Truths were excellent. Book was incredibly short—a very manageable help for even the least inclined reader. Illustrations and suggested resources less localized would make a stronger read for those not in the States. I would have loved to have more Scripture for each of the points. Timeless, powerful, and without boundaries!

Book review: 4/5 stars I liked this simple book with its 4 truths for times of trouble. The four truths and recap chapter were my favorite parts. I felt that the book was helpful and simple. It had good Bible stories and good truths. I did though felt it dragged in the middle… maybe I was having an off day but I felt like I could and did put the book down. This book did not grab me like I hoped it would. I loved the truths it taught and found illustrations interesting but not compelling. I would recommend the book but with that reservation.

Biblical Thoughts for Troubled Souls

I appreciate Dr Berg’s approach. Simple, concise and to the point. That point being thinking Biblical. Biblical thought seems to be the goal of the author’s writing. Shallow emotional comfort has no room in this book. Thinking like Christ takes center stage.

Enjoyed it and would recommend to anyone who is serious about dealing with their troubles in a Christ-like way.

Helpful

A short book, easy to read. Not as in depth as some of Jim Berg's other books.

Super concise. Perfect for ministering to a person in crisis. I can see why my aunt who lost her 16yo son in an accident gives these out to others who suffer tragedies and losses. 🩵

4.5 Stars - I would have liked this to have been a little more comprehensive, but it is still an excellent guide on trusting God during difficult times and making the right choices that can be read in one sitting.

A little book with big punches. A great read for crisis counselling.

Excellent primer in dealing with, growing through, and preparing for hardship.

Main ideas are:
-The greatest danger is always the flesh
-The gospel is always the answer
-God's glory is always the goal
-God Himself is always enough
