With her closest girlfriends taking a step into their futures, and her gorgeous boy-BFF, Oliver, seemingly content to settle for the witch-from-hell, Clare feels everyone is growing up without her. Clare’s hopes to repair the strained friendship with Oliver during their luxury trip to LA to witness the birth of Tilly and Luke’s precious bundle are dashed when jealous girlfriend, Stacy, decides to tag along, ruining any chance of the pair kissing and making up… …or does it? Could the holiday change their lives and friendship, forever? Will their secret, sporadic, lascivious encounters develop into the romance that Clare so desperately craves? Or will the Universe have other, less ideal plans for her perfect Oliver?
This was actually my favorite of the series so far! The characters felt so real to me and I loved their connection. I loved the plot twist and the way it ended. The sex scenes were believable and plenty steamy! I'm loving this author!!
So loved this book!!! I loved finally reading Clare's story, those little hints of her relationship with Oliver in the first two books were enough to lure me in!
I heard this was good, but I know the author (we hang out in the same coffee shops!!) so I don't think you should take my review seriously. I guess just read it?
--UPDATE-- I stopped hanging out at the same coffee shops; he always beats me to the power outlet and then stays FOREVERRRRR...ARGHHHH RUDE!
—UPDATE #2– okay, seriously, this guy sucks! he spilled coffee all over my notebook and barely apologized; just soaked it up with his shirt and ran out of the coffee shop hella quick—like, ummmm 🤔 this book can’t be good!!
--UPDATE #3--
guys.
guyssss.
okay, so i told myself i wasn't going to post here anymore, but this author...i mean, he's THE WORST (i mean i actually took the time to capitalize those two words so you KNOW i mean it)!!
first of all, i'm sorry, man, but just because you're wearing earbuds doesn't mean no one else can hear your music!?! ummm, hello, we're only a table apart, that's like four feet at most, author guy; not the entire continent you seem to believe it is. TURN YOUR MUSIC DOWN!
also, hasn't anyone ever told you that's TERRIBLE for your eardrums. i mean i know this goes without saying but i'd hate to be his audiologist.
but wait, there's more! when i tried to give him the universal signal for "hey, buddy, turn that noise down" (you know, where you twist your face into the most annoyed expression ever while simultaneously rolling your eyes and forming your hand into a down arrow and then on a non-stop loop pointing that hand-down-arrow at the floor--you know the one) but he had the nerve to smile at me and wave. ummm, no, author guy, this isn't me attempting to initiate a friendly game of table charades. TURN YOUR MUSIC DOWN! finally, after about two minutes of my gesturing i got his attention again and this time he removed his earbuds.
"hey," he said all coolly.
as if he had no idea what this was all about. can you believe that? "hey"--like he doesn't know that he's THE WORST!
and you know me, i was ready to give him a piece of my mind except here he kept looking at me with that goofy, lopsided grin and those pathetic i'm-a-sensitive-artist-who-just-wants-to-be-loved-please-love-me eyes and well, i'm not a monster, people.
"hey, cool playlist. we should trade sometime." okay, okay, i have no clue how those words came out of my mouth, but don't worry, i quickly get back on track.
author guy laughs like he's embarrassed. "actually i have pretty terrible tastes in music but it's nice of you to say. by the way, i'm not playing it too loudly, am i? i'd hate to be THAT GUY."
i shrug. "hahaha, no way. noooo waayyyy. hahaha. hey, believe me, if you were, i'd tell you hahaha."
ugh, did i mention he's THE WORST?!?! i didn’t have the heart to tell him this, but i am telling you; there’s NO WAY this book is any good!!
After reading Sexy Berkley and Sexy Summers, I couldn't wait to get my mits on Sexy Hart... I love all these Sexy Men.
This latest installment had me in tears either from laughing or crying. Its a crazy, whirlwind romance that is simply meant to be and their love survives the crisis that unfolds and puts their future in the balance.
I was so glad to see the back of a certain someone, and this makes the whole Vegas trip all the more enjoyable, from the steamy sex to the big secret.
Oliver is a complete gem and makes you wish that more English guys were like him... however, they're not.
It's amazing to see how they have all fallen in love and grown up and their lives have moved on and developed and moved on individually and as a group. They all have such love for one and other, it's touching to read about. Makes a change from real life bickering over stupid things.
I think this was the best of the 3 books that I've read so far. Yes I teared up a bit in each book, but nothing like how I bawled while reading this one.
Clare and Oliver, Bea's older brother, have been BFF with one another for years, and their chemistry is off the charts too. Unbeknownst to Olly, Clare fell in love with him when she was 17, but he didn't notice. On the other hand, Olly has been in love with her for years as well, both of the were afraid to ruin their close friendship for a relationship that might ruin everything. So they stayed friends, until they just couldn't anymore.
On vacation in L.A. and Vegas....secrets get revealed and promises are made to try for MORE..But no one realizes what MORE entailed.
I LOVED this book. Can't wait to read Alexia's story next.
Sexy Berkeley was crazy and sexy, Sexy Summers was hot and sexy while this book, Sexy Hart, is sweet and sexy.
The book starts out with the arrival of Emily, Luke and Tilly's baby. The gang is all there and the author makes you feel like your one of the gang. You can feel the love all of these friends have for each other and for their significant other. We know from the previous 2 books that Clare is hung up on Bea's brother Elliott for years, but we soon come to find out the feelings have been just as mutual.
You are taken on a journey of split decisions, a growing love, trust, discovery and acceptance. Sometimes we don't see what is before our eyes, even when everyone else does. I thought the yoyo of a discovery period would at some point annoy me but it never did. There is a twist ending and a reveal of the next storyline (Lexi) You will see hints of it in this book as well so it lays the foundation of what is to come.
I found this sweet and sexy. No hot sex like summers or craziness of Berkeley. I think of it as my group of friends you have the crazy ones, grounded ones and independents. Each of Dani's reflects that in the portrayal of the characters. Love her writing and this book.
Wow Dani Lovell does it again! I love this series so much and this one tops the cake! I believe Oliver has stole my heart! I stayed up till 1:00 am to finish this book. Clare and Oliver have been amazing friends since they were young. They are always around each other and taking care of each other. It's just a natural thing for them! They are going to celebrate her birthday but Tilly decides to have her precious baby Emily. They try to salvage the rest of the trip. They go to Vegas and Oliver is bringing his nasty jealous girlfriend. He finally has enough of her mouth towards Clare and tells her to leave. Puts her on a plane and says goodbye! After this he goes to see Clare to make sure she is ok. They have an amazing time there and when they come home they don't want it to end... A tragic event happens and everything comes out in the open in the end. I can't wait to see what happens with Alexis!
Another great book by Dani! I loved the next installment of the Sexy series..and mostly Oliver. He was the perfect gentleman. He always assured Clare she was beautiful and the only woman for him, he was definitely swoon worthy! They way he defended Clare when Stacy insulted her had me hoping he'd soon make the right choice. It was obvious from the start where his heart truly belonged. Their relationship was very different compared to Bea and Daniel's and Luke and Tilly's but included the same amount of love and passion. They were two best friends who had hidden their feelings for so long and finally decided to make a go of a relationship. There were parts of this book that I didn't see coming at all (especially Vegas!). However; this just added to the greatness of this story.
I'd definitely recommend this series..the first book is FREE. Another 5 star read :)
Clare has been in love with BFF Oliver Hart since she was a teenager, but one broken heart too many was enough for her. Besides their friendship was too important for her, so no matter how she felt she convinced herself they were always better off as friends. Except after hooking up with him yet again, in spite of Oliver's awful girlfriend, he couldn't agree with her anymore. Oliver knew Stacy wasn't right for him and the more she demanded he stayed away from Clare, the more he knew he couldn't pretend and ignore his feelings for his best friend anymore. He wanted Clare. Loved her with all his might and being just friends with benefits was not good enough. Having an awful girlfriend to boot? Unacceptable. Clare would become his, body and soul. Clare and Oliver's journey is sweet, romantic, sexy and secretive. It will make you laugh and cry before it's over.
I liked this series of books and would definitely recommend reading this third installment after reading the other two books in the order of Sexy Berkley, Sexy Summers then Sexy Hart. All the characters are introduced in book one and stay around through book three. Bea and Daniel are favorites. Unlike book one and two, Sexy Hart presents too much of Clare's and Oliver's relationship too soon. From the beginning they are sexing each other at every turn as BFFs. The cat is out the bag at the start of the story so there is nothing to look forward to but disaster. Disaster happiness but for me it dampens the warmth and expectations looked for in this story. Sexy Hart as a stand alone does not have the strength of the other books but again it flows with the other books.
so the 3rd installment of the sexy series has arrived... and how I had been really looking forward to this book following the epilogue from book 2 both Clare and Oliver have always been very likeable and the love they share is very romantic and sweet. I would be lying if I didn't tell you that at times it was a little slow but the events in the last 1/4 make up for that... and I found a tear in my eye.... a really sweet and enjoyable book, great to be amongst this group of friends again... Sexy Summers is still my favorite book.. but that's because I see a bit of myself in Tilly I think lol!!! Another reel you in epilogue told from Alexia' s POV, leaves me looking forward to book 4, Sexy Love!! Well done Dani, another good instalment :)
It was fun to catch up the "Sexy" Friends. This time it was Clare and Oliver's turn for love. They have been Friends with Benefits off and on through the years. Now that Tilly is a mother, Clare has "baby fever" big time, too bad her pal and sometime lover is dating someone else, someone that is a real pain in the you know what! The scenes with Baby Emily were just so sweet. Gosh, I got such an urge to hold a baby while reading this story. This couple was Hot! Have to admit, I never thought about tolit sex until this book. Over-all this is a satifying read, with a suprise here and there, while other parts seem to drag on too long. The author throws in a few twist and turns, one of which will have you reaching for a tissue to dry a tear or two.
It's really cute but...... 1. The repetitive stuff was kind of annoying. We know already that you want a baby and a family. We know you don't want people to know that you are together. We know how HAWT Oliver is. We know that you are in love with baby Emily...... 2. Oliver is way too sweet. Actually all the guys in this series are too sweet. I like my Heroes to be alpha but attentive. In this series they're way too soft. 3. The thing that happened to Oliver was somewhat unnecessary to the plot. It got resolved pretty quickly to have the HEA ending it required. But it almost seem that the drama was shoved in for the sake of drama.
Anyway, it was still entertaining and it wasn't lost hours of reading. On to the next.....
The first thing I notice was the writing style of Dani Lovell in this particular series. First, it was always in holiday. Second, always in female point of view. Third, there's a plot, there's a conflict but lacking in twist. Oliver and Clare's story are more different from the two because somehow Dani Lovell give some hint from the second book but the sad part was as a reader you'll want to know how the things get started which the readers look forward knowing in this book but Dani Lovell fails to give those for us. But on a difference circumstances, in this book, yes, there's plot, there's conflict and yes there's a twist. Which I'll give credit to Dani Lovell.
I can't not say enough how much I just adore this series and the whole Sexy gang. Oliver and Clare are the sweetest of the bunch. You can't help but to just melt and swoon over Oliver. I laughed, I cried, my emotions were a wreck reading this. Every book in the series just gets better and better. You can't help but to get emotionally attached and fall in love with each and every character.
Brilliant story Dani!! I loved every second of it. Can't wait see what you got up your sleeve for Alexia and Sebastian.
Major book hangover after [staying up too late to finish] reading this one. I wasn't sure what to expect from Clare and Oliver's story but I absolutely loved it. Their relationship is the classic story of best friends wanting more but being scared to pursue it. While getting close to the end I knew something bad was going to happen but had no idea how heartbreaking and beautifully written it would be. Cannot wait for the next book to come out-even if Oliver and Clare won't play a major role I'm so excited to revisit some of my favorite fictional characters!!
This was the sweetest love story of the three of them. Clare and Oliver have been friends there whole lives (with Oli's sister Bea being her best friend and bakery partner) But neither one of them made the move to be more (even though they had a strong physical attraction and a few encounters) Oliver finally dates a mean girl that is so awful to Clare and he finally wakes up and sends her packing and he and Clare reveal their true feelings and secretly get married in Vehas and then Oli has an accident happen but it haa the happily ever after at the end. Have loved this whole series!!
Was really looking forward to this third installment of the Sexy series and boy did it deliver. Absolutely love the story of Oliver and Clare. It was everything I was hoping for and some. I don't want to give away anything but you definately need a box of tissues to hand! I was reading through tears thinking "how could you Dani" lol. All in all it was a super amazing love story that is well worth every penny.
This book, nay, this series, (so far) deserves a five star rating! Judging from her previous books in this series I am truly not surprised. It is well written. There is clear continuity through out (from book to book). I really love the humor cleverly interwoven into the fabric of this story. I am grateful to the author for not dedicating copious amounts of time rehashing the previous books. Thank you Dani Lovell for sharing your talent. YAY Clare and Oliver!
This one made me cry :( i was so sad after things happened with Olly my heart actually hurt a little bit not knowing what the outcome was gong to be. I say book 2 really got me open to the idea of Clare and Oliver together and they would make a good couple and that something was already going on with the two of them than just being best of friends. Now I am having to wait until Lex's story comes out.. ugh I'm on the edge of my seat waiting..... New Fav author Dani Lovell.
I am giving this book 3 stars because I found Clare to be very annoying. I understand she some Insecurities, but man there can only be so much a reader can take. She goes on and on and on about the past, and their "future". She does become more tolerable towards the end of the book. Oliver makes me swoon, I want a man like him, especially after certain people are no longer in the picture. Overall I'm happy everyone got their happy ending.
I can not recommend this book or the whole Sexy Series to you enough! It is so refreshing to read a book that is full of LOVE and HART (see what I did there?) Having so many books that are heavy, and this story does have it's fair share of drama. But all in all this book for me is about, finding that once in a lifetime love and never giving up on it!
omg...All the dishy men..phew. Daniel Luke and now Oliver. This is such a beautiful story ..so emotional Clare and Oliver your romance made me cry and I have never cried reading a story before. Want to read this again. I need to read more of the sexy series. Fantastic Dani :-) Can't wait to read book 4 Sexy Love
Not as hot and steamy as the first two books in the series, but it was a good book. Unlike the first two books, it felt like it took awhile for the book to really get going and the characters to connect. Once it did, though, I just kept wanting to read it to find out what happened next. Looking forward to book #4.
A fantastic read from author Dani Lovell. This is the 3rd book in the Sexy Series and I loved every bit of it.
Finally Oliver and Clare find a way to be together, despite a bitch of a girlfriend and their close friends and family. But how can they make sure their relationship is kept a secret and will anyone them out?
