Interesting perspective from the daughter. Very poorly written. Multiple punctuation, spelling and grammar mistakes throughout the book, which were extremely distracting. The writer states in the intro that she is a teacher!!?? Sentences and paragraphs are repeated over and over. Many questions are left unanswered.
Here's a couple of examples of poorly written sentences:
"Which being divorced at the time was somewhat taboo."
"The next few years little did we know, we would be caught in the battle of a lifetime."
The story is interesting and the reader can easily sympathize with what the Broderick children were going through. Interesting to see her biases when looking at her parents' culpability in the failure of the marriage. Almost seems to make a more of a case against the parent she actually sided with.
With some heavy editing this could have been very good.

Having lived in San Diego during the murders and trial, I have of course followed the story all along. I've seen the movies, and news coverage, read a couple of other books. But I think that Kim Broderick has given the most unbiased account, and she does it from her perspective, always reminding the reader that each person sees things from their own point of few. She and her sister Lee remember some events very differently from each other. But overall I think Kim has told her story pretty fairly, acknowledging her father was far from perfect or a saint. But she never allows the excuses or family pressure to forget that there is no relenting on the murders of her Father and His wife Linda. I think this is a story about a child growing up and seeing that her Mother loved her but had some serious issues. By the time Kim was in high school and her mother was put on a mental health hold, Kim knew her Mom needed much more help to recover, and yet no one else seemed to understand. I don't know if it was the times, the money, the power or whatever, but sadly I think so many lives could have had a very different outcome if someone along the way had stepped up and said this needs to be stopped now! Great book, read on my Kindle.

Super boring and poorly written. Also the author seems super petty to not even try to see the perspective of what her mother was going through. Her mother basically had her whole life ripped away from her with no chance of ever getting it back. She had no visitations with her own children AFTER her husband cheated on her and took everything. Very infuriating... as if an actual 9 year old wrote it. Obviously the mother had mental issues she was going through and should have never killed anyone but there’s all blame on her mother and none on the father other than “he wasn’t perfect”... yeah... we know that.

Snooze...

I have read either two or three Betty Broderick biographies. This was a snooze-fest. Nothing in ft, telling, not well-written. Serious, skip it. Are we support to feel sorry for a woman whose bar bill ran over cost by $4k at her weekend wedding extravaganza? I guess she is Betty's daughter.

The book is poorly written.
On the other hand, such a tragedy to not forgive her mother after these decades.
To testify against her again.
A heavy loaded heart wrapped up in bitterness. To make it more dramatic, she looks just like her mom.
The mom needed mental support and, indeed, prison time, more of the first than the second.

Hello,
I would like to read this book but can’t find it anywhere. I was thinking it would shed some light on a story that seems so intricate and sad especially for the kids. Does anyone want to sell it? Thank you!
