Ed Anton’s new book, Repentance, really gets to the heart of what repentance really is. The author is convinced that many want to live repentant lives, but not everyone understands how to do so. Giving in-depth biblical and historical background on this all-important topic, he helps the reader know how.
Excellent! Edward Anton really digs into the scriptures and the original languages to find a good definition of repentance that isn't tainted by traditions or opinions.
A fantastic read for the Body of Christ of much-needed proportions!!! I've always struggled with the seemingly endless cycle of sin-repent-sin-repent-sin-repent-sin and unfortunately began to wonder at times if I even was a Christian, after all of this? Yet, the word 'repentance' has a much more profound and encouraging word from the original Greek that is 'metanoia'. Thus, I am now beginning another book by a man named Treadwell Walden who also engages with this long-lost biblical meaning of the Greek word 'metanoia'. I would strongly exhort anyone seeking to grow in both their own knowledge and obedience in the Lord to plumb the depths of the word 'metanoia', as well. I spent a long time reading this book--made even longer by forgetting to pack it on summer vacation and then having fuzzy sepsis brain after. Overall I found the book thought-provoking and full of useful/helpful concepts. I definitely think I got more out of the first half, and that the very long gap of time negatively impacted my connection with the second half.
