ASYA
Aileme geri dönemem. Onlara layık değilim. Bir daha asla onlardan biri olamam. Tanıdıkları, sevdikleri ve hatırladıkları kız kardeşleri, kalmadı. Artık yok.
Ta ki ona kadar...
Beni yanına alan kişiye...
Beni şeytanlarımdan, korkularımdan ve yaralarımdan kurtardı. Şimdi tekrar birleştiriyor. Parça parça.

PAVEL
İnsanlarla yakınlaşmam,
Ve kesinlikle kimseye ihtiyacım yok.
Ona kadar...
Şimdi tek istediğim o, tek ihtiyacım olan.
İçimdeki bencil piç, onu çalmak istiyor,
Sadece bana ait olsun diye.
Ama artık bana ihtiyacı yok. Gitmesine ve uçmasına izin vermeliyim, uçmasına yardım eden kanatları kıramam. O benim değil ki elimde tutayım.
Seveyim, sahip olayım.
Parçalanmış ruhuma onsuz hayatta kalmayı öğretebilir miyim?

why did he beat a random guys ass for wearing a tie? in public? in broad daylight? i know she has trauma from men that wear suits but a random guy at the mall doesn’t know that!?

4.5⭐️ No because the audacity of this book for making me CRY. Bye. Im unwell rn I loved this so much! It broke me and put me back together again!! 😭😭😭 Asya and Pasha have my whole heart I actually can’t handle it they were so cute I want to die.

“I have the need to somehow absorb you into my chest, so you’ll always be with me. Safe from harm. Only mine. Forever. I love you to the point of madness, Asya.”

“Have you ever met someone who feels like they are a missing piece of you?” I ask. “A piece you didn’t even know you were missing until they stumbled into your life?

This man literally had every man at their wedding wear jeans because men in suits trigger her past trauma.

I love them your honor. If you’re a fan of trauma bonding…. You will gobble this up.

Please be aware going in that this book has topics that are not easy to read, like on page SA, and human trafficking. So this book may not be for everyone!

I really don’t think that she loves him. She’s 18 and he was the first man to show her kindness and to protect her after she was violated by men for weeks.
What her brother says makes sense I really think it’s more her trying to give him something back

This book was pure perfection in every sense of the word . I have so much I want to say but....... 😩😩😩*Sigh*
We have a saying in Arabic:
✨ "الصمت في حرم الجمال جمال "✨
Means "Silence in the presence of beauty is beauty itself."
And this was BEAUTY . 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼

So I'll leave it to that. For now ❤️

The title is very fitting to the story. This book mainly focuses on trauma and healing.

Asya has gone through the unthinkable and in the beginning of the book we are experiencing firsthand what she is being subjected to. It's traumatic and heartbreaking. She is helpless and you can sense the fact that she has given up.

The lead up to her escape is intense and her eventual rescue comes out of nowhere.

I'll be honest and say I didn't really remember Pavel from previous books. He has own demons that have fractured him since he was 3 years old. He knows loneliness and abandonment, something he has never really gotten over. You see his doubts throughout the book and his fears about Asya and the future.

Asya views him as her saving grace but it's not from delusion. She sees the kindness in his eyes and his protectiveness. She witnesses his actions towards her, and they speak volume after months of abuse.

The way he helps her was really great. He spends a lot figuring out (and actually getting professional advice) on how to help her overcome so many of her traumas. It's done in a really sweet way, no anger or impatience from him is ever shown or felt. He is possessive of her but it's only because he knows how much everything can become overwhelming to her and wants to avoid causing her any pain.

This story is obviously a slow burn but it's worth it. Her journey to healing is the main focus and it's never a dull moment seeing how she is able to little by little take her trauma and heal from it. There will always be scars that she will carry with her forever, but it will hopefully not haunt her forever.

We get a nice epilogue that gives a look at their lives 5 years from now and that end scene was too funny.

THIS ONE WAS SO GOOD OMFG!!!

I really liked how the whole Asya trauma theme was taken. I loved Pavel, he was super sweet and patient with her, I really enjoyed the couple 🥹

I love seeing how Neva's writing improves with each book she publishes, I can't wait to see what she does in the next book 🖤

I thoroughly enjoyed this!! For saying it is a short book (250ish pages) it really packs a lot of emotions in!

Asya has been through so much, it is absolutely heartbreaking!!! She is so resilient and strong in her journey to healing. Although her relationship with Pasha starts off through her trauma bond, I loved how he truly was always her safe space from day 1.
Pasha is the new gold standard. This man is literally observing every little thing about her and protecting her in every way possible. He was so gentle and loving towards her every step of the way.
Like, what do you mean he took her shopping, knowing her anxiety/trauma was stopping her from making decisions... so he noticed which items her eyes lingered on for a second longer, so he knew which ones to pick up for her??? 😭

I truly picked this up at the right time because I just needed a short read that would still deliver on the plot and character connections. I loved these two and how they both healed parts of each other.

Please check content warnings as this deals with heavy topics such as SA/human trafficking.

Asya & Pasha are just so perfect for each other! 😭 I love this series, every book is perfectly imperfect.
This story is more character than plot-driven but it suited me just fine, I don't mind it, because these two are such broken souls who just needed to find their other half to help them to heal, and that whole journey was so breathtaking to read.

Me dio mucha impotencia.

I knew this one would wreck me! But it was beautiful too!

Every time I have a new story from this author I am filled with anticipation. I know that I am about to go on a journey and have a heck of a time doing it. Fractured Souls was no different. It has some heavy topics, which is nothing new but it still left me hopeful for our character's futures.

Asya and Pavel are an unlikely couple and though their relationship starts through a certain level of trauma-bonding reactions on Asya's part.. The care and protection that Pavel offers her, as well as how he helps her make decisions and grow back into her new self were just beautiful.

Though this isn't a drawn out and overly wordy book, it still gets right to the heart of the matter and packs a powerful punch. I was hooked right from the beginning and I was hanging on every word.

I cannot wait to read the next story and I hope Neva Altaj continues on with these for a long long time.

Please proceed with caution and take the CWs seriously as they start on page one. So be warned.

Dark romance authors who write delicate subject matter with respect deserve all their flowers.

MAIN CHARACTER NAMES AND AGES
Asya DeVille (18) | Pavel “Pasha” Morozov (33)

SUMMARY
After a night out with her sister, Asya is sexually assaulted and then sexually trafficked. A few months later, she makes a daring escape, only to nearly be hit by a car by Pavel.

Pavel takes her to a doctor where he learns about some of the atrocities Asya’s been through. Branding him her savior, Asya’s connection to Pavel helps her to heal and cope.

Asya and Pavel’s histories catch up to them, threatening the relationship they’ve tentatively begun to explore. Asya’s family doesn’t approve of the older man who seemingly kept her away from them, and Pavel’s past doesn’t allow him to believe Asya would ever choose him.

Pavel may have been Asya’s savior, but she was his right back.

REVIEW
Whenever my mom makes dinner, as we're eating she'll say, "It's good, but something's missing." That's exactly how I felt about Fractured Souls.

The initial connection between Asya and Pavel was so sweet and tender. There was no sexual intent, just a hardened man taking care of a traumatized woman. The buildup and friendship between them was paced really well. By the time things turned romantic, however, it was abrupt, all chemistry between them dissapating.

The pasts of the characters were relevant enough to influence who they are but not fleshed out enough to be realistic. For example, Pavel was abandoned as a kid, and while we see it in his isolation and fear of abandoment, the actual event was discussed without much detail. It existed to explain his traits rather than being the basis of them. Whatever, that's how fiction works. It wasn't a big annoyance, just something I noticed because of how well the present is written.

I am so tired of "I don't deserve her" separation in romance novels. That aspect combined with "I saw her with another man but she conveniently never mentioned her sister is her identical twin" made the third act conflict the most frustrating part of the book. Their reconciliation and his proposal more than made up for these shenanigans, but man, was it annoying.

If I had read this book right after reading the other books in the series, I don't know if I'd like it as much, but it stands well on its own. Even in its frustrating moments, the story flowed smoothly. A win is a win.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — 4/5 🫶🏻✨🔥

Fractured Souls completely consumed me. Asia and Pavel’s story isn’t just a romance, it’s a journey through pain, trust, and the fragile path to healing. Every heartbeat and glance felt so real, I could barely breathe 😢✨

Neva Altaj masterfully balances darkness and tenderness. The tension kept me on edge, and the tender moments melted my heart, leaving an emotional impact long after I closed the book 🖤

It’s a story that challenges and shocks, yet leaves a spark of hope. Even fractured souls can find light, and this book proves it beautifully 💫💔

This book didn’t work out for me because of a variety of reasons but the most important one is that although it’s qualified as a mafia romance, it really isn’t.

The whole book features from start to finish the heroine getting over her trauma of being trafficked for 2 months. That’s all. And the hero is like her personal 24/7 therapist who she eventually sleeps with.

That’s all there is. The plot is weak, almost non existent and the book is short, I’d qualify this more like a novella because of the plot structure although it’s a bit longer.

The beginning of the book does feature a note from the author saying that this is a romance and she understands that although love is healing, its not for everyone and some people would need therapy. Ok, I get that - but it felt like that note was out there to absolve any critique of the way trauma and mental health was handled.

And just because we got a heads up doesn’t mean, it was okay. Cause it wasn’t.

And tbh, although Pasha, the hero was a good guy, it was kinda weird how that whole situation with Asya unfolded. I mean, it looked to me as if he desperately wanted to be needed , to be the glue that holds her together because of his fear of abandonment. And an 18 year old girl, who was severely abused and then sort of imprinted on him after the trauma, as her saviour, was the perfect candidate for him. He was a 33 year old man.
It was iffy.

my baby Sergei was right when he said "bratva is my home" because I honestly feel like I'm back home too 💆🏻‍♀️ I don't know who you guys follow, but my personal bratva will always be these men and my personal pakhan is Roman 😽 so please, dear Neva, only keep writing about them 💅

as for the book itself… first of all, my dearest Pavel deserves every single star in the sky. how perfect are you!!! 😻 and I also liked the fmc, Asya, but overall… I didn't like the book. it had MANY issues. I know Neva's books are always short, but this one really needed more length. especially because Asya's healing process felt rushed. we needed more details there, and their relationship definitely needed more of a slow burn. I honestly didn't feel their love or any chemistry. instead, it leaned way too close to stockholm syndrome in a way. she's a teenager, and Pavel was the first man to show her kindness and protect her after months of abuse -so of course she clung to him.

and on top of that, the age gap really bothered me. she's 18, he’s 33… 🤷🏻‍♀️ considering everything she went through, it was just impossible for me to enjoy them as a couple. I do love both characters individually, but their relationship is not something I can appreciate.

on the brighter side, every chapter where Sergei appeared instantly became my favorite. I love this man. 💋

*ARC IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW*

I want to preface this by saying I was not aware of the plagiarism accusations or the drama surrounding this author bfore I read the book.

I'm a huge dark romance fan and I've read my fair share of books since I picked up reading in 2016. My first dark romance was Captive in the dark by CJ Roberts. Safe to say I've been around the block enough to know the major tropes in dark romance and mafia books. This isn't the case of tropes (unless you count copying all the tropes from one book to another, and then another book)

After reading this book and looking into the allegations against the author, all I can only say that I see it. While reading Fractured Souls, I kept thinking how familiar some scenes were and that I've read them somewhere before. I'm not sure if it was a Tillie Cole book or Amo Jones, but something was just too familiar. I came to look at the reviews and saw someone mentioned plagiarism. I looked into it and found out that this author has been accused of copying 2 other books and I saw the screenshots of the similarities. Then I also see this author's team is composed of book pirates? And she fakes legal documents to try to make people pity her?

I'm sorry, but this will be the end for me with this author. I will not be reading, buying or supporting someone like this, and I encourage you to do your research as well before you pick up a book by her. I love the book community because we're all supportive of one another and we celebrate our indie authors. But I can't in good faith promote someone who steals from another author, who works with people who steal from other indie authors, and who lies to her readers to make herself a victim.

What's low and mean is the author sending her rabid fans to comment and insult me based on my opinion and the proof that is already out there. I told people to research and make their own minds. I saw the evidence and decided for myself this is not someone I'd like to support. Thank you for proving this to me further. Word of advice, you're wasting your time. You will be blocked immediately. I don't need that type of negativity on my reviews or on my profile.

one word: Pavel.
I NEED THAT MAN RIGHT NOW .. How he cared about her and his soft side with her made me feel a bunch of weird feeling rn because.. Pasha 😩😩😩

He makes sure that the whole store they are going too is empty so she doesn't doesn't triggered ..
He let's her sleep with him and cuddle since he was her comfort person..
He buys her the piano she saw in the mall so she can play whenever she wants ..
He throws away all his suits and ties so she can be comfortable around him ..
He buys 5 rings each one in the 5 cereal, boxes to propose to her since he didnt know which one she would choose ..
He makes sure that none wears a suit or tie on their weeding so she çan be comfortable.

And hello Asya was so sweet I just couldn't stop myself from wanting to hug her so tight she didn't deserve what she went through 🙏

Pasha is such a standard, I already said that and will say it again , women if you don't find a man like Pavel then no need of them 🙏 ( thas's probably why am still rooting alone in my bed lmao 🤣)

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. This series is hit or miss for me. I wanted to love this one—Pasha was everything and more—but I craved more from this book. It didn’t quite hit spot like I intended it too. I’ll continue reading the series though.

Dark and romantic. That is what I summed from Fractured Souls. The dark element thankfully being told with utmost delicate respect. Miss Altaj even warns her readers about the TW. Please read the TW. Do not go into this book blindly.

The connection between Pavel and Asya is delicate at first and yet very much romantic. Both deserve their happy ending.

4.5🌟.

I started it at midnight (on a wild whim) and couldn’t put it down!
It was so addicting.
First of all, kudos to Neva for dealing with a very sensitive subject in such a respectful way. First two chapters were painful to read (TW).

I was hung up on Asja and Pasha’s instant connection. I loved how protective and supportive he was for her, how he selflessly helped her every time.
I loved Pasha so much. His past was heartbreaking.

This book exclusively focuses Asja’s healing and their relationship and I was rooting for all of it.

But I wanted to see each of the villains personally dealt with which I didn’t get (I’m vengeful like that). I also felt in someplace the flow of the story was a little off.

Overall a very beautiful book I enjoyed thoroughly.

—age gap, forced proximity, found family.

This was a really befitting title for this story. Two broken souls on a journey of healing, pain, joy and sexy times together. This was a slow burn and i didn't mind it because the pay off was definitely worth it.

Hands down, my favourite book in the series. This book is so heartbreaking that I couldn't stop crying for the last 20% of it. It literally destroyed me and put me back together again, just like Asya and Pasha did for each other. I can't even think straight, I just want to give this book millions of stars, it's literally my number one!

Mood while reading: TYRANT – Beyoncé & Dolly Parton

Pasha pieced me back together. And my heart yearns for him because he is the glue that keeps all my broken parts whole.
There are so many things I wished I had in my life, but nothing compares to having her be mine. As long as I have her, I don't need anything else
