In the ninth and final installment of the Lesson series, Ginny has learned a great deal about men. She's experienced every romance novel scenario she can think of, but still has one more lesson to learn. When she meets the duke of Rutland, Ginny knows instantly that he's the one. What she doesn't realize is how perfect he is for her, and not just her character.
Drew Clarke, the duke of Rutland, only wanted some land for his new stables. When he has to deal with the beautiful Samantha Rylan, Ginny's newest character, he is overwhelmed by the force of her personality. She is too far beneath him to marry, but he finds he can't pull himself away.
Is this where Ginny finally finds love? Or will she be doomed to leave him once the story is complete?
I started writing fiction at the age of 12 for my friends. Of course, in those days, I was the heroine, saving dashing rock stars from their ruin. Now, somewhat older, hopefully wiser, I decided to finally put down my ideas on paper and write about a heroine not unlike myself (personality wise, certainly not realistically).
After finding my own soulmate (which is just another word for the only man willing to live with me), and having two beautiful children, I'm changing my stay-at-home mom status to part-time author. Which isn't to say that my days are not still filled with laundry and dishes, but I've also added writing.
I have many plans for my heroine, Ginny. She will meet matchmakers, pirates, cowboys and maybe a vampire or two. If I've read it in a romance novel, you can bet, Ginny will live it in an upcoming novel.
Thank you for all the support from my family and friends. Without my overly encouraging husband, none of these books would have been written. And I really appreciate my fellow neighborhood mommies. They make the best editors in the world.
I don't even have words for how pissed off I am right now. This ending. This mother-fucking ending. I feel cheated and betrayed and fucking pissed the fuck off. Most of this is spoilers so if you want to know why I'm this close to printing this book out so I can watch this piece of shit burn like a bastard, join me in under the tags. I dare you.
I am actually very sad to see this series end. As Ginny finds herself in yet another body having to navigate her way around to find the man she is supposed to have her happy ever after with. This time she finds herself inside Samantha and this love journey is going to take quite a bit longer to travel as Samantha is only 12. Ginny has to use her street wise attitude to get Samantha out of some tricky situations as Samantha is recently orphaned, sent to an orphanage and has to escape the clutches of the predatory orphanage director. Her journey eventually leads to polite society in England. Although not so polite society as the gentlemen resent her self-made fortune and she is not reserved enough for the women.
Ginny's character comes across as strongly here as she has in the other characters that she has occupied. Whilst over the course of the series she has tried different methods to try to speed up the plot and the eventual happy ever after, here she lets the story run it's course. She is hopeful that this may be her happy ever after. After falling in love with 8 other men, you cannot help but want her to. Will she get her happy ever after with Drew or will she move on yet again or will she actually wake up from her coma?
This has to be one of my favourite series and I love Ginny and the way she tries to bring modern life into the past. Her character is very determined, independent and forthright, something that is not usual in the lives she has lived. Her experiences are extraordinary and the men she meets along the way are all unique but men of their times and each one falling in love with Ginny's character.
Once and awhile, there comes a book that changes your mind and heart. I stumbled on this series a long time and ago, but recently I declared it was time to finish them, since there it was, gazing back at me from my kindle the last book of the series. I felt a squeeze in my chest; I knew what it was going to happen…the fells. So I rose my chin and decide to conquer the inevitable, or in this case to read it. I have to say that the author outdid herself with this book, I was a long time I enjoyed a book so much. It made me laugh, cry, yell, think, think a lot, about romance, love and a person who isn’t perfect, but perfect for you. However, I’m in love with Drew, he holds a special place in my heart and I will definitely re-read it. I only hope that the author can keep her formula and continue to write (I’m a fan!). I love historical romance novels, but this one has my heart. Thank you, Mrs. Connors for this story. My soul needed it!
I have been waiting for this book since I first downloaded the first book in this series. A Lesson in Passion was actually the first ebook I ever read. I love Ginny and this book was no exception! The book captured you in the first section with the story of Samantha and Drew. We all knew how it was going to play out... Hell Ginny knew how it was going to play out as well. This book had the rawness and struggle we've come to expect from Ginny, however; with Ginny being transported into a minor's body was definitely a different thing. I cried with this book, I laughed with this book. I could not think of a better ending to this series. I am so glad it ended the way it did! Great job Jennifer Connors another amazing novel. Thanks for being a part of our lives for the last couple years!
I have read all 9 books in this series. It's by far the best I've read, but rating this last book with 3 stars. It felt as if the author didn't give it her all in this last book and just wanted to end it. However, I still recommend everyone to read this series who like historical romance...you won't be disappointed.
Having read all the books in this series & enjoying all of them & reading about Ginny's adventures , the time was right to end the series with this book & was so pleased that Ginny got her very own 'happy ever after' a very fitting ending to a very enjoyable series .
oh I loved it! Ginny gets her happily ever after. I got to the last page and I didn't want it to be over. This whole series has been a joy and I am not disappointed in the ending. I want to just gush with all the details but I don't want to spoil it for someone else.
I hated to see this series end. I enjoyed the chemistry Ginny had with Drew and wish we could've seen his mother put in her place. A nice finale to a creative series and very likable heroine.
I did like the story but i feel the story was rushed. There were questions i had at the end of the story. I am glad i read it but it could have been so much better since is the last story of Ginny
No real lesson here. When Ginny finally gets back to her life, her HEA is totally unsupported by the context of either her actual situation or even in the overall series. Major disappointment.
