Another thrilling installment to the series. Taking a bit of a turn and focusing on a different setting, we still get the page turning allure of storytelling as we see things from a slightly different perspective, as the story follows more on Henrietta's growth as a character. Her character has really changed since the start of the series, and I just love how she has turned out.
And while watching the young queen navigate politics in a foreign court, we still have our original cast to keep the strategy building and espionage, like two sides of the same coin. Add in that whirlwind ending and a perfectly executed romantic subplot which hardly focuses on romance and is a clean read (there is romance involved, but think of it more as a tertiary storyline).
Overall? an excellent and engaging read that leaves me pining for the next one.
