Beware of charming warlocks with offers too good to be true and too dangerous to refuse. WINNER 2024 PRG READER'S CHOICE AWARD - BEST PARANORMAL "WITCHES & WIZARDS" ROMANCE!
ERIN For some, Sedona is an enchanting place to commune with red rocks and mystical vortexes. For me, it’s home, and my biggest goal is to climb the career ladder — literally — by becoming a hot air balloon pilot. But my dreams hit a snag when a trio of unexpected visitors shows up. Because those visitors aren’t exactly human, and they’re not just in town for the scenery.
Now, I’m dealing with a grouchy dragon shifter, a charismatic warlock, and a seductive vampiress with a thirst for power — and the same “taste” in men as me. Before I know it, I’m thrust into the middle of a supernatural showdown over land, power, and love. And I'm not just fighting for my job or my heart, but for everything I hold dear — my ranch, my life, and my family.
NASH Burned out? On the run from my past? As a dragon shifter, I prefer to call it a little time-out. A low-key job as ground crew for a local balloon company sounds perfect, but I wasn’t counting on Erin, my fiery, tough-talking boss whose troubles — and talents — run deeper than they first seem. Wind and fire behave strangely around her, and I doubt it’s freak weather patterns that have been stirring up a recent spate of storms.
Erin has managed to attract powerful enemies, but she’s not alone. With a ranch brimming with magic, her quirky sisters, and her Harley-riding warlock father, she’s got some strong allies — including me. So much for not getting involved or falling in love…
I wasn’t planning on staying in town for long, but with all the strange twists of fate that brought me here, I’m starting to think I’m exactly where I’m meant to be. “All” I have to do to ride into the sunset with the woman of my dreams is to vanquish my foes — and fears.
SPELLBOUND IN SEDONA Book 1: Wind Whisperer Book 2: Fire Dancer Book 3: Dream Weaver
Shifters, sorcery, and a sisterhood forged in fire!
USA Today and Amazon best-selling author Anna Lowe loves putting the "hero" back into heroine and letting location ignite a passionate romance. She likes a heroine who is independent, intelligent, and imperfect — a woman who's doing just fine on her own. But give the heroine a good man (not to mention a chance to overcome her own inhibitions) and she'll never turn down the chance for adventure, nor shy away from danger.
On any given weekend, you might find her hiking in the mountains or hunched over her laptop, working on her latest story. Either way, the day will end with a chunk of dark chocolate and a good read.
Series: Spellbound in Sedona #1 Rating: 4 stars - It was really good
Erin dreams of becoming a hot air balloon pilot and only needs one more flight to reach that status. But her dreams are put on hold when three new paranormals arrive in Sedona. She has to deal with a new coworker, a charismatic warlock making offers that are too good to be true, and a vampiress with a thirst for power. Erin finds herself thrust in the middle of a paranormal showdown where she realizes the truth about herself, finds love, and fights for her future.
This was an enjoyable new series that continues to expand this fantastic paranormal world that Lowe has created. Erin is a smart, capable, and determined woman who just wants to achieve her dream of being a hot air balloon pilot. I really liked her and how capable she was during everything that happened. Even when she didn’t know what she was doing she didn’t back down and never gave up.
Nash is a dragon shifter who is burnt out and searching for peace again. He was sweet and a little bit protective but knew to trust Erin’s abilities with wind and a balloon. I liked seeing him shed his depression-like state as the story progressed and come alive again. Nash and Erin’s relationship was fast paced and very sweet. This is a fated mates situation but it didn’t feel instantaneous, which I prefer.
The villain in this was pretty straightforward but I still enjoyed the whole thing. While I have read a lot of Lowe’s series, warlocks and vampires are not usually main characters or even mentioned so it was cool to learn more about them in this paranormal world. Like I said, this was just a fun story overall and I didn’t mind that it was straightforward.
Overall, this was a good start for a new series and I look forward to reading the next book. Also, Sedona seems like a fascinating place with its blend of paranormals and humans.

4.5 stars. Spellbinding start to a new series. I so love how this author can weave a tale that makes you wish you were at a specific place. Sedona sounds so beautiful and colourful. Add in the descriptive hot air balloon ride and we once again have this authors trademark fantastic way of taking you along for a wonderful ride to somewhere in the world. Very interesting tale, with likeable characters in Erin and Nash, and a baddie that was just eerie enough to make one cringe. The fact he also has a partner with a past link to Nash, gripping. Erin is a hot air balloon pilot, or she will be with just one more hour of flight time. This proves difficult, then extremely challenging. She has two sisters and a niece. The three sisters all have different fathers and that seems to be a story all on its own. They have semi dormant powers and a very powerful mystical vortex on their ranch, which is what the baddie is interested in. Nash was a bit closed down at first, but the reason for why was very interesting. He has a military background, then was working for the shifter agency ADSMA until a situation happened. Loved Erin calling it the BDSM agency. I thoroughly enjoyed this read and cannot wait to read the two sisters’ stories. I would have liked a bit more about the agency, and how they dealt with what happened to Nash, obviously Angelina had some serious sway there. This is my honest review of this book which I bought.
Erin wants nothing more than to finally earn her hot air balloon pilots license, but fate, destiny, or just plain bad luck seems to be conspiring against her. For Nash, quitting his job and landing a position as a member of the ground crew for a hot air balloon company in Sedona is just the break a dragon shifter needs after ending his career with a top-secret government agency. But fate, or destiny is laughing at him and has other ideas. Not only is the pretty ground crew boss, Erin, his fated mate and she hates dragon shifters, but the beautiful and seductive vampiress responsible for his early retirement has suddenly appeared in Sedona. Worse, she has teamed up with the powerful, unscrupulous warlock trying to force Erin and her sisters to sell him the land that has been owned by her family for generation and rumored to have a powerful magical vortex somewhere on the property. Erin won't sell and the warlock will use deadly force to get what he wants. The characters are wonderfully well written with fascinating and quirky personalities as well as some magical abilities that they have yet to explore or even acknowledge, convinced they have no supernatural abilities despite their family history. Some exciting action, suspense, magic, shifters, and a steamy happily ever after are all in this paranormal romance and I will highly recommend this book to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
This was a captivating read, lots of action that I enjoyed every moment of this riveting read Erin is a wonderful character to read so very different from the usual female reads, she is full of surprises and I found myself totally enchanted by this wonderful character and I am sure that other readers will be as captivated as myself. She dreams and desires with every bone in her body the chance to be a pilot of a hot air balloon and she has to complete all of her necessary flying hours to acquire her licence, she is determined and will endeavour to do whatever it takes to do this. When she discoverers that both herself and sister are the owners of a ranch boundaries that the Warlocks require as well as the vampires, Nash an ex paranormal agent drawn to Sedona unfortunately why is something of a mystery? Then when he sets his sights on Erin and her sisters at the bar the mystery is solved, Nash begins to realise that since he came to Sedona his reasons have changed and this is because the attraction between them is special and unexpected and desired. This was an extremely exciting, action filled read that will hold your attention in full and leave you like myself looking forward to the next book in the series.
I had gotten the ebook, as well as the whisper sync audio book, so I could keep up with the story even when I was driving. I loved that I could do both, but the narrators were terrible. If I was rating the audio book alone, that would be 1 star for the narrators. Mispronunciation of words, no emotional connection in tense or loving situations. To me, they were AI (artificial intelligence) narrators, and they were just reading the story in monotone. But, the story was good. When I was just reading the ebook, it was so much better without the audio. Great world building, and I Erin and Nash were a good fit for each other. Nash came to Sedona as if drawn to something, or someone. Erin just wants to able to be a balloon pilot, and is having trouble getting that last hour in the air she needs. Adding in a bad guy (Harlon the sorcerer) wanting to purchase the land Erin and her sister’s family had lived on and protected for generations caused everyone to band together. Oh, and can’t forget the vampire who Nash worked with who had ensnared him back when they used to work together, teamed up with Harlon and still wants to control Nash to keep him. I will definitely read the sisters Pippa and Abby’s stories without the whisper sync audio.
I had been missing Anna Lowe's intriguing and magical stories of dragons and the women who conquer them. The exciting narrations and descriptions of the balloon adventure fascinated me. I felt like I could feel the emotion of the protagonists as I read on. Nash's vulnerability and how incredibly capable Erin was, had me closely following their thoughts and actions. One of those relationships where you don't start off on the right foot, but you persevere and succeed. I love heroines full of mysteries and secrets and in this story, Erin had the upper hand. I liked the tender scenes, the different personalities of the sisters and how they complemented each other. There were also humorous moments with unexpected comments and characters that made me chuckle. Needless to say, the villains were tenacious and very evil where magic was their greatest ally. The sisters and Nash found themselves in a fight where they faced their enemies despite the doubts and fears that had been holding them back. The action was not long in coming with excitement, suspense, intrigue, romance, and a mystery that is yet to be discovered. Enjoyed this story so much.
Ms. Lowe has never failed me. She writes stories that fill you with rapture from dramatic scenes, solving mysteries to the passion of falling in love.
She takes you on that journey in a small town called Sedona. It's a magical town where Erin and her sisters live on the ranch that their Aunt entrusted to them. Erin just wants to get a final balloon pilot assistant so she can then be an official pilot. It is here that she meets Nash.
Nash a dragon shifter who is burnt out and running from his demons. But you can never run away as they follow wherever you go. Wanting to save Erin from a mage he opens his mouth and inserts his foot. He is drawn to Erin his dragon says "mate"
Will Nash get his foot ou6t of his mouth long enough to save Erin, her sisters and niece? Will he accept what his dragon says as well as the love blossoming in his heart?
Will Erin achieve her career goal, keep her sister, niece and the ranch from, an evil mage? Grab a copy for yourself and discover the answers for yourself. I'm betting that you will be glad you did.
Erin lives in Sedona, Arizona on a ranch with her 2 sisters and a niece and all she wants to do is get her full pilot’s license to fly hot air balloons. Nash is a dragon shifter, looking for a remote area to work after being in the military and then working for a government agency that tracks the supernaturals and takes a job at the same company Erin works at. Attraction is almost immediate with the two and even though they fight it, we all know it’s a losing battle.
A warlock has decided he wants to buy Erin’s ranch because of the magical properties of the vortexes on the property and even begins to threaten Erin and her sisters because they won’t sell. There is plenty of danger, action and sizzling romance in this book and it’s a fantastic start to a new series. The descriptions of the land, of the balloon rides and of course of the dragons themselves kept me engrossed in the story and it was very hard to put this one down. Nash will need to prove himself, and Erin will come into her own. I can’t wait to move on to the next book.
What Erin wants more than anything in life than to be a pilot working in hot air balloon but she will need to complete her flying hours to get her license. It seems that her and her sisters own a ranch that has something on it that a Warlock wants desperately and pretty much lets her hear a phone conversation that puts her in the cross- hairs of the Warlock and a Vampire are determined to have. Nash is an ex-paranormal agent drawn to Sedona and he is not sure why until he sees Erin and her sisters at the bar and life changes in a way he wasn’t planning because he just wanted to do a little mindless work for a while and he gets a job at the balloon grown grew, they are attracted to each other and Nash finds that he wants a lot more that he came to Sedona for. A very entertaining paranormal romantic suspense, action adventure. I purchased is copy. I volunteered an honest review.
I needed something relatively light to read, and I really enjoyed this first story in a new paranormal shifter/magical series. Anna always does a fantastic job of writing dragon romances and fated mate attraction. Really liked the range of magical gifts between the sisters and the introduction to mysterious powerful vortexes that will hopefully continue to be explored in future books.
Fascinating introduction to the complications of running a tourist balloon tour business from the view of the Heroine as a Balloon Pilot and she is a great role model for other female aviators. Will be interested to see what Anna does with this couple long term regarding where they will live and their careers, and I can't wait for the developing magical gifts and romances for the other two sisters. The next book in the series will be on my Must Read List.
Erin lacks just one hour to gain her hot air balloon pilot’s license. She has two half sisters (same mom, different dads) . Both parents have magical abilities, but the girls do not. New guy Nash (mystery man) at the hot air balloon company is a shifter. He can see through their latest client Harlon who is a warlock and influencing those around him.
Customer Harlon is flying over her family property talking vortexes and planting altered memories in his guests when it is all over. Something is afoot. Investigation reveals Nash also sneaking around - who is the good guy and who is to be trusted.
Magical powers, bad guys, vampire safety clauses, destiny, and elemental influences. An entertaining mix of suspense, danger, intrigue and romance.
Really enjoy this author's writing! This is another entertaining read. Shifters and magic equal an interesting read for me! Such a fun idea to have lead female character Erin interested in piloting hot air balloons. Sweet, heartfelt romance with some good spice! Nice that dragon shifter Nash is there for some support towards Erin; although, they didn't exactly get off to the best start when they first met. Cool shifter world; enjoy the bit of small-town vibe to this shifter community too. Got that bit of danger and action too! Love a bit of danger! Looking forward to this series unfolding; Lowe's stories are such a comfort!
I was very excited when I learned that Anna Lowe was writing a new series and that the setting was in one of my favorites places - Sedona, Arizona. That’s the same area as her Wolves of Twin Moon Ranch series. If you haven’t read that series, it’s a must read. That series is just amazing. All of Anna Lowe’s books are vey well-written. Back to Wind Whisperer, Anna Lowe once again delivers an amazing paranormal romance suspense with just enough of everything. Spice, action, romance and great characters (those you love and those you don’t love at all). The story ends on a happy note but leaves you eagerly awaiting to read the next book.
I love Erin. She’s nobody’s fool with a “complicated” family and the heart of a protector. Now she’s worried & in trouble she’s not sure she can handle. And that’s not even counting the new guy at work she’s attracted to but doesn’t trust. Find out if Erin has more going for her than she knew, or if she lets down the loved ones that count on her.
And what’s the story with that shifter from work?
I received a free copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Erin is just one hour shy of getting her pilot's license to fly hot air balloons. This has been a dream of hers for along time. Just one more hour...
Nash had been drawn to Sedona and isn't quiet sure what's calling to him. He gets a job and managed to stick his foot in his mouth with his boss before they even meet.
Without spoiling anything, if you like Vampires, Warlocks and Shifters with some magic thrown in, then you are going to enjoy this book. I can't wait for the rest of the series!
This is one of the best stories I’ve read in the last year. The character development is very well done. Erin and Nash make a great couple even if it takes a long time for the two of them to realize it. The expected enemies to lovers plot is nicely integrated with a pair of villains, a lot of twists of destiny, and Erin’s really twisted family tree. I’ve been to Sedona multiple times and story captures the feel of the town and the surrounding countryside. I’m looking forward to reading the the next book in the series.
This author is one of my favorite authors. She always keeps me on my seat with the stories she tells and this book is no exception. Ones life is never a simple situation in her books, the twists and turns along with the excitement of danger and risk right around every corner kept me on the edge of my seat. Dragons, Warlocks, Vampires, Oh My..... romance and all the paranormal mischief along the way blends into a great read.
What I like about this author is her books are a good mix of romance and danger, not too much, so they're easy to read and enjoy. This is a new series, introducing a group of sisters that appears will all have their own ability.
This book is about Nash, the new guy in town and Erin who has an affinity with wind. It's set in the same story universe as Lowe's wolf shifters.
And she’s out with a new series and I’m thrilled! It has everything we love about this author! Erin just wants that final hour in the balloon and he’s going to start a new job but first just hang out there night before. Neither expects what they get when they meet. She again also finds it there’s more to herself then she thought. Add bad guys and heat and you have a great read!
Erin is training to become a hot air pilot and just wants to finish the experience so she can be licensed. Nash is running from his past. The two have serious trouble coming and how they handle it will be the answer to whether they survive. Anna Lowe has done it again with a story that will keep you glued to your book. I received this as an ARC. This is my honest review.
EXCITING START TO ANOTHER FABULOUS SERIES. Anna Lowe certainly knows how to bring out the empathy in the reader and make these sisters our friends, the enemies our foe and the idiots needing a good bring down (there is always one isn't there!). Recommended paramormal stories with strong independent women.
I love this author's books and was so happy to see this one as her books never disappoint. She runs a ranch, a balloon business and has so many paranormal and magical people around it is never dull. That includes her own family. Lots of excitement, twists and turns, surprises and so much more. Keeps you reading and I highly recommend it. I received a review copy and voluntarily review it.
Wonderful story filled with ups and downs for both of the mail characters. I liked the weaving of skills and love between the sisters and the addition of Nash. I love Claire and her zoo. The villains we well written and deserved every thing they received in the end.
This book made me feel as if I dropped into different world that I can’t wait to explore more. I love the relationship between Erin and her sisters and the variety of interesting characters. It doesn’t hurt that the romance is steamy. I read it in one sitting and can’t wait to dive into book 2. This promises to be a great series.
Loved this book ,it’s different from the usual werewolf books and an amazing read.It tells the story of Nash a dragon shifter and Erin who has magic in her blood,it has love and laughter throughout with a bit of danger and has you hooked from the very beginning.
What a great start to series from this author. Like most of the work from this author it has a lot of drama action few twists and romance with just the right amount of heat. I’m looking forward to the next book . I volunteer to review a copy of this book for my honest opinion.
Just what you would expect from this author, sexy shifters, unknown powers, danger and romance. Though Erin and Nash start out on the wrong foot, they end up being a great couple. This story has a vampire and a warlock which adds extra oomph to the story.
I missed this lady’s writing Anna is an absolutely Genius. The visionary she gives you of Sedona in this book is a magnificent. Now add that with 3 sisters, a farm owned for many generation and a Dragon become a phenomenal read! Yep it’s a must read
Good story, it has love , excitement, danger and happiness, I was gripped with the attack on the ranch, and so pleased with the outcome. Can't wait to read pippa's story. I'm assuming there will be a 3rd book for their other sister?
