Stoneybrook’s popular food truck lot has a new addition, and it’s serving up trouble. Beckett, the owner of Salty’s fish and chips may fry a mean fish, but he’s been just plain mean to locals. His toxicity reaches a new level when he finds money missing from his truck and accuses a thief, caught robbing people on the river path, of that crime as well. Without evidence that the money the thief was carrying is Beckett’s, the young man is let go with a warning.
Beckett is furious, and he publicly vows to take matters into his own hands. When the thief shows up dead next to Sammie’s hot-sandwich truck, Beckett is the obvious suspect. But when Hadley’s shop is broken into and Kitty goes missing, Hadley and the gang realize these break-ins go deeper than they could’ve imagined. Will they be able to save Kitty before it’s too late?
Eryn Scott is the author of heartwarming cozy mysteries. Her novels feature close friendships and strong families because those are the most important things in her life -- a little humor doesn't hurt either.
She calls the Pacific Northwest home and doesn't plan on changing that anytime soon. Eryn loves to hike, horseback ride, knit, ski, and read. She believes musicals are the greatest thing since lattes, even though she's not particularly good at singing or dancing -- hey, a girl can dream, right?
Her first cozy mystery series, Pepper Brooks, is based on some of the greats in classic literature. Each book features a different author from Shakespeare to Austen. Eryn's newest series is set in a little town called Stoneybrook. The Stoneybrook Mysteries follow local jam-maker Hadley James as she solves mysteries in her town's year-round farmers market. From deceased knitters to sabotaged florists, these crafty citizens keep Hadley and her twin brother, a deputy sheriff, on their toes. Pebble Cove Teahouse Mysteries are great for readers who love a hint of paranormal with their mysteries. These books feature a tiny town tucked between craggy coastline and rocky shores with quirky characters of both the living and non-living variety. Look for new releases from all three of these series in 2022 as well as Eryn Scott's new cozy series.

A day out celebrating Kitty’s new investment in a local food truck and the owner’s collaboration with Hadley’s jam turns sour when a man is accused of attempted robbery on the path. Beckett, the disagreeable owner of another food truck is livid when the accused is released due to lack of evidence and vows retribution. So when Hadley finds the young man dead near the trucks, the police believe they have their killer. Hadley isn’t so sure, as strange things start happening including glimpses of the dead man. With Paul on paternity leave, Colby is heading up the case. Unfortunately he dismisses Hadley’s observations until after some break-ins and Kitty goes missing. Can she still help him solve the case without bringing in Paul or Kevin?
A Riverside Robbery, book 14 in the Stoneybrook series, is the next to last chapter for Hadley and company. Besides the main mystery, the book is filled with smaller moments that show the closeness of these characters. Family bonds, both blood and found, make up the heart of Eryn Scott’s writing and this book is a stellar example of her talent. Paul’s determination to see out his paternity leave rather than jumping back into the case, but quietly collecting intel with baby Cascade in a carrier. Jo’s potential adoption of teenager, Fallon, bringing everybody together to prepare for her arrival and make her feel welcomed. Hadley meeting a lonely woman during the investigation and the grannies including her immediately. Saying goodbye to these characters will be bittersweet.
This was a good storyline that draws the reader in from the very beginning to keep you eagerly following the clues to the end. The story line moves along at the perfect pace to keep it intriguing. And cheering for these characters is easy to do since we met them in previous books in the series and they feel like old friends by now. So when food truck owner Beckett -- with no proof at all -- grabs a thief robbing people on the river path and accuses him of stealing money from his food truck, it makes no sense! And with no proof, the police can’t arrest him for both charges. In his fury, Beckett threatens the thief who is found dead near the food truck the next day, making Beckett the logical suspect for the murder! Hadley figures that’s too easy an assumption and is probably not true. Then her own shop is broken into. Something else has to be going on. Will they find Kitty who is now missing? The story has twists and turns along the way to keep the suspense level high, so you won’t want to miss this one.
I enjoyed this book. This author has a number of books under her belt and each of them have been a cracking series, so while I am excited to see what new idea's she comes up with it is with a heavy heart that I prepare to say good bye to this one, the next book is the last in the series. Stoneybrook has been a lot of fun and this book is no exception. I think it is all down to the wonderful characters the author has created which it is going to make it hard to say good bye too. Hadley and the gang are are just made for the Hallmark channel, they are one big family, even strangers and lost cats get welcomed and with a few quirky characters amongst them they are entertaining. The mystery is also good and unusually contains a few surprises to keep you guessing. I can't wait for the next book.
Things are changing in Stoneybrook Paul and Suze have a new baby to fuss over, Jolee is turning her hand to adoption and Kitty is trying something new everyday, her biggest yet is investing in the food truck business. But not everything is smooth sailing though with a thief in the area, investors pulling out and a dead body propt up against a food truck. The police are quick to take in the man who was accusing the dead man of stealing for questioning but Hadley doesn't think it's that simple. With her twin brother on paternity leave, Hadley finds it hard to let it go and then her business gets broken into and things look far from over. Is it the killer? And if so what does he think Hadley knows or has? Can Hadley find out before the killer goes after someone she cares about? I was given this free review copy book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Another great Stoneybrook mystery! This series gets better and better and we get to see their lives grow and change. Paul and Suze now have a little one, Cascade. Luke's sister, Jolee, is fostering a teenager. And Hadley feels a bit left behind. Which I feel is so relatable at times when your life is standing still and others seem to be moving forward. Even when life is wonderful. I'm really enjoying seeing more of Jolee and her life as it expands. The secondary characters really help bring Stoneybrook to life and they add so much to the stories. I love the main characters as well, secondary characters just complete the small town feel I get when reading this series. The mystery was really good. So many twists and turns and possible culprits. Naturally, Hadley finds another cat to save, sweet Pancake. And we get to see more of the wonderful and supportive, Luke. And I need to mention the gorgeous descriptions of the PNW because I'm always in awe of how just a few words can conjure such a gorgeous mental image. This series just gets better and better.
I have loved this series so much, and A Riverside Robbery is another great cozy mystery. It has been so much fun seeing how the characters have grown, relationships have changed, and how Hadley has kept solving mysteries.
The food trucks are popular in town even if one of the owners isn't. When the person he accuses of robbery turns up dead and Kitty goes missing, Hadley is working against the clock to figure out what's happening and whodunnit.
Eryn has done a fantastic job creating a fun, quirky small town with interesting and likeable characters. The story moved at a good pace and I was hooked from the very beginning. I can't recommend this book and series enough!
Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.
Lots of changes in Stoneybrook. So much going on it’s a blur in a good way. There’s baby new and adoption plans, food truck ideas and jam collaborations. Oh and then there’s the robbery and murder too. Right in the middle is Hadley with her sleuth cap on trying to find what’s behind the bad stuff and celebrating the good. I love the big extended family both blood and found. Love how they support and encourage each other. They all have a bit of quirky and lots of charm. Really enjoyed the mystery and I never would’ve guessed the culprit so well done! Very entertaining story!
I love each visit to Stoneybrook! Hadley, Paul, Suze, Luke, and everyone else feel like friends and family.
I enjoyed the food truck lot as part of the setting. It was a nice new space to add to the cozy town. Not as cozy is that a dead body is found there. And the dead body belongs to the accused thief who was threatened by one of the food truck owners the day before the body was found.
I really loved the interaction of the characters during this case, but giving more details than that feels spoilery.
What do turmeric, a Rolex, glitter, gummy bears, and dreams have in common? Hadley will figure it out in A Riverside Robbery, the fourteenth installment in the Stoneybrook Mystery series. This time Hadley's side job solving local crimes is slowed because he brother Paul is on paternity leave. Plus, there is so much going on with the people in her life to distract her like relatives starting families, parents renovating homes, and grannies taking fitness courses. Hadley has a mini-not-yet-midlife crisis trying to decide what she will do to break free of the plateau on which she finds herself standing while she watches others move forward. An orange key leads her to a new murder mystery, a new cat, and either a ghost or another set of twins. As always, it's a Pretty Jam Good time in Stoneybrook with the familiar cast and some welcome newcomers. Don't be afraid to read a book so far into the series because Eryn Scott leaves summary (or reminder if you haven't read in a while) details to catch any reader up to speed.
5 Star Review A Riverside Robbery (Stoneybrook Mystery #14) By Eryn Scott
I loved this book from start to finish. It is a cosy mystery and one that I found thoroughly entertaining.
This was a a book filled with secrets and lies. The intrigue and suspense kept me on the edge of my seat as I read.
There are many twists, turns and surprises in A Riverside Robbery as Hadley and her band of friends follow the clues and I have to say that I was taken by surprise on a couple of occasions.
The growth of these characters throughout the series has been wonderful to watch. I will be sad to see this series end.
Another wonderful Hadley & Luke cozy! This one had me guessing till near the end, I love when I can't figure it out...love the twists & turns. I definitely recommend this book, it's even better if you've read the others in the series. I was gifted an ARC and I'm voluntarily sharing my honest opinion.
What an amazing new entry in the Stoneybrook series! I love the characters, but Hadley is my favorite. She seemed unlike herself for the first part of the book - scared, moody, unable to settle. When the character herself admitted why, I was hooked. Such a practical and real life example. The murder had twists and turns that did well to keep me interested but also able to sleep. And I absolutely love the ending. My favorite to date.
Thank you to Eryn Scott and publishers for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
*4.5 stars*
This book was absolutely incredible. I cannot tell you how much I am going to miss these characters and this small cozy town and the farmers markets. The way each character brings so many different things to each story. Hadley and Luke are couples goals and I love their relationship. Suze and Paul also. The way there was a bet about Paul getting involved cracked me up. Also Fallon. I cried the way she fit in so seamlessly. I can’t wait for the conclusion of this series but also don’t want it to end.
Love love love Eryn Scott's books - haven't read a single one that wasn't awesome, and this is no exception.
This book starts with the food truck lot in lovely Stoneybrook, where an owner finds money missing, and accuses someone who was caught stealing elsewhere. There's no evidence, and the person is let go, but is found dead, after that food truck owner threatened him.
Hadley and friends and family set out to help the local officer, while her brother Paul is on parental leave to care for his and Suze's baby.
There is a great story-line, well told as always, and an interesting mystery with many suspects and twists and turns. But it's not just about the mystery solving. There is so much more here - friendship, family, love, and relationships. I adore the characters, who feel like real people you want to know and spend time with. Well written and well put together, this is a wonderful addition to the series. Next, please!!
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving this review.
A Riverside Robbery is Book 14 in A Stoneybrook Mystery by Eryn Scott. I love this author's mysteries. After 14 books, Hadley and friends feel like family/friends. Hadley finds a body and when the police focus on a suspect she thinks is innocent, she gathers her sleuthing skills and works to prove his innocence. I am sad that this fabulous series is almost ending, but I know that Eryn Scott's next books will be grest!
Another wonderful visit to Stoneybrook with Hadley and the gang. I adore the new residents and the grannies were once again in great form. Great mystery with plenty of twists. Lovely visit with all Hadley's family and friends and so nice to see how their lives are all changing as the characters grow. Will sad to see the series end with the next book.
I loved meeting Hadley and all the other wonderful characters. I loved how warm and close knit her family is! The mystery was fun with some twists and turns that kept me guessing. This is the first book in the series I’ve read and I’m itching to read more! These are my thoughts after enjoying an advance copy of the book.
I always enjoy a visit to Stoneybrook. We met some new, interesting characters and critters. Unfortunately, this is the penultimate book of the series. I don't want it to end. Usually I look forward to the next book. Now I dread it because it will bring a favorite to an end. Ms. Scott, is there any way to change your mind?
A great book in the series. I was a little disappointed that many of my favorite side characters had very minor roles in the story, but it was great to get to know Colby more.
Stoneybrook is a lovely place to be if you don't count the number of mysteries in this small town. In this installment, there is a death and a kidnapping. The support that Hadley receives while investigating is heartwarming. Paul is sidelined, so she has to rely more on Colby, which was an interesting dynamic. A new character is introduced that adds more heart to this cozy. I am curious to see what will be in the next book since it is rumored to be the last in the series. Maybe there will be a spin-off series? One can only hope.
