Love, by its very nature, is unprofessional.

Patrick didn’t want an assistant, and he certainly wasn’t prepared for Holly. Given the responsibilities that come with being the CEO of Taylor Industries, a beautiful blonde stranger will only slow him down. But his parents still own the company, and they insist she stay despite Patrick’s fear she could be just like the stalker who attacked his sister to steal company secrets. As Holly organizes around him, streamlines his schedule, and shows him how much life he’s missing by working around the clock, he starts to wonder if sharing the weight he carries might be better for the company and his family.

Holly’s adoptive parents left the country as soon as she turned eighteen. Now her best friend and roommate was moving overseas with her new husband just as Hailey’s last temporary job ends. With no job, no home, and no ties to anywhere, accepting an executive assistant position that includes an on-site apartment feels like the perfect fit. So what if Taylor Industries is on an isolated mountain in the middle of Appalachia and the handsome jerk who answered the door is supposed to be her boss? It’s just a job, right?

Then company secrets leak online as a Chinese sub requires Taylor Industries’ software to survive. With the world watching and his family depending on him, Patrick needs Holly more than ever, but a secret from her past threatens everything between them.

This workplace, forced proximity, romantic suspense novel includes corporate espionage, international politics, a CEO who can’t delegate, and an assistant pushy enough to work around him. With plenty of steam, no cheating, and an HEA for the couple, it continues the overarching conflict from book 1 of Taylor Industries.

Maria Secoy - my new favorite author! Encrypted Hearts is Book 2 in the Taylor Industries series. It can be read as a standalone. I had read the 1st book: Linked Hearts, and thought it was a very good book, but Encrypted Hearts was even better! I love the 2 main characters: Holly & Patrick. Patrick is CEO of Taylor Industries, and is drowning in all the work he believes he must do as CEO. He's never had an executive assistant before - enter Holly (thanks to Patrick's mom!). The back-and-forth banter between Holly & Patrick is delightful, and it's such fun to see how Patrick is completely clueless when it comes to Holly making his work life easier.
The characters in this book are described well and have depth that adds so much. The plot line for this book is clever, well-planned, and can make a person read well past their bedtime! :)
I said this book can be read as a standalone, and it can, but honestly, why would you want to?? There's a thread that runs through at least these 1st two books (and I am thinking probably future books as well?) - a different plot line that connects them - shrouded in mystery. So reading these books in order just makes things so much better!
I enthusiastically recommend this book! I received an ARC of the book - these are my own opinions.

Another great book with even greater characters. This is the second book in the Taylor Industries series and by far the best. I have read books with strong female characters but Holly is a force to be reconned with. She is hired to be the personal assistant for the CEO of Taylor Industries, Patrick Taylor.

Being the oldest in the family, the pressure to run the company and not let his father down has cost him dearly. Patrick is stubborn and set in his ways but has pushed his family and friends aside to run this company. Holly knows what needs to be done and will do what she has to to make sure Patrick enjoys life. In the process, an incident happens and Taylor Industries comes to the rescue yet again. However, this time Holly plays a more pivotal role than she even expected.

Maria Secoy has outdone herself again with a great story with secrets and intrigue playing in the background. I can't wait for the book 3, Tracking Hearts.

Another fantastic read for me from this author. The storyline kept me hooked throughout and I had a hard time putting it down! I felt connected to both main characters and enjoyed watching their relationship grow. I look forward to reading more from this series as they come out!
