It‘s always an up and down with this series. One book is great, the next is underwhelming. Shackled was one of those which I didn’t like too much.
I feel like this book wasn’t believable at all. On top of that, there was a part that was basically copied from the last book, Scorch. I didn’t feel any chemistry between the main characters and everything seemed so…forced. And, to be honest, I was a little bored.
I don’t think I will continue with this series.

PERFECTLY TANTALIZING!!
The fifth book in the Wicked Vows series was everything and more then I had anticipated. I was fully consumed by this book and couldn’t put it down. Every part of this storyline and plot had me so intrigued and excited.
The main attraction besides the ever so dominating, dirty talking Lev is Isabella. I really enjoy her strength, tenacity and determination. She’s just so REFRESHING and downright SASSY!! Hiding her endearing side is a must in this world where women are pasted over to lead and be seen as powerful.
The chemistry between Lev and Isabella is flaming HOT. The sexy times between them is enticing, amusing and sensual. But their bantering is what makes you love them, it’s FUN and FLIRTY.
As for Lev, he’s definitely the definition of the book boyfriend we all love. He wants Isabella and will do anything to shackle her to him even if he has to be somewhat wicked.
Isabella’s take charge personality was also another reason I was drawn to her. Helping the women in the Romanov family to defend themselves showed us how caring and loving and supportive she is.
The family dynamics in this story are engaging and interesting. The Romano’s are stunning and enthralling characters.
Getting lost in this action packed, riveting and captivating story was just THRILLING!
So if you’re looking for GRIPPING and FASCINATING naughty delight you will be so tempted by Lev and Isabella’s wonderfully INVITING, ENTERTAINING and HEARTWARMING mafia romance.

Jane Henry has the innate ability to pull me in with every story she writes. Whether it's the strong characters that are beautifully flawed or the intense storylines that bring out a plethora of emotional responses, I can't seem to get enough. And the Romanov family? Who wouldn't want one of these over-the-top alpha males to love and protect them? ~sigh~ Lev, the youngest of the Romanov brothers, has always felt like he had more to prove than his brothers where his loyalty was concerned. Isabella came from a cartel family that treated females as second-class commodities and was given a heavy hand at every opportunity. Both have major trust issues. But when push comes to shove can they unite in one common goal to strengthen and unite the Bratva and Cartel? This was an exciting read that I thoroughly enjoyed. Now, I can't wait to read Ollie's story.

Isabella definitely is a bad b!tch and gives off black cat energy as someone mentioned below. She kinda reminds me of myself in a way. Lev is a perfect match for her because it’s like a mirror image!

Definitely NOT enemies to lovers… just rivals to lovers
This has the expected items: mafia, forced proximity, rivals to lovers, forced marriage, OTT protective/possessive mmc, spanking/punishment. I would definitely call this rivals to lovers instead of enemies as they never were enemies, there were never any moments of hatred between them at all. It was actually very insta-lust, and they were strangers with both of them being from families that were adversaries.
I loved that as the story starts we see that Isabella is a bad ass, and frankly a bit unhinged. I loved her initially. She’s been raised in the cartel and refuses to live the rest of her life as a second class citizen just because she’s a woman. Her evil brother is in charge, and she’s determined to take him down and rule herself.
Unfortunately I felt a bit of disappointment in how quickly she acquiesced when taken captive by Lev and told she was going to marry him. A few licks to her pu$$y and it was like all that spunk and fire just disappeared ::sigh:: I was really hoping she would put up a better fight. Or maybe ANY fight. Basically there was zero fight at all. She gets caught spying on the brothers in the very early pages and is lusting over him basically immediately. 🙄
Unfortunately, the fact that she didn’t put up any sort of fight soured my opinion for the rest of the book. So even when it would have been appropriate for them to have chemistry or at least sexual chemistry, I was already put off. He learns early on that he can manipulate her with sex, so that seems to be a theme also. Basically she loses all sensibility if sex is involved.
After essentially ignoring her for days and blowing her off, after getting bad information he accuses her of betraying the family, saying he can’t trust her, but then KISSES her and she is instantly wet and of course they have to have sex. I had to skim past it. All I could think was “Can we please have women who are something more than just weak wet vaginas made for men’s enjoyment??” Where is the fierce badass from the beginning of the book??? Not in this chapter, that’s for sure.
I had to skim the ending… in the beginning when she is forced into a marriage, she just takes it. She doesn’t fight for one second. That was frustrating and set the tone for me for the rest of the book. But what really ruined things for me was her response when he tampers with her birth control and she gets pregnant, after she tells him she does NOT want children right now. He concedes and says “children are not a commodity“ so he won’t force it…. and STILL forces her to bear children she was not ready for. Of course the moment she finds out she is pregnant, drama ensures with the cartel. But as soon as it’s over she again bows down and takes it. No anger, no hurt, no feelings of betrayal. “Well since you love me….” 🙄🙄🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ Followed of course by having sex. Again, the fierce badass is gone and a simpering twit is left in her place. I skipped their ill timed sex scene and jumped to the end. Ridiculous.
Somehow they manage to take over the Columbian Cartel, then fly back to America after a few days (I guess she’s running it remotely? 🙄) and all is smooth sailing. Sure. The lead in for the next book already has me eye rolling. I thing I need to take a break. Ollie has taken her friend hostage “to decide if she’s trustworthy”. 🤦♀️ Good lord. Can these men not find women without taking people hostage? All of them? I don’t know. I usually enjoy this author but I guess I need a break.

Thoughts: This was such a fun rollercoaster ride. The story draws you in from the first page with anticipation. I love Isabella’s character, and how she's a wild card, but very cunning at her core. As the story unfolds, we find out just how long Isabella has really been playing the game, and the lengths she's willing to go through to be successful. Her personality and character matched Lev’s perfectly. They both were underdogs growing up, and not only had to develop their physical strength, but mental strength in the end, which led them to achieving their ultimate goal. The back and forth banter, and guarded feelings between Lev and Isabella created such fierce tension that kept the pages turning fast to see how scenes would play out. This series keeps getting better and better, and I seem to always have a new favorite couple with each new book. I enjoyed the scenes where both Isabella and Lev shared their feelings and vulnerabilities. I was upset on Isabella’s behalf with regard to Lev’s actions concerning her birth control. I wished there was more on page groveling from Lev, but know the events of her brother's attack pushed them through that fight and led them to truly being on the same side. I think he redeemed himself when he deferred to Isabella’s leadership with the cartel, though they both know they are ruling together. I’m looking forward to Ollie and Renata’s story next, and kinda wanna see Dmitri get a story as well.

Buckle up for the ride of your life with this next installment of my favorite Mafia Family, the Romanovs. Ms. Henry’s skill at churning out book after book is impressive. She continues to outdo herself with each new book in this series. This is Lev and Isabella’s story. It was a gritty hot as hell forage into a complicated relationship. Keep a fire extinguisher close by to put out the flames created by words that are used to paint a vivid image of the searing connection between two strong-minded characters. Neither of them was willing to give an inch until, in time, they learned to trust each other.
In her efforts to upstage and right the wrongs of her brother, Isabella forfeited her freedom with her dangerous stunts to get close to the Romano Family. She gambled on her safety and lost. Isabella proved that good things came in small packages. She loved playing with fire and was no shrinking Violet. Isabella was an adrenaline junkie, although she did have a vulnerable streak at times. I loved her quirky humor, quick retorts, and how she got a kick from pushing Lev’s buttons.
It was Lev’s turn to do his duty as his brothers had done before him and marry to strengthen and protect the family from the latest threat by the LSD Cartel. Lev had his hands full with Isabella. He loved her defiance and spirit , but she was slippery,
and he could not keep her in one place. She was a real Houdini. Lev was a man of many layers. He was dark and menacing in the best possible way. He emanated raw, potent masculinity and power. He was also protective, and his knowledge of his enemies gave him the edge he needed to keep Isabella safe. Lev didn't always make wise decisions, and I'm sure Isabella felt like slapping him at times.
My only criticism is that I expected fireworks when Isabella confronted her brother; instead, it was underwhelming and an anticlimax. Lev and Isabella were strong-willed characters rich in complexity and spirit. I loved the cat-and-mouse game they played. Isabella loved to run, and Lev loved to chase. The Romanov Family was fully integrated into the storyline. Without them, the book wouldn't be complete. This book was another tantalizing tease for the senses by this talented author.

Urgh these Romanov men and what they do to me!!! Shackled is Lev and Isabella's story and wow just when I think the previous book is the best one yet....I'm proven wrong because this one is amazing!!!
Lev and Isabella are from enemy families, Isabella wants her brother out of the Colombian cartel he is the head of and the only way to do that is to unite with the Romanov brothers.....so she tries ( and fails lol ) to go incognito 🥸 they catch her and she is then forced to marry into the family because obviously they want answers as to why she was sneaking around. An immediate attraction makes both Lev and Isabella question what they are both doing they clearly both see the advantage of helping each other out but still there are trust issues on both sides.
I absolutely fell in love with Isabella. She is one feisty woman and won't take anything lying down..... except Lev that is lol. But wow she is sexy as hell and Lev knows this..... She knows what she deserves and is not afraid to go after it.....and to be honest I've been looking forward to getting Lev's book he's one that has been in the shadows but I've always felt his time will come in the limelight and boy did he get in this book. This is another stonker of a book from Jane Henry I couldn't put it down and read it within two days honestly it's Jane's writing that keeps me coming back for more, she writes the characters so beautifully that you feel you're there with them watching their every move.
I do recommend you go back and read all of the previous books ( even though they can be read as standalones ) I do urgh you do just to get a feel of all the different brothers and their feisty sexy women!!! Ollie's story is next and I can't wait.

This book was sooo good I felt like I was in a movie it was written so well.
This is a gripping & super intense dark mafia romance book.. its a dark, it’s steamy and my fav trope enemies-to-lovers🖤
I found this book thrilling & exhilarating it had me gripped from the first page I’ve stayed up til 3am as I couldn’t put it down..
The spice was spicing oh my i definitely needed to take a few moments to cool off. Absolutely loved it..

This one might be my favorite of the series yet!! If your a marriage of convenience girly this is a great series for you, and it’s darker!! Lev is the youngest of these mafia brothers and he did not disappoint in this one. Dare I say he falls the hardest??? I’m obsessed and his little firecracker is the perfect balance for him. These two love, and they love so deeply you will feel it. I can’t wait for what’s next😍

The story is the fifth in the series and will be about Lev Romanov and Isabella Morales. I will say that this story is a definite page-turner with romantic suspense, secrets, betrayal, and surprises.
Isabella Moreles is the sister of Javier Morales, head of the Los Sangre Dorado Cartel, or LSD, which is one of the most feared cartels in all the Americas. “Word on the street is that the woman is made of vapor and smoke. One moment, she’s there, and the next, she’s gone. She can pick any lock, and escape any prison or shackle.”
The Romanovs are concerned after Isabella just shows up at Viktor’s home, says her piece, and vanishes as quickly as she came. Is this a sign that her brother, Javier, is making a play? A private meeting with the brothers at their private warehouse comes with another surprise—biometrics shows someone is there—and Lev goes to the loft area and encounters what appears to be a boy—but quickly discovers it isn’t one, but a girl—Isabella Morales. She has overheard conversations, and possibly seen things she shouldn’t. Mikhail tasks Lev with the interrogation, to learn everything they can learn from her about her brother and the LSD.

I liked the story and thought that Lev and Isabella are a great match. They have some of the same passions, and the chemistry between them is an erotic dance of lust and passion. But Lev must proceed with caution—how much of what he has learned is truth and how much could be a setup or trap? Whether she agrees or not, the best way to handle the entire situation is a marriage.
Truth be told, Isabella wants to take down her brother and retake the empire. She is tired of men like her late father and her brother that has no respect for women. Can she convince Lev that together, they could rule the Los Sangre Dorado Cartel?

I loved this story, the Romanov family may have come from the streets, but they are knitted together with integrity, fortitude, and loyalty. The story includes power exchange and control, dubious consent, discipline and rewards, and explicit scenes. It does have some scenes of violence, bratva style. The story does not end on a cliffhanger, but more a segue into a story involving Ollie and Renata.

Can I just say that Isabella was one of the toughest and baddest baddies FMCs I've read about? She was so well written and she didnt take crap from anyone. She was definitely giving black cat energy where she wants to get everything herself and doesn't need help from any man. But in the midst of it came Mr. Lev Romanov and he definitely got her not to be submissive, but to let make her know that he's there and always will, that he will protect her, help her and love even if she doesn't want to accept it.
Lev was a great MMC. Of course I'm obsessed with the entire family and I just want more and more of them. He was Infatuated by Isabella as soon as he saw her I would say. Now, his way of torture is how I would want to be tortured and and she was a lucky girl and I live vicariously through her lol. He was definitely as possessive and dominant as his brothers but I think the difference is that his wife was just more like him. And I'm not knocking the other wives and while they grew up around mobsters themselves, she actually wanted to be ruler of her cartel. She wanted to take over. So back to Lev, he's unhinged? Its not over the top but he's unhinged for doing what he did at the particular time on the island and she didnt know what it was until an attack. Like Lev, WTH?!?! Lol, man said I'm gonna shackle you and shackle he did.
Sidenote: On the topic of the wives, I just still love how each of them have pivotal roles in the family and Isabella joining them just made them even more top tier and I believe that that girl group will just keep getting better. Even mommy Romanov is a badass. Love it.
Overall I'm giving this book a ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5. It wasn't my favorite in the series because I think it wasn't slow but there was something missing I can't quite put my finger on it. Now, despite that, I love the characters and it kept me on my toes. I think I would've loved a bit more on the cartel brother front, a little more action I would say. But the one thing I can say about Lev and Isabella is that they're a powerhouse because she set out to win a war, she made plans, they fell through but together she achieved and got what she wanted. When you read it, you'll get it. They're a powerhouse of a couple.
The spice was spicing and Isabella was definitely a tease, she wasn't afraid to use what she had and she enjoyed her torturing a little bit more than Lev would have preferred but who am I kidding? He was all for it too. They're probably the sexiest couple of the series. ❤🔥🖤🥵😏😊🥰

More of the Romanovs! Loving Henry's Wicked Vows series! Shackled is Lev Romanov's and Isabella Morales's' story, but all the Romanovs make an appearance. This time they're battling a Columbian cartel, but with inside help...maybe! Lol!
Isabella is the daughter of the former head of Los Sangre Dorada, a Colombian cartel (LSD...yes, I know), now run by her brother, whom she has no love for...(the feeling is mutual). Her father was a controlling, abusive, mysogonist who believed a woman's only purpose is to make alliances through marriage and spit out heirs. Isabella wanted more, in fact, she's more capable of running LSD than her brother who's far worse than their father. He not only shares his father's beliefs, but he's taken their business (drugs) into rival territory bringing unwanted attention and threatening a war. He's also expanded into human trafficking which, being a woman...she hates. She's done her best to sabotage his shipments (both drugs and women) freeing the women when she can, but she can't take her brother down alone. That's where the Romanovs come in. It's their territory her brother's been encroaching on and wants to take over.
She's been hiding from her brother and doing everything she can behind the scenes to manipulate everyon's actions and outcomes to achieve her goal....taking control of LSD. She's even clandestinely fed information to the Romanov's, even though they don't know who's providing it; and breached their home security showing up in disguise with warnings so they're prepared for her brother's attacks. But when she's discovered in the loft of one of the Romanov's warehouses, listening to their conversation, she's taken prisoner to be questioned.
Lev is put in charge of her captivity and questionng. He won't torture her for information like they do men...but Isabella responds to other...stimuli. Still, it's Isabella and she's not going down without a fight. Lev finds her beautiful, even admires her intelligence and persistence, (she's almost escaped twice); but he needs a way to shackle her to him and soon realizes...along with his brother, the Pakhan, that there's only one way to do that. But can she be trusted? Is she really trying to help them bring her brother down, or was the real plan all along, for her to infiltrate and help bring the Romanovs down from the inside?
I love both of these characters. Isabela is smart, cunning, tenacious and fiesty. She challenges Lev at every turn. Lev is fascinated with her...loves her intelligence, smart mouth and the challenges she presents. He wants to trust her, but isn't willing to risk his family. Loved the banter between these two. Love the way he stands up for her, but still doesn't let her get away with $hi+! Love the whoe family dynamics...Really loving this whole series! 5 stars for this one.

Lev Ivanov and Isabella Morales are actually from enemy families, the are married and working together
Isabella had been hiding in the building the Ivanov’s used to meet and were in the process of discussing the risks they were facing from the Morales Cartel, the knew that they were trying to muscle in on heir business but actually proving this was not so easy to prove.
When she had been captured and then handed over to Lev who had been instructed by the Pakhaan to discover as much about the plans as possible, currently appearing to be a man it had come as more than a little surprise when discovered that the individual was actually a female and it was essential that they discover how much she had heard and what she was trying to discover.
Taken captive by Lev and the locked up in his basement she is questioned about why she was there, imagine his surprise when he discovers that she wants to kill her brother Javier, she hates him he is a monster that takes pleasure in terrorising others and also in hurting her whenever he has the chance and she has the scars to prove his cruelty.
Imagine her surprise when she discovers that Javier’s cruelty to his minions that are employed to care for him and guard him are more than ready in some cases to work for others and provide information that she can use against him. She is aware however that it is essential that she actually very careful as she has friends that are working for her and if Javier was ever to find out he would most definitely hurt her spies and she would never forgive herself for this faux pas.
Its essential that Isabella not be allowed to stray so the Ivanov decide that it would be best if they actually marry and this will effectively shackle her to the family. She is far too smart and makes several successful escape attempts and has to be chased down by Lev who then takes punishment into his hands and she enjoys every moment of it and she knows that she has to simply get on with doing away with her psychotic brother.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.

Lo que más disfrute sin duda fue Isabella. Un personaje súper explosivo y con ideales claros, y Lev tan de pensar antes de actuar y de controlarlo todo descubre que eso es algo que nunca conseguirá con Isabella. La tensión entre estos dos y los piques… uff maravilla.
Mención especial a los secundarios porque adoro ver como van los otros hermanos 🖤. Aunque estos libros se pueden leer de forma independiente os recomiendo que sigáis el orden para mayor disfrute.

I couldn’t put the book down once I started it 😎. I was consumed by Isabella and Levi, the tension and the chemistry between them was like fireworks 🔥. Their are perfect for each other and I was kicking my feet every time the rest of the family appeared 🥹. What a men you created Jane, darling I want one, thank you very much. Lo que más disfrute sin duda fue Isabella. Un personaje súper explosivo y con ideales claros, y Lev tan de pensar antes de actuar y de controlarlo todo descubre que eso es algo que nunca conseguirá con Isabella. La tensión entre estos dos y los piques… uff maravilla.

I couldn’t put the book down once I started it 😎. I was consumed by Isabella and Levi, the tension and the chemistry between them was like fireworks 🔥. Their are perfect for each other and I was kicking my feet every time the rest of the family appeared 🥹. What a men you created Jane, darling I want one, thank you very much. Those are the type of books that I hope one day get translated to Spanish ✨ And now I can't wait to read Ollie's story! 🖤

This is the story of Isabella and Lev. These two are from families that are enemies. Isabella just so happens to be hiding in the building the Ivanov's use for meetings. She is learning some information she can use is way to easy. She sort of should have known that things are never that simple. She is captured and taken to Lev. His orders are to find out all he can about the plans from the enemy family. Any means necessary can be used but Lev also thought he was going to be dealing with a man. When he finds out it is a woman and who she is he knows that now they have to figure out how much she heard. However he soon discovers that he has the rival families daughter, and he that she has a plan of her own. Make her brother go away. Her brother is the head of the Colombian cartel and is a cruel crazy man that Isabella knows she is going to need the Ivaonv's help to get rid of. When these two are forced to get married all bets are off and the sparks are flying all over the place. What was a plan to make her talk turns into so much more. A game of cat and mouse at times and a really passionate getting to know each other at other times. I really loved reading this book. These are such great character's. I loved Isabella so much. This woman is fearless and feisty and knows what she wants. She gives as good as she gets and is not about to let someone run all over her. Lev is a great character too. For a man that has spent this series int he shadows he was a pleasant surprise to me. I will let you discover all there is to know about Lev on your own. This is a great book that you do not want to miss.

I adore this series by Jane, specially as it's super spicy yet amazing story plots.
This is Lev' story and his turn to marry out of convenience. All the brothers got married and ended up with their love of their lives.
I love how Jane gives so much strength and courage to the female characters.
Isabella was a Cartel Princess with no value or respect. Men in her family see her as a lower citizen because she is female. She is going to change that. I loved how she build strength physically and mentally, also taught her self to fight and so many skills. She was a true Cartel Queen in the making. But she needs help and has a plan until she gets caught sniffing around the Bratva clans secret place. Lev found her and now she belongs to him. He thought he could hole her captive but she is very talented and manages to escape all the time. But Lev loves the chase, so it's all good.
Now she will be his wife she needs to decide if she wants to trust Lev and rule together or betray them.
She needs revenge and Lev needs to protect his family, both with common enemy, her brother.
I loved how instantly Lev becomes protective of her and his whole 'my wife' vibe. Very hot and wow.
These two together are an absolute force to be reckoned with. I loved how easily they connected. How they're not so different, trauma wise and personality wise too. It made it easy to fall in love with each other. And easy for us readers to feel and connect too.
Lots of action, twists, secrets, fun banter, rivalry, passion, found family and as always perfect hot steam.

Shackled is an exceptional story. Jane Henry has done it again with this addictive and intriguing story. This is the fifth book in the Wicked Vows Series.
Isabella is the daughter of a rival mafia family. She was raised in a culture that didn’t value women and considered them inferior. Isabella is a strong, independent woman that learned to take care of herself. Lev is the youngest of the Romanov brothers. He feels that he has to prove himself and be as good as his brothers. I absolutely loved that Lev and Isabella allowed the other person to see their vulnerability. Both Lev and Isabella had to learn to trust. They are perfect for each other and complete each other. I loved what they each brought to their relationship. I loved the banter between Lev and Isabella. It is soooo good.
The sexu@l chemistry and attraction of Lev and Isabella is unmistakable. Shackled is a spicy read from beginning to the end. I really loved the romance, suspense and vulnerability. Shackled is a well-written story with a unique storyline & characters. I have loved this series but I think that Isabella and Lev's story is my favourite, of course I may change my mind when the next one comes along.
The spy in men's clothing, hiding in the warehouse where the Romanov brothers are holding a secret meeting was no boy, it was non other that the beautiful sister of the head of their deadly rivals, the Sangre Diranda cartel (LSD).
Although Isabella Morales was beautiful she was no lady, she fought like a man, she was fearless and she was seductive.
Isabella was handed over to Lev, the youngest of the Romanov brothers, he was to find out what he could about the plans of the LSD by any means necessary but had he bitten off more than he could chew ?
Isabella didn't fear him, she taunted him, she was sassy, she was feisty, no man would break her but Lev had other ideas, he would break her, he had to for his family, he could not fail.
As the story unfolds, the Romanovs learn that Isabella has an agenda of her own, an agenda that would help the Romanovs but can they trust her ? to make sure that she can't harm them she must marry into the family, Lev is more than willing with their choice, he knew that he would never tame Isabella, nor did he want to.
From the beginning the chemistry is cataclysmic, Isabella and Lev have things in common, both are the less important ones in their families but Lev had something that Isabella didn't and that she envied, a family who were loyal, a family who loved, Isabella would fight along side them to earn her place and their love.
A beautiful dark story with brutality, mistrust but with humour and love.

Book 5 in the Wicked Vow series and yet another steamy, action packed page turner. Lev Romanov and Isabella Morales, from rival families and enemies, will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Isabella is captured spying on the Romanov brothers at one of their warehouses. Lev is called in to take their captive, find out what he heard and get information out of him. Lev gets a shock when he realises the captive is not male, but female. Worse still, is that she is the Morales cartel leaders sister. They are alike in many ways, together they are force to be reckoned with.
Lev and Isabella take you on a dance, going this way and that and swinging around so much you might go a bit dizzy. Right from that first meeting, the heat, chemistry, simmering volcano between them is glaringly obvious. We get a cat and mouse game when Isabella escapes and then Lev torturing, punishing her in ways which Isabella actually enjoys.
Lev, strong, dominant, possesive, family comes first always, your typical macho mafia man is putty in Isabellas hand. Isabella, strong, focused, determined to get what she wants but her family don't respect her, shes female.
Lev discovers from Isabella what she wants, its not so far from what Lev's family wants. But, can they trust her? She is still the enemies sister so she is forced to marry Lev, it ties her to him. Their journey is far from done, danger still hangs around them and the deadly battle for power continues.

Shackled (Wicked Vows Series) by Jane Henry. Next up is Lev. He is the youngest brother, and when we first met him, he was attacked by their enemies. If you haven't read the previous books, please do so. Reading the previous books is not really necessary to read this story. However, it helps to know the characters and the background. Also the previous 3 books are really good. I definitely enjoyed each book. Now, at a meeting to discuss their latest enemy, they discover they have an intruder. At first, I was wondering if I was going to like this story, but boy, oh boy. The intruder disguised as a man is actually a woman but no ordinary woman. She happens to be the sister of the enemies they were discussing. Isabella has a plan, and getting caught was not part of the plan. She needs Lev and his family to get rid of her brother. She wants to be Queen. Lev, however, is tasked with discovering her secrets. He also plans on marrying her. The two of them keep me entertained throughout this story. They definitely had a love-hate relationship. Regardless, the sex was great, but the trust was an issue. I enjoyed them getting to know each other as they fell in love. They most certainly have chemistry. Chemistry is enough to burn down a whole town. However, the ending was a little lackluster for me. I was expecting more. Regardless, I enjoyed this story, and I give it a 4. So, I'm looking forward to the next book.

Shackled is Lev and Isabella’s story. A fantastic addition to the Wicked Vows series.
I always love an enemies to lovers romance.
And Ms. Henry did this right. With heat and spice and suspense.
I adored Isabella! She’s a tough and capable woman.
Depends on no one. Especially men. She is filled with inner strength and determination.
She absolutely wowed me.
Lev is my sweetheart. Being the youngest meant he had to work that much hard to prove himself to his brothers. While they never even hinted that he was less than. Lev always felt he needed to be more and do more.
Both he and Isabella are strong willed and stubborn.
Since there is no trust yet between them. Neither is willing to give an inch to the other.
I loved seeing their relationship grow and develop.
Getting to see them also be vulnerable with each other was heart melting.
Their banter is funny and filled with sarcasm.
But there are moments filled with so much emotions and feelings as well.
I loved the energy and chemistry between these two. I appreciate when the fmc isn’t afraid or scared to say what she needs and wants. And Lev fulfilled all her desires.
As with the rest of the books in this interconnected series, we get to see all the brothers and their wives. I love that the author gives every single wife a pivotal and important role in their husbands lives and in the family as a whole. And Isabella fit right in.

i love having her at my command. to win the attention of a woman like this would be a man’s crowning joy. to win her devotion, his absolute triumph. beauty is fleeting, but her fire and brilliance, her indomitable spirit and fierce intelligence behind those captivating eyes – now that’s what drives a man to his knees.
i always have a great reading experience with these books, and i do believe every time a new installment of the series comes out they keep getting better, but this one was by far the best. it’s no wonder, the story felt a bit reminiscent of some of my favorites. yet, what made it stand out was the fmc. which might sound a bit redundant, given how i rave about the female leads of this universe every single book, but isabella was everything; the author fully reached her potential and not only gave me another badass fmc, but she was ruthless and unhinged, exactly my type. her thought process was so enthralling, albeit unreliable at times, which i loved, and a testament to that was the fact that i wouldn’t have mind in the least if the entire book was written solely through her pov. however, i did fold for lev, out of all the brothers (except the last one that’s getting his story next) he’s my favorite, just like his girl. they’re the definition of power couple.

Isabella Morales dresses as a man to hide in the attic of a warehouse owned by the Romanov Bratva to spy on them. Her brother Javier Morales is the leader of the Los Sangre Durada Cartel of Columbia. Isabella is sexy, sassy and smart-assy. She’s not afraid to fight she’s not afraid of pain and she’s not afraid to go toe to toe with anyone woman or man. Although quiet as a mouse she is found and captured by Lev Romanov. Lev is dark, dangerous delicious and depraved. He’s assigned to take her to his home and interrogate her. What could possibly go wrong? A beautiful young woman at the mercy of a handsome man. Some information she gives freely but Lev isn’t convinced she’s told him all she knows. Lev is pretty amused with Isabella, but she slowly gains his respect and eventually his trust. It’s decided that she should be forced to marry Lev in order to protect the Bratva and conquer her brother’s Cartel. The attraction and heat between them is undeniable, there’s no denying it. Whether or not together they can help take down the Los Sangre Durada Cartel and Javier so Isabella can become their new leader remains to be seen. This book has everything a great mafia story should have, and the heat is over the top! I’m on pins and needles waiting for the next book which I’m going to predict has Isabella’s best friend at the center, at least that is my hope.
