Stevens has such a way with words, I can feel the chill in the walls at frog's gutter. The game that Stevens plays with little Emma belies the disdain that he tries to convince he fells for two legged, non feathered creatures. I loved getting to know Genghis, a regal gyrfalcon, and panicked as I began the final, short chapter with the great bird still missing in the mist...spoiler alert, but i doubt that any of you will read this as the book is not readily available and the copy I read was borrowed from the bookshelf of my Falconer friend. I was so pleasantly surprised as anyone to see Genghis fly back to his human friend.
