When Tristan took a dishwashing job at the Black Ribbon strip club, he expected five weekends of work and enough money to cover his bills until school started up again. He didn’t expect to meet the sex god Cade Rue and be lured in by the man’s inherent sexual magnetism. What began as innocent flirting and lots of day dreaming, on Tristan’s part, turned into the sexual night of Tristan’s life. Will this be just a one night stand or will it be so much more. If Cade’s wolf has anything to say about it, this encounter will lead to forever.

Maybe a 2.5. It had a great deal of potential until the sex started. From that point on it was a rambling mess of uninspired, unromantic sex and constant repetition of plot points. The POV changed in the middle of a sentence or thought so it was difficult at times to tell whose head your were in. It was impossible to fall in line with the insta-love and the constant use of "baby" drove me crazy. There was more editing errors than acceptable for the length. It was a shame, because with a little more effort, this could be a really sweet story.
I will say I got this book by accident. I am not one to not read a book after I got it so with that being said. I am GLAD I accidently found this author. This will NOT be the last book I purchase from this author. I was won over by this book I loved it!! I loved how Shy Tristan was and how loving and protective Cade was with Tristan. I couldn’t put the book down and I didn’t. You don’t know how happy I was to realize that this was a series and I got to read more.
Potential. Like the pack structure. Although, how sustainable is a wolf pack if everyone in a family ends up being gay? Author needs to work on POV whiplash, sentence structure, editing.
This was such a sweet mating between Cade and Tristan. I kind of thought that it was strange when Cade told Tristan about being part of a pack and things of that nature, before even relaying to Tristan that he's a wolf shifter. I guess it seemed somewhat backwards to me, but it still worked. I enjoyed the romance and I'd like to read the next book.
This is better written i.e. lack of typos etc than most of his others.
Very similar start to Crimson - dishwasher in club, but wolves vs vampires are but a few differences. A lot of sex in lieu of plot, but then it is an 'erotic novella'.
2.5✨ I had to bring it down for the scattered way it was formatted and the second half was a bit rushed. However, just like with the Crimson Coven series...this is apparently short story crack to me. I find myself devouring Stretke's books. 🖤🤪💋
The premise is hot and sweet for sure, but the head hopping, the rigid writing and repetitive pronouns to start sentences was too distracting and unfortunately pulled me completely out what could have been a fun story.
40% and It's hurting my brain... I'll try anything once, and after reading Omega Mine, I figured I would give this author one more shot. Not so sure about that anymore... "Yeah, take what you need baby." Was very quickly followed by "As you saw, I'm a rather large man and I don't want to hurt you." Same character, in the heat of the moment. Totally believable...right?
48% and I just can't. I think the blurb mentioned that Cade was a wolf, and based on the series name I expect the same. So why do we have to wait until the half way point for even an inkling of this wolfishness? But it gets better! This mention was so epically horrible it's the moment I had to quit reading: "He sucked hard drawing the crimson nectar onto his tongue and into his soul binding them together for the next hundred years at the very least." Are you kidding me? There is EVERYTHING wrong with that sentence, especially within the context of this story! DNF @48%. And this whole book was under 40 pages, so that's saying something!
This was actually one of the most unintentionally funny shifter books I've ever read. The editing and writing is not good but I knew that going in. I need an easy series to lose myself in and this one appears to get better as it goes along. Clichés abound in this one and there's even an 'I will name him George' moment. I laughed a lot, shaking my head but I also found a few surprising gems, like a 'lovely cuddle'. Also as with any good shifter series I'm already anticipating the next couple, which is a good thing because I'm done with this one. Bad doesn't begin to cover it but if you know what you're getting into ahead of time you might actually enjoy this one!
Erotic mating of a werewolf and his sweet virginal mate
An erotic short focusing on the heat of a strong wolf taking his virginal, shy and a bit awkward young man as his mate. The story and characters are developed just enough to deepen the sizzle, but not enough to be very especially gripping outside of the sex. Tristan is incredibly sweet and vulnerable, but the taking of his virginity and his entrance into the pack is so incredibly smooth in only a way a paranormal erotic short can be.
This was VERY hot. I really enjoyed seeing the shy, insecure Tristan being adored, rescued, and ravished by this secret crush, the fabulously sexy Cade. You could just feel how gorgeous and sensual Cade was. I fell in love with the sweet and innocent Tristan. The only things that might distract a reader from maximum enjoyment was a tendency to skip between point of view and some proofing issues. All small things and certainly the narrative is well worth it. I am downloading the next one right away and glad that there are so many already out in the series.
I love this story. I love how respectful Cade is towards Tristan. He really shows how much he cares and together they are just perfect. Cade loves Tristan for who he is. It's very refreshing.
This was an ok read for me...I wish it was longer tho...I wanted to know more about Tristan and Cade...but I'm going to read the next book to see if it continues where this one left off....off to book 2
I just started to re-read this series. I have read most of B.A.'s books, they get better and better. I can tell with each new book I read he becomes a better storyteller and writer. Keep writing and will keep reading. On to the next...
