Rate this book
The first step is admitting you have an intergalactic problem

It’s 2036, and the heroes of the War Of Isolation find themselves splintered. Against Ranbir’s wishes, Malik and Alexis set out across the galaxy on a three-hundred-year journey to the Praxi-birthing planet Vocury hoping for a peaceful second attempt at first contact. The diplomatic mission quickly devolves into chaos as the explorers discover life on Vocury, but it’s not who they’re expecting.

Two years after their friends have left them behind, Maya tempts Ranbir with one final mysterious mission of their own. With little to go on, Ranbir is forced to navigate through dangerous hijinks and hijacks as Maya leads him across the cosmos while keeping the details of their deployment to herself. Maya is hiding something, and it’s a secret big enough to undo everything they’ve fought for.

Violence, addiction, war, and mystery await both pairings even as they’re separated by space and time. The future of mankind again rests in the hands of a group of misfits, and without each other to lean on, they’ve never been more ill-equipped to deal with what’s coming.

If you haven't started this series yet, I dont know what to tell you. This is such a seriously under-hyped sci-fi thriller. I wasn't sure that the sequel could carry the weight, emotions and atmosphere that the first book gave us but man...blow me away. There were so many times I had to put my kindle down and be like dang...that was clever, or sob like a baby. this has a spaghetti western almost theme, the author is genre bending/mixing like no other and I cant seem to wrap my head around where to place this but man it was so delightful and good!

If you have any interest in to getting into sci-fi but love edge of your seat thrillers, start with Book 1 Isolating Contact and then grab this one when it comes out. You will not be disappointed!

Thank you to the author for the advanced copy to review and give my honest opinion on!

Well, this book ended up being something completely unexpected. Not that I knew what to expect, as I didn’t read the synopsis, I just knew I wanted to read this book, as I loved book one of this series. And unexpected or not, this book was good.

What I love about this series is that it’s sci-fi (which I love) but it’s not too technical and it really delves deep into the human psyche, showcasing the thoughts and emotions of all the characters involved. And this book had almost a time travel element to it, though it didn’t have time travel in it, making me have to think hard to wrap my mind about what had happened to get the characters to where they were.

This is a great second book in the series, and I’m really looking forward to reading book three!

I received an advance reader copy from the author, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I absolutely loved this book! In fact, I would say it's even better than the first in the series. This story has truly changed my perspective on reading sci-fi. I found the characters captivating, especially with the introduction of some new ones. I read it in one sitting, as it feels like you might miss out on something if you take a break. The characters do branch out to explore if they can fit in elsewhere. With multiple points of view and plenty of twists, this book is fantastic! That ending was something else! I highly recommend you give it a read!

Just like the first book in this series, this book was a step outside my usual genre. I’m not really big on sci-fi thrillers but thanks to Ash Remington, I’ve been able to branch out.

Alexis, Maya, Malik and Ranbir are together again in hopes of reaching Vocury to finish what they started in book 1. Everyone seems onboard except for Ranbir who has lost his spark for life without the love of his life. Things get a little crazy once Alexis and Malik discover there’s life already on the planet. Among those already settled in Vocury is a doctor with ill intentions towards the Praxi kids who will go to any length to get what it is that he wants. It’s a race against time for the group to stop the doctor, savage all supplies, save the Praxi kids and leave the planet before it’s too late.

Thank you to Ash Remington for the advanced reader copy! Your work is INCREDIBLE! 💜

This book was amazing!!!! All the new characters and the way she did MULTIPLE POVs was wonderful and just how she did multiple times too. Literally was well written and amazing storyline!!!! There were so many hints that you finally put two and two together until later. And wow just wow. I cannot wait til the next one. But this is basically an amazing series. Not only do you need to read this one but the first one as well. This group of friends who found their group in the first book from trying to survive and save the world from craziness and ended up having a Praxi sacrifice himself along with Emilia. They ended up having different opinions on things but in the end THEY ARE ALL TOGETHER still. And now after their crazy adventure in this book they get to have another one. Hope that doesn’t spoil too much about it but WOW!!!! I am blown away. This is literally had my emotions all over the place. I have cried and laughed and been sad and understood these characters in a way I never knew I could connect to fictional characters. Again Malik will always be my favorite but I also LOVEEE Marcus because well that’s my husband name but also to see where he came from and what he went through to becoming who he is. Just amazing!!! Alexis of course always doing the best for her friends and others. Chop stubborn as always but best person to take care of Maya. Tess doing what Tess does with her doctor stuff. And just literally loving all that comes together with all this. Space traveling and living multiple lifetimes. Seriously love this series!!!! Hyping it up as much as I can. ♥️♥️♥️

“Every step closer to her made the clouds above grow smaller” -Chop

“Gods not done with him yet, or else he’d be here. The same goes for you” -Lydia

“I’m not saying it’s aliens, but it’s aliens,” I mimicked along with the animation.”

A high octane, action packed, character driven, great world building, unique storyline, with dizzy twists and unexpected turns of events makes this series a thrilling experience. Exciting, heart pounding revelations, intriguing backstories, with unpredictable endings.

“It's often said that those who have nothing left to lose are the most dangerous.”
The storyline is a fast paced, relentless adventure with strong survival instincts.

“We cover every square inch of land and then kill each other over who gets to own it.”..
I found this series very entertaining and enjoyable, but the moral issues of the story caused a significant impact, causing many times to pause and think about the philosophical connotations, the profound emotional impact on human psyche, the desire of greatness, of triumph, of domination, control, power, greed, our lowest self.
“Mankind spreads like locusts, consuming and destroying everything in our path as our numbers grow.”

Incredibly suspenseful, gripping and captivating plot twists.
Complex, real life faulty characters.
“..humans often act in extremes. Their love yearns harder. Their hate burns hotter. Their need for acceptance, revenge, and justice is incomparable.”

It’s an engrossing and addictive story, with a rollercoaster of emotions.
“They make snap decisions in the moment based entirely on emotion,..”
Raw and edgy narrative, the basic human instincts are in full swing, with never a moment of respite. I really like the way the plot explores the human condition, the harsh reality of the characters’ surroundings and struggles, both physical and emotional.

I highly recommend reading Isolating Contact #1 first.
It is a fantastic 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ adventure.

I am so impatient to read Vengeful Contact #3! I hope it releases soon.

"Addictive Contact" is a fast paced, engaging read that I didn't want to put down! (This was difficult because I was following the read along. Btw I enjoyed it very much.) Just like the title this book had me addicted to it. :D

The blend of humor, emotion, and suspense makes for a dynamic and captivating story. The plot is well crafted, with twists that keep you on the edge of your seat. I especially loved how the author balanced light hearted moments with intense, emotional scenes, creating a compelling narrative.

Alexis’s point of view was my favorite, her character was relatable, and her emotional journey really stood out. The vivid scene descriptions make you feel fully immersed in the world, pulling you into every moment.

I can’t wait to see what happens next!!!!! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE just give me book 3!!!! 🥹

Addictive Contact is the second sci-di book in The Contract series. Picking up where the last book left off, it’s 2036 and the heroes from the War of Isolation are starting to separate. They all have different missions and goals in mind for the future. Taking on their own missions have Malik and Alexis setting off for a three hundred year journey and Maya and Ranbir staying behind. They eventually set off on a mission of their own and will eventually reconnect, but not without years of struggle and secrets, especially in Maya’s part. Will the group be able to rejoin each other in order to save the world once again?

I am not a sci-fi fan in the slightest, but gave the last book a try because it sounded interesting and I’m trying to branch out. From the first chapters I fell in love with the characters and knew I needed to continue this series. This book did the same thing and pulled me in right away because I was rejoining the characters that hooked me from the beginning. This is such a character driven story and the world building was amazing. The thrill and mystery behind some of this story kept me engrossed in this read. I am still no a huge sci-if fan, but I really did enjoy this book and look forward to seeing if anything comes for the characters in the future. The time jumps in this book did mess with me a little at the beginning, but I was able to catch on by the end. I can’t judge this from a sic-fi fan perspective, but from my end I really enjoyed this book and recommend it if you like character driven stories!

This book struck a deeper chord with me than the first, perhaps because, as a mother, the themes resonate more profoundly given the current state of the world. The emotional weight of the ending is truly brutal, and the last two chapters lingered with me long after I finished reading.

The author masterfully weaves a narrative that challenges our perceptions of love, sacrifice, and the resilience of the human spirit, making it all the more impactful. These novels are Sci-Fi masterpieces, unlike anything I’ve encountered before, exploring the lengths humans will go to for survival and for one another. The character development is exceptional, drawing readers into their struggles and triumphs, and making us reflect on our own values and choices.

For anyone curious about space travel or willing to give science fiction a try, I wholeheartedly recommend diving into this series. Even if you typically prefer fantasy, the world-building here is accessible and relatable, avoiding heavy jargon that can deter new readers. The storytelling balances the intricacies of the universe with relatable human emotions, making it easy to connect with the characters and their journeys. The narrative focuses on human development amidst decline and rebuilding, all infused with a glimmer of hope. It emphasizes resilience, the strength of community, and the power of love in the face of adversity.

For all the alien aficionados and Sci-Fi lovers out there, this series is a gem you won't want to miss—there's something uniquely captivating about its exploration of the unknown that makes it a must-read. If you’re ready for an emotional yet thrilling journey, start with Isolating Contact and then jump into Addictive Contact! Just be aware of potential triggers related to sensitive themes, but rest assured this is a series that invites you to reflect on humanity while taking you on an unforgettable adventure through the cosmos.

This book builds on the well-crafted foundation that was Isolating Contact, continuing the journey of the characters we came to know while also introducing some new additions who were interesting to say the least!

I once again have to give MEGA props to the author (like I did in my review for the first book) on the writing style within this book. The transformation of these complex scientific ideas into something insanely approachable is just... I have no words. This could easily be one of those sci-fi stories that goes over a lot of peoples heads (mine included) but it's not that. The writing is simple yet effective, making the story both accessible and engaging.

I'd say that to me, this book is a perfect balance of a character and plot focussed story. The character development is just as forefront as the fast-paced plot, which I appreciate because sometimes when it's more one way or the other, I can get bogged down by a story. The twists and turns of the plot kept the pacing dynamic and satisfying. Just like the last book, I enjoyed the multiple POVs as each character's perspective and opinions kept me on my toes in terms of trying to guess where the story was going. Also included alongside the multiple perspectives was time jumps, which could have been difficult to navigate but it was executed in a subtle and clever way that it didn't really feel like a time jump at all while still adding layers to the story.

All that being said, I found myself more drawn to Isolating Contact rather than this one. However, the setup in this book feels deliberate and I suspect it will all pay off in the next book in the series. I'm very excited to see what happens next!

Thank you to the author Ash Remington for letting me apart of the ARC team for this book!
I sincerely apologize it took me so long to start this... but sometimes life just gets in the way.

The gang is back for another adventure in the second book of the Contact series! 🙌

After absolutely loving Isolating Contact, I just had to read this one! It’s a great story, and I love the Gia and Rix characters! The ending had me in tears! 🥹

I did feel like it was slow in some parts and probably could have been a little shorter. But I still enjoyed it all the same! 🤓

Thank you to Ash Remington for the opportunity to read the eARC in exchange for my honest review! ❤️

This is a story filled to the brim with character development, cultural diversity, and a space travelling adventure. Book 1, Isolating Contact, introduces us to the large main character base in this series and lays the foundation for where everything goes. But this book really takes the reins in creating an emotional tie to everyone. There are some really difficult themes in this book that could be triggering for some (I will list a few at the end), but they are profoundly necessary for the situations the characters are in and where everything is converging to.

Science Fiction is defined as: fiction based on imagined future scientific or technological advances and major social or environmental changes, frequently portraying space or time travel and life on other planets.

Addictive Contact encompasses every single one of these elements as the characters voyage into space in hopes of colonizing a planet, saving their species for de-evolution, and solving the mysteries of the alien species they met in the first book. But there are so sacrifices in these kinds of missions and this story is no exception. From a mother having to separate from her child in hopes of doing something to save them all, to a war-hardened soldier suffering from addiction, to personal choices of sacrifice for the good of others and the pain that might bring.

Our crew has travelled hundreds of years, overcome many obstacles and found themselves faced with a failing society addicted to the idea of immortality and self management.

The central theme of this book, for me anyways, is about asking yourself what would you be willing to sacrifice or overcome to help others? Because the sacrifices needed are monumental and life changing, but there is a light at the end of this road and the last two chapters hit me hard as a reader. I cried all the way through them and still feel that emotion just thinking back through it all.

If you love science fiction, or are at least open to a book about travelling through space, then I highly recommend you grab this book right now. If you've never read science fiction but you enjoy fantasy and world building, this might be up your alley as well because it's not a heavy science fiction novel that will leave you feeling overwhelmed. Some science fiction can be laden with terms and references that are "alien" and leave some readers feeling uncomfortable, but this is a very straight forward work that focuses on human development processes. As a civilization declines, hits rock bottom and starts to build back up.

Are you ready to travel with me? Start with Isolating Contact and then read Addictive Contact NOW!

This is Book 2 in The Contact Series, and once again, Ash is back with another great story.

This time, Maya and the others are back and with another mysterious adventure awaiting them!

The story itself is incredibly intriguing, and I enjoyed the changing POVs as the reader is privy to the entire story and situations of all - it really added to the story.

Ash deals with some quite hard-hitting things in this one, which opens up philosophical debates on ethics and morality of the human race. It's very deep and definitely makes you think and question yourself.

Ash has a very unique writing style as everything that is written about has a reason for being written, and so there's nothing pointless there.

There is so much to this book that I was to discuss here but can't as I don't like to reveal spoilers!

If you enjoy science fiction or fancy a change of genre scenery then this book is absolutely for you and with 2 more books in the pipeline, I can't wait to see where Ash takes us next in this rollercoaster ride!

Wow! That ending!
Really liked that it was multiple povs. It was some twists, that I didn’t see coming.
This story continues a few years after the first book ended.

The heroes of the war of isolation, Maya, Ranbir, Alexis and Malik, find themselves splintered. Against Ranbir’s wishes, Alexis and Malik set their way across the galaxy to the planet Vocury for a second attempt at first contact with the praxis. The mission became chaos after finding out life on Vocury.
Two years after their friends left them behind, Maya is trying to get Ranbir on a mission on their own.

I enjoyed reading this story and to continue the adventure of the characters. Based on how the book ended, I can imagine what the next book will be about!

With this being the second book in the Contact series, I already had some background on the characters and the authors writing style, which means I was emerged into the story from the start!
The attention to detail on the world which has been created for this sci-fi adventure is amazing. The character development is rich, but doesn’t drag on or share unnecessary details to slow the plot. I can say I honestly enjoyed this second book even more than the first, possibly cause we already had the main foundation of the story/world/characters so the plot seemed to be a little faster, which I prefer.
I would recommend this book not only to sci-fans, but also action/adventure or someone who prefers unique stories with character-driven plots.
I rarely give 5⭐️ reviews, and would have given a 4.5 if it was an option!

I didn't think it was possible that I would love the 2nd book even more than the first but here we are. Ash is such a talented author from characters to world building, he leaves nothing lacking. My wish is for everybody to read these books! This is the 2nd in the series and cannot be read as a standalone so if you are looking for your next read check out Isolating Contact and then read this one, you will not be dissapointed!!

Honestly, this series is seriously underrated. I want to scream from the rooftops that this sci-fi thriller is worth every moment!

A breathtaking continuation of a story that refuses to let go.

This novel expands upon the already intricate world, deepening the sci-fi elements while never losing sight of the human heart at its core. The stakes are higher, the conflicts more intense, and the relationships even more compelling. Remington doesn’t just tell a story—he immerses you in it, making every moment of pain, triumph, and passion feel real.

Addictive Contact solidifies this series as one of the most powerful and unforgettable sci-fi dystopian stories I’ve read. If Isolating Contact was the spark, then this book is the wildfire—burning bright, impossible to ignore, and utterly consuming. Ash Remington, I need more.

I received an ARC of this book and was not required to leave a review.

I’m not normally a sci-fi person but I love this series! The emotional roller coaster this put me through is great! I adore the characters in this series and love how we get to see each of their inner thoughts as the book goes on so you’re never left guessing much about what a character’s thinking in this moment. Definitely recommend both books in this series as it’s definitely a thrill ride.

The journey continues for Chop, Alexis, Maya, Malik, & Tess with some new characters too. Addictive Contact continues to provide the same level of detail as book one but with a different feel. Book 1 had me laughing while this one had me feeling all the feels; anger, sadness, shock. Spoiler alert: this book ends on a cliff hanger and I'm super curious to see what happens to this crew in book 3.

A while ago Ash contacted me and asked if be interested in ARC reading their new book coming out, having never been asked before I was so excited. So I got caught up with the first book, sci-fi wasn't my typical genre. But wow I loved the first book Isolating Contact. I didn't know how the second one would play out and I was worried I wouldn't enjoy it as much 😂😂

I was wrong!

Addictive Contact...what a book. I'm trying so hard not to blurt everything out.

We follow our little group after the aftermath of the last book. While the group splits in half and they go their separate ways each looking for somewhere to fit in while some want to settle down, others are off to the stars on a 300 year journey. Will they ever see each other again? Will it go to plan? This book takes us on a rollercoaster, just when you think you've got it sussed and you know what's going to happen next, bam, left hand corkscrew in the opposite direction. It's a rollercoaster ride I did not want to get off! Ash has such an amazing writing style, there are no filler chapters, there are no pointless bits of dialogue to get from one scene to the next. You can't put this down because you feel like of you do you'll miss something.

There are so many important issues that are addressed in this book and I'm here for each of them. Without Malik and Tes around Maya comes apart at the seams. After his loss Ranbir becomes passionate and will do anything to protect his friends. Alexis...well that girl is just 👌 on fire, she knows what she wants an she will get it. We meet new characters like, Dr Amaar, Maddox and Kane, will the help our heroes or hinder them?

Multi POV along multi time lines, my heads in a spin but the rush of this book is amazing, totally Addictive!

Congratulations Ash, you've done it again. I cannot wait for book 3!

Ash Remington's Addictive Contact is an absolute tour de force that delivers an exhilarating blend of action, mystery, and raw emotion. From the very first page, this interstellar epic had me hooked, refusing to let go until the final, breathtaking twist.

Set in the aftermath of the War of Isolation, the story masterfully intertwines two distinct yet equally compelling narratives. Malik and Alexis’s journey to Vocury is fraught with suspense, as their quest for a peaceful alliance spirals into chaos. The vivid descriptions of alien landscapes and unexpected inhabitants are so immersive, you’ll feel like you’re traveling across galaxies alongside them.

Meanwhile, Ranbir and Maya’s storyline offers a perfect counterbalance, steeped in intrigue and shadowy secrets. Maya's hidden motives and Ranbir’s reluctant bravery add a layer of complexity that keeps the reader guessing. The stakes are personal and universal, and the tension between these characters is as gripping as the cosmic threats they face.

Remington doesn’t shy away from exploring heavier themes like addiction, violence, and the cost of war. Yet, the narrative is infused with humor, heart, and hope, making it a deeply human story despite its extraterrestrial setting. The pacing is relentless, the dialogue is sharp, and the character development is top-notch.

Addictive Contact is a must-read for fans of thought-provoking science fiction with high-stakes adventure and emotionally resonant characters. Ash Remington has crafted a masterpiece that will stay with you long after the final page. Highly recommended!

3.5/5 ⭐️
Argh, I’ve pondered on this book review for a few weeks. Coming off the first book which I literally chewed down in 3 hours from the moment I received the arc I was extremely excited to do similar for the second book.
I absolutely love the storyline I feel that the biggest thing that made it so hard to get grossly involved in this second book was the back and forth in time plus the multiple POV’s. It literally has taken me about 4 weeks to read. I just feel there are so many parts and unlike the first book I felt like the pov’s really made it hard to keep up with what was going on at different times in the story. I still absolutely encourage you to read the book however read it quite close to the first and also take your time as I feel that I got lost a couple times and had to double back. Otherwise the character quality and story itself was fascinating and well written and had me quite hooked just felt a bit disjointed after the first book of the series. @ashremingtonbooks

Rarely do I rate a second book in a series more highly than the first, but "Addictive Contact" is an exception. This fast-paced, well-plotted novel expands the world introduced in "Isolating Contact." The characters, both familiar and new, are well-developed and relatable. Through multiple points of view, we experience the heights and depths of human and non-human emotions set against the interstellar backdrop of space and an inhospitable alien world. Though some of their challenges are potentially triggering, the story is an authentic exploration of the meaning of love, sacrifice, survival, and the consequences of our choices. If you’re looking for an engaging read, I highly recommend this series and look forward to the next installment.

Ash Remington has absolutely nailed it with "Addictive Contact"! This action-packed sequel has totally raised the bar, breaking through so many traps that other contemporary authors fall into. I’ve never read a series quite like this one, and I mean that in the best way possible. The plot is super complex, and the characters are so intriguing that you can’t help but be pulled into their world. Even if sci-fi isn’t usually your thing, you’ll still find this multi-POV story captivating. With timelines that crisscross, epic battles, and secrets being revealed left and right, you won’t be able to put this book down. I’m already counting down the days until book 3!

I loved this sequel. Ash builds upon her world and characters from the first book and leaves you needing more. The author's writing style is further solidified through this story and it is very well-written. I definitely recommend this book for sci-fi readers and those looking for a deep story to get lost in. Excitedly awaiting the next installment!!!
