This one had A LOT happen in it. I really enjoyed knowing what happened in the world prior to the other series. Just helps complete the world better in my head. I also think this helps you appreciate Susie so much more. This book had quite a bit of angst too, and we all know I love angst.

This Fantasy Romance is book 2 in Susie & Arkens Duet. The Romance in this book is a pre established relationship from a previous book. This book is very spicy. The spice in this book is very descriptive. The spice is also very frequent, and ingrained into the story. The book moves at quick pace following Susie, and Arken as they work to try, and change rules within the school. Susie, and Arken will face many issues with judgement based on their relationship, and it will take its toll as they also try to take down the king. The book is steamy, emotional, and exciting. A great addition to an already wickedly steamy duet.

Intense conclusion for Arken and Suzie's spicy duet in the world of the Volmasque Academy, that teaches wolves to submit, obey and please their vampire masters.
The forbidden romance continues between vampire headmaster Arken and shifter student Suzie, the tension is palpable, and the challenges they face are intense as they have to outwit numerous despicable enemies.
They endure so much together but it really helps their characters grow, and they compliment each other so well, and even when their dynamics have to shift publicity, their intense connection and devotion remains the same.
The flashbacks of Arken's life, and Nathaniel's insights help show Henrikk's cruelty, alongside the new games the King is playing, pitting Professor Zott against Arken. I also liked how it brought together events from the rest of the series, and they use Henrikk's past against him.
This is packed full of spice and dark content, and pushes Suzie's boundaries of submission, and Arken's ability to share. It's a dark world they are a part of, and they will have to bend or break their morals and do what it takes to survive the cruel games and to be together.

💀 "It might be wrong to say, but I don't want to share you. Not with anyone"

💀 "My good girl. My sweet, clever, obedient pet"

💀"Collared and gagged, my, my. However did you convince her?"

💀 "I belong to him. I'm his pet"

Sweet and highly anticipated conclusion of Arken and Susie’s story that didn't disappoint in the slightest❤️
I loved their dynamic and watching it shift and change by the hurdles they went through. But also the way they both changed thanks to each other. Already in the first book, we see her moral compass being changed and her world view from idealistic step by step, realizing that the world isn't black and white and things are not so simple.Arken on the other hand, as my favorite character, discovers that there are still bits and pieces of good left fighting for, pushing him out of his apathy and hard shell.
So, as a result, they balance each other perfectly, and with unexpected alliances and some favorite characters from Nathaniel and Kira’s books taking part, it makes this story a page turner.
Needless to mention that the spice level is through the roof and not for the faint-hearted😁

After the cliffhanger Darcy left us with at the end of the last book, I dove right in to the much-anticipated conclusion to Susie and Arken's story—and trust me, it was worth the wait! Their forbidden love burns hotter than ever, but nothing comes easy for these two. The obstacles they face are relentless, with enemies lurking around every corner, headed by the King himself. Once again, Susie is an absolute standout. I adored her in the first book for her kindness, resilience, and fierce loyalty to the vulnerable. And she’s only grown since then, although she’s no longer as naïve. And for his part, Arken has come a long way too! Through flashbacks of his life, we get to understand him more. The arrogant, self-entitled vampire we met at the start has evolved into someone far more compelling and complex. Susie has awakened something deep within him; a part of him that’s made him realize there were things worth fighting for. Of course, true to Darcy’s style, the story is heavy on the spice—and fair warning: things do get pretty dark. So, if you’re new to her world, tread carefully. It’s intense, it’s gritty, and it doesn’t shy away from the shadows. But don’t worry—there’s light at the end of the tunnel, and a happily-ever-after awaits. All in all, a gripping, emotional rollercoaster that’s as seductive as it is satisfying. Fans of forbidden romance and dark fantasy will devour this!

This book was even better than the first book of the series. It didn't have as many triggers in it compared to the first book but it was extremely enjoyable. I loved how Susie was still fighting for what she believed in even though she would do anything for Arken.

The chapter with the sharing in between Nathanial and Arken was extremely good and brought in a new friendship (although they wouldn't admit it).

So many twists in this book compared to the first book which I didn't expect.

I did not expect Molly to be what she was and act how she acted, I was quite annoyed and instantly disliked Molly after reading what I did. She deceived Susie and Arken to protect herself.

Susie had grown into herself a lot more in this book and learnt how to fend for herself and help other people without being taken for granted.

Arken, poor guy. Has been through so much trauma in his life under the hands of the king but something happens and it allows him so payback as much as he struggles to come to terms with it.

Not too much spice in the book but enough to keep you going

Susie and Arken's Duet #2
★★★★☆

Thank you Booksirens and the Author for the copy in exchange for an honest review!

Thrilling rebellion and angsty dynamic we got here. What a great conclusion of Susie and Arken's story. We get to see more side of them, the past untold, and their deepest mind kept from each other. The tension in this one is winning i can't stand still and kept feeling anxious about their fate in the grip of Henrikk's crooked reign. Other thing i like is that the world in this universe is branching as we proceed, holding reader's curiosity to read more of installments from the same universe. 500+ pages is sure intimidating, I was only hoping that it would be much shorter. A fitting and well-built paranormal dark romantasy, great experience!

Darcy Fayton delivers an intense and unforgettable story in Shared by the Headmaster. This installment cranks up the heat, offering far more "oh gosh" moments than the previous tale of Arken and Susie. The emotional stakes are high, with the author masterfully weaving in moments of uncertainty that keep readers on edge. Will they make it, or won’t they? You’ll have to read it to find out!

Fayton's storytelling pulls you in, keeping you hooked with every twist and turn. However, readers are encouraged to check for content warnings, as the story touches on potentially sensitive themes. To fully appreciate the depth of the characters and their journey, it’s recommended to start with the first book in the series.

If you're looking for a story packed with passion, tension, and unpredictability, Shared by the Headmaster is a must-read.

Set in an academy for vampires and wolf shifters based in a castle, perfect. The vampires are the ruling class with the wolves subservient and often treated as pets, To me it had a flavour of Russia just before the revolution but with modern touches.

This is the second prequel to the outstanding two books “Collared” and “Groomed” by the Vampire Prince. This story is darker and more disturbing than the others in the series, hence the four stars rather than five. At times I felt it wandered off in odd directions that made it a little too long.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I can thoroughly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys para romance which is both dark and seriously spicy. Heed the given warnings about the content as it won’t to to everyones’ taste.

Good but not quite up to the original

Some parts of this book were simply brilliant (successfullly portraying the emotions of the main characters, some of the erotic scenes, the suspense in places) while others sadly weren't quite there (missed opportunities with characters taken out of the plot, repetitious "nightmare memories" on Arken's part).

The "closedown" of the two novel series (using the epilogues) was good however I felt there was a disconnect in the final chapters of the book itself - almost as if Darcy wasn't sure whether to go for book 3 or just stop at this one.

In short, I enjoyed it however I definitely preferred the first book.

(I read an ARC however it simply allowed me to read the book a bit earlier than otherwise and the above is simply my opinion.)

This book was not easy to read. The Academy, the way the omegas were treated. The vampires who felt better and supreme. And then Henrikk, he was really terrible. And there was Susie, Arken and Nathaniel. The first chapters are really dark, full of fear and hope. You will find and read hope throughout this book. Hope it got better. But every time Susie achieved a victory, no matter how small, something so terrible happened again and you really wondered what more an omega can endure. Despite the events in that book, it is really worth reading. You see the small changes, the strength that lies deep within. And despite all this darkness, there really is a light at the end of that tunnel. Highly recommended.

I feel like this second book moved faster and covered more time than the first, which is great. There are main themes of trauma and sexual assaults in this book, but it's about dealing with it and striving to make a better future, not glorifying it in any way.

I'd read the first instalment of Nathaniel and Kira's duet prior to Susie and Arken's duet, so it was good to get the back story of the academy and the king. The epilogues were great, I love a proper fleshed out ending. To have earned 5 stars from me, it would need to be faster paced and I found that the occasional whimsical magic parts didn't fit with the overall vibe.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I'm voluntarily leaving this review.

This one definitely has the HEA I was searching for from the first book.

Again, it's a little dark and a little bit rough to get through but eventually the light at the end of the tunnel is worth it all.

There's still definitely some abuse to the main characters, both female and male. My final thoughts on this series was that there were some interesting dynamics across the board, not just the normal one's that everyone is used to reading about in a series like this. But it can be a little bit of a layer of ick that you sort of have to struggle through to get to the soft ending.

Loved the characters throughout. They redeemed themselves in a way that made all the toil and strife definitely worth it.

"You will love this Dark Paranormal Romance"

You will find this exciting, and scorching hot story. It is so much fun to read.
Susie is a sweet and spunky shifter. That can not fully shift either way. She is stuck with wolf ears, claws, and tail!
She goes to a paranormal school. That is ruled by vampires.
While there she becomes the pet of the headmaster vampire Arken. They have a huge problem when they fall in love with each other. As their love is forbidden. If the Vampire King learns the truth. He will punish Arken , and kill Susie! Can Arken protect Susie from the king?

This book is very dark. Definitely don't proceed without checking the tw if you're not familiar with the authors work.

The second part of Susie and Arken's duology did my head in. They work as a couple. The more we learn about the period of Henrikk's reign, the pain and trauma he put onto other people, how manipulative he is. I'm still shocked, every darn time. The writing is well done: it's painfully immersive, and what I admire is that no matter which couple you choose to read first, there's so many layers to the intrigue that you will probably be kept on your toes every time.

This is a dark romance book. This is book 2 of the series. I read the first book quite a while ago and loved it so I was excited to see how it continued. It takes place at Volmasque Academy. In the academy, vampires are on the lower floor and wolf-shifters are on the upper floor. The vampires are in control while the wolf shifters must submit and obey. In the last book, Suzie reached out to protect another young student from being used by Arken the headmaster and from there, the relationship took off. It continues in this book and is spicy as the first book was.

I just love this spicy paranormal dark romance series!

Arken and Susie's story continues on from Bedded by the headmaster, and this time the stakes are higher. The story is still absolutely filled to the brim with smut and spice, but there was much more adventure and intrigue to devour.

I enjoyed seeing how this series set the groundwork for Nathaniel and Kira's duet, which I read previously and also loved.
However, I have yet to read Henrikk's standalone novel as I feel I need to wait a while to forget how thoroughly loathing he is as a character to want to read his story.

I have mixed feelings about this book. There was so much to it; it was epic overall. We had the growing relationship with varying dynamics of Arken and Susie as well as trying to overcome the obstacles put upon them by Henrrick.
I loved the tension suspense, but it left me frustrated in the end. I didn't feel like there was true closure. Maybe there will be more books in this series to round this out, but I was overall left unsatisfied

This is the final book in Suzie and Arken's duet, don't worry you'll see them again in Plug & Claim. It's incredible. Both of these characters have gone through very hard challenges and made it out to the other side, which just makes us love them more.

I highly recommend this series for those with little to no triggers, but it is a dark romance so I highly recommend checking the trigger warnings before reading.

This is book two and it does not disappoint. This is the conclusion of how Susan and Arken, two different species join forces to help keep the academy safe. But the king who is a vampire has different ideas. Susan is on a journey of wanting to be independent or does she want to have Arken dominate her? Arken has his own secrets that need to be left behind. But how do you protect yourself and a loved one when the evil king is around? Do you do the right thing or …

The continuation of Susie and Arken has been an amazing read. Their connections towards each other continues. You get so much of what we wanted to know of on the first book here and it all turns out smoothly.

The spice just got even spicier! It’s all over and I couldn’t be more happy about it. Of course, theres more to it than just that.

I couldn’t be more happier about reading this book. It was full of darkness and I loved the characters incorporated in the book. I loved the ending.

I don’t know why but I really struggled with this book. I really enjoyed the other duet connected with Susie and Arkens story. Like the others it was lighthearted but with the spice and a touch of darkness. I think it was a me problem rather than the book. Would be interested to see what others thought. I do like Darcy’s writing style because although I struggled with the plot the actual reading of it was easy and flows well

The best duet ending. Susie and Arken getting their HEA. The plot twist, hidden agendas, and schemes were definitely worth the wait. The only issue i had was with Susie's selfless characteristics, like girl, to beat them you have to join them to understand how to beat them. It's okay to accept help when you have literally nothing but a cheering squad. And oh so much spice

As King Henrikk becomes more erratic, Nathaniel, Susie and Arken make their plan to depose him, permanently. Molly continues to be a question mark. She's strange. What is she?

The conclusion to Susie and Arken's saga is tense, mysterious, dangerous and of course, romantic. Expect lots of twists and turns with a hot and satisfying HEA. Don't overlook the extras.

This book picks up right where Darcy left us with a huge cliffhanger from book 1 (Bedded by the Headmaster).
