This reminds me of a novella I read years ago and have never forgotten- All In by Brynn Paulin. The only similarity between the two stories is a straight guy is dared to kiss an unknown, random man in a bar. The man turns out to be gay and the straight man is at least a little bent after the kiss leads to more outside the bar. I don't want to compare them, mostly because I need to reread All In to do it justice, but they are comparable.
Elija is playing Truth or Dare with a pair of friends when the dare he's given if to pick a guy in the pub and kiss him. He scans the room for someone least likely to respond with violence to a same sex kiss from a stranger. I love that he awkwardly gets consent to participate in the dare fulfillment. And I can imagine how hot that kiss was to witness. It is just a kiss, though, so dare complete, Elija and Levi introduce themselves but don't exchange numbers before Elija goes back to his friends.
Later, he does some social media stalking yo find Levi online. He doesn't slide into the DMs like I would have expected. Instead, he drags the friend whose dare created chaos within him back to that bar the next night in hopes of seeing Levi again. He does and it leads to a very hot scene. This is definitely erotica without much romantic plot, but there's this hint of possibility between Elija and Levi that says this wouldn't just be a one-night stand. I'd love a longer take on this one, but I do appreciate these Blaze quickies to tear through when the end of the year is pretty much here and I'm still a few away from hitting my 2025 reading goal.
This short hot story of a dare that changes everything for Elija . A straight guy forced to kiss a random stranger changes everything fir him. Levi's kiss is earth shattering and the subsequent sex changes a straight jock into a man loving man. Love to see what happens next but maybe that would take the thrill out of this short.
A great book in many ways, read in a heart beat, great in betweener, for the more involved, deeper mm novels, sagas. Well different type of deep, if you understand my meaning.
When you play truth or dare with your friends be prepared for anything, more so if you have friends like Elija, a straight man who has just been dared to kiss a gay man in the bar. This is both sweet and amusing as Elija battles with his mind and the new strange feelings he's having. Short, sadly, but a really nice read.
I didn't know what to expect with this book but despite it being short, it packs a punch. I'd very much like to see these two characters in a longer novel.
Got 45 minutes to kill? Wanna read a cute but spicy little treat!? This is the one you grab! A dare that changes everything and turns out to be hotter than Elija could have ever imagined!! it's always the ones that look safe that turn you inside out! 🤣
