I don't want to get married, but it's not like anyone has asked my opinion on it. I'm just an ornament for a powerful mob boss, nothing more. But I grab one night of freedom before my doom, and that night is the best of my life. It's where I meet him. And our first meeting is one I'll never forget.

A woman walks into a bar--that's the start of a joke for some; it was the start of a new life for me. This woman is mine. I know it in my bones, and I show her just how serious I am about my claim. But then she disappears. I scour the city to find her, only to happen upon her at her engagement party. Too bad for her would-be groom, she belongs to me now and forever.

I'm gonna keep my rants to myself because, maaan, this book's not it. Idk what went wrong here, but it was so... all over the place. And the things I hated the most? Hot and cold treatment and miscommunication, which happen to be so strongly present in this story. I just can't. 🙅‍♀️

Anyway, I didn't like it, except for the epilogue. But I'm still intrigued by Nikolai and Riley's book. So I'm still gonna wait for that. 🤷‍♀️

I didn't like a lot of the mmc's actions (mostly lack of communication) but the story was entertaining.

Sadly not it for me. 🥲

It felt pretty disjointed at times. I felt like I missed when they fell in love with each other. It’s insta love but then he thinks she set him up to fall for her, so he kind of avoids her but eats her out every night? And then one day they’re just getting married? Where was the getting to know each other?

The end promised some action but then felt really abrupt and then suddenly it was the epilogue.

So overall not my favorite, but I did like her relationship with her sister who is getting a book! And I did appreciate the dual v and that Matteo wasn’t the usual manho!

ANOTHER DUAL VIRGINS STORY!! *obligatory booty shake and happy dance!* Thank you Lucy Darling, thank you!!
Safe
No cheating
No OW
Unwanted OM
Separation of a few weeks and three more days
No gross condom use
No third act break up
HEA

I have to admit, that I was a bit apprehensive at first of Matteo. I did not like him because he was a jerk to our heroine, Mona. Mona is the daughter of an Irish mob family, doomed to marry Vincent, another mobster. She wants one night with a man to give her virginity away, because she doesn't want to give it to the man she is forced to marry. She wishes that she can fall in love and have a family, but she feels trapped and doomed to marry a man she does not want, so knowing that in this life she can't have that, she decides that she can give her virginity away, making it her choice. I have to admit that I did not like that she was wanting to throw it away, but I understand that she felt doomed to this life, unable to find a way to free herself from her mafia family.
She goes to a club and bumps into Matteo, a powerful Italian mobster/ rival of the Irish mob, but she does not know who he is. He does not know who she is either. All they know is that they feel attraction and they fall for each other. Instalust is present, sparks fly, and they hurry to his office, and have sex. Something happens and she disappears, leaving Matteo seething and desperate, not knowing where his woman is. He looks for her incessantly, only to accidentally see that she is the bride of one of his rivals, plus, she IS the daughter of his family's rival. He is angry thinking that she knew who he is from the start and used him for sex, so he kidnaps her, is mean to her, sends her mixed messages being angry but he cannot help but pleasure her every night, only to then leave her alone in the bed. I loved that he was that obsessed with her, but, I thought that it was all lust, and I felt so bad for her and how confused, hurt and angry she felt being treated this way. That soured my feelings toward him to the point of hating him, until his personal past (or lack there of rather) is revealed. He starts to open up, and tells Mona that he stayed away from women all his life, and that she is his one and only. They sit face to face, and he reveals his secret.
Quote,
“I’ve never had a mistress in my life, Mona.” He scoops me up into
his arms, carrying me over to the bed.
“Then, what did you have?”
“Nothing.”
“Nothing?” How could that be? I mean, he’s so damn handsome and
powerful.
“Nothing,” he repeats
end quote.
Quote,
"Growing up, I saw the lure of
women to the men all around me. It was always their weakness. So I
avoided it. I never gave in to the idea of having one for myself.” Her
eyes widen.
“As in, ever?”
“Ever.” I confirm what she is thinking. I'm sure she finds it hard to
believe. I found my release in other ways. Fighting was one way, and
I see the same in Nikolai. “Then, there you were.” I sink my fingers
into her hair. “I knew you were the one, but I wasn’t ready to admit it
to myself yet. I was angry with myself for having the very weakness I
swore I never would.” I lay it all out there for her because it’s the
truth."
end quote.
When that was revealed, my eyes lit up, I stood up straight, and my scowl turned into a full blown smile! I was SO happy! She is his first and he is her first in all ways!! It is amazing how DV (safe always), just makes a love story instantly better! Right then and there is when I felt the love. Right then and there I fell for Matteo! I think if he weren't a virgin I would hate the book, because then sex would mean nothing to him. But because he saw her, knew she was the one, and indulged in intimacy for the first time with our heroine, it changes my perception of our hero. Matteo equates sex with love, because the one and only time he has felt lust for a woman, is with our heroine whom he already claims as his forever and for me that is the definition of swoon worthy romance.
It never fails that when our hero experiences all his firsts with our heroine, it makes me swoon for him, so I quickly forgave how he was with her at the start. They had passion, but also his mind went haywire not understanding all these emotions coursing through him; want, passion, love, obsession, lust, sexual desire. Of course! He never felt them before for anyone, all of this is new to him! I was fully on board with their romance, and of course, Matteo becomes more loving to his Mona, and that just made the story worth while. I understood him, I felt for him, and I rooted for them both! Yes, they have a beautiful happily ever after!
One little complaint, Lucy Darling mixed up the names of the characters at a couple points in the story, so it confused me a bit, but I figured out who said what to whom with context clues.
Next up we have Nikolai, a Russian 18 year old with tattoos and a grumbly attitude, paired with Mona's sister, Riley, an almost 18 year old, quiet girl who is fiercely protective of her sister, and cannot see a thing without her glasses. These two already have SO much palpable chemistry already, and because they are so young, I am praying Lucy Darling gifts us with another Dual Vcard couple with Nikolai and Riley. It is hinted that Nikolai is the same as Matteo, using fighting as a way to relieve sexual tension, so we may have another DV. *crossing fingers and toes* Please Lucy, more Dual Vcard love stories, pretty please! We crave them and you write them so well!
I know who Nikolai reminds me of! He reminds me of Knox, the hero in Lucy Darling's book, "Beauty and the Outcast", one of my favorite DV high school romances! I recommend that read too since I remember it fondly. I have read it countless times and now want to reread it!
I recommend this love story and I cannot wait for our next couple!
Happy reading everyone!

Jerk mmc , weak fmc

Stupid, naive, weak, no backbone. That's just a few ways to describe the fmc. N the mmc. A bully a jerk, a cold-hearted punk. No real man would have treated a female like that. I liked the other two books but hate one. She allowed that jerk to treat her like cruel n she lets him do anything to her. Pathetic us what she is . Waated my time with reading characters like this . Burns my biscuit ls. I don't get it. Why not let her put him in his place. Did not like this book at all .

Fast paced & Entertaining read🥰

I ate this one up! The dramatics of it all was so entertaining, but the romance finally getting its time to shine after Mona and Matteo aired out all the problems was so sweet & steamy. Their love language was definitely physical touch because they could not keep their hands off of each other, and I loved that for them and the cruel worlds they came from. The book was a good read, and I’m anticipating the next book so much!

steamy hot love story

I loved this over the top sinful steamy story. Mona wants to run away from her mob family and a forced wedding but can’t so she decides to get rid of her virginity not realizing that the man she gave it to is Matteo, a man who runs his own mob. Fast paced, lots of intrigue and steamy hot. Loved it.

If there was ever a reason I thought this was written at least in part by AI it has to be the whole Matteo/Luca confusion. I honestly didn't know who Luca was as he is only mentioned 4 times in the book but it's clear that he is also Matteo. Why is his name even in the book? It's only an issue I've ever run into with AI chats where they decide at some point to change the character's name. I mean the only other option is the author herself forgot the name of the mmc... on the same exact page.

Aside from that, some of the conversation is a bit weird or confusing, whether it is because the replt doesn't make sense or there may be a word or something missing.

Now the story itself isn't horrible, and you would think at 90 pages it would be a breeze to get through but it was actually hard to stay focused. Mona should've tried, at least in some shape or form to run, but nope, she just kept giving him her body to do whatever with. I get she was attracted to him and all but knowing who he was, and being kidnapped by him should've at least had her trying to hold off with any intimacy. Especially after the whole bit where his men were talking about her being an O'Hare and how their boss would never marry her. Seriously, she should've done something other than the whole lot of nothing she did. And let's talk about Matteo/Luca for a minute. For someone who never drank prior because of his father and then going on these alcohol binges... yeah, sorry, not buying that you aren't like him at all. He goes from one extreme to the next and it's stupid. I get the author was trying to show that Mona was literally driving him insane but still...

Anyway I couldn't wait for it to be over and I'm not sure I'll read the second one in the series even though I have it.

A mix of cute and dark romance in this novella that makes for a couple of hours of fun.

I liked several things about this short story. The meet-up at the club of a dangerous man who falls really hard for a beauty who stumbles into his territory. The vanishing act only to come up with shocking secrets, a bit of forced proximity, a threatening environment, lots of lust and some secondary characters that add flavour to the enemies-to-lovers cliché.

I liked that some of the things Matteo uses to keep Mona in check come back to bite him, and Mona's sister provided some sweet background. Also, the epilogue. So, so cute!

My reviews always contain spoilers, I write them so I can remember the story.

Matteo is a mafia don who meets Mona a rival families mafia princess at his club. They don’t know each other but they are in lust at first sight, He takes her up to his office and they have sex on his desk. Mona is a virgin, she has been promised to another rival mafia family to form an alliance against Matteo.
Before they can even exchange names Mona escapes. But during sex Mona unfortunately says: “Don’t stop; this is why I’m here.” Matteo at the time only hears don’t stop. Later when he finds her at her to be engagement party to a rival lower level mafia son he thinks that her family sent her to him to trap him.
Mona meant it as she wanted some control over her life, she wanted her first taste of freedom and sex to be with who she choose, not who her cruel father and brother choose. They control her and her younger sister, Riley.
Matteo takes Mona from the party and locks her away in his master bedroom. He hates her and craves her in equal measure. His hot and cold routine got old real quick. He would come to her each night and giver her oral but would not have sex with her. She in turn acted like a brat at times, but I didn't really blame her. These two really needed to talk to one another.
Before Matteo took Mona she had found out she was pregnant from their time on his desk. But she hasn’t told him and hides it.
Still locked in his house he finds out she wants to talk to her sister, he does one better he kidnaps Riley and brings her to the house. Not sure how he did that, Mona and Riley were pretty much locked in their father’s house with very little freedom to come and go as they please. So how were his men able to get Riley?
When Mona experiences morning sickness he finds out she’s pregnant. He wonders why she never told him since she had to know before she was taken by him. She tells him she was afraid, he tells her that he’s afraid of her, no one has ever had power over him like she does. They actually have an honest conversation and he confesses that he was a virgin their first time too. He asks her to marry him and she agrees.
He takes a few men to go end her father and brother leaving the sisters at his condo in town. They are protected by a Nikolai, a Russian young man who Matteo has sort of adopted and treats him like family.
Her family has be eliminated and she and Riley are safe. Epilogue years later later with kids and them happily married.
The second book will be Nikolai and Riley, they are both very attracted to each other but she think he hates her and he thinks she hates him due to some misunderstandings.

Who dees peoples giving this book four or five stars?! Lololololol whaaaaaaaaat da fuq? Did they read the same book I did?!

I didn't mind the beginning of the book but it sounds like all the other sheltered mafia princess books (cough *Adelaide Forrest* cough) where they go out for one night before they're trapped in a love less arranged marriage 😐

She meets the mafia king dude guy and he's instantly in lovelust. Same for her. She like him. So they fuck on his office desk and she gets pregnant. He gives two shits about wearing a condom 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔😂🤷😳 she runs off before he can find out her name, address, or birthday because they be fucking okur? And she doesn't even know his first name because they be fucking okur?!

Later on, he goes to a get together/party thing that her family and another family is having and he sees her. He finds out that the two families are trying to marry her off and she's set to be engaged to unite the two families. He takes/kidnaps her to his house and thinks she was sent by her family and treats her like shit, locked in his bedroom. OFC he can't stay away from her pusspuss so he eats her out every night but doesn't stay the night. He doesnt eff her again cuz he wants the pusspuss, but he hates her 😐😐😐😐😐🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄😐😐😐😐😐😐 dafuq. I was going to dnf at this point but its only like....100 pages or something so I kept going.... I shouldnt have.

It ends with her family trying to go after him and do murder, but mafia king dude guy kills them off pretty quickly. they have a family and a hea.

But.....the whole time I was thinking TALK TO EACH OTHER! Jaysus! He has all these accusations in his head about her, but he never ASKS if they're true! Great googly moogly......and he hates her so much for what? She didn't do anything! You could have ASKED her if she did! She's right there locked up in your room! 🤦🤦🤦🤦 but then he starts calling her his love in Italian and I'm like....wait, you hated her one chapter, three sentences ago 🙄🙄🤔🤔🤔

anyhoo, if you see four or five star arc reviews, they lying. With their pants on fire. Dis book sucked.

4 stars only because he’s a virgin too

*SPOILERS*
This story was 50/50 to me.

First, he never lets any woman come close to him because of how he grew up, but when he sees Mona he simply takes her to his office with every intention of making her his. He doesn’t know her. He was always so careful to not let anything make him fall given his influence and power but just one look at her and he forgot about the dangers of letting a beautiful woman close? "What's this girl done to me? I’m not acting like myself, but I don’t care.” – Matteo. I don’t care? Hmmm. A powerful and dangerous mafia boss says he doesn’t care. It might sound romantic but it didn’t feel real to me.

And then, their first time was so rushed. He just made sure she was of age and plowed forward and without thinking she might be a virgin. He knew she was innocent but not that innocent!! So, he basically was rough with her in his first thrust and froze with her scream realizing she was a virgin. There were no other reassuring or sweet words during this first time. Also, her saying “this is why I’m here” definitely should’ve turned an alarm on in his mind. Didn’t like that she would’ve had sex with anyone there because she didn’t want to be a virgin when she got married to the other guy.

And then, there is the separation and the whole lot of misunderstandings. Yes, the “kidnapping” was hot and it definitely shouted how powerful Matteo really is. But, his lack of communication with her afterwards is angering. I felt angst with her by the way he was treating her - so distant, and she is pregnant, so her emotions would’ve been more intense. Making her think he was out with other women!! It was exasperating. Treating her like a traitor and liar.

All this misunderstanding and him doing things that made her think horrible things takes 50% of the book. They finally have a decent talk at 68% into the book, when he got notified by the doc that she was pregnant.

After that, we get possessive, alpha, jealous, powerful Matteo. We get all the things he would do for his girl. How obsessed he is with her. And the lengths he would go to to protect his little family.

I loved how he brought Riley, Mona’s sister to his protection. And seeing the same protectiveness from Nikolai, even jealousy with Sal, was pretty cool and a prep for the next book. That interaction when Nik finally saw Riley again in the condo was epic. “I want to see her.” Nik is impulsive, fierce. And so obsessed with Riley already!!

Anyways. The story has 2 parts: the first part which is exasperating and the second which is swoony.

SAFE
virgin/celibate/promiscuous: both virgins (he hasn’t even let anyone come near)
age gap: not much I guess
ow/om: no
separation/breakups: yes, for some weeks in the beginning and some days after the kidnapping
cheating/sharing: nope
possible triggers: violence, shooting, lack of communication, miscommunication, misunderstanding regarding visiting a strip club, a kind of imprisonment

Born into Sin is a fast-paced mafia romance that follows Mona O’Haire, a woman caught in a dangerous web of crime and power. With an arranged marriage looming over her, she seeks one last night of freedom—only to cross paths with Matteo Cattaneo, a ruthless and possessive man who becomes determined to make her his. Their connection is instant, but when he finds her again, it’s at her own engagement party. Refusing to let her slip away, Matteo takes control, setting up a whirlwind romance filled with tension, desire, and high stakes.

The story delivers a classic dark romance experience, with an alpha male lead and a heroine trying to carve out her own fate. The chemistry between Mona and Matteo is intense, and the book’s fast pace makes for a quick, engaging read. Fans of possessive heroes and mafia intrigue may enjoy the dynamic between the characters.

Though the novella is short, it manages to create a world of danger and passion that suits the genre. Born into Sin offers an easy, steamy read for those who enjoy dominant heroes and high-stakes romance.

𝐎𝐡, 𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐛𝐢𝐭, 𝐢𝐭'𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐨 𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐰. 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐝.

I’m in my novella and Lucy Darling era, and I am not mad about it.

Mona is supposed to get married soon, and she is not happy about it. All she wants is one night of freedom before she is married off. That’s when she meets Matteo, the mysterious man who sweeps her off her feet and leads her to his office, where they share a night neither of them will ever forget.

Born into Sin was a decent read, but it’s not my favorite in the series. Did I love how utterly obsessive and possessive he was of Mona? Of course. However, I did not like all the hot-and-cold behavior and miscommunication from him.

Nikolai and Riley's book is coming up next, and it was definitely my favorite in the whole series.

I read many reviews where people keep asking that why people are giving this book 5 stars and whether we are reading the same book or not.
So here are my reasons for giving this book 5 stars. Dual Virgin gets ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.
That it. That's my reason. Although it wasn't written outright that they were virgins, they both said that they had never done any of it. And multiple times it was mentioned they were never in any sort of relationship.
Also I saw someone mentioning about communication issue. But then there wouldn't be any story if they talked and sort it out. 🤷🏻‍♀️
I liked the MMC, FMC and side characters.

Egarly waiting for next book because it's again going to be a dual virgin. Yay!

I really liked this story. It was entertaining and enjoyable although I really wanted Mona to defend herself. Riley was super sweet but also protective of her sister. Mona was also protective of Riley. Matteo was over the top with his dedication to taking over his family and the family business. That dedication was soon focused on Mona even though it wasn’t what Matteo wanted. Mona wanted to escape her family but didn’t know how to do that so she had a little rebellion. Mona and Matteo were drawn to each other. They had some miscommunication and misunderstandings that caused drama and some angst but it resolved well. I loved their happily ever after. I recommend reading this book.

- A mafia romance.
- Touch her and die
- Hero obsessed
- Dual V
- Small miscommunication
- Novella
- Pregnancy trope

They meet at one of his clubs and have a ONS, she wanted to lose her V before marrying a guy her father picked out. She ends up pregnant.

H is obsessed form first meeting her, and search all over to find her. Only to find her when he hears about his two enemies families marrying together their kids. He shows up, and finds the h, and kidnaps her.
