Their Kitten

Rate this book
“You’re taking my brother so good, kitten…”

My name is Cleo Williams and I’ve been carrying a secret all my life. I intend for it to die with me. I have no regrets as I step into Heaven at Purgatory, a dark nightclub, intending to sell my virginity.

Until I realize who I’m selling it to.

Once upon a time, they were my best friends, the only family I’d ever known.

Eight years later, we’re nothing but strangers.

One night at Purgatory was supposed to be the start of my new life. A way to run away from my dark past and the two guys who I loved once.

Instead, selling my cherry became my worst nightmare when I sold it to Tristian and Talon, the two foster brothers whose father ruined my life eight years ago.

I know all their secrets.

But they don’t know mine, and never will.

THEIR KITTEN is a full-length dark menage romance with extreme themes. Read with caution… and a safeword. This book is a standalone ending with a HEA.

This. Books. SUCKS.

Seriously kids – it’s so freaking awful. AWFUL. I’m going to give an abbreviated summary and then tell you ALL the reasons I ended up hate reading this crap. Obviously – some of this will be spoilers so you’re warned.

Cleo (virgin) ends up at club Purgatory with Lucian (detailed in Book 1-whatever) because, duh, she needs money. The reason is apparently she has a guy she only went on two dates with who is obsessed with her, and she needs to leave town. Lucian books her immediately in Heaven, where everyone wears masks. She’s selling her virginity to two guys, Tristan and Talon, for $200k and things start out as normal as they can for this situation. They take her V card at 9% with absolutely NO prep. Then she freaks out when she realizes they are her former foster brothers. She puts a stop to everything and runs away, giving up the money. Apparently, she ran away from the foster family because their father was molesting her, and she didn’t want the guys to find out.

The guys are super pissed because she won’t tell them her name and they’re super rich and they don’t want her to try and blackmail them later on. They convince Lucian to offer her $400k for a repeat, except this time in Hell (where anything goes, including murder). Either they’re going to fuck the truth out of her or kill her because they can’t risk her damaging the business their dad built. Anyway - she agrees – and Tristan fucks her violently out of anger trying to figure out what her name is. The longer she refuses to tell them her name, the rougher he is. He whips her back until it’s raw and bleeding. She’s crying, begging, and bleeding from her vagina also. Finally, Talon steps in and takes a turn, and then the time is over. She agrees to let Talon drive her home. Then things get even stupider from there.

These are just my random thoughts about all the stupid shit.

If you can’t tell – I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CRAP.

Oh – absolutely NONE of the sex was good - not even the consensual stuff. I don’t think anyone ever actually climaxed - which was so weird. They talk about Tristan assaulting her for 2 solid hours, yet never once mention him climaxing.

I hated this book and someone should set it on fire.

So they beat and rape her basically (she said no multiple times, used her safe word) to ‘punish’ her. She just automatically forgives them each time. I like dark romance, but this crosses way too many lines. There’s no groveling, they just let the man, THEIR DAD, go after he molested her for years. No trying to make him go to jail, nothing. And we’re supposed to buy an ‘I’m sorry’ and oh we’re so happy together now! BS.

What in the hell did I just read. Abusive rapist MMC with ZERO redeeming qualities. Like girl he brutally raped you, made you bleed repeatedly from your nether regions, and you forgive him not even a page later…. He does this multiple times throughout the book!! The other MMC was alright after that first deplorable scene. Ugh gross. Avid dark romance reader but this was just maddening. Slapped a “I’m sorry!” And they rode off into the sunset.

When a trip up to heaven ends in hell.

Definitely dark and not for the faint of heart check the trigger warnings before you read.

Their Kitten follows Cleo Williams,
Tristan and Talon Steele. Once again an innocent girl ends up sacrificing herself due to desperation and ends up with cruel men. I read a lot of dark stories but more than once I was shocked by what happened. She was strong, resilient, and a fighter through and through and my heart hurt for everything she had endured. Can she survive what's in store for her?
This book is intense, dangerous, dark and dirty with a capital "D".
I must say I found it hard to like Tristan for most of the story and thought he got away without any repercussions for everything he did. As for the owner of Purgatory Lucian Black was unscrupulous as they come.

I received a free ARC through Booksprout an I'm voluntarily leaving my review.

This has got to be the worst book I’ve read all year. I can’t even articulate how bad it is and how much I disliked it. There is literally nothing I liked about the entire book.

The heroine is used and tortured throughout the book and she forgives it all instantly.

When down on her luck Cleo decided to sell her virginity at Purgatory, a club split into two areas. one with the protection of a safe word and a darker area where anything goes, she thought it would be a couple of hours of her life, with no names and masks on, they’d all have anonymity, and she’d walk out with enough money for a fresh start. Her clients were two twin brothers but when one of them used the other’s name she realised she knew them and panicked. With a lot to lose if their predilections were to be exposed the brothers enticed Cleo to come back to Purgatory and her story which began in Heaven soon descended into Hell.

This was a quick read with history between all three characters, they’d once been close but after the death of her mother, Cleo had ran not telling anyone what was going on leaving Tristan and Talon in the dark about why. It was definitely more towards the darker end of the scale especially towards the end where for me, the evil twin went too far and dubious consent went out the window and it became forced which was a pity as I had enjoyed this book up to that point. The scenes were graphic but ultimately what bothered me more was Cleo’s forgiveness. It just came just a little too quickly to be believable.

I was so excited to see that we were about to re-enter the Black Heart Romance Heaven & Hell Series and with a MFM romance. Sadly, I didn’t like any of the characters. Tristan was an irredeemable sadist. Talon was an enabler who lacked depth. Cleo was a hopeless mess of a girl who felt she deserved the treatment she endured because she had a secret she wouldn’t share.

And before going too much farther I need to add in a few warnings, which I usually avoid but they seem relevant

⚠️ SA & attempted rape by 2men who are not the H’s
⚠️ dubcon that turns into rape, more than once by a H
⚠️ childhood SA, flashbacks

What bothered me most about this whole story is the characters never redeemed themselves, the SA’s were all brushed past, and Cleo ultimately came across as someone who felt she deserved all the bad she’d encountered. She was a very broken character.

And while there is a time jumped epilogue the story felt unfinished. Yet there isn’t enough story left for there is be a second book about these characters. It’s a frustrating ending for sure.

As for the story itself, Cleo left the foster system and was brought into the Steele household as a young girl. She fit perfectly into the family. As time passed her foster brothers grew to live her as more than a sister. But tragedy struck and their mother passed. Shortly there after Cleo was taken from the home and the boys never forgave her abrupt departure. To them she abandoned them during their time of need.

Life hasn’t been great since leaving the Steelers home. Barely making it in life and on the run from a stalker Cleo decides to do what she believes is best. She sells her virginity in Heaven at Club Purgatory. Only things don’t go as planned and suddenly she is offered twice as much for a romp in Hell. What else is a broke, desperate girl to do but accept? $400k is a life changing amount of money after all.

Things quickly escalate for Cleo. She hears her foster brothers nickname during her encounter at Purgatory and suddenly freaks out. The men on the other hand have no clue their little plaything, Kitten, is their long forgotten foster sister. She is nothing more than someone who can ruin their lives, as far as they know. So brutal punishments ensue as Kitten refuses to reveal her true identity.

Enter two sleazy characters, a landlord and an ex who’s stalking Cleo, and this poor girl a walking sexual assault magnet. No one should ever have to endure what she does.

C. Hallman does it again!
Their Kitten is a menage MFM dark romance with secrets and intrigue and extreme themes of dub-con, degradation and pain. But there is also love, loyalty and a softness in the MMCs that leave you shaking your head from the emotional whiplash.

***Minor Spoilers Alert***

Cleo is Talon and Tristan's former foster sister. They were a happy family until the death of their mother. Soon after her passing, Cleo was not quite the same and then one day, she was gone. She left and was never heard from or seen again.

8 years later, she finds herself in dire straights and decides to sell her virginity in a sex club.
Tristan and Talon are members of this very secretive sex club, their desires met in the darkness and cloak of extreme confidentiality. If word got out that they pay for sex, their father's real estate empire would crumble. They should probably stop going, but the opportunity to have sex with a virgin is too hard to pass up.

Cleo starts to reconsider doing this, but $200K is a lot of money - it could help her get a car, find an apartment in a better neighbourhood and so much more. She must engage with them for at least 1 hour for half the money, 2 hours for all the money.

Discretion is key. They wear masks to conceal their identity and their real names are not to be used. Two beautiful men enter the room. Their bodies look like they've been sculpted from marble. She introduces herself as Kitten. They barely speak but Tristan makes a terrible mistake. He calls his brother by his nick name and Cleo freezes. She immediately knows who they are and uses the safe word to stop everything and get out. They were barely together for thirty minutes. She lost her virginity to them for nothing.

Here is where the story really begins. They are determined to find out who she is... how does she know them? will she ruin their life by exposing their secret?

Cleo is mortified and so scared. Did they recognize her? what do they want from her? Why can't they leave her alone? she cannot reveal her truths - it will shatter the boys she once loved.

While trying to unravel the secrets and reveal the true reason why she left them when they were younger, they can't help but fall for each other and entangle themselves in an intense, passionate sexual relationship, it's only a matter of time before one, or all of them catch deeper feelings, and get hurt.

Tristan is intense - he has so much anger brewing just beneath his surface. He takes so much of it out on Cleo in ways that may be difficult for some readers.

Talon is the softer one of the brothers - a lover, not a fighter, and although he does not know why Cleo left or why she keeps trying to hurt them and push them away, he believes she is lying to keep a secret protected.

There were moments when I felt that Cleo was too understanding, too forgiving. I wanted to yell at her for "just letting it go", but I appreciate that this is just who she is: selfless, forgiving. She also blames herself for a lot of things. She can't help but wonder, if she had been honest from the beginning, maybe she wouldn't be in this predicament.
I typically don't like it when the FMC is so pliable and "it's ok, you didn't mean to almost kill me, I forgive you" but the author made it work well enough that I could see past this.

Tristan and Talon want Cleo. And they want to show her how they can make her feel so good. They also want to keep her safe, protect her from her slimy landlord and her former boyfriend turned stalker. But will they still want her when the secret is out?

Please read the trigger warning before reading.

I received a free copy of this book, and this review is my opinion

“Their Kitten” is part of the “Black Heart Romance presents Heaven & Hell.” Cleo (aka Kitten) has had pretty rough and traumatic up bringing in the foster care system. One home in particular she loved the most was with her foster brothers Tristan and Talon and their parents. Cleo and her foster brothers are extremely close, until everything changes. When the boys mum passes away, things change and not for the better. Cleo makes the decision to leave, breaking the her and the boys heart, with no explanation.

Years latter, Cleo is struggling financially and about to be evicted. She makes the hard decision to sell her virginity for $200,000 at Club Purgatory, to give her financial stability. The club has two levels and she chooses “Heaven”, where she has a safe word that will stop everything, no reason required. All three are masked for anonymity. All goes well until a nickname is used between the men - Cleo freezes and uses the safe word as she knows who they are. They cannot know who she is, she needs to protect herself. She walks away with nothing.

Tristan and Talon are the heirs to one of the biggest realestate companies in the country. They are worried about their “extra curricular” activities being made public and through Lucien, the owner of the club, double to offer to $400,000 for two hours. The condition is that it is to take place in “Hell” - there are no safe words, no rules, no limits of what can be done and NO masks to hide identities. Surprisingly, Cleo agrees …. will the recognise her?

The story is very fast paced and full of twists and turns! You have betrayal, love, tears, power, action and passion. The heat between Tristan, Talon and Cleo is off the page 🥵🥵 There is never a dull moment! This book is everything you expect from a dark MFM love triangle romance!

A thoroughly enjoyable read from one chapter to the next - at times you are metaphorical “on the edge of your chair” wondering what will happen next. You will fall in love with Tristan, Talon and Cleo, hoping that everything with work out for them and if they have a future together. Overall, I would highly recommend this book and you will not be disappointed 😊

Cleo Williams has heard about a great opportunity to make some money and then start a new life away from her stalker ex-boyfriend. She is selling her virginity at the sex club Purgatory; she has been given the chance to lose it to two guys and she can get double the money. Easy right, that is until she's about to give herself and she hears the voices and names of the two men and she has to put a stop to this before it goes further. The two men Tristan and Taylor are her two former foster brothers. Two men she had hoped to never see again after she left in the middle of the night. It is a life she has been running away from ever since she was 15 years old after their mother Mara Steele passed away. The men though aren't going to back down and one way or another, they will find out about their mysterious virgin aka Kitten. What will happen though when they track her down and discover her true identity and the past for all three of them come rushing back in waves? I don't normally enjoy a lot of Dark Romance as they can be just pure smutty filth, but C. Hallman is one of my favorites as her characters all have a bit of depth to them and brokenness which makes Their Kitten a great read and not a pure smut read like say Flora Ferrari/ Sylvia Fox's titles. If you love your dark romance sexy with a bit of grit and substance then C.Hallman and her book "Their Kitten" is the R18 read for you.

This story was really bad. I cannot believe the author wrote this bc I absolutely love ALL of her other books which are typically 4-5 star reads for me l. this was a flaming pile of shit. I really hate being so negative or critical but this is possibly one of the worst books I’ve read. There weren’t any grammatical mistakes and no inconsistencies, it’s really just the story itself and the structure. It’s like the publisher told her she has 2 days to write a novel and this is the result. There really was no real story. I mean the conflict is literally resolved within 1 page.

I typically hate when people give books low rating bc of the story. But here I am! But I think my issue is moreso the story structure. I can see if this was a storyboard or the outline , the story had SOOO much potential! This could e been such a good story but the first 70% of the story is literally them torturing her with sex to try to get her to tell them her name. I guessed the twist within thr first few pages. Honestly the first half of the book could’ve been us actually with them during that time period and then we come to her being desperate and seeing what she went through at the other homes and meeting her ex and fleeing him then running into the guys as she is desperate for money and then the fall out. I mean we are just told the guys are pissed bc she left after their mom died but it’s not like they try to actually figure anything out. Like they are complete idiots! Also suddenly when it’s revealed they immediately believe her bc the dad had been accused before and they cut all ties immediately. Like there was. I actual conflict. I want her to see a doctor bc her vagina has been through literal hell lol

No mention of birth control I assumed she would be pregnant. Also they propose, but no discussion of the logistics of how this will work. She is suddenly this sex crazed sex pot who just wants to bang all day. What the hell did I just read? I mean other reviews hate it bc they think one of the H is irredeemable. I’m not upset about his character. But they are just all too stupid for words

Their Kitten is the sixth book in the Black Heart Romance presents Heaven & Hell Series. A spicy full-length standalone dark menage romance with extreme themes. There's no cheating or cliffhanger and ends with a oh so satisfying happily-ever-after. Read with caution… and a safeword. A dark, twisted, sultry, and sinful story. An absorbing addicting and unputdownable read. Hang on to your kindle and brace yourself for this tantalizing rollercoaster ride of emotions and cravings as you follow these characters and you will fall in love right along with them. This book demands to be read and screamed escape from the everyday life and gave that something extra that you craved and never knew that you needed. A brilliantly written story with complex individuals and a twisty storyline that grabs you by the throat and never let you go and keeps you hooked and on the edge of your seat and turning the pages. Wow is all that I can say about this series. Hot! Hot! Hot. Pitch dark and filthy and just the way how I like it. This is Cleo, Talon and Tristan story which is told from a multiple point of view.
An enemies-to-lovers romance, hate-to-love vibes story, morally-gray antihero story, why-choose romance, dark romance, MFM story, forced proximity story, virgin heroine story, sex club story, reverse harem romance, gothic romance contemporary romance, foster-brothers-foster-sister story with Non-Con, Dub-Con, debauchery, kidnapping, lies, drama, darkness, madness, tension, violence, depravity, degradation, angst, anger, bondage, dominance, submission, dirty talking, abuse, rape, hurt and pain, auction/bought, sold/own, twists and turns, revelations, mystery, surprises, possessiveness, obsession, power and control, forgiveness, acceptance, sex and sin, enemies, survival, hatred, fear, consenual intense rough sex, guilt, blackmail, revenge, retaliation, resilience, resentment, deception, healing, betrayal, losses, trauma, jealousy,, love, heartbreak, attempted rape, attack, spanking, violence, passion and so much more.
Cleo Williams has had a very rough upbringing riddle with physical, emotional mental and psychological and verbal abuse. She's broke and on the verge of being evicted. She's desperate, starving and needs money and will do anything. The only she has to offer is her virginity. She heard about Purgatory an exclusive sex club owned by Lucian Black from a third hand source. Purgatory is club where the rich goes to satisfy their dark depraved needs. She's scared by she thought that one night won't be bad and she will walk away being able to pay all her bills. The club is consist of different levels Heaven and Hell. Lucian tells her that he will but her in Heaven which was completely tame compare to downstairs. She will be paired by up with two men for two hours, and they will buy her virginity for two hundred thousand dollars. She could do so much things with that money. She need to participate for at least an hour half the time they're paying for or else she doesn't get anything money. Cleo have no regrets as she stepped into Heaven at Purgatory, a dark nightclub, intending to sell her virginity. Until she realize who she selling it to. Once upon a time, they were her best friends, the only family she'd ever known. Eight years later, They're nothing but strangers.
When Tristan uses Talon nickname Cleo freezes and uses her safeword because she realize that she knows the guys.
Tristan and Talon Steele are heirs to the biggest real estate company in the city. Therefore, they cannot allow any scandal or for anyone to know that they're buying sex. They went back into the club to ask Lucian her name but Lucian is a stickler when it was to confidentiality agreement. They feared that the girl would blackmail them. Tristan ask Lucian to negotiate a new deal with her and this time they will double and she would make more in two hours. But this time they do it downstairs in Hell, where it is Dark. Dangerous. There are no limits, no rules and no safeword when they go down there. They're trying to get information from her and they know that Hell is the only place that they would get their answers. Lucian tells the guys that he doesn't believe that she will go for it because if she used her safeword in Heaven, why the hell do they think that she's going to let them take her down to Hell. But Tristan believes that she would take the deal. He tells Lucian that he would be surprised at what the desperate will do for money. Tristan has a very dark side and when he goes down to Hell Talon is scared of him.
He worry about their mystery lady. Cleo put on a whole lot of makeup so that that the guys would not recognize her. Tristan was brutal and vicious with Cleo's body for the two hours. He even forcible rape and her spank her until she was bleeding and Talon had to stop him because he thought that he was going to kill her. All that torture and brutally and he couldn't break her which only him more mad. When Talon took her home because she couldn't barely walk he realize why she sold her virginity. It was that tidbit of information that they were able to get closer to the mystery. Cleo had rented to apartment in their mother Mara Steele their dead mother's name. This send Tristan on a murderous ramp page because she knew too much about them and they didn't know anything about her. There was an accident which send Cleo to the hospital and when Talon took her back to her apartment he decided to stay. It was then while snooping through her stuff that he found an old picture of the three of them. When he confronted and really looked at her then the picture, he realized that it was Cleo.
Talon couldn't believe that it was Cleo their foster-sister who they had fucked and abused for two hours in Hell. Talon had always been pissed at her because she left right after their mother died. He and Tristan needed her and she bailed on them off to the next family pieces of trash that she no longer had use for. Cleo still wouldn't tell him why she bailed on them. Talon kept the secret of her identity from his brother because he knew that it wouldn't be good if he found out that it was Cleo. Tristan had always had feelings for her when they were growing up and not in the brother and sister kind of way. Tristan couldn't stop thinking about her after that night and know that he wasn't going to let her go. He became possessive, obsessive and jealousy of her even with his brother. It was supposed to be only one night with her getting her cherry pop but nothing went as it was supposed to be. Because her pass came crashing back into her life. Tristan and Talon are night and day.
Tristan is explosive, cruel, unhinged and psychopathic, where as Talon is empathic, compassion, nurturing and calm. Cleo was living in a dump where her sleazy landlord tried to rape her which sent Tristan on a murderous rampage and almost pound him to death. He start having feelings for her, she gotten under his skin. What will he do when he finds out that it is Cleo? Will he forgive his brother for keeping her identify from him? Will she tell them all that she had been through since she left? Will they get their happily ever after? Or will their dad get in their way of happiness?

Every awful thing about toxic men

Do you hate yourself? Do you think you’re scum, worthless and revolting? If not, this story isn’t for you.
I have never read a book with main characters who were so unforgivable, so irredeemable as these two men. I’m sure I cannot be explicit in my review, but the things they did to FMC, straight to jail. Let me be clear… these were acts of violence. Not consensual, not cnc.
In addition to the physical harm they inflicted, the mental A B U S E was astounding. I found myself screaming furious anger for 70% of the book. It’s truly unbelievable that someone could write this as if the MFM ending up together is HEA. Sure, if your version is literal H E L L.
SPOILERS AHEAD
SPOILERS AHEAD
….
….
….
Cleo is broke, has a bad job, living in a dilapidated apartment run by a slum lord-grap-ist (yep). For some reason, she is connected to the guy who owns this “Purgatory” smex club and his clients pay big bucks to pop cherries. She’s desperate and wants to go back to school, pay off her debts, etc, and is of course incredibly beautiful, so she signs a contract for one evening with two clients (at the same time) for $200k. Things go very wrong when during the act she recognizes the two masked individuals (they’re all masked) as her former foster brothers. Well, she was the foster kid and they were the biological sons to the foster parents. She was moved to another family after their mom died and for some reason the brothers blame HER (a child…in the foster system) for “leaving/abandoning” them. Luckily, they don’t recognize her, but she recognizes them. She freaks out understandably, and when one of them tries to remove her mask, she uses her safe word to end the scene. They all have to leave as per the rules and she doesn’t get paid because she wasn’t in the session long enough.
Because the men are pompous self-serving a-holes who think they have the right to control everyone and everything, they are incensed by the fact that they were rejected by this person and that it appears she knows them, but they don’t know her. Somehow, this is her holding power over them, which is bologna, but men in their fragile egos.
They are so unhinged that they manipulate her into another session at double the price, but this time in their “hell” basement, where there are no safe words, masks or limits. Their behavior up to this point is abhorrent in my opinion, and I am very sad to see any hetero woman convinced that these are redeemable qualities in a man, but what they proceeded to do next honestly should put them in prison for life. I’m not exaggerating. These are crimes.
I don’t wanna go into any more detail because it is so ridiculous to me that this is being sold as a love story, even a dark romance has limits, so I’m just gonna jump to the end. She doesn’t give them her name and they don’t recognize her face, which angers them further. The next steps they decide to take are as follows: bribery, stalking, stealing, DV, kidnapping, coercion and manipulation, threats, more bribery, and more grape.
Honestly, by the time they get to another round of ménage at her apartment after the hospital (because one of them stabbed her), I stopped reading. The only way this story could be satisfying to me is if both men were drawn and quartered with a dull blade.

Well I really was just taken on the ride of my life and completely blown away in all the best ways . C Hallman nailed it and delivered one of the best books I’ve read this year . Their Kitten really was and is everything, i mean everything. It’s an emotional rollercoaster that plays on all your emotions in ways you won’t even be expecting. You’ll experience everything from being utterly speechless, to yelling outta pure frustration. Your heart will feel like it’s beating so fast and then bam being crushed with tears streaming down your face , you’ll be glued to the edge of your seat anticipating what will happen from one second to the next . You’ll smile , you’ll laugh And you’ll find yourself rooting so freaking hard . Cleo , Tristan and Talons love story is not an easy one by any means , in fact my heart really was put through the wringer , I felt like it was being ripped right of of my chest and then C Halman managed to put it right back together. Our Heroine Cleo never saw the tragedy she was going to experience coming , sure she was a foster child , sure her life was anything but perfect, but there were so many good things about it as well . Until her stepmom dies of cancer and everything shatters . She’s been trying her hardest to support herself and ends up selling herself for money . What she never saw coming was Talon and Tristan . **Book Review: Their Kitten by C. Hallman**

In Their Kitten, C. Hallman dives deep into the murky waters of love, betrayal, and dark desires. Cleo Williams, a former foster sister to Tristian and Talon, is back in their lives—but not by choice. Selling her virginity at a secretive nightclub, she unknowingly finds herself face-to-face with the very men who once loved her, only to be haunted by a past filled with pain.

This MFM dark romance grips you from the start, filled with emotional whiplash as secrets unravel and relationships deepen. The stakes couldn’t be higher: Cleo’s life is at a crossroads, and the brothers are tangled in their own conflicting desires and family legacies. Talon’s softer side contrasts sharply with Tristian’s brooding intensity, creating a complex dynamic that keeps you invested.

The narrative teeters between steamy encounters and heart-wrenching revelations, making it impossible to put down. Hallman skillfully explores themes of forgiveness and selflessness, showcasing Cleo’s struggle to protect her past while navigating a tangled web of desire and danger. The emotional depth and chemistry between the characters is electric, leaving you breathless and yearning for more.

With twists that will keep you guessing and moments that tug at your heartstrings, Their Kitten is a provocative journey you won’t want to miss. Will the brothers embrace their feelings once the truth comes to light? Get ready for an exhilarating ride!

I think this book is in the Heaven & Hell realm written by a variety of authors, including C. Hallman.

I sometimes feel that I have to be a detective just to find out if this is the first book in a series or are there other books in the series. Which I find important because I want to read the other books in the series first. FYI you can read this book as a standalone.

Lucian Black owns Purgatory a sex club. “The levels of the sex club are Heaven - where everything is light and consensual, and H-E-double-hockey-sticks is dark and dangerous.

“There are no limits, no rules and no safewords.”

Cleo Williams is about to sell her virginity to Tristan and Talon Steele on the Heaven level.

Cleo is about to be evicted, and starvation is a real risk. She is selling her virginity for a lot of money. The amount that she will be paid should keep her safe and sound for a while.

Cleo uses her safe word less than hour into their bargain when she hears one of their names. That was accidentally mentioned. Now she knows their identity. She gets out of the club as fast as she can, after having given her virginity. Now she gets nothing for the cost of her virginity. What happens now?

Wow a book with a safe word and I didn't have to use it!  I loved reading Their Kitten and you can bet that I will be reading more of C. Hallman's books!  Do checkout the TW's if you have them.

Star Rating : 3 / 5 Stars

POV : Multiple

Cliffhanger : None

Pace of the story : Moderate

Angst Rating : 3/10

Heat Rating : 5/10

Overall Opinion :
This one is a standalone MFM romance which will keep you hooked till the very end. I started this one with very high hopes as the story was amazing from the start. The plot kept me hooked along with the angst scenes too. I kept waiting for some major reveal regarding the characters and when that happened , I was not disappointed.

However after a certain point , the book seemed too dark and even though I was invested , I wanted so much groveling from the heroes. The kind of things they did , it was just too much to just look away because of a simple misunderstanding. In the end when I got next to no grovel with just everything going normal after a simple “sorry , I will do better , it is what it is” I completely lost interest in the book.

The connection the characters previously had now seemed fake to me and I just could not read anything further. This turned into a rage read for me lol as I really wanted that grovel. I wish we got that because when we have chapters upon chapters about how the H ruins the h , we at least deserve a chapter or too about grovel or payback. But nope , we were slapped with a pointless HEA.

This one was a one time read for me that started as a solid ⅘ star read but then turned to a ⅕ one by the end.

Again....in Purgatory!

C. Hallman comes back to Club Purgatory, this time with a dark MFM menage romance, taboo, forbidden, intriguing, dangerous and a h€ll lot of spicy.

**Sensitive readers beware of TWs**

Cleo needs money and what better option does she have besides selling her innocense at Heaven, in Club Purgatory? None. There, the money will be plenty, somewhat 'easy, not painless but hopefully fast.....

It only took one name exchange, between her buyers and she knew she had to get out of that session fast....with no money and no innocense.

Talon and Tristan, wealthy twins, up for a night of pleasure far from the public eye in a very discret club, whose confidelity holds behind masks, become completly dumbfounded when their Kitten (as self intoduced) whose v¡rg¡n¡ty they bought goes into a panic and out of the club before they understand what's going on. Now they want to find her and get justifications, as well as finish what they started.

This is a story of three with a past, a disappearence, a secret and a reunion that'll cost Cleo the pressure to hold her tong about the twins membership at Purgatory, a lot of explanations and punishment, sometimes painful and degrading, sometimes sweet and decadent. Three prptagonosts navigating life through a convergence of internal turmoils, external reactions and family legacy, in an intense sexu@l relationship between the opposites that attract a Kitten, the one that glues them together, the one that can destoy it all........
Raw, gritty and unappologetically twisted.

Two brothers brutally rape their childhood foster sister who they don’t recognize because she is too embarrassed to tell them her name.

Still interested in reading this train wreck? I’ll go on.

After brutally raping and abusing her, they get miraculous personality transplants and start to act like completely different people who are now falling for her despite having basically no interactions with her. The inconsistency in not just all of their personalities but the plot and writing overall is sloppy, jarring and off-putting.

And if her own foster brothers raping her isn’t enough, two more men in the book assault and almost rape her plus mentions of another man assaulting her from her childhood are discussed on page. Apparently every man in this book is a rapist.

When the one brother gets mad at the FMC his default is to abuse and rape her. Because, guess what? He doesn’t just do it in the beginning of the book. Nope, he does it at the end too! And then the FMC says it’s okay because she made him angry and it was her fault. WHAT IN THE VICTIM BLAMING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE BULLSHIT IS THAT.

Oh and then right after she gets raped again by her foster brother, both of her brothers confess their love for her and she says she loves them back and then they decide to get married.

It’s like some inexperienced teen went on watt pad to write what they thought a dark romance book is about. Save yourself the time and avoid this book.

Their Kitten left me with mixed feelings because there were things I liked and disliked about this story. I love dark, gritty, possessive romances and there's a lot that I'm open to when it comes to stories because they are just that, stories. However, even I have a limit, and I have never read a book where the main character is physically assaulted & raped so much in my life. There's a knife handle, a gun, fingers and penises. Cleo has to have the worst luck EVER! Her stepfather, her ex, her apartment manager and even though I know she visited "PURGATORY" even what happened in the hell scene with Tristan and Talon was a lot, especially when it left her with blood trailing down her legs. There was so much more that happened, but I don't want to give it all away. I will say that readers looking to stay away from rape scenes should skip this book. With that being said I have mixed feelings because I love dark reads and this one did not disappoint on that end, however, as I mentioned above, even I have limits, and this book definitely pushed that for me. It wasn't a terrible read but it wasn't necessarily my type of read with what went on in the story. It most definitely is a one-time type of read for me.

We are back at Purgatory and I love when Cassy writes her books there. We get to see Lucian again and get to meet new characters. She takes us to Heaven and Hell and if you haven’t been here before, Heaven has a safe word and limits, while Hell is no holds barred and anything goes. There are no safe words in Hell and some don’t make it out. Cleo needs money so she can pay for a better life for herself, so she goes to Purgatory to sell her virginity. She wasn’t expecting seeing two people from her past. Tristen and Talon are brothers and buy Cleo for two hours, and when she safe words them after a slip, they want to find out who she is and if she will cause problems for them in the future. Cassy pulls us into a dark world with twists, suspense, drama, surprises, revelations, reconnections and truths. The truths that Cleo holds could hurt them more than anything. I was so hooked that I read this in one sitting. I just couldn’t put it down. Welcome to Purgatory where there really is Heaven and Hell. Welcome back if you’ve been here before. Get ready for a ride. Will you make it out? 😏😏

I usually love books from C. Hallman, but I didn't enjoy this one. The book in tone and subject matter is dark. It's not the story for the light of hearts. My biggest gripe with the book is that there was no real accountability or consequences for anyone other than the FMC. Cleo was repeatedly mistreated and she did nothing wrong. Even if she had done bad things, she still wouldn't have deserved what she went through. The beginning was rushed and Cleo was too forgiving. There's a line that can be crossed in dark romances. Does this book cross the line? No, but it tip toes around it. Books can have morally black characters and have dark subject matter that lowers your mood or makes you queasy, but how it's presented, executed, and developed that decides whether it's a good book. This book is not a bad book, but the lack of development in 2 out of the 3 main characters, and its reliance on shocking events to motivate the reader to continue to read, and weak plot are the reasons I give this book 3 stars and I feel so bad. I don't like to give 3 stars or lower. This one from C. Hallman was just a miss for me.

It is dark, many triggers so there will be knife play, forcing where safe words don't work and there is no helping out of a situation. Child / teenage molestation and a scene of rape with a gun. Tristian and Talon are brothers, and their parents were foster family to Cleo 8 years ago, nowhere was it mentioned in this story of their ages other than Tristian is the older brother. When the boy's mom passed away possibly from cancer (mentioning treatments, so I'm assuming cancer). This is where Cleo will be experiencing things, for a while, no child should feel especially for a father figure, so she got the social worker to get her away and that was the last time she saw the Steele Brothers, she never said goodbye. The boys took it very hard and 8 years later life gave them a unexpected chance with Cleo but they did know it was her and they did some depraved things to her. Will she ever tell them the truth of why she ran? or will she run and not get her HEA?.

Normally, I am a fan of dark romance, but for some reason, this one was hard even for me to read. Some of the things that happened to this poor girl had me literally turning off my kindle and taking a break. If you are a sensitive reader, read the trigger warnings.

Their Kitten is a dark romance that follows Cleo Williams, and Tate and Tristan Steele. Desperate for money, Cleo heads to Purgatory to sell her virginity in Heaven, a floor designed for the dark and gentle fantasies, but when the time comes, she hears something that makes her realize that she knows the “strangers” so she panic’s, using her safe word and pushing them out of the room. When the brothers realize that she knows them, they’ll stop at nothing to get their answers.. Including offering her more money, this time in Hell where the clients are allowed to do whatever they want. Will Cleo be able to take the punishment that the brothers hand out? Or will whatever small amount of feelings she had be ruined by their actions?

expected better

The book started off promisingly enough. But then there was very little foreplay or romance which is what this book is supposed to be. Even if it is a dark romance. the FMC has all the blame put on her and is abused multiple times and apologizes for smaller mistakes that she feels earned her the much larger repercussions of abuse. Ex: keeping a secret so she gets SAd but she apologizes. It never balances out either. The MMC never has character growth, takes no accountability for their actions and shove the blame on her and though this book is a dark romance, there is a different between sexy dark and whatever this was. This book left me frustrated and not in a good way. The HEA seemed rushed. Plot twist was chaotic and also rushed. Just seemed like an overall not well thought out book with lots of violent rushed scenes that i wouldn’t even consider spicy because they lacked any real detail. And Hallman has some great books so I’m not sure what happened here. Just an overall disappointing read.

Kinks/Tropes: foster brothers, mfm, stalking, NC/CNC, spanking/whipping, bondage, toys, anal, threesome

Thoughts:

Okay so I’m pissed, most of the sexual scenes in this book involved the FMC being tortured by one of the MMCs. His apologies were bullshit and yeah while she kept a secret and said something messed up, he took it way too far. His attitude and reactions just make him seem like a SPOILED TRUST FUND BRAT. The other MMC was clearly the more adult and level-headed enabler of the two.

Now since it is MFM I was hoping for some good sex scenes. The ones that were conceptual were fast and mostly fade to black. The ones that weren’t, were in explicit details. Look I have read dark books before, but to have the only anal scene be where he is forcing a large dildo in her virginity ass with minimal lubricant is unacceptable.

This book and the last few books in this series left a sour taste in my mouth. The one brother was redeemable, the other could have fallen off a cliff for all I care. Wouldn’t read this series again.

Darkest One Yet

This one was a lot to take in. Very emotional and intense at times. Definitely one of the darkest reads I’ve ever read before. I do love a good dark romance with a dangerous antihero or two and Hallman has always created that perfect dynamic in other books that I’ve read. Hallman and Beck are my go-tos for a good dark romance thrill ride type of story.

This one pushes the limits to the brink and really shocked me a few times. As always the writing and character development is done well. The storyline is good with the innocent girl having to sacrifice herself to the bad guys in an act of desperation. The triggers are a lot so definitely check out the list provided before reading. Overall, it’s a well done dark romance, but it’s darker than some may be comfortable with so prepare yourself.
