Despite growing up a bounty hunter, being taken seriously is a constant struggle for 24-year-old Audrey Stroop. When she stumbles across information on Corbin Lagos, she recognizes the chance of a lifetime.
One blizzard and a car accident later, she wakes up in gorgeous Corbin’s bed. She doesn’t know how he’ll react if he discovers that the woman he rescued intends to haul him in. She also can’t fight her attraction to him.
He’s nothing like the men she typically seduces and discards. He’s dominant. He’s dangerous. And he’s going to explode her life into a million tiny pieces.
If Cleo isn't writing (or reading!) erotica, she's probably sitting on her balcony, watching the wind blow through the trees. She loves snowstorms, horses, and piña coladas. If she won the lottery, she would hire an assistant to take care of the technical side of e-publishing so that she could write all day.
Some random facts about Cleo: 1. Thinks life's too short to forgo HEAs and HFNs. 2. Sprained an ankle joining the mile-high club. (Never again!) 3. Favorite writers include Cormac McCarthy, Junot Diaz and Rachel Caine. 4. Gets weak-kneed for bookish guys who know how to fix things with their hands. *swoons*
This is one of those unexpected ones for me. As in, unexpected I'd read it. I think? For one: it's erotica. For another (second): it involves a man and a woman. And, for that matter, for a third: this is one of those "love for creepy guy/criminal guy" type of book I'd normally put on either (or both) my "punch in dick" or my "..." I forget what the other negative shelf is titled.
Right, so. Why'd I read/try it? Well, I had read four books by this author prior to this one here. And I already owned it (I don't remember why I owned it). And I was in something of a reading slump - after a sprint of reading a lot of works in a short period of time, I was having some issues getting into another story. Figured I'd try something by an author I'd read before, been a while since I read something by them, and in a genre I do not normally read. And so - I started to just read this one. And, in a short week (sarcastic), I completed this short story.
What's it about? A bounty hunter, female, spots someone who she recognized from wanted posters. Someone who would give her a $2 million pay day. She normally only gets those whose rewards for capturing are peanuts. And so . . . she decides to try to take him down. She hadn't specifically intended to not read up on the guy, but she just didn't have enough time.
Meanwhile: a snow storm hits. The kind that dumps feet of snow instead of inches. Woman's car breaks down while trailing bad guy. She gets out, passes out in snow . . . . etc. etc. Finds herself nude in a bed . . . the bad guy's bed.
Right, so. *looks at shelving* Solo POV, from the point of view of the female bounty hunter. Oh, free ebook, that's how I got it - I got it free. Which reminds me that this is the start of a series, but I have no plans to continue series. I was satisfied with what I'd read and do not need to continue. I seem to do that a lot with this author - start a series . . . then never continue it. This is the fourth series I've started by this author, and I only made it to book two for one series. Though that wasn't for the series I gave the highest rating to first book (I seem to mostly rate this author's books 3 stars; one, a fantasy involving a were shifter (shark) book, I gave something close to 4 stars).
I neither recommend nor not recommend this story. Oh, and yes, the book is sexually explicit, but with a lot of this author's works, the books are erotica, not porn. Basically: there's a story, there's sex involved, it is explicit, but it's not a sex drenched story (I think this one didn't have any actual sex until . . . well, I forget now, but at least 50% into the book, possibly further into the book).
Should have known this was a serial and not a full length book, I really hate cliffhangers, although surprisingly I didn't find this one as bad. I loved Corbin, if I were Aubrey I'd say eff it, and run away with him, "my stomach clenched painfully at the aroma and growled audibly. But I shook my head. He raised a dark eyebrow. "You will eat," he said simply. His tone left no room for argument." The boy has a strange sense of amusement, "he pressed his lips together - though with that amuse twinkle in his eyes - and picked up my empty bowl. He tilted it. "Did you lick it clean?" My face burned. "I would have brought you more," he said gently. "This way." I loved how blunt he was. "forgive the crudeness, but I'm going to eff you like you stole something." I just loved his dirty mouth, "I know," he said soothingly. "It's for your own good, baby. You have a very spankable a**. Good muscle tone, and I love the way it jiggles. Gets me even harder." I'm ready for the next installment.
It is rare that I stumble upon erotica and find myself faced with an actual storyline, with actual characters, but with this book I was pleasantly surprised. Peitsche writes with such flair that I can't help but be drawn into the story within the first few pages. Her characters have enough depth to make the reader want to learn more, but not so much that it detracts from the hot sex she depicts. Trapped is fast paced, exhilarating and leaves you on a cliffhanger at the end of the book. I simply need to read the next installment!
that girl is all kinds of stupid. a storm, no service, and a killer. he could have ran her over, splat, end of book. smh but I like how they pulled together.
Trapped By a Dangerous Man was not what I was expecting. I was expecting Audrey to have got kidnapped by Corbin. It turns out she went to go arrest him in a snow storm and ended up having to get rescued by him. She woke up in his bed, and had no idea he knew what she was. Although she went after him not knowing that he was a freaking assassin. Why wouldnt she look to see why he was the most wanted criminal? Anyways before she finds this out ahe sleeps with him, and it got pretty steamy. After that Audrey knew she couldnt turn him in. It ended with Corbin leaving her a note asking for a date when he came back from his job and to consider working with him. Overall this story was okay.
This was good story and flowed well. However, the basis of the plot was nothing new. Stranded and trapped by a snow storm, recused by a handsome stranger and forced to shack up with him. From there it was pretty much a given what would happen.
What was unique was the guys cooking skills. People who are lovers of the culinary art of cooking will love that part of the plot. I personally don't care for pages upon pages of talk about food/cooking when reading erotica.
It was nice that there was a build-up to the sexy time and the heroine didn't just go all gaga and fall at his feet the second he came to her rescue. That said I didn't find the sex scene's overly satisfying either. (yeah yeah I'm a tough cookie to please, having read a truckload of erotica I set the bar high)
I recommend this book to readers who enjoy an erotic romance, with a bounty hunter on a mission, and don't mind books released as a series.
Had this been longer I might have enjoyed it more, but right now I'm in no hurry to pick up book 2.

My first read by this author and it won't be my last ..Her writing is crisp , hot and certainly enthralling ..I personally enjoyed both the characters and the storyline reading this in one sitting ..Will be venturing on to read more in this series .. The setting in the book was believable and the way in which the author penned her words made the setting real and easily envisaged.
Girl bounty hunter, Audrey Stroop hears a conversation in a card shop and realizes that the man is Corbin Lagos and on the most wanted list. With a major snowstorm coming she goes to a remote area in a blizzard, to capture him in her old beat-up car with no weapon and no backup. After driving into a ditch she leaves her car and is rescued by Corbin.
He takes her to a very nice remote cabin, takes care of her and challenges her to access her choices and putting herself in danger. She finds that after Corbin saved her life that she couldn't take him in to earn a reward although she was Trapped by a Dangerous Man.
Warning the sex is hot and happens quickly and is the best of Audrey's young life.
I’d forgotten how well Cleo Peitsche writes. In just a couple hundred pages, she’ll give you consistent characters, a competently written plot and all the sexy feels you so desire. Hot, steamy and messy sex scenes with an Alpha dominant done well and a driven, feisty, independent and sexually uninhibited (and unapologetic) woman in the midst of heaps of sexual tension and a plot thrown in for good measure? Wish granted! Highly recommend!
I really enjoyed this story and I like the author's writing style. The characters came to life and the suspense felt real. I wish it weren't a series, but there is a little wrap up at the end of the story and a lead into the next episode. Clean editing, smooth writing style, great characters, hot sex, and everything in between.
I am not sure about this book, didn't warm to Corbin or what's her name.Didn't reAlly care what happened to them. Shame as I liked Cleo Peitsche's writing. Will try read some of her other books .

My Thoughts
I'm a fan of this author - and i'm not quite sure why. I mean, i know why - her style of writing really brings you in, but i have to say that there's often quite a bit that takes it just a bit outside my comfort zone that it's a surprise. In any event, we begin our journey with a few new characters in this series.
We meet Audrey - who's a 22 yr old bounty hunter - working for her family's business, and trying to make a name for herself since it's tough for a girl to be in the biz, let alone to work for her dad. Audrey has her eyes set on a big prize - after seeing Corbin Lagos - the #1 most wanted on her list with a $2MM bounty in a local store. The bad fortune that she finds herself of a mess in is one of the biggest snow storms of the year.
So, after nearly dying of fristbite and the such - when her car gets stranded while she's on an off road trying to get to the last known location of Corbin, she wakes up to find herself naked, in a bed, with her hands and feet wrapped up. It's when Corbin walks in that she realizes that either she's in a very bad position that he knows what she does and is going to kill her, or she's really embarrassed and has to figure out how to get out of a situation that she'd rather not be in.
Going into this, we knew that if he was among the most wanted, then he'd be really smart and probably a dominant. Smart - well - that box was checked quickly. He knew EXACTLY who audrey was, and that didn't bode well for her necessarily. A dom - well that box is also checked pretty quickly given that as we know when you're marooned with someone that you have any kind of attraction for - you'll fall into bed. So - the path to getting there is interesting, but of course - it's hot as well.
Corbin is a man that doesn't pull his punches, and we're taken straight into scening in a way that makes me uncomfortable - in a good way. he's not tentative with any of his actions and even a bit dirty - which seems to be exactly what the story asks for. We learn that Audrey isn't the most experienced but she's one to try to control her intimacy, while Corbin is ALWAYS the one that's in control.
The nice thing that we learn is what took Corbin down his path - at least we get the initial hints. The way that the story is written as well makes us really engaged is that they play a little game to get to know each other - in a sense at least - of 20 questions, and they try to make things seem as normal while they are far from it.
What i also really liked is that Corbin propositions Audrey in a way that while i figured was coming - i think that it was a nice way to end this first installment. You really have to wonder what's going to happen next, and who if anyone is going to capture Corbin and what that will mean for Audrey - since i feel like things are going to get dicey. Nothing i like more than a guy who ditches in the AM and then leaves sweet notes and texts. Anyhow - i'm going to check out the next installment to see which side Audrey stays on - the good or the dark. Enjoy!
Audrey is a member of her families’ bounty hunter business. She has a twin brother that looks nothing like her. Audrey wants to impress her father with two million dollars in bounty retrieval and so decides to go after the bad guy by herself. The only problem Audrey has is a snow storm that is causing all kind of traffic problems and with her old car it is a hazard. Telling no one where she is going she sets out to catch her criminal and ends up in a ditch almost snowed in. Audrey is rescued by the very man that she wants to arrest. Sparks being to fly and Audrey cannot deny the attraction she feels for Corbin Lagos.
Corbin is a paid assassin and Audrey wants to collect the bounty on his head. She goes into the situation without really investigating why Corbin is #1 on the Most Wanted List. So when the two get up and personal it’s no surprise that Audrey finds herself unsure of what to do. Especially when he calls a truce until the blizzard passes and they can once again join the real world again.
Who is the real Corbin Lagos? A monster or a victim? Why does he make Audrey want to stay with him? Can the two find a way to be together?
Would I recommend this book: Yes! This book starts out as an easy bounty hunter, hunting down the bad guy, but ends with a teaser of what if? It also has some domination between a hot, sexy bad guy and a good girl that could be pulled to the dark-side into the world of BDSM.
Would I read other books by this author: Yes! I really want to know if Corbin is really who Audrey thinks he is or is he something more? Can’t wait to read the next installment of Corbin and Audrey!

Its not often I give a book a solid 5 stars, but Trapped By A Dangerous Man a new series by Cleo Peitsche managed to do just that. It made me feel so many emotions and also search Amazon for the second book in the series straight after finishing the book!
Although this book is in the Romance/Erotica category I do feel that those who enjoy New Adult will enjoy it too. The Erotica/BDSM in it isn't too harsh, a little crazy at times, but not offensive or obscene in my opinion. However, if you don't like hardcore sex scenes, then maybe give this a miss.
When you are reading a book which mainly only has 2 characters and no real outsiders (You only have Audrey's brother in the opening chapter) it can make hard work for the author. Yet Cleo has done an amazing job of telling a fun, amusing, sexy hot story about 2 people thrown into a situation.
Aubrey is a great character, I really liked her. She was funny, head strong and has a great 'voice' through the book as its told from her point of view. We feel her emotions, her highs and her (Dare I say it) big 'O's. I felt like I was there, which at times was probably a little perverse!
I loved Corbin, wow! Sex on a stick, hot dominant male. At first he feels a little straight laced but as the book progresses is one dirty man. I loved the dimension of his character and how he had just the right amount of control and humour without it feeling fake.
The situations in this book are unique and definitely a work of fiction, Aubrey is a bounty hunter and Corbin the wanted man, but it still works and kept me entertained. I read this in 1 day and thoroughly loved it. Can't recommend it enough and am already reading book 2, 'Wanted By A Dangerous Man' which I will review once I'm done.
Trapped By A Dangerous Man got 5 stars and deserved everyone of them!

Trapped by a Dangerous Man is the first book in the Dangerous Man series, and it is a promising start. It is an intriguing book that is full of suspense and sizzling sexual tension. This is the first book I've read by Cleo Peitsche, and I really enjoyed her writing style. The ending was really interesting and I look forward to seeing where the author is taking this story.
Audrey is a bounty hunter for her family's firm, and she is determined to prove her worth so that she will finally be taken seriously. When she accidentally comes across the man who's number one on the most wanted list, she is determined to capture him and collect the two million dollar bounty. Unfortunately on the way to his hideaway she has a car accident in a snow blizzard. She is shocked to discover that the man who saved her life is her target, Corbin Lagos. Stranded together until the snow clears, the sparks begin to fly.
I really enjoyed the relationship and interaction between these two characters. Corbin may be a dangerous criminal, but he is also dangerously sexy and showed he has a softer side by rescuing and caring for Audrey. I really liked Audrey too, she is a strong woman trying to prove herself in a man's world. Going after a hardened criminal on her own when she didn't even know what he was wanted for was probably not her smartest move though! There are some seriously steamy encounters between them, complete with spanking and other elements of BDSM.
This book is really hot, but there is a good story to back this up. I love how mysterious the hero is and I can't wait to find out more about him. I have no idea what direction this story is going in, so I am looking forward to the next book. I give Trapped with a Dangerous Man five stars.
I have just reread (again!) this whole series. There are five parts to this story (now a box set, By A Dangerous Man) -- Trapped...; Wanted...; Saved...; Tempted...; and Seduced by a Dangerous Man. The first four parts end with cliffhangers, which I hate. However, since the entire series is available now, you won't have that issue.
Audrey Stroop works for the family business as a bounty hunter and is tracking a big bounty, Corbin Lagos. He rescues her from nearly freezing to death in her pursuit of him. A blizzard has moved in and Corbin and Audrey have a truce until the blizzard ends. They have an insta-lust attraction that they partake in while waiting for that blizzard to pass.
This part ends with Audrey wondering if she'll ever see Corbin again, but really wanting to.
I instantly loved this coupling. Audrey is a strong woman who is swept away by the dominant Corbin. She, however, doesn't lose her strength and it's one of the things that Corbin likes about her. He loves to dominate her, but loves her strength and intelligence. I voraciously read this series and followed it up with the second story (also 5 part, damn cliffhangers!) and the two novellas that round out the series to date.
If you like dominant men with an air of mystery and strong, intelligent, feisty woman who don't lose who they are in their sexual submissiveness, you'll love this series. The fact that the series has mystery, action, adventure, lust, sex, and love makes it a winner. I can't wait for more to come.
I have been curious about this author for a while now, and at a crossroad for my next story I decided to give Trapped By A Dangerous Man a go. Although the storyline sounded great it didn't pan out in the book for me.
Audrey has loved under the shadow of her father and brother in the world of bounty hunting. Now she has the information required to take down the ultimate bad guy Corbin Lagos. Ahe just has to pull it off and she will be not only filthy rich and finally have the respect she wants and needs, but when she heads off into a severe snow storm, has a car accident and pretty much passes out on the road she is pretty sure death is her only option now.
Waking up in a super comfy bed, warm as toast, hands and feet bandaged up and stark naked her world is turned upside down when a gorgeous hunk of a man walks in the food for her. She cannot believe her eyes when the nan is none other than Corbin Lagos, the man she has to catch.
All smart ass and attitude, Audrey gives it to Corbin, but what she doesn't realise is the man she is hunting is so much different to the one helping and caring for her. Now stuck in "his home" for 24+ hours they call a truce. But that escalates into crazy sex, computer games, questions and feelings that aren't supposed to be there.
When she finally gets the chance to take her man down, will she have the courage to go all the way, or will Corbin have the last laugh?
Although not a cliffhanger ending, this book definitely leads into book 2, I'm just not sure I want to head there right now, but maybe down the track I'll give this story another go.
A woman that can’t wrap her mind around liking an assassin but when he touches her she is on fire.
This is my first read by Ms. Peitsche and I have to say that I’m intrigued with the storyline in this book. This is the first book in the By a Dangerous Man Series and it was a good start. We learn a little about Aubrey and her job and we also learn a little about the apparent assassin Corbin. I say apparent assassin because he says he is one but he does have a heart. He saved her when he could have left her to die after he learned she was a bounty hunter. He actually saved her, undress her, didn’t stare at her at least that is what he said and tended to her. He washed her cloth and feed her. There has to be more to the story about him because he had a good upbringing and he was a chef how in the heck does a man that is a chef turn into an assassin.
There are so many more questions that I have and I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. I want to know if Aubrey will miss Corbin. What is she going to tell her twin brother? What will Corbin do when he comes back after his two weeks? Will she take him upon his offer?

When I first started this book I did find it a bit difficult to get into. The beginning part just wasn't grabbing me very well. But despite that, once it started, it had me. Thank god it wasn't one of those dark captivity books that have abuse and brainwashing in it. This story has a very solid angle. I appreciate the storyline and it has enabled me to buy the following two books (which I have read already).
This book also comes off like a series/episode books. I want to state that 100 pages are far better to invest my time and money in then 16 or the 35 pages being peddled off for $2.99. I do believe this would be considered as a novel and not a novella, and there is certainly enough material in it to entertain you.
Normally I scuff off at books bolstering off the strength of the female lead and not being able to back up that a claim. Here I didn't really feel that way. She seemed intelligent enough and despite the well trained Bounty hunter she was, she still had her flaws. Most importantly, the female never diminished in good ole common sense. Kudos for getting that one right.
In all, I am now hooked on the series and can't wait to see where it goes.
I really liked this one. I would have given it more stars but I really dislike when book series make you pay $3 or more for 100 some odd pages. Honestly, some of my favorite authors have full length novels for that price.
That being said, I had no idea what to expect from this one. I didn't even bother reading the write up on it I just went by the name and cover. So Audrey, was fun! I love that she knew what she wanted and didn't give in so easily like some simpering self-conscious woman. It was great that Peitsche kept describing her as a person people didn't think men would be interested in yet she considered herself a 7.5.
Anyway, Corbin. What a confusing man. SO many levels to him and they seem to be getting deeper.
I was disappointed that this ended in a cliffhanger yet the story in the cabin was complete. So I get it. I've had worse cliffhangers. I'm just not sure if I'm going to continue something I enjoyed because of the price-point.
**This rating is for all five books (novellas)** A cute story about a bounty hunter and the "fugitive" she's trying to catch. It's a warm and cozy story that makes you want to cuddle under a blanket, drink hot chocolate and read this book. I wish the story was not broken down into so many little books. It could've easily been two books or a Novella and a book. I give the series 3.5 to 4 stars. It would've been a solid 4 stars for me if the author had given more information on Corbin's past life. I felt a little short changed after having read about the mysterious past life that Corbin had and was hoping to get more of it in the last book but did not unfortunately. **Book #5 is Seduced By A Dangerous Man**
I really liked the premise of this story and I loved the characters. There were just a few minor things that bothered me. Spoiler alert: When they had sex (which was REALLY hot) - I can't stand it when an anal sex scene starts without any lube. It makes no sense whatsoever, even if it is just his finger. The ending - sure we got a happy for now ending, sorta, but I prefer happily ever after. The author did a good job of making me want more, even though I can't see how this is going to work out well for them. But the ending left me frustrated. Overall, great erotic read but not a typical romance. Definitely an erotica, with no HEA.
Ok, so I have a problem with women who are supposed to be professional but can't do their chosen job well. A bounty hunter who has a cheap unreliable cell phone, a POS unreliable car, and no weapon goes out into a blizzard to catch a man WAY out of her league? Having said that, I did enjoy the book as I went on. It's good to see that Audrey doesn't lose all sense of her purpose, even if she does fight herself where Corbin is concerned. Plot moves right along, the heat level is up there, and as much as I initially thought otherwise, by the end of the book I was hooked, and immediately got the next. Hope I enjoy it as much as I ended up enjoying this one.
Wow! I have a new's year's resolution not to start any novella series books because the cliffy's just tick me off. This book...this 90 page masterpiece is a total exception to my rule! I'm SO glad I read this! It's an awesome plot. Tough leading lady/bounty hunter. HAWT blizzard happenings and a great ending. I loved the ending because that meant I wasn't reading a short story, there is more Corbin and Audrey to come. Do yourself a favor and read it! Now, I'm off to find out of I need a license to be a bounty hunter! LOL
