Kidnapped by her family and thrust into Alpha Renard’s deranged plans, Ava Grey is not having a good day. Her only goal? Escape at any cost.
Lucas Westwood is fed up with the Blackwood Pack’s drama. He’s ready to wage war to bring his mate back. But winning Ava's trust again? That’s the real battle.
Ava’s got secrets, Lucas has persistence, and together they have more complications than a shifter soap opera. Can they claw their way to a happily ever after, or will her stubbornness spark pack-wide chaos?
Be warned these are written in seasons and this is only two of I think 4. This whole thing could be written in 1 book and you will spend so much time readying the same thing over and over like the main character inner turmoil about needing to talk and days of days of training written out. There isn’t time jumps for character growth. If you are looking for a love story you won’t find it in the 1st two seasons (books). Not much development of the two main characters relationship at all and when it does it makes no sense. Hot and steamy parts are few and lame. So much isn’t explained and what is explained is a stretch and the author tries to explain in the end as if we are the fools who don’t truly get it. Don’t waste your money and time like I did. Not worth the money for a published book with grammar errors and plot that could have been better time managed. For a book with such steamy covers you won’t get what you are hoping for. I loved the concept and the author does have moments of poetic description however it’s a slap in the face and a cash money grab to the readers with the lack of completion of the book despite the amount I paid so far to read it. Will not continue to read the rest of the story on web novel. Wish the author the best as I believe in supporting authors that are good writers and understand they need to make money but these short chapter websites that you end up paying so much more for a half written story that is drawn way out then you would a book in a book store. This is a slap in the face to the readers who do support.
Volume 4: Of Magic and Fae ⭐⭐ WTF was that? Ava finally getting a teacher was great but gnomes, zombies?? Where's the romance? Helloo, can't have a romance book without the romance! Couples are hardly ever together 🙄
Volume 6: Of Love and Loss ⭐⭐ I caught up with the chapters and since I'm unable to read as they're released I took a break to build up some material. As excited as I was when i caught up, slowly the story lost my interest. The issues in the writing and storytelling became more obvious and the highlights seemed to disappear. I know based in the previous 5 endings that the books end by introducing a new element and dangling this from a cliff to drag the reader into the sequel. I couldn't care less about this supposed new enemy though 😅. Unexplained magic? Dark void? 🥱 I'm sure my reading experience would've been vastly different had i read this in a more sensible manner.
I read book one and thought OK I will definitely read book 2. The story has not progressed. I get that Ava is damaged and needs to come into her own, but the story is not developing as quickly as I would’ve liked to see a resolution. I feel it’s more of the author is dragging out the storyline and has included a lot more fluff than needed, Just to extend the number of chapters so that she could sell more books for profit. Little disappointing, especially to it does not feel like the story is going to end in book 3.
Ava the FMC has become very annoying. She is prolonging her decision to accept Lucas as her mate and it feels contrived to keep the story going like a soap opera. Another thing that has been bothering me is that Selene her wolf keeps letting her do things on her own promising Ava that she will protect her, but never seems to. She is never there when she needs her. Only after Ava is beat up and near death. And she is not telling her all she needs to know about herself. Only bits and pieces saying “in time”. Giver her all the facts so she can prepare herself. Tell Lucas so he can help as well. The plot is good, but it needs to be fine tuned more.
DNFd this. Once again only saving grace was her relationship with her friends, peripheral character interactions. No real development between her and mates just fluffing around. Spice isn’t well written.
As the author stated in the FAQs it’s a long character developement so I can cut the main character some small slack. I find her annoying and indecisive, but I have to take the characters history into account. The story has a good hook and I am sad to see the third though complete on the app is not available yet. I would rather purchase the ebook from the authors web page. Than buy on kindle.
So far the story is pretty good. Has a unique twist in rejected shifter novels. Ava is hard to like sometimes but I’m gonna hand in there a little longer.
Much cheaper than paying on the WebNovel app, but not sure how long this is gonna take to get all the books. The story is already on book 7 in the app and only 2 here.
Another disappointing end, two in a row! The characters and limitations and weakness of the key character is irritating. Some genuine humour on occasion, and unnecessary sickening detail. Doormat meets wolf, then more wolves then meets vampire. The lead constantly being a victim is quite depressing.
I'm thoroughly enjoying this story. It's very detailed. I was terribly disappointed in the questions at the end of this book, it just shows how people don't really pay attention to what they read, see, or hear.
