple seem real and the way they devour each other sparks off the page! I can feel the intensity when he watches her and it does all the right things. 5 stars.

Now to Menage A Troys. This story had me at hello. The sex takes off running and the three characters have such a great diversity. Each point of view gives you a new angle to consider without just rehashing the details. My only complaint is the story doesn't seem to know where to end. The ending scene in Brent's garage feels unnecessary and doesn't quite fit with the theme. It felt like an obvious setup for another story that easily could have been removed with no consequence. Still, that doesn't remove my love for these three and their mouth watering tales. 5 stars.

And now to my least favorite, Wicked Surrender. Oh where to start? This one feels like the cold shower after a hot night out. It starts off decently enough, if a little generic, but still with promise. Then BAM! Out of no where Kristina has body image issues cause she used to be fat. How do you go from shameless public foreplay and dresses hiked to your hips to shy robe covering? Then instead of it being about these two people finally finding one other and having amazing sex it turns into a cheerleading session about a girl who's apparently perfect. And wonder of all wonders he noticed her when she was pudgey and found her irresistible! Of course he did, how else should this fantasy play out? 3.5 stars.

And finally the series ends on a slight redemption with Redeeming The Amazon. I went back and forth with this one. I had a lot of trouble getting over some of the detail here. For instance Karen is a former Victoria Secret model. I don’t feel like it fits her character, except that it's mentioned in almost ever few pages. And if she was so against implants why does she wear outfits with inserts? She refuses to be seen without that layer of protection yet couldn't stomach fake breasts? Putting those aside I adored Paul and how caring and attentive he was. And Karen has amazing character growth going from scarred back to strong. I wanted to love this so much and still give it 4 stars. The story may have it's flaws but if you can look past them it's a really hopeful message.

Ménage à Troys:
Other Beaudelaire Hotel in New Orleans is turning out to be one hell of a place for loving and doing what you want to do with absolutely no inhabitations. Remy, Eve and Brent story was totally different for me and definitely not what I was expecting to read. The ending wasn't the ending that I expected. I will definitely read more of Holley Trent's works.

Wicked Surrender:
I'm use to Ambrielle Kirk's Caedmon Wolves Series, so Wicked Surrender was a little different for me, but just a little because the story is just as Erotic as anything of Ambrielle's that I have read, Minus the wolves of course, lol... I enjoyed reading Kris' and Travis' story. It was nice to know that he had been attracted to her even before her physical changes. The detailed Epilogue was a plus as well.

Forbidden Rendezvous:
I enjoyed Luke and Seraphina's story. This is the only time that I was happy that the story wasn't as long as I normally like which allowed me to read it in one day. The chemistry was oozing during their initial meeting and I couldn't help but riot for them. Since this story centered on Seraphina, I can only imagine how the other Den of Sin stories will go.

Redeeming the Amazon:
This was a nice short love story that I enjoyed thoroughly. We get caught up in imperfections and allow them to keep us from being able to live our lives without the fear of rejection. Karen and Paul's story was a beautiful one and I can't wait to read the other volumes of the Den of Sin Series.

Phew, is it hot in here, or is just these books? They are seriously hot and sexy, fun and flirty. Each story is centered around a hotel that opens it's doors at new years where basically anything goes. Also each story has it's own set of characters and storylines. I gotta admit though I was a little disappointed with the first book in this box set. It just doesn't seem to have the sex scenes that you would expect from a box set like this. I guess I just expected more than what there was, don't get me wrong it was still enjoyable but it needed a little bit more. Now once you get past the first story, which you do need to read, things really start to heat up. Each story gets hotter than the last so yeah it does get you a little hot under the collar at times.

So for my first ever read of a boxed set, I have to give this read a solid 4 stars. The four authors that came together to give a unique set of characters but all in the same setting was brilliant. You get highly erotic stories that change throughout each story, but do not lose their hotness. I really enjoyed each story, a couple more than others, but they were all very good, I mean how can you go wrong with mutual attraction, forbidden desires and mind blowing sex!

Each story was hot and steamy but unique and they all took place at the same location which for me I really liked. The problem I had was the ending on a couple of them, but hey they are short stories so it has to be hard to pack in everything you want in those few pages. I am looking forward to reading these authors more now that I’ve had a chance to sample each of their work.

Really enjoyed first novella in this box set. it was face paced ad very sexy. short but realistic. I did not like the second. I skimmed through it...finding the premise meh and it was hard for me to connect with the characters. I am in the third now and will update when I have finished all!

My thoughts, it's not enough. These are all yawn inspiring. Some other readers might say different.
This at lest deserves 3 stars. Because stories are decent. But I'm putting it down without finishing.
