LOVED this book!!! For context, this book provides a different Jane Austen quote for every day of the year. One of my best friends loves Jane Austen (as do I!) and I grabbed a copy for part of her Christmas gift. I decided to go through it fairly quickly and put some annotations in for her, hence why I read it in 12 days as opposed to the normal 365! I enjoyed it, and I hope my friend does too! ♥️ 5.0 stars

The cover is beautiful. The inside is disorganized with many mistakes. One of the mistakes is referring to Catherine Morland as Charlotte several times. It’s designed for us to read one entry a day all year. I did start on January 1 but finished on February 1. Too many days appear on the same page. The entries also vary in length. They should be on one page only with the same approximate length. I did learn a lot about the books and about Jane Austen’s life from the entries. The book entries should have been all together instead of on random days. Not all of them are matched up by month. So we don’t know why the entry is on that specific day sometimes. But the letters are on the day they were written. The book would have been better organized by all letters by date and all books by time of the month. I bought this to give to a friend. But now I will keep it because of the aforementioned reasons.

I like the idea, but the excecution was lacking. The commentary felt forced, and the biggest minus is that several quotes were repeated throughout the year, either partly or in whole. Austen has more than enough texts to choose from, making it feel careless to make those kinds of repetitions. But the idea is quite fun and it was an easy read.
