First published as a poet on the wall of her elementary school in 1988, #1 Bestselling author Susy Chandler has spent decades dashing poems in private. After major life changes brought her to North Carolina, she cut her cable and wrote her first novel to celebrate finishing her MBA. As part of her oxymoronic lifestyle, she is pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing at the Thomas Wolfe Center for Narrative at Lenoir-Rhyne University of Asheville.
That was a delightful read; I truly liked the concept of "falling" for someone during a Zoom interview. The entire story was beautifully written, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I highly recommend it.
Star rating. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice rating. 🔥🔥🔥
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this honest review voluntarily.
A beautiful toaster oven, love at first sight romance, with ex turned best friend and cute and sassy kids. Marty fell in love with Dana when she saw her on her zoom interview, she felt the special connection, the irresistible pull from her and despite of knowing Dana was straight and having a boyfriend, she couldn't help but getting close to her every chance she got. She strongly reminds me of Bette Porter in the original "The L Word", confident, strong, brave and kind. Junior Editor Dana was "straight" and only dated men so far, she lived with her ideal boyfriend but didn't really feel the love. When the two met in person, sparkles flying and the attraction was instant and mutual. With plenty of tear strained drama, we got the happy ending. I really enjoyed this book, it is witty, romantic and heartwarming. I especially loved reading the texts between the MCs and the poets deeply moved me.
Dana and Marty are immediately smitten with one another shortly after meeting. They're both in unfulfilling relationships and find themselves drawn to one another. This was written with alternating chapters from Dana's and Marty's points of view, so it was nice to see the journey they take from both perspectives. I have to admit, I initially cringed as I read how Dana's boyfriend spoke, then reminded myself this was a portrayal of one black man and not a representation of every man. Overall, this is a quick read and a fitting conclusion to the series.
Kary and Alex were friends ever since high school. Alex came out as Lesbi, but.Kary is straight. I found a plot very interesting as.Kary becomes involved with a man she thinks she loves. There are some trigger warnings in this book as there is violence, rape, and coercion. I’d like the story and I’d rather than one setting. I recommend this book for those who like a slow burning romance with a lot of caring and love.
This book was so good I finished it in one seating. Dana and Marty hit it off from unlikely situations. What's great about this story is that even though they are both is relationships of sorts, their connection makes lot of sense. Their love is just so strong and compelling that it can only happen one way. I really enjoyed reading it.
Wow what an incredible story I loved the main characters their connection was embedded beautifully the twists were perfection with so much depth making you feel apart of their life's I couldn't put it down definitely must read congratulations
