The Rowan community is in hiding, but another seismic event is about to restore their powers - and unlock the mystery behind the rowan tree's supernatural forces in this enthralling sci-fi novel.

The CIA's devastating attack on the rowan tree and its growing global community has left its members in survival mode. The loss of their unique abilities was a huge blow, and they have been in hiding for the past eleven months.

Sensing another huge, transformational event involving the rowan's supernatural forces is about to happen, journalist Valentina Garnier travels to England where a stunning event occurs at an ancient circle of stones close to Stonehenge - one which will finally reveal the truth behind the rowan tree's mysterious power. Is it really an existential threat to humanity, or a cry for help from an alien life force?

This page-turning novel with magical and mysterious supernatural forces at its heart is perfect for fans of V. E. Schwab and Ben Aaronovitch.

I received an arc of this book not realising it was part of a series and
is in fact book 3 . Understanding the worldbuilding , the characters
and their place within the ever changing world you really need to
read the previous books
That being said I did manage to work my way through this compelling
story without too much difficulty .
The storyline of aliens reaching out to Earth is not new but the manner
of the message is different to the norm - putting a new slant on the idea
of "we are not alone "
It emphasises the problem of Governments who see enemies in anyone
who does not conform to their mantras , who will stoop to any level to
demonise those who do not agree with them , silencing them if they can
...... just so that they can retain their own personal powerbases .
I loved the idea of one separating from the whole , sacrificing themselves
to get a message out , asking for help "we are dying " - this is not something
humans as a species , with noble exceptions , would normally do ....... self
preservation being paramount , fear of the unknown and change can be a terrible thing
Having read this book in one long sitting and enjoying it so much I will be reading
the previous books to fully understand the backstory and look forward to the
next book in the series ............ I hope to meet these aliens who so far appear to be benign ??

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

Spoiler free review** Recieved as an Arc and unfortunatly also didnt know this was part of a series. but after reading the book i would highly reccomend reading all books. i still really enjoyed this and plan to go back and read the other two books. its an alien based fantasy read, its got that real us and them theme that runs through that actually had me very invested, the world was fairly easy to follow considering i hadnt read the previous books. if you are interested in Alien fantasy i would highly reccomend this trilogy, i found that i was invested fairly early on and thought it was a really thought provoking read! 3.5 rounded up

Great story

I love how the story changes things in an odd twist. I really want maybe four or five more chapters to finish answering the questions I still have.
