يعود إلينا لي تشايلد ,الكاتب الأكثر مبيعاً لروايات الإثارة على قائمة جريدة النيويورك تايمز, برواية شيقة و مثيرة تُبقي القارئ على أعصابه لآخر صفحة. هي رواية بطلها الجندي المتقاعد جاك ريتشر ذو الطبع الهادئ والعزيمة القوية الذي عرفه القراء وأحبوه في روايات سابقة للي تشايلد. ففي "ما يحلو الموت لأجله", وفيما يجلس جاك ريتشر في حانة فندق بعد رحلة متعبة عبر ولاية نبراسكا, يسمع حديث دكتور يرفض معالجة امرأة كان أنفها قد كسر. وبتدخله لمساعدتها, أدخل نفسه في عالم عصابات آل دانكن التي تمسك بذلك الجزء من ولاية نبراسكا بقبضة من حديد, ولغز طفلة اختفت منذ خمسة وعشرين عاماً. "ما يحلو الموت لأجله" هي أحدث إضافة إلى سلسلة كتب لي تشايلد والتي وصفها الكاتب الروائي الشهير ستيفن كينغ بأنها "أحدث وأفضل سلسلة روائية شيّقة ما زالت تتوالى".

About the author

Lee Child was born October 29th, 1954 in Coventry, England, but spent his formative years in the nearby city of Birmingham. By coincidence he won a scholarship to the same high school that JRR Tolkien had attended. He went to law school in Sheffield, England, and after part-time work in the theater he joined Granada Television in Manchester for what turned out to be an eighteen-year career as a presentation director during British TV's "golden age." During his tenure his company made Brideshead Revisited, The Jewel in the Crown, Prime Suspect, and Cracker. But he was fired in 1995 at the age of 40 as a result of corporate restructuring. Always a voracious reader, he decided to see an opportunity where others might have seen a crisis and bought six dollars' worth of paper and pencils and sat down to write a book, Killing Floor, the first in the Jack Reacher series.

Killing Floor was an immediate success and launched the series which has grown in sales and impact with every new installment. The first Jack Reacher movie, based on the novel One Shot and starring Tom Cruise and Rosamund Pike, was released in December 2012.

Lee has three homes—an apartment in Manhattan, a country house in the south of France, and whatever airplane cabin he happens to be in while traveling between the two. In the US he drives a supercharged Jaguar, which was built in Jaguar's Browns Lane plant, thirty yards from the hospital in which he was born.

Lee spends his spare time reading, listening to music, and watching the Yankees, Aston Villa, or Marseilles soccer. He is married with a grown-up daughter. He is tall and slim, despite an appalling diet and a refusal to exercise.

ما يلحو لأجله الموت
عندما يبتلعنا الكتاب، عندما نترقب بشغف موت البطل كأنه الأمر المسلم الوحيد في العالم هذا ما ينبؤنا به العنوان نفكر! ثم تصدمنا الحقيقة... أحياناً يتخلى عنك جميع من حولك ويمسك بك القدر، هكذا بدأت الأحداث عندما أُنزل أحد ضباط الجيش السابقين المتجه إلى ڤيروجينا في إحدى القرى النائية ليكتشف احتكار عائلة دانكان (التي تعاقدت مع فلاحين المنطقة منذ سنوات لنقل محاصيلهم مقابل إعطائهم أجزاء من الأراضي) لحياة الفلاحين و آرائهم ... في محاولة منه ليكشف عن حادثة حدثت منذ خمسة وعشرين عاماً ويثبت تورط هذه العائلة بحادثة اختفاء إحدى الفتيات الصغيرات قبل ٢٥ عاماً.
تنظيم الكتاب ولغته مشوقة جداً كما أن تتابع الأحداث وشخصية البطل مثيرة لأبعد الحدود ، الإنسان الذي يقف مع الإنسان لمجرد كونه يتبع مبادئه بضرورة كشف الحقيقة.
يجعلك الكتاب تعيش حياة شخصياته رعب البعض ونقمتهم، انكسارهم و خوفهم ... يعيش الإنسان مع الشخصيات جسارتهم و اختباءهم يجعلك تنتقل إلى وضعية أشبه بمشاهدة فيلم يحمل ذكرياتك معه
هذا الكتاب يستحق أن يُقرأ لأنه كتب بقلب الكاتب وقلمه

الرواية جميلة نوعًا ما ، ولكنها -رغم كثرة واحتداد احداثها- تفتقد بالنسبة لي إلى عنصر التشويق الذي يُذهب الذهن والذي هو سيمة من سيمات الرواية الناجحة فعلًا .

This book is really interested, thou I'm not kinda of this type, but this one got me. It ends the way I wanted from the beginning, thou I didn't know the end will be that way, it was a surprising end.
