Think you know about gargoyles? The beautiful winged race disappeared eight hundred years ago. When they last walked the earth, they traveled in close-knit packs, their throats marked with ancient runes. Their greatest enemies were the ugly and brutal harpies that people today mistake for gargoyles.

After escaping his unwanted past as a notorious young womanizer in thirteenth century England, Victor has set his sights on modern-day Samantha Evans. But Sam's been burned before by guys with extreme good looks. And she's determined to steer clear of the mouthwatering gargoyle. But Victor is used to getting what he wants. And what he wants is Samantha. Only Sam's willpower—and a meddlesome bit of magic—stand in his way.

3.5 stars — Victor’s book gave me a few surprises, had me frustrated, and made me say NOPE on 2 occasions…but all in all I was pretty satisfied with his story.

I will admit that I was a bit bummed that Victor and Sam didn’t get quite as much time together as other couples…I felt like I saw Victor with Alexa more than Sam, just by the nature of the plot. It felt a bit like Defiance’s book in that way. So that was a wee bit unsatisfying. But I did enjoy the connection that I did see eventually develop between them. And Victor was pretty cute in the way that he was so desperate for any scraps she would give him.

However, the two NOPES happened in their relationship…ish. First, their first kiss tripped my consent radar. It wasn’t the worst, but Victor definitely didn’t listen to her, and I was bummed about that. The second was when he was watching her at the party and mentioned her clothes were too tight/short, and he didn’t want other guys seeing that. That’s a nope from me. I don’t appreciate that kind of possessiveness in a guy, it’s just not my thing. Luckily it was kind of a throwaway thought and nothing came of it…he never said anything to her, so it saved it from being worse.

The Alexa stuff frustrated me to a small degree — it just felt so obvious to the reader, and at times I was at the end of my rope waiting for someone else to figure it out. There was a point in the story where I was like “if they don’t figure it out here, I’m out.” Luckily, they figured it out. The conclusion of that plotline was actually pretty satisfying, if slightly anti-climatic.

I think what I really enjoyed the most was all the other stuff going on. My heart hurt for Hooligan. I loved seeing the dynamics of the pack and how they were shifting. The ending and the introduction of a new character took me completely by surprise. And I finally got my suspicions confirmed on some Havoc stuff that had me excited.

Not much by way of the missing gargoyles, so I’m curious to see what their books are going to be like. I was a bit surprised by that.

All in all, I was entertained, with just a few nopes to drop my rating by a half star.

I just really love this series. I've been looking forward to Victor pretty much since Chaos was published. Once again, the author did not disappoint. I've read all the vampire, shifter, and mermaid young adult stuff, but this series was my first introduction to gargoyles. It's so creative and so different than anything I've read before. I'll definitely be recommending this book, and I'll be anxiously awaiting Number Seven.

I absolutely love Victor to bits and if I didn't I might have given this book 4/5 stars instead. The reason is that I felt like the story dragged a bit and Victor was often portrayed as the Victim of the story at every corner.

I wanted to see more of Victor's cool headed decisions, awesome leadership skills and strong self-discipline. And don't get me wrong I got to see all that in this book ;) but not enough.

Unfortunately I didn't really love Samantha either, Spoiler ALERT:

I mean seriously she was not only strongly prejudice (which I could overlook under her circumstances) but she also got drunk and nearly slept with some random and behaved off her head (which was really unattractive) then she dated some nice guy for no reason (really if you ask me she's the player) and finally she admits that all along she was in love with Victor (say what!!) she sure had a strange way of showing it... I felt like she was going to or in the future will break his heart. She didn't come across as particularly nice the entire book. And even though Victor said he fell in love when he saw her help a little boy, that's literally some of the only acts of kindness you get to see from her... Yes I'm being like waaaaaaaay too harsh and I know that. It's just that Victor is probs my favorite and I wanted to see him with a girl who deserves him and him exerting his leadership... not resorting to stalk a girl who constantly rejects and accuses him.

All being said and done I could never give this book less than a 5 star because it's Victor's book but it probably isn't my favorite story so far, which makes me sad. I definitely don't hate Sam or even necessarily dislike her, I just disliked the situation and think he deserved better.

Regardless Thank you Taylor Longford for another awesome book and Thank you for the five previous book ;) I could never be an author and I understand it must be extremely hard and you can't please everyone all the time.

This was, by far, the most awaited one for me. I knew Victor was going to be an interesting character to get inside of, and Taylor Longford did not disappoint. Eight hundred years ago, Victor was known as the womanizer, the Golden one. He had the women, and they loved him. Eight hundred years pass, and now we have Samantha, who Victor is mooning over and she wants nothing to do with him. I've never rooted so hard for a guy to get the girl in my life.

I also enjoyed the introduction of a newer and much more dangerous villain. I can't wait until the next one comes out so we can see more of her and all the devious things she gets up to.

A few errors were found throughout the novel, but they were few and far between so they can easily be overlooked. Otherwise, this was another amazing read from this author, and I recommend it to anyone who prefers this genre.

Ahhhh to have the villain not be a harpy! I kinda saw it coming but I didnt realize just how awful they would be though! I would stop reading and just be like NO! No no NO!!! but I love how that was resolved in the end AH!!! Justice! I fell even more in love with Havoc in this book. He is just the bee's freakin knees man... from start to finish!
As for Victor and Sam... meh I really didnt care much for either... I liked Victor in the other books but I found his tactics a little stalker like... :/ I'm sorry! I feel kinda bad that I didnt like his romantic moves since I like him in just about ever other role. And Sam... meh I suppose I get the heart break by a handsome dude but she just kinda felt flat to me... again I feel awful about that but its true... probably my least favorite couple so far... that being said I still loved the book and all the new developments! :D

This is a great series! Each book is from one of the gargoyles perspective and this one is obviously Victor's. I really liked Victors story it brings in story lines for the next books and keeping things fresh. The romance was not immediate which I like it was slow growing and interesting.

Ehhh....well, it really annoys me in books when people are in loooooove, yet they don't even know a single thing about one another. This book is a prime example of that. Still like the series, but this is probably my least favorite of them.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Victor’s playboy past makes him an unexpectedly vulnerable hero when he meets Samantha, a cautious and strong-willed woman determined not to fall for charm alone. Their banter, tension, and slow shift from wariness to love make this entry a sweet and sexy addition to the series, with a sprinkle of magic for good measure.

I have been speeding through all of these books. They're that good. I'm trying to slow down though, because I know once I finish the eighth book it might still be a while before the ninth comes out, and I don't know if I could handle the pressure. :)

I got the first book free on my kindle, and after that I was hooked. Taylor does an amazing job with her books, and I can't wait to read the rest.

This is kind of my review of all of them, which I love to death. And I think I love each book a little more than the last, just because I keep getting more and more invested in these characters and the happy ending that I hope they all eventually get to (fingers crossed).

In this book, I do have to say that I hated Alexa. Those of you who have already read these books know what I'm talking about. I didn't like her from the beginning, but I really hated her in this book. And I don't want to spoil anything, but when she finally does the thing that basically takes her out of the equation, I was so freaking happy.

All of these books are definitely going in my favorites list, and they are definitely books that I'll want to reread at some point in the future.

Again, more of the same.

I'm getting more and more irritated by the overuse (and misuse) of the word "rasped." A rasp is not a low, sexy murmur as the author would have you believe. A rasp is a grating, wheezy sound. Argh! I know the author's trying to make the boys sound sexy and alluring, but when they "rasp" something, I can't help but imagine them speaking like they've just been half-strangled! Drives me crazy!

The whole pairing up the guys with the first eligible female they meet is beyond irritating too, but that's nothing new and if you've gotten this far in the series, you'll have accepted it by now. It's eye-rolling for sure, but at least most of the girls are likable.

Victor was as good a story as any of them, and it was unique in that it threw a new villain into the mix. Even though I like Victor as a character, I think I like reading about him more from other character's points of view. Throughout this story, I kept forgetting who was narrating!

Still, I enjoyed the story and look forward to the next installment.

I enjoyed the latter part the most after Victor & Sam were together, with the introduction of a new villain and the set up for the next couple of stories about Force & Courage. Really interesting and challenging bad guy – looking forward to seeing where that goes. In terms of our featured couple I really liked Victor but found Sam a little frustrating with her refusal to give Victor a chance despite having feelings for him. I didn’t have a problem with her initial reaction and turning him down in the beginning but it was annoying when she kept doing it it, clinging to her prejudices even tho she was interested and he hadn’t done anything to show he was untrustworthy.

The Greystone Novels are awesome. I love the entire world Taylor Longford has created. Victor was my least favorite of the books so far. I can't put my finger on what it is particularly, I just didn't click with Victor. In saying that, it's still a really great read and leads beautifully into the next book, Force, which I have already started and am thoroughly enjoying :)

Victor is still definitely worth reading. I love Taylor's style and the characters she has created. I also love the way we get to keep in touch with the characters from the previous stories :) Such a great series :)
