This is just a spin on low carb, but with some very odd ideas thrown in.

I do get the idea behind an apple a day, but the advice if you can't eat apples is to eat a pear and most people who can't do the former can't do the latter.

The stance on fruit is mind boggling. Much better fruit for you than apples.

The idea that your body can only do one source of protein at a time is also nonsense. Proteins are in most foods. Only eating muscle meats and no skin or dark meat is going throw of your amino acid profile (you need a lot of glycine).

I do not understand the no training logic. Humans are meant to move and be active.

I understand the nightshades leaving them out at the start, but there are other plants with potential impacts on health like oxalates.

Also she talks an awful lot about her husband's restaurant.

The edition I received was I think printed on demand. It isn’t a regular quality bound book. I read it from cover to cover and felt on reflection that the diet regime is extreme and also a bit odd. I feel that sticking to this diet would be quite hard and I suggest it is for real hardcore dieters. I kept looking and found the work of Dr. David Unwin and the cookbook called The diabetes weight loss cookbook. I also read some posts by Dr. Jason Fung who recommends intermittent fasting coupled with a low carb regime. We’ve tried two recipes so far from the diabetes weight loss cookbook and both have been very good. Also worth trying is the website for Diabetes.co.uk. The members area (totally free) has some interesting recipes.

I’m always interested in ready about new lifestyles, but this is dangerous. Encouraging people to not workout or move and eat less than 1000 calories a day is literally insane. This is an eating disorder waiting to happen and absolutely a hard no for me.

Brutal diet that I'll embark on reluctantly. Idk, vegetables with every single meal and no fruit might dissuade me. We'll see with this one.

An easy read, easy to follow and with lots of tips.

Inspired me to follow this lifestyle and so far I am doing well.

Will recommend this book to anyone who wants to tame their "sugar monster".
