Daring Joy - Bible Study for Women with Video Access: What Six Women in the Bible Teach Us About the Power of Celebration When It Feels Risky, Complicated, and Even Impossible
Something that always drives me a little nuts with authors is when they reference their previous books. It makes me feel as though they didn't really do the research for this one, and that is probably my biggest criticism of this study. I appreciate hearing about her personal experiences and how she has helped others in her line of work, but constantly hearing in her videos and in the study about "What If It's Wonderful" felt lazy to me. I also don't like the way Lifeway studies are set up and structured. I know that feels like more a personal preference than a useful critique, but I've gotten way more out of more in depth studies that dig more into the Word than the way these studies are set up. Finally, I was really excited about learning more about how God designed the brain to support joy in our lives. This came up occasionally, but ended up being an afterthought. Quite a bummer.
