She was what he wanted … but she was also his undoing.
Through mutual understanding, Tyler’s secret affair with Gabriella Reynolds has come to an end. It was a decision that not only saved their friendship, but it was one that would change Tyler Rushing’s life forever.
For the past couple of years, Tyler was known as being one of the UFC’s most memorable and sexy heavyweight fighters. Now he has the chance to win the title and claim the fame he so deserves. Having all the women he wanted was the highlight of his days; at least until Kacey Andrews walked through the door of his gym. He couldn’t keep his eyes off of her; there was an innocence about her that sparked his interest and he wasn’t going to give up until he had her. Little did he know that Kacey Andrews wasn’t a stranger … she was part of his world; he just didn’t know it. It was a secret she’d worked hard to keep hidden.
Kacey spent years trying to get away from the fighting world, away from the man who was hated among the MMA elite … her brother, Kyle Andrews. Unfortunately, she was brought back into it when Tyler’s relentless battle for her heart won her over, drawing her in. The only problem is that secrets never stay buried forever. In the end, Tyler will have a decision to make, and it’s one that could possibly destroy his and Kacey’s life … forever.
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author L. P. Dover is a southern belle living in North Carolina with her husband and two beautiful girls. Before she began her literary journey she worked in periodontics, enjoying the wonderment of dental surgeries.
She loves to write, but she also loves to play golf, go on mountain hikes and white-water rafting, and has a passion for singing. Her two youngest fans expect a concert each and every night before bedtime, usually Christmas carols.
Dover has written countless novels in several different genres, but her favorite to write is romantic suspense. However, she has found a new passion in romantic comedy, especially involving sexy golfers. Who knew the sport could be so dirty and fun to write about.
Despite the writing style sometimes not working for me, I still enjoyed the story overall. I was really surprised how devoid of unnecessary drama this was in light of Tyler's past with Gabriella. There was drama, however, involving Kacey's brother Kyle, which was done quite well, IMO.
for several reasons: # 1 I'm quite aggrivated right now to write anything longer # 2 story made me going: PIH! This is predictable as f*ck and than I was kinda annoyed by the heroine BUT then reason # 3 happened: the f*cking twist i didn't see coming, or maybe I couldn't see it cause i was annoyed...LOL anyway, once I got over the twist, another shit happens and that's the turning point for me in giving this book 4 and not 3 stars...so, all the "what-the-f*ck" action unravels in the last 50 or so pages...so I'm like...busted!!!!
yeah, it had everything in it...like a real soap opera with fighters in it...damn, did NOT expect to say that...LOL, you don't actually have strictly goodie two shoes characters, they are all gray and the bad ones are really bad...so you have it all, and sex, of course...now, how could we go without it, huh?!
so, i don't know what to tell you exactly BUT I liked it, in the end...first I was like
oh, I couldn't help myself...
then in the middle of it i looked like this
but then shit happened...and it made me...
and in the end I was just
so, yeah, you got me there, you got me good...
and i was like...am I gonna read the next book, HELL NO, cause it'a about the twin I didn't like from the prequel, so f*ck NO to him but i WILL jump right on the book about the BAD guy i actually hated here ...and let me tell you, I don't understand myself what's the pull I have on that guy, but I'm gonna find out.
but before I do him, I'll read Paxton's story, cause he's gonna be very interesting piece of a puzzle...my gut tells me!
I had the pleasure of reading Tyler and Kacey's story early - there's a benefit to this as well as a downside. The benefit, of course, is begin able to tell readers that they need this story the day it releases. The downside, I have to wait for Ryley's book.
LP's fighter series is my first adventure into MMA fighting novels and she has me hooked, and has ruined me for others. When she gave me Tyler's Undoing, I cozied up on my couch on Sunday and read right through. I couldn't and still can't get enough. I absolutely love these characters!
Fabulous read, I really like it. The fighters were all amazing and I can't wait for more book, as there were so many fighters introduced, I'm hoping there's tons of books! Loved all the action at the end!

I loved Paxon's Promise, but OH EM GEE did I absolutely LOVED Tyler's Undoing!!! It completely captured my attention and it was hard to pull myself away from it. It was just amazing and it's definitely my favorite and I can't imagine another book in the series taking its place, but I'm excited to find out!
Can I just say that Tyler Rushing is HOT! Like panty-melting-shiver-worthy-with-major-swooning-going-on HOT! Tyler is a total alpha: he's strong, possessive, protective, and man does he have whole growling thing going on. OMG ladies, *fans self* you are definitely going to need to change your panties for this one! What makes him even more sexy though is how sweet, gentle, and patient he can be--plus he's got a great sense of humor! I just totally fell in love with Tyler; he's the man!
I loved Kacey too! She was an awesome heroine and very real. She's kind and caring, but she also doesn't take any crap. Kacey is just a good person and she's perfect for Tyler and vice versa.
Tyler's Undoing is funny, a little heartbreaking, super steamy, and it's a great love story! It will get your blood pumping and your heart racing. It made me yell and laugh and smile and ache and sigh. It was utterly fantastic and I wholeheartedly loved it!
Tyler's Undoing is a standalone told from Kacey and Tyler's POV with a HEA ending. ~ Paige, 5 stars
I love, love this series. I can't get enough of Tyler and the spin with Kacey was perfect. The hate between Kyle and Tyler was explosive so when it was time for them to fight and everything that happened before the fight, u knew it was going to be a nasty fight. Amazing series that I can't get enough of. Can't wait to read Ryley's Revenge next.
This story, while enjoyable, really kind of pissed me off. Which is something I will go into later in this review. But, in general, I did like this story.
Tyler, like a lot of his fellow fighters, enjoys the attention he gets from the ladies that attend his fights. He enjoys even more what they’re willing to do to him, with him, under him…
When Kacey, already burdened with taking care of her dying grandmother, unwillingly joins a local gym, thanks to her best friend, she plans on going once to appease her friend, then never step foot in there again. After all, if everyone knew her secret, they’d never want her in there anyways…
But once Tyler notices her, and starts to actually like her, things start getting more complicated. Can they possibly be together? Can Tyler stay faithful, and will he hate her too once he knows her secret? Only time will tell.
This was a cute story. You really enjoy Tyler’s charming persistence, as well as Kacey’s unwillingness to put up with b.s.
*****Minor Spoilers Ahead*****
However, my main rant for the moment is…what was the point of Tyler’s prequel novella with Gabriella (book 0.6) if they barely have anything to do with each other in this book??? They were so utterly taken with each other in the novella, and then she gets a few paragraphs at the beginning of this book, simply to state that “Nah, we should just end it. It’s too difficult being together in secrecy, and it’s just for the sex anyways”. Talk about singing a different tune from the prequel to this book! The novella seems a total waste, as the affair Tyler and Gabriella had is rarely mentioned throughout the rest of the series, even though the novella made it out to be this big, tragic Romeo and Juliet love thing. This change was almost as sudden as Camden’s personality switch in the first novella. Apparently it’s a theme with the author to make unrealistic, drastic changes in the story that make no sense. It’s just frustrating.
The other thing that irritates me is the build up to the whole “Kacey has a secret” thing. What wouldn’t have been a huge deal if she would have just told him from the beginning, of course turns into a bigger, dramatic ensemble once someone else spills the beans to him. And Kacey’s excuses for not telling Tyler time and time again throughout the book? Weak, and trope-ish, at best. It just made you want to slap the character. I’m this strong, take charge of my life character, yet I can’t do this one simple thing? Just, nope. Not a fan of it.
In general though, I did really like Tyler and Kacey together, more so than I probably would have with him and Gabriella (she annoys me). It’s worth sticking through, as it’s a promising start (if you don’t let the novella mix you up) to this series. So far, I recommend it.
I'd say that this story kind of just flew by. Not a lot I can complain about but just to enjoy the fast-paced flirting, hookup and major dramas between Tyler and Kasey. There were bits I didn't enjoy but what the hell I do realize that other characters have there own books (which I'm looking forward to) but Paxton (minus Gabriella) and Kyle (wonder how that'll work out with his sister) are the main two I'm looking forward to.
I enjoyed this book. The characters were compatible and the story itself was able to keep me curious until the end. A bit flat middle towards the end for we, the readers, could see what's going to happen, what the climax would be so ... But overall, it was pleasant. The book was not a long one - finished it within a day. Onto why I dropped the stars: I was hoping for a more 'alpha' male for my H. This one, surprisingly ... him being a hunky UFC fighter was not a**hole enough. I mean, if he were real as in here in real life, he'd be divine and perfect. However, this was a fiction and I'm entitled to like my heroes a certain way: aloof, standoffish, distant, and did not wear his feelings (love) on his sleeves.
Kyle was an up and coming UFC fighter who was fighting for the championship title. Kacey was the sister of Kyle's nemesis - Tyler whom everybody detested because he's such a jerk and did not fight fair. Not only that, Tyler did a lot of things that hurt Kacey in the past, going as much as deserting his own cancer-ridden grandmother. So Kacey did what she had to do; she went away and broke all communications with her brother. She wanted to wash away all the bad blood tied to her brother. When Kyle first met Kacey, he was smitten. She, on the other hand, could not care much about dating - for she was busy working her ass off and taking care of her sick grandmother who was living with her. But Kyle was relentless, he pursued her and took care of her when her grandmother finally passed away. The story unfolded into their relationship as a couple. Kacey, who was afraid to tell Kyle who her brother was, felt guilty. So you guessed it, it went down the drain when Kyle found out Kacey had been hiding who her brother was all along.
I have really been loving the Gloves Off series by L.P. Dover, so I was really excited when I got the chance to read another book from the series. While each of these books can be read as standalones, they do contain interconnected characters. I have read these completely out of order, and it has never been a problem. That being said, you do get so much more to the experience when you know the entire back story for each of the characters in my opinion. While it isn't necessary, I would definitely recommend reading these in order if you can. I have really enjoyed each book I have read, but I think Tyler's Undoing just might be my favorite. I really liked Tyler and Kacey and I couldn't get enough of these two together.
Tyler Rushing is used to women falling at his feet and he is on his way to winning the title and becoming even more famous as one of the UFC's sexiest fighters. When his secret fling with Gabriella Reynolds comes to a mutual end, he has no idea his life is about to change forever. When Tyler meets Kacey he is instantly drawn to her and despite her resistance, he is determined to win her over. But Kacey has spent the last few years caring for her sick grandmother since the rest of her family couldn't be bothered, as well as trying to get away from her brother Kyle Andrews. Kyle is well known and hated in the MMA world, and Kacey doesn't want anyone associating her with Kyle and his actions. Though Kacey tries to stay from Tyler, she finds out that he is different than the rest of the fighters she has met. But Kacey also knows that as close as her and Tyler are growing, that when he finds out who she is he might very well want nothing to do with her.
I loved Tyler. He was used to going through women, and never thought twice about a future with anyone including Gabriella. But he was so different after meeting Kacey. You could tell that he really liked Kacey right away, and I was so glad that he didn't give up on her. She was really cold to him and he just kept trying, and I really admired that about him. He was successful and smart, and so much more than just a fighter. I liked that he was protective and alpha, but he was also so caring and kind with Kacey. He was there for her when she needed him the most, and I loved seeing that side of him. Kacey was understandably very secretive about her family, and I knew exactly why she didn't want it getting out who she really was. But I do think that she waited far too long to let Tyler know what the truth was. There were a few times that it would have been so easy to tell him, and a few times that other things got in the way. I just wanted her to be honest with him, since their feelings had grown so much. I had faith that though Tyler wouldn't like it, that he would see the truth and I hated the way things were finally revealed. I didn't like Tyler's reaction, but I do think he was right to be mad about finding out how he did. It should have come from Kacey, and that was something that was hard for me to get over. These two had such chemistry and a strong connection though. Besides that one criticism, I really loved everything about these two.
Overall, I thought that this book was probably my favorite so far in this series. Having read these out of order, it was really interesting for me to see some of the other characters I have read about and what happened to them before they wound up with their guy/girl. It was interesting to me to see how all these characters relate to one another, and I loved getting more of their friendships. I will say that I absolutely hated Kyle through a lot of this book, and when things came to a head at the end I seriously wanted him to get what was coming to him. But then I saw a different side to him after everything played out, and it felt as though maybe there was something good still somewhere in him. I really hope that he can turn things around and make amends for all the horrible things he has done. If Camden could find redemption, I have faith that L.P. Dover will get Kyle there as well. This series is so good, and I honestly can't wait to read the rest of the books that I haven't read yet. With each book, I find myself falling in love with all these characters all over again. This is one series that I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for good stories with some sexy fighters. Each story is well written, entertaining, and filled with unique characters. I look forward to reading more from L.P. Dover in the future.

I met Tyler in A Fighter's Desire so I was happy that his story continues. I did not read the synopsis because sometimes I just like to be surprised and that I was....
Tyler and Gabriella had their fun but it had to come to an end sometime and that was now. She was in a different place and needed someone she felt was safe. They both didn't want to hide their relationship from her brother which happens to be his best friend. He sure wasn't ready for a committed relationship when he was riding his high in the MMA world so they will go back to being friends without benefits.
Kacey moved from California to Las Vegas to take care of her sick Grandmother since nobody in her family cared what happened to her. She was a caregiver and also worked at a bar to save for her future. She also wanted to get away from her family and the fighting world that consumed them. When her best friend Bree was always trying to get her out of the house so she decided to take her for a workout. She didn't want to go into this kind of gym since she has been trying to stay away from fighters but she did for her friend. Bree has been seeing a fighter which she didn't think was a good idea, she felt they were all the same....Cocky, self-centered asshats that slept around with just about anyone who was willing.
When Tyler laid eyes on Kacey he thought there was something different about her and when he talked to her he knew for sure she very much was. She didn't just fall to his feet, she did the opposite and that intrigued him. He had to get closer to her no matter what he had to do. She was a challenge and he accepted it....
Kacey didn't trust Tyler because of who he was but she couldn't fight the feelings she was hiding any longer but she has a secret that could end everything even before it started. She had to find out if he could prove her wrong about what she thought of fighters. She wanted to trust him but she knew he had a past with many woman but one woman really got her. Could Tyler be a changed man? Will he accept Kacey secret?
I was very surprised this book wasn't about Tyler and Gabriella, I would not say that in a review but it is in the Synopsis. I thought she was awesome but Kacey is amazing. I loved getting to know Tyler and not just in a sexy way. There is action, suspense, loss, love and family in this one and I can't wait for the next one...Ryley and Ashleigh are back and I have a feeling it's going to get crazy.
Quotes:
Maybe it was the outright loathing she had for fighters that turned me on.
"You know what they say, Tyler....it's not worth it, unless you have to fight for it. We might have done some stupid shit in our lives, but there comes a time when all of that must come to an end. My time is now. You just need to figure out when it'll be yours."
One time, I had some hot pink streaks put in my hair and it bled all over my blonde. I'd walked around for a week looking like the pink panther had tried to fuck my hair.
I'm always excited about a new book from this author, but I was really excited about this book in particular! I mean, the cover is enough to make anyone buy it, but the main reason I couldn't wait to read it was because the main male character actually appeared in his own novella, which started off his story, and this book was about him after the events of his novella and about him finding love again! I freaking loved this book! It was absolutely amazing! I was hooked from page one and I read this book in a few sittings because I couldn't put it down! It was also the perfect continuation to the main male character's story! The plot was amazing! It developed at the perfect pace and had some seriously, and I mean seriously, hot scenes in it! I loved everything about it! The plot also had a secret in it that the main female character kept, that once revealed, changed the dynamics of the two main characters relationship! The author sort of tricks you though lol! Overall, I really enjoyed the plot and I loved what happened in it and the direction it went in! The characters were just as amazing as the plot! Tyler was the main male character and he was even hotter in this book than what he was in his novella! I loved everything about Tyler in this book! There was a small-ish scene at the start of this book that had me worried about which way Tyler was going to stray, but thankfully he strayed the way I hoped he would! Tyler was a kick-ass character! He was determined and persistent with his love interest and he was a hard-working guy! I loved how protective Tyler was of his love interest too! I could see that he had some seriously strong feelings for her, and that he would do anything to keep her safe! Kacey was the main female character and my heart just went out to her in this book! She was quite a lonely character and she was working hard to achieve her dream! I loved Kacey's character and personality though! I also had a lot of respect for Kacey in this book, even though she kept a big secret from Tyler! I could understand why she was reluctant to tell Tyler though, because she didn't know how he was going to react! Kacey was an amazing character though, and I absolutely adored her relationship with Tyler! I was really happy that this book was written from both Tyler and Kacey's point of views! It made the plot even more enjoyable and it really helped me connect more with both characters! I can't wait to read the next book in this series! I know that it's not going to be about Tyler and Kacey and that it's going to be about Ryley, whose story also started in a novella, but I can't wait to read it! I hope Tyler and Kacey make appearances in it! The cover for this book is seriously hot! I mean, who wouldn't read a book with a body like that on it, right? ;) I love how well it suits the covers for the novellas in the series too! Big thank you to L.P. Dover for an ARC of Tyler's Undoing and to Inkslinger PR for having me on the Blog Tour!
Although Tyler's Undoing is complete, at least for Tyler and Kacey's story, I do suggest for you to read A Fighter's Desire-Part Two, first. While you won't necessarily be lost in the story of Tyler's Undoing, it will make more sense to you, if you were to read the back story, or history between Tyler and some other characters you'll read about in this story.
One of UFC’s most powerful fighters, Tyler Rushing, is training for his next fight, which happens to be a championship fight, and is against his number one enemy. Tyler is also a well known as a lady’s man, having different women in a bed every night, and after a mutual understanding and breaking up with a friend, Tyler plans on going back to his old ways. Until he sees a beautiful woman working out in his gym. Little does he know, this woman will give him the fight of his life. Will this one woman change Tyler, both in his fighting life as well as personal?
Kacey Andrews, is well versed in the ins and outs of the UFC world, and wants no part of it. So when Tyler shows interest in her, she shuts him down over and over, but Tyler always gets what he wants. Kacey’s attraction to Tyler is strong, and she eventually gives in to her desires after making Tyler work for her affection. But she’s keeping secrets about who she is, and when Tyler finds out the truth, will he still want Kacey, after it’s all said and done?
L.P. Dover showed a different side to an MMA fighting story. She told a story of the fighters’ personal lives within the fighting world. The friendships and almost family like relationships between some fighters and those involved, as well as the animosity with others, that goes outside the ring.
I love the strong character of Kacey Andrews. She kept who she and her family is a secret, and gave up an easy living to stay true to herself and do what she believes is the right thing. She’s a hard worker and not someone who can be bought or walked over. She didn’t let anything keep her down for long, and always came back stronger.
Tyler’s character is a mixture of strength and humor. He is physically strong, and thru out the story, you’ll see how strong his emotions can be. You’ll see that Tyler and Kacey help each other achieve their dreams and bring out the best in each other.
Tyler’s Undoing has all the elements you want in a book. Romance, humor, and a wonderful dose of suspense added by Kacey’s family. I was in shock when I read how far Kacey’s “family” would go to be at the top. So yes, I highly recommend Tyler’s Undoing to anyone show loves a romance and especially an MMA story.
I wanted to like Kacey so bad, but the longer she held the secret, the more annoying I found her to be because she didn't have a good reason to hide it. Once it became clear that if she didn't tell him, someone else would, she STILL didn't spill the beans! And throughout all that, she had the audacity to get mad at HIM at one point because she thought HE was lying to HER about something! Hypocrite much?!
The other reason I took off half a star was the plot. The ending & the plan they concocted up, or more accurately how they went about it, was strange & convoluted. Will I read this again? No. Do I regret reading it? No. Would I recommend? Hard to say. If you like that kind of angst, go for it. I still enjoyed it overall, but you can skip right to book 2 without missing much info.
The action in this series is great. You actually see them train and fight and compete for championships and the pros and cons of fame. It's the perfect balance of sports and romance. This series is a bit on the darker side, but it does have its fun & funny moments so I wouldn't classify it as a dark romance. It's just grittier than your average sports romance.
My favorite part about this book was the set up for book 2 with Ryley and Ashleigh. I'm glad they're getting their second chance and hopefully their brief time apart hasn't hardened them too much. Even if it was a 1 star read, I'd have endured it to get a few glimpses at Ryley and Ashleigh. He's such a complex character and has grown so much over the last 3 books.
I've been waiting for this since I finished reading A Fighter's Desire on it's release day, so I was ecstatic I received an ARC. I will admit that I have slightly overdosed on MMA romances and gone off them, however L.P was the first author I read in this genre with Meant for Me so her books always excite me. Personally, no other author's characters have lived up to L.P's and I just love this series.
Tyler's undoing was no exception. It has everything I love from this author: hot romance, intensity, and suspense. I liked how L.P moved away from Gabriella's relationship with Tyler and gave us a new character to fall in love with. Kacey was great. You love her instantly from how she treats Tyler and it was great to see him work for her. Of course the reader knows her secrets so you're waiting for it all to kick off, but I found the emotions to be very believable and all the characters were easy to connect with. L.P has created a brilliant cast in her MMA books, and I'm glad they all get a look in throughout the series. It's clear they're a close community and more like a family.
Similarly, there are also clear 'villains' aka Kyle. He's a great antagonist and someone you love to hate. He creates a good amount of angst, drama, and tension in Tyler's Undoing and he actually shocked me with the lengths he went to, to bring Tyler down. His ending was satisfying though.
Likewise, I really liked Tyler's intensity that was balanced well by his humour and flirting. The emotions in Tyler and Kacey's relationship draws you in and I couldn't stop reading.
Overall, this book was brilliant, just like all the other. I love this author's work--whether it's Second Chance or Gloves Off--and would highly recommend any of her books. They're great reads, with great characters and I guarantee you won't be able to put them down! Now to wait for the next book.
Tyler´s book!!!! A week has passed after his night of passion with Gabriella and now she returns to Las Vegas to break up with him( after having read the previous book and seeing all the trouble that Gabby and Tyler had to be together, in this they ends things very quickly, although their relationship was more of a fuck-buddies than a real couple, all that trouble for a couple fucks.. And now she is back with Bradley? And Bradley is back with her after she leaves him to fuck with Tyler?😲😲😲
“Tyler,” she began hesitantly, releasing a heavy sigh. “As much as I wanted to believe this could work, I don’t think we’re going to be able to do it anymore.” “Why, what happened? In your letter you made it sound like this was what you wanted.”“And I do,” she replied, shrugging her shoulders. “But I don’t see how I’m going to keep it up with my schedule. Matt’s strict with my coming and going, and if I don’t do as he says, he’ll start asking questions. The last thing I want is for him to be angry with you.” Narrowing my gaze, I stepped back and crossed my arms over my chest. “You weren’t too worried about that before. What else is on your mind, Gabriella? Is it because I still fuck other women?” Halfheartedly, she chuckled and rolled her eyes. “No, jackass. I knew what I was getting into when I agreed to all of this. Honestly, I think it’ll be best for us both to keep the other weekend as a wonderful memory. I have too many guy problems right now as it is “
Tyler is back to being the womanizer he was before, seriously the guy sometimes treats women very poorly, according to him, they not even worth asking their names. A couple of weeks later, Kacey and her friend Bree go to Tyler´s gym bc Bree is fooling around with Cole, a friend of Tyler and a fighter too. Kacey doesn’t want to be around any fighter, she wants to stay away from them and that life, especially bc of her brother Kyle. Tyler immediately notices her, but she makes clear to him on several occasions that she is not one of his groupies and to leave her alone. Tyler is not used to a woman saying no to him, so he takes it as a challenge at first, but as he spends time with her, he realizes that she is not like the others. Kacey is afraid that Tyler will find out that she is Kyle’s sister, as they are both enemies both outside and inside the ring.( In the end Tyler does not find out about it for her, and he learns this truth almost at the end of the book). Tyler is very sweet and vulnerable with Kacey, and does everything he can to assure her that she is the only woman for him, especially after Kacey finds out about him and Gabriella. And the sex scenes, buf!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
“My name’s Kacey,” I admitted, “and I guess it’s a good thing you weren’t trying to use your pickup lines on me.” Curious, Tyler lifted his brows and smiled. “Oh yeah, and why is that?” “I simply don’t date steroid-taking brutes who walk around thinking they’re God’s gift to women. You’re just not my type. Nice to meet you, Tyler. Have a good day.”
“Your preconceived notions about me are starting to piss me off. If there’s one thing you need to know about me, it’s that I tell it like it is. If all I wanted was to fuck you I would’ve told you that at the very beginning. I’m honestly trying to do the right thing for once. Are you still worried about me pretending just to get in your pants? Because, let me remind you, what you see is what you get. We may not know much about each other, but I’m hoping to change that. I can’t do anything about it if you keep pushing me away.”
“Well, I’ll be damned. I never thought I’d see the day when Tyler Rushing actually gave a fuck about someone, other than Gabriella.” “This girl is different. I would choose her over Gabriella any day.”
“I think I can handle that. All right, let’s see . . . were you in love with Gabriella?” Of course it had to be about her. In all seriousness, I looked her in the eyes and answered, “No, I was never in love with her. She’s a good friend and I care about her, but that’s as far as it goes.”
“Most people don’t know the real me, Kacey. But with you . . . I want you to see all sides of me . . . I need you to.” “Well, I’m very pleased you showed me the real Tyler. I love this side of you,”“When I look at you, I see that light, beckoning me closer. It’s that light I’ve been so afraid will burn out if you let me in, but the more time I’ve spent with you, it’s only gotten brighter. I’m addicted to it . . . to you. These days I can’t seem to think of anything else.”“And once you make love to me it’ll only get worse,” I admitted tenderly. “Is that a risk you’re willing to take?”“Yes,” he answered. “I’d risk just about anything for you.”
“I was going to say that I love you,” he murmured against my lips. “I am so fucking in love with you.”I had been in love before, or at least I thought I had, but nothing compared to the way I felt about Tyler. We had a forbidden love, but he didn’t know that.
“Babe, you have to let me explain,” I pleaded. “What, that you fucking lied to me?” he shouted, veins bulging from his forehead. “No, I didn’t lie. I knew if you found out Kyle was my brother, you would think I was just like him. But I’m not! I need you to trust me. I love you!”Tyler snarled, “And you expect me to believe that?”
“What the fuck is wrong with you?” Matt snapped, throwing his hands in the air. “If you think you’re going to win the title like this, you’re wrong. You might as well throw in the towel now.” “Or you could always get laid,” another guy added. “You’re absolutely right, Ryley. Fuck ‘em both. I’m sick of this shit. Let’s go out and have us some fun.” Ryley hopped into the ring and fist bumped him. “Now that’s what I’m talking about. I know a couple of women who’ll make you forget about everything.” “Fuck yeah.”
“My brother is a dick and when I had the chance to move away from home, I did. I left and never looked back. I never anticipated falling in love with you. Hell, I wanted to stay away from you and the fighting world.” I paused and closed my eyes, the burn welling up behind my lids. “My one regret,” I began, my breath hitching, “is that I was selfish. I didn’t want to let you go, but I can promise you . . . I was myself the entire time we were together. I need someone who can love me for who I am, not hate me because of where I come from.”
“Do you promise you’ll come back to me?”“I promise, beautiful. I’m never going to leave you again.”

4.5 Stars
The story starts where A Fighter's Desire leaves off. Tyler is hiding his relationship with he friend Matt's little sister, Gabriella. When they finally decide to break things off, they know they will always be friends. Tyler Rushing is the typical bad boy player, who is next in line for the title. He has no desire to be a one woman man, until he meets Kacey. Something about her refusal of him draws him to her. He likes the challenge. Kacey Andrews wants to stay away from the world of MMA, but something about Tyler's softer side draws her to him. Kacey is hiding a secret that she knows will tear her and Tyler apart. She is Kyle Andrew's sister. Kyle is Tyler's nemesis and it just so happens to be who Tyler needs to beat to win the title. Will Tyler understand that Kacey isn't like her brother?
One of my favorite things to read about is fighters. I am a huge MMA fan. Ms. Dover did not disappoint with Tyler! It was a bonus seeing glimpses of Ryley and Ashleigh in this book. I CANNOT wait to see what Ms. Dover has in store for them in Ryley's Revenge!
I received an e-copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here it is. I could not wait for Tyler's story. He captivated me in the beginning and I had to have more. I love MMA fighters and Tyler is up there with my top fighters. He is headed for the championship and there is nothing standing in his way. When he meets Kacey, he doesn't know why but he wants more with her. After meeting Kacey, Tyler seems to be more focused and in tune with what he needs to do to win. But what will he do when he learns the truth about Kacey? She tried to stay away from him, since she knows all about fighters. Or at least she thought she did. Will she tell him the truth before he finds out from someone else? Can either of them move past her secret and move on together? I am loving this series and can't wait for Ryley's Revenge (Gloves Off #3). If you love MMA then you need to read this series, you will love it too.
"I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads."
This is the third book in the series, and it is definitely a good idea to read them first. Partly because they are excellent reads, but also it makes all the complicated interrelationships clearer (well, at least a little bit!)
If you like your men hot and strong, Tyler will definitely gain your interest and hold it. Kacey is a great female lead; sexy, principled, a good friend and distant from her less than perfect family. I loved this story, although there were times I had to stop reading due to the tension. Hopeless I know, but when I am invested in a couple, it can get all too worrying at times.
Looking forward to reading more of this great series as there are a lot of characters who are keen to find out how their stories work out!
Now this was a great read. I liked it so much more than the prequels, and it was great to get a full story for one of the fighters.
Even though during the prequels Tyler came across as a real player, Tyler's Undoing is one of those great storylines where the player finds "the one". Where I was a bit on the fence during the prequels about Tyler's character simply because of the whole player angle, here in his own story I found myself really liking him and how he completely turns around once he meets Kacey. Kacey is a pretty good character herself-strong and sure, trying to keep her life separate from the fighters' world (though ultimately not succeeding-thankfully!). We also get to meet more supporting characters for the series, and get some unpleasant interactions with Kacey's brother Kyle.
The two of them together have sparks flying, and the way Tyler goes from player to devoted love is just awesome (I love these kinds of turnarounds). Throw in a huge twist with suspense and some betrayal, add a good dose of steamy scenes and you've got a riveting 5-star read.
I was given a copy of Tyler's Undoing for an honest review.
Let me start by saying that I love L.P. Dover! I have read all of her books and I love all of her books.
Tyler's Undoing was just as great as the rest!
We first met Tyler in A Fighter's Desire Part Two. After getting a taste of Tyler I needed to know more. Would he end up with Gabriella? Would he get his HEA? I am happy to say that in Tyler's Undoing everything is answered and there is No Cliffhanger! :)
I really enjoyed getting to know Tyler more and "catching up" on the other MMA fighters we have met in Dover's Second Chance series.
This is a great book and you will not be disappointed! I am eagerly awaiting Ryley's story from A Fighter's Desire Part One.
~ L.P. Dover's Gloves Off series takes you into the exciting, steamy world of MMA fighting. A must read series! Her fighters will win a place in your heart. ~
I really didn’t know what to think when I started this book. I liked Tyler right from the very beginning.
I even like Gabriella, Bree is a pretty fun character as well. Kacey had me stumped. I didn’t know if I liked her or not.
As the book goes on, I can see Kacey has a lot on her plate, a sick grandma, absent tee mother, and a selfish brother.
So when Tyler and Kacey started their relationship, I was happy Kacey finally had someone else looking out for her.
This book has a crazy amount of secrets, lies, jealousy, trust issues and stubbornness.
I enjoyed the narration as well, I kind of wish it was dual narration because there were a lot of male parts too but overall I enjoyed this book. Glad I have book 2 I can start that one right away.
Wow!!! I read A Fighter's Desire and really liked it, but this book totally tops it!!
This is Tyler's story. Of course we expect this to be his story with Gabriella but that is not how it goes. This is Tyler and Kacey's story. Kacey is a sweet girl from California who is just trying to stay away from her family and live her dream. She has no intention of meeting anyone, especially a fighter. Tyler is drawn to her and the story goes from there.
I loved the backstory, the subplot, and how we got to check in on characters from the previous book. It had emotion, angst, and of course, some HEAT! I was drawn in from the beginning and then couldn't put it down! I absolutely loved it and can't wait for book #3!!!!!
