"With warmth and clarity, this book emphasizes the importance of spiritually surrendering to God’s will. Engaging true stories of surrender demonstrate the real and practical freedom gained through devoting oneself to Christ. Surrender is described as a key to spiritual power, and a discussion of its many challenges and rewards is provided. An examination of crucial biblical principles and scriptures illustrates the importance of knowing and trusting an all-powerful and all-loving God in order to find meaning and inner peace."
If you're distressed, you're not surrendered to God. Use that as the yardstick to measure the degree to which you're surrendered. The best part of this book for me was the appendix, where Ferguson talks about three areas of God's will in our lives. First, our shared mission with other Christians to make disciples. Second, our moral mission to live holy lives. Third, our individual mission to live out the plans God has for us.
