You've heard their stories. You've felt their pain. Now, in this thought-provoking conclusion to Small Circles, the characters we've come to love are faced with an abundance of difficult choices. It's time for each of them to choose a path, but who's to say which is the right one? Between a wedding, a pregnancy, a disappearance, and a disturbing dream turned reality, there are an infinite number of ways this story could end. But there is a limit to every infinity, and everyone has a breaking point.
Hello, Goodreads people! I'm an independent author based out of Nashville, TN. I write about young people with issues. It is my belief that everyone deserves to be happy, no matter who you are or what you believe. I'm best known for my coming of age novel, Small Circles. You can find it through most online distributors, including Amazon, iBooks, and B&N.com. If you like to read about teenage drama, my books are your holy grail. You also might know me by my Bethyl fan-fiction from The Walking Dead. You can find it on AO3 under my username: rednecksaints. Currently working on my first fantasy series! Happy reading! xx
I got an ARC to review from the author, but all opinions are my own.
Well... here it is. The last book in the Small Circles series. Ending a series is always tricky, because it has to be done in such a way that everyone's storylines wrap up realistically without the "Oh please, I saw that coming 80 pages ago" effect. But Megan did it. Infinite Limits had me laughing, smiling, and crying, all within the space of 206 of pages. Possibly even more so than the previous books. When my ARC arrived in the mail, I squealed like a little girl and started reading immediately.
There was so much character development in this book, from everyone. Everyone from Audrina to Silas had difficult choices to make about their futures, and for the most part, everyone chose correctly. They chose their paths, and stuck with them. I was especially torn over Paxton's struggle. He was dealing with so much in this book, and I was worried he might not make the right choices. Now granted, he brings a lot of his problems on himself, but I was so proud when he tried to get his life together and save his relationship with Jade. So. Much. Character. Development. Even Carter, who's usually a jerk (and still kind of is) stepped up to help Jade when she told him what had happened. And Audrina? She found someone who loved her, and helped her break away from Pax for good.
Gah, my babies. I was just so proud of all of them. And I'm proud of Megan for writing such an amazing conclusion to an amazing series. Also, it's safe to say that almost none of my predictions from the beginning of the week came true.
Of all the things that happened in Infinite Limits, the thing that made me cry the most was Silas and Larson's relationship. See, the one-year anniversary of Owen's death rolls around during this book, and Larson isn't dealing with it particularly well. Silas accepts that he's not ready to talk about his boyfriend's death yet, and instead silently supports him until Larson can accept it himself. And when he finally says he's ready to talk about it, Silas listens.
I'm giving this book a well-deserved 5 stars. And even though I'm sad the series has ended, I know it's not really over. The story will continue to live on in the hearts of the readers.
This is the type of book (series) you want to hug and never let go of because if you do you feel as if you're going to break. In short, it was everything you'd expect but better. Megan Dukes explores the life of a teenagers life in a new light that allows the reader to connect with the characters but most importantly it makes you FEEL something. This is a conclusion you do not want to be missing...
I would first like to take a moment to thank the author, Megan Duke. Thank you for writing such a breathtaking and emotional series. There are books that of course are thoroughly enjoyable and are meaningful to you, but then there are those that stay with you long after you have finished reading the book. I know it's such a cliche phrase, but this is one of those stories. I finished this book Sunday morning and I wasn't able to write a review right away, which is when I typically do. There were just so many things that happened with the characters that left me in a ball of emotions, that it has taken me a few days to finally get my thoughts together about how I felt about this book (as well as the series in all). "The amount of emotions one can feel and the variety of thoughts one can imagine are endless." Paxton Graham Small Circles I think that my boy Paxton knows what I'm talking about. So here goes. As soon as I opened this story, I was pulled right back into the lives of characters that I have grown to care so much for over the past few months (yes, I began this series in August/September). The story pretty much leaves off from the events of Three-Sixty. So of course, if you haven't read Three-Sixty, you won't know what I'm talking about, or what is happening in Infinite Limits. Once again, Megan writes in that unique manner by not dividing the book into typical chapters, but certain times of the year, i.e. months. This allows readers to appreciate the significance of the time in which the events occur. I think that this story was unique to the others, because you read about what happened with a character, but the the story back tracked to offer up another characters perspective on the same situation. I typically come across this in books written in first person POV, but not third person POV. And due to the smooth transitions in this story, I wasn't left confused about where the story was going. I think the transition from about characters in high school to to being young adults was well written and very believable. Teenagers and young adults can easily relate to the characters and their struggles because everyone at one point in their life has felt lost and or is struggling to find and become the person they were meant to be. First off, as a part of the blog tour, Megan asked us to post our predictions about what we think will happen. Based on my four predictions, one was COMPLETELY off, which I figured was the case. One was fairly obvious, but didn't turn out how I expected it to be. One was completely correct. And the last prediction was correct on some level. Oh, and by the way, what I said above in NO WAY matches the order of my predictions from my first post (you'll just have to read the book to find out).
Now what I liked about the character storylines. It was unbelievable how many things the characters went thru during the time in Infinite Limits. Throughout the book, the characters continue to experience the pain of losing Owen the previous year. I felt so sorry for Larson, because while he was beginning a relationship with Silas, he still struggled with his feelings towards Owen and losing him, and he didn't know if he was betraying Owen's memory by being in a relationship with Silas. It was PAINFUL reading about Larson and how much he struggled. I really wanted to talk to him and give him giant hugs and tell him everything's going to be okay in the end. Do you think Larson will find his happy ending? Paxton and Jade. Poor Jaxton! My favorite couple continued to struggle with the aftermath of the summer regarding Paxton and his annoying (my opinion) and frustrating (my opinion) with Audrina. Paxton and Jade continued to walk on eggshells with one another. Again, it was heartbreaking seeing the two of them struggle and get the to point where it was difficult just being NEAR one another. Their relationship in this book was very reminiscent of their relationship back in Small Circles. I'm going to back track for a minute. In Small Circles, Paxton uses the drugs and the need to "drown" in order to escape the pain of seeing his father after he committed suicide. I felt that Paxton was going through the same turmoil after losing Owen, but with the added element of not letting Audrina go and to move on from the past (I really hope that makes sense). Unlike high school, Jade just could not be there for him 100%. I think that Jade was just so hurt and heartbroken, she just couldn't be there for him, until she felt like herself again. They both needed to let go of some part of their past in order to move on and be together. It is true that being in a relationship, sometimes the best thing is to take care of oneself first before you can try to take care of aa significant other. Both Jade and Paxton, showed personal growth, even though they had to be seperate in order to do so. I liked the way in which it took one character to fully let Paxton go (can you guess who?) and move on with their life in order to help Paxton move on with his life. I know that there were other parts to Paxton's story, but I thought this was the most heartbreaking part. Wonder if Paxton and Jade ever make it? READ IT AND FIND OUT! Oh and just wait until you read a scene involving a school and a swimming pool (think back to Small Circles). I'm honestly going to stop there because I don't want to reveal too much. You will see a lot of personal growth and acceptance among the characters. They will make difficult decisions but in the end, it was the best decision for them to have made. Even through the pain, heartbreak, and loss, it really is "ok to be happy." Please, please, please go read this series!!!
*I received an arc from the author in exchange for an honest review* I told myself I wouldn't cry... It didn't last very long. There are so many emotional parts in this book, I was almost overwhelmed. I went from grinning like an idiot to bawling my eyes out. I even laughed out loud at school while reading it... Trust me, the awkwardness was real. But, all things considered, this book is absolutely heartwarming. After reading Small Circles and realizing that Megan isn't afraid to break her readers hearts and stomp all over them, I have to admit that I was a little scared at how things were going to turn out in Infinite Limits. Luckily, Megan did not disappoint. The conclusion left me teary-eyed; but unlike after Small Circles, these were good tears. I'm so glad that everything falls into place in this book. All of the characters find their peace, and I found my peace with them. It just fits together. It's kind of amazing how all the loose ends in the other books come together in this book. Overall, I am overjoyed that all of my beloved characters in this series got the happy ending they deserve. Although it's bittersweet to see their stories come to an end, I know that, for as long as I live, I will never forget these characters and the impact they had, and continue to have on my life. Thanks, Megan, for sharing this story with the world. And remember, everyone: It's okay to be happy.
So sad that this is the last book to this wonderful story. I just can't believe it's over.
It's hard to review a book without giving spoilers!!! I'm so glad I was able to get an arc because I don't think I would have been able to wait. This book was perfection in 206 pages.
Anyways, this book was the perfect conclusion to Small Circles. I couldn't have asked for a better way to end the stories of these characters that we have grown to love. It was so real and I loved that.
The way everyone matured in this book was great. They're in their twenties now and have gone through some really messed up stuff but they have overcome their struggles and I believe it has made them better people.
The emotions I felt reading this book were out of control. I would go from laughing to crying within pages and I liked that. It shows that life can change in an instant.
Owen is referenced a lot which makes me happy. I'm glad he isn't forgotten because he is one of the most important characters in this book.
Megan is such an inspiration. After the last page of the book, you will see why.
Overall I give this book 5 stars because it truly deserves that and more. I wish I could talk more about this book but that would mean spoiling it for the rest of you that are planning on reading it next month.
