Rebecca “Becky” Hightower My best friend is tall. Athletic. Smart. Funny… Oh yeah, he’s gorgeous too. But I can’t go there. Not with Beau Stephenson. His reputation on campus has him as one of the good guys with a real chance to go pro. A headliner in the making. My mom made a lot of those as the first female assistant coach of the Chicago Sharks. I’m tired of being a tagline in my own life, so I’ve forced myself to keep Beau at a distance. After last semester's rollercoaster of emotions and only a few months before he enters the draft, I've decided I'm coming off the bench.
Beau Stephenson I’m pretty knowledgeable about zones, but the friend-zone is a place I never wanted to be. Unfortunately, the most incredible person on campus placed me firmly and forever in the land of banished dreams two and half years ago. With just a semester left on campus, it’s my last chance to convince Becky we have a real chance to make a go of this.
She says it’s a long shot.
Can I convince her to switch from Zone D to more of a man coverage?

The 6th Man Series is a new adult romance that focuses on life as a college student. Topics will be appropriate to that age group; subjects may be sensitive so please heed the Heads Up at the start of each book!
When Rosie P. Burke got her Bachelor AND Masters degrees in Recreation and Sport Management, she never thought she'd be using them to write sweet and spicy sports romance stories. And yet... PIVOT! She recently published the final book in her first series: the Dropped Puck Series, a six-book series of interconnected stand-alones that focus on the Chicago Sharks hockey team and the women who put those all-stars in their place. Her books are love stories with witty banter, fun spicy-times, and semi-realistic situations (she's never actually dated a professional athlete, so don't AT her if you have. Or do. She loves a good story!) The ultimate compliment would be a "one handed read with relatable characters"! She's hard at work on her newest series which is sure to be sports-themed since sports + smut is a lot of what she knows.
This SAHM lives in Illinois with her husband, their two kids, and a dog who does just enough to keep his spot in the bed. A big fan of historical fiction, Young Adult, and romance of all tropes. She also likes cross-stitch, watching movies, and working out in her home gym. While she's not big on peopling for long periods of time, this southern-raised author does love making new friends.
*** Truth? The older I get, the more I realize: Read the books. Watch the movies. Do you and be you because lord knows we need more gems in a world of fakes. Late in Life doesn't mean it's too late.
Becky and Beau, the lead characters, have been friends for years. Neither of them has wanted to venture out of the friend zone and potentially lose their existing relationship but Beau has realised that he’s finished college at the end of this year and there may never BE another opportunity.
Once they finish struggling around their own anxieties, they slip almost naturally into a romantic relationship together, though they don’t discuss what the future might look like for them. Then Becky’s likeness is inappropriately exposed to the world and she fears that her presence will hamper Beau’s chances of success in the world. Now they need to uncover the villain and set the world to rights.
This story is dual POV, and a contemporary college romance where the angst is mostly external to the lead characters, though in the previous story, they were angsty in the background. I enjoyed the way Becky and Beau were able to transform their existing friendship into a beautiful romance. I enjoyed the way they interacted with Court and Clara, from the previous story, to facilitate both ongoing romances. I enjoyed the steamy intimate play and scenes. I wish the exposure situation was as easily resolved in real life as it was in this story but I deeply appreciated the way Becky’s family and friends came together to support her. I adored Beau’s brother and I’m greatly anticipating his story. I enjoyed the ending and the excitement both characters felt about their future.
I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.
