It's been six months since their moonlit kiss on Parfield beach.
But Dillon is still avoiding Jasmine & he's due to leave town soon.
Can she make him see the glaring truth in front of his dark eyes?
Or will he turn his back on the truest thing he's ever known...?

Not all scars are visible. And some run so deep... only love can heal them.

'Firefighters With Hearts' (Book Two). What happens when a ripped alpha firefighter meets a curvy girl with her sights set on love? Twisting, turning, inspiring. No cliffhangers. A must read for anyone who believes that true love will ALWAYS win... no matter what.

DILLON:
Aged thirty-seven, I honestly believed that people like me don’t deserve happiness. But all that changes when my heart is stolen in the time it takes to lift my head.

The stunning stranger with fiery red hair is walking behind the bride-to-be. Her dress accentuates her shapely hourglass figure and I can’t steal my eyes from her angelic curves.

I’m supposed to be leaving town soon. I’m supposed to head back home.

I want to listen to my heart. I want to spend my life looking into her emerald green eyes.

But it’s my fault she’s in hospital and maybe my dad was right all along. All I create is chaos and suffering. Maybe I should leave town after all…

JASMINE:
I’ve seen it in movies. I’ve read about it in books. That inexplicable moment in time when a girl knows she’s met The One. And when Dillon Moore awkwardly introduces himself on the evening of my best friend’s wedding… I know I’m falling.

Combined with his masculine physique and six foot six inch frame, the way he looks at me melts my heart. An hour later, when we pull away from our magical first kiss… I see pain in his eyes.

Trapped deep behind the white teeth of his perfect smile, he’s hiding something. And when he bolts… I struggle to fight back a wave of tears.

I know I’m not wrong. I know this is as real as it gets. And I know he knows it, too.

But if he won’t admit it and just be honest with me, maybe it’s best if he does leave town…

Dillon and Jasmine meet at a friend's wedding with instant attraction and finally it seems something is going right.
After that night when Dillon suddenly pushed her away, she wonders what went wrong.
Dillon is damaged from regular belittling from his father which has scarred him and influenced his decisions especially in this case.
He believes Jasmine could find someone better and he won't find happiness.
Can she show him that he can?

I loved this book but it was fairly heartbreaking and consumed by doubt.
They have an unbelievable chemistry but Dillon can't escape from the memories and thoughts in his head that mean he removes himself from the happiness he could have.
Jasmine is the perfect woman for him and each character is well written in this romantic read.
I thought this was an absolute gem of a story and I can't wait for the rest of the series.
A beautiful book that grabbed at my heart and squeezed it.

This was my first book from Sophie and I really enjoyed it. Dillon is a man struggling to overcome his rough childhood and believe that he deserves more from life. When he meets Jasmine that struggle becomes front and center. She’s everything he doesn’t think he deserves. He can’t get his father’s ugly and abusing words out of his head. Between a stutter and his fear of becoming like his father, he has a hard time believing he deserves happiness.

Jasmine is a curvy red headed goddess wanting to give Dillon love. After they meet at her best friend’s wedding they share the perfect kiss but nothing else. Luckily they get another chance and Dillon pushes away his fear to take it. When Jasmine needs rescuing from a fire, Dillon blames himself for her being in danger. He needs to get out of his own head if it’s going to work for these two this time around. Read their story and find out what happens. It’s a perfectly written ending so you should definitely check it out.

Jasmine and Dillon met at their best friends wedding. Sparks flew and Jasmine hoped it would be the start of something special. However by the end of the evening Dillon pushed her away telling her she deserved someone better than him. Five months have passed and Dillon regretted his decision. His abusive father made him feel unworthy and made him worry that he will grow up just like his dad. Dillon was planning to return to his hometown leaving his best friend behind. However his feelings for Jasmine makes him want to actually give it a try. He begs her for another chance. Jasmine gives in. Hopefully this time Dillon's past won't ruin his future.

Dillon and Jasmine's Story . . .

Firefighter Dillon Moore saw Jasmine Lloyd at his friend’s wedding and immediately wanted her in his life. She also is very attracted to him, but he has a great deal of emotional damage from his childhood and his father’s telling him he doesn’t deserve happiness. Therefore, feeling the connection to Jasmine, his first reaction is to run away.

Now he just walked into Bar Neo five months after the wedding, and Jasmine still feels the strong attraction. Will she make a move to convince him that he is worthy and desired, and he doesn’t have to run away this time? Can she show him she will be there for him if he just reaches out?

Dillon and Jasmine were briefly introduced in the first book, Caesar, and I am soooo glad they get their own book! Dillon has a lot of emotional baggage from his childhood and Jasmine is just the right one to help him through it, despite his tendency to run away from things. The supporting characters in this were fantastic and I need everyone's stories to be written! Love that Caesar and Gemma make appearances in this book and I hope they and Dillon and Jasmine make appearances in subsequent books.

I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.

This is the second book in the Alpha Firefighters series, fast-paced and quick to read. This standalone novella is well-written, plenty of fun and sassy moments between Dillon and Jasmine. Both characters are really charming and have a sizzling chemistry between them. Entertaining story.

Enjoyable read.

This is Dillon's story. Best to read in sequence as you meet Dillon and Jaz in the previous book.

Dillon meets Jaz at his best friend's wedding, but whenever he has a connection with someone he runs away because of his past.

What a tender, beautiful love story, with surprises that will melt your heart. Dillon is so scared of failing at love. Jasmine is his soulmate. She won’t let the embers of their love die, and fans the flames when Dillon tries to back away.
This book is absolutely amazing. I met Jasmine and Dillon in the first book of the “Firefighters with Hearts” series, and wanted them to find their HEA. I am so glad they did.
This is a standalone book, with no cliffhanger. Characters from the first book are weaved throughout this book, and I believe the couple from the next book is introduced, but this is still clearly a standalone.
I didn’t figure out that this series takes place in the UK until partway through this wonderful book. I kept looking up unfamiliar words, to discover they are British. I noticed that the spelling of some words were not American English. Then there was a mention of money (pounds) in this story and that’s when I realized the setting is not California like I assumed. That somehow made this series even more special to me.
The author has a gift of writing that really makes me feel connected to the characters, the setting, and the story. It had the perfect amount of love-making, angst, surprises, and a fabulous ending.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND treating yourself to this book, and this AWESOME series.

This is the 2nd book in the Firefighters With Hearts series featuring the sweet tale of overcoming childhood trauma and forgiveness between Dillon and Jasmine. Dillon is at a wedding when he's struck by cupids arrow losing his heart to the gorgeous red-haired goddess walking behind the bride. Jasmine knows as soon as Dillon finishes his awkward introduction that he's the the one for her but after the beauty of their magical first kiss she can sees the pain in his eyes. Jasmine knows that he's hiding something behind his perfect smile so when he runs she struggles not to cry. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this sweet tale of overcoming childhood trauma and forgiveness between Dillon and Jasmine to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book.

Loved the Second Book in the Alpha Firefighters series about Jasmine and Dillon. The characters are well written and are relatable. The storyline flows smoothly and grabs you so you want to turn the page to find out what is happening. It is well written, has fun and sassy moments. Dillon did not have a very good childhood and allows those memories to affect his life. When he meets Jasmine, they have a connection but he is not willing to let himself get involved with her. The story is a sweet romance with strong chemistry between Dillon and Jasmine who has a big heart and proves he is better than he thinks. It is a fast paced and quick read and can be read as a standalone. Great read for those that love short romance reads with HEA.

Jasmine and Dillon met at a wedding, although they had a great time and an amazing connection, at the end of the night Dillon pushed her away. Dillon's past is still haunting him, making him feel that he does not deserve anything good. Months later, Dillon can't get Jasmine off his mind, and when they reconnect, he begs for a second chance.

Jasmine and Dillon's story is a sweet romance with strong chemistry and a big heart, as Jasmine proves he is better than he thinks. Great addition the series.

What a great story this was, we are taken into the journey that Dillon and Jasmine are on. They met at a wedding and the chemistry and attraction between them was amazing. They got along so well that you thought they were in for a steamy night, but things turned out differently and he pushed her away. He regrets what he did and wants a second chance, will he get it and will Jasmine give it to him when they meet again? I enjoyed their story and I definitely recommend this book.

Entertaining read.

Book 2 in the series.
Although it's not imperative to have read book 1 first, the stories/characters do intertwine so it could be useful!
Another easy read from this author.
It's not overly in-depth, in so much as it's the kind of book you can easily return to should you have something alternative on your plate or experiencing constant interruptions.
So an ideal choice for a holiday read, especially around the pool.

Dreams come true. Dillion is the best man at her best friend's wedding. But there are things that stops Dillion and Jasmine from making the connection. As the new deputy firefighter, Dillion wants but stays clear from her. the past and future collide. short story. Truths, action pack and the mystery fire starter is on the loose. liked it. no cliff.

Jasmine works in a bar with Gemma. She meets Dillon at Gemma’s wedding.
Dillon meets Jasmine at Caesar’s wedding, and he can’t stop thinking about her, but his demons prevent him from seeing things as they are.
This story was difficult to like at the beginning. I was not too fond of Dillon’s behaviour, although I could understand it. I liked Jasmine’s determination. 3 stars and a half.

I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this quick story about Jasmine and Dillon. She meets him at her best friend's wedding, she's the maid of honor and he's the best man. They hit it off, but his past scares him to jump the other way. When he decides to give it a shot, fate plays a cruel trick. Great HEA.

I wanted to love this book but there were just so many things wrong with it. The grammatical errors were beyond annoying, this mixing up of characters is just confusing, and while I know different places have different words for things I am fairly certain that no one calls polka dots, poker dots......I am glad it was a short read.

Sweet story of forgiveness. Dillon was a product of his past and thought he had nothing to offer Jasmine. Jasmine knew a thing or two about the past. Loved how she helped him see that the past isn’t always what you remember.

Dillon saw Jasmine at his best friend's wedding. He wanted to know her, but feels he only brings pain to loved ones. Jasmine is willing to fight for him.

Abusive parents, childhood trauma, self-image, forgiveness, and letting go. Excellent book that touches issues that are often hidden behind closed doors.

A must read series…. I thought book 1 was good, but book 2 was so much better.
Book 2 - Dillon, from the Firefighters with Heart series showed how people think that they are a product of their parents and this thinking can lead to dramas in life, but love still conquers all. I read this straight after the first book and this series makes you feel. Mesmerising novel that I could not put down til the end. Sophie Spark, I am so glad I found you. Loved everything about this great romance novel. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

A 2 POV story about a firefighter who falls for the girl only to respond as he always has. The tale builds upon the characters strength and flaws with a dose of life thrown in for good measure. There is inclusion of previous characters and continuation of their stories but the drama is centered on the 2 main characters. There is a very satisfying ending.
