Tasked with uncovering what the Bratva is plotting in the city, one day Elian sees something that wasn’t part of the plan. But when she overhears the senator she’s working for is in bed with the Russian mafia, her world is turned upside down. The next thing she knows, she’s running for her life, and the only person who can help her is the mysterious stranger who saved her from certain death.
With the Russians closing in and the senator’s dark secrets threatening to unravel, Elizabeth turns to Elian for protection. As they delve deeper into the conspiracy, the stakes grow higher—and so does the heat between them. But with danger lurking at every turn as Elizabeth tries to bring a powerful man to justice, the only way to survive is to stay one step ahead… or risk losing everything…

I completely fell in love with Elian in Renzo and Lore’s book ……. I was super excited when I heard this was going to be released
Elian is tasked with uncovering what the Bratva is plotting in the city, since they have been moving slowly but surely in
Elizabeth has been working Politics for some time……… the hardest part of her job. Is running a campaign for a man she really didn’t personally even respect, let alone like. Michael Westmoore was the very definition of a slimy politician…… To make matters worse she overhears something that she shouldn’t one late night and ever since then her life was turned upside down…..Lucky for Elizabeth that Elian was in the right place at the right time to save her from Bratva trying to kill her
This was a fun sweet somewhat edge of your seat romance with an upcoming mafia capo and goody two shoes, They were one interesting mix To say the least
Another fantastic read in the Lombardis Mafia series. Loved Elian in Renzo and Lore book so this was a great surprise. Lots of suspense with the Russian Mafia and a crooked politician. Of course, Elian and Elizabeth romance was perfect too..
Finally, we have our sweet Elain. Man, there is just something about the Lombardi's that have me in a choke hold.
Elain, we knew from Renzo's story is the protective one. The one who's honest and straightforward but sweet. So it came as no surprise that when he fell, he would fall hard, and obviously, it wasn't going to be smooth sailing. Nothing with these mafia men ever is.
Campaign manager Elizabeth wasn't stupid enough to believe a politician would be clean cut. She did not expect to become a target of the Russian mafia, though. Poor woman got caught up in the diabolical world of twisted politicians, and it left her with a target on her forehead. She could not catch a break.
Now, I don't wish for people to be on the hitlist, but if not for that, Elain and Elizabeth's paths would not have collided. What a shame that would be.
They had me in all my feels. Elain steps in and saves the day, and from that moment, becomes her protector. The chemistry is just perfect. The build and tension is delicious. The way they grew... honestly, I just loved them. When you add in the side characters and the neverending crazy that comes with these mafia men and their families... it was the perfect concoction of action, suspense, and romance with all the feels.
Jessie never fails. The Lombardis may just be my favourite, but there are some characters I'm keeping my eye on in the future that Jessie has teased us with. All the exciting possibilities. All in all another winner!!!.
I seriously think this is my favorite Lombardi Family book (so far) The perfect fit of Elizabeth and Elian, just swooning over them!! I can’t even gather my thoughts!!
I love mafia romances and I love Jessica Gadziala's stories. Her mafia romances are not so much about the mafia world as about the people who represent the families.
This book is about Elian and his girl Elizabeth. Ones again an action-packed, gripping and dramatic story. A story that started relatively harmlos and escalated to a fight for survival.
I liked Elian in the first 2 books in the series. He's the calm, smart and level-headed member of the family. He's the voice of reason for his boss and he's not afraid to talk about everything. No secrets, no matter what happened.
Elizabeth is the nerdy and to her job dedicated type of woman. She doesn't have friends, she has coworkers. She doesn't have a boyfriend, she has her very time-consuming job. Until her very demanding job becomes a very dramatic problem.
I love this beautiful romantic, gripping and action-packed story. Definitely a must-read for all mafia romance lovers.
Seek Him Like Shelter is the third book in the Lombardi Family series by Jessica Gadziala. Each of these books can be read as a standalone, but I personally always like to read them in order so I know the characters a little better and am more familiar with who everyone is.
Elian is a great guy! He’s a made man in the mafia secretly watching the Bratva to see what they’re up to. It’s while he’s observing the Russians that he sees them attempt to kill a beautiful woman. Elian immediately reacts and saves Elizabeth’s life.
Elizabeth is a gorgeous campaign manager working to reelect a senator that she learns is dirty. In an effort to do the right thing, she finds herself in danger and leans on Elian for help.
Elian and Elizabeth are super sweet together. Their relationship moves a little quickly, but they were attracted to each other from the beginning so it progressed smoothly.
I enjoyed catching up with some of the earlier characters as well as meeting new ones. Islah is Elian’s sister who is shy and quiet, and I’m looking forward to her story; although I think I’m more excited for either Serano’s or Rico’s books since they both are adamant they’re not looking for love.
Another good book by Jessica with a nice happy ending.
I loved this so much. The main couple was so great, I loved that there was no miscommunication or 3rd act breakup. This had major found family vibes and the side characters helped make this story even better. That epilogue had me in happy tears. Loved everything. Can't wait for the next story.
This book is a classic JG book. Organized crime, badass heroes and heroines, lovable and humorous casts of characters, some adopted strays (both human and animal), lots of laughter, plenty of heat, and even more love.
I give high praise to every JG book bc not only is she a good writer (and thankfully for my reading habits, prolific, too) but she writes the books I want to read but couldn’t bc I hadn’t written them. She is my fav romance author.
Even then, the ending scene and lines of the epilogue in this book had me kicking my legs and giggling in giddy delight because that was the best ending and also one of the funniest I think I’ve ever seen.
Also, speaking of strays, we get to read about Serano next, right? I love my strays getting their happily ever afters.
Mood readers : If you want a competent, kill-when-necessary but otherwise chill-alpha, this book is for you! The relationship between the MMC and FMC is low-angst, they get along right from the get-go; but she has Russian assassins after her, and he's Italian mafia. There's an active plot regarding keeping her safe and manuevering his Family in position against the Bratva at the same time.
FMC: Campaign strategist for corrupt politician, migraine-disabled, trying to get evidence against her boss The Senator, who is in cahoots with sex-trafficking Bratva, so the Bratva is trying to kill her.
MMC : Easy-going alpha from Italian-American New York Mafia, accidentally saves the FMC during attempted murder by Russians.
Plot: action-heavy, while at the same time, the two main characters grow to like, lust, love, trust each other with relative ease.

Honestly... I've read the first 2 books and Of Snakes And Men. This book... fell so flat for me unfortunately. Were there aspects that I enjoyed and obviously enjoyed enough to finish? Absolutely. It just felt like... Elain was more of a friend and once they had sex for the first time, I was absolutely shocked. It felt like a reach for them to get to that point so quickly. A lot of people really liked this book.
I liked how the FMC wasn't a brat but wasn't a pushover. She seemed normal which I've found is a rarity in mafia romances.
This felt like more of a friends who have sex contemporary novel with a scene or 2 with blood/violence. 🙈 But I'm just not into that type of thing. If you are, this is a great book for you. It had a lot of action in it. I'll give it that...
We first met Elian in Renzos book and fell in love with him then. We knew he was a good guy but didn't know much about him. His story was perfect! Him finding unexpected love and being the right person for Elizabeth. Their story is all over the place with drama and excitement but it shows how great she is for him. I adore this couple and enjoyed seeing the girls form a book club.
I love gadziala’s writing and she’s always a guaranteed read for me. This one while still good, didn’t connect for me. I loved the action, but I didn’t feel a connection between the main characters, it felt a little too quick maybe or maybe I just need a bit more of them together. Still an enjoyable read overall though and the storyline was intriguing.
The MFC is a high level political consultant working for a corrupt politician. I think health issues always add to the reality of the characters so her chronic migraines were a nice part of her character development.
Serano, Saff, Islah, and Cinna were a lot of fun. I totally enjoyed the scene where one of the bad guys gets killed in their apartment,
“Okay,” she said, walking over to me. “How about you stop staring at the corpse?” she asked, reaching for me and forcibly turning me away.
“I covered him with a jacket,” Serano insisted.
“Yeah. He’s totally invisible now,” Saff drawled.
It's always fun when an author incorporates what the reader is actually doing into the story - reading smutty romance,
“I mean, if they’ve been alive for three hundred years, hopefully they’ve learned how to lay some pipe, right, Elian?” she asked, making me turn to see him frozen in the living room, brows raised.
“I’m… early,” he decided, starting to slow walk backward.
I might appreciate a few more romances about the attentive, fumbling years for the three hundred year old vampire but I certainly appreciate the later stories too, and the shock when guys realize just how delightfully graphic this genre is.
★★★. I didn’t feel the connection between Elian and Elizabeth. I was waiting for a moment to feel something yet even their sex scenes were bland? I was expecting way more especially from Elian when he was such a protective man to Lore. He was protective there was no doubt about that, but I wanted more. Elizabeth I liked? I felt bad for her because truly she was just at work late at night. I didn’t understand her still wanting to get the Senator caught when she found out the mafia was involved, but oh well.
The resolution with the Bratva….i did not like. I’m mad we only got the ending for Elian and Elizabeth but nobody else? I know Lore and Renzo popped out 50 kids so where are they?
lorerenzo and davcinna will never be beat I fear. HOWEVER, Lore’s siblings got books, so let me see what those are about.
For my safety people; safe. Elian has been celibate for some time. Elizabeth same. Both just busy with work.
I was excited for Elian’s book after him being so kind to Lore in book one.
This one had some light instalove, and plenty of danger and near death experiences for the heroine, Elizabeth.
I was thankful they spent more time together than the couple in book one, but I still was just missing that feeling of connection and pull between them.
I felt that way with the first book, skipped the second, and tried this one, so maybe the style isn’t r my taste. 🤷🏻♀️ I am interested in Sereno’s book eventually since he’s so stoic and reserved!

This was another great mafia story from Jessica! Elian and Elisabeth made a great couple whose story begins when he saves her from a bullet by a the Bratva. He soon becomes a fixture in her life with many close calls!
Score Currently. Could.change due.to.the release.date and all of the current political.corruption on both sides and even in the middle.at this point; I shut my.tv.and read before bed to avoid the day's reality. Not.that this is non fiction. LOL. It was good! Just wonder if I read at a.different time.... I'd feel more or less Big fan of all of.Jessica's varied series. I don't think.I've come.across.one I've disliked. This one book.included. Don't misunderstand; it is definitely a Lombardi book through and through. A bit different but so.is that family. Characters are always different t in their own ways, which I find amazing after writing so.many books and has shown the strength in everyone,.that a.mental skill is just as likely relied upon and needed as violence. The bad guy self defense vigilante kind. I could use a another vigilante book. Theybcan do what others will not. Mercy v necessity Maybe write another or welcome suggestions while you're working on you next.hit!
This was more of a sweet love story than a mafia story. Yes, the FMC is being, essentially, hunted by the Bratva, and there are one or two intense scenes. But, overall, it’s more of a story of the MCs falling in love. Elian is more cinnamon roll than alpha, though his protectiveness has no bounds. Elizabeth is principled and determined. However, she suffers from migraines, which is an interesting element to include in a character. Neither MCs have suffered any great trauma, which is refreshing, (though we know that for some reason Elizabeth is estranged from her family).
I enjoyed this story, but probably not as much as the previous two books in this series. I also really enjoyed the epilogues that extend well into their children’s young adulthood. The book didn’t *need* the epilogue to feel complete, but it was very satisfying to see how the rest of their lives had played out.
Oof. It really hurts my heart to give this 3.5 stars, but I was quite unimpressed with this latest installation in the series. It made my day, possibly my weekend, to get the notification that a new book was out from my hands-down favorite Mafia series. Unfortunately, the plot was dull, the migraines were boring, and sweetheart Elian from the first book wasn’t as interesting or touching in his own story. I didn’t love Elizabeth’s character either, save for the moment she stood up for Saff. Hopefully the next one will be as good as all the rest. It was great to see Dav, Cinna, Renzo and the others again. Maybe less so on Lore. It was nice to get to know Rico a bit more!
After meeting Elian in Lore & Renzo's story, I couldn't wait to read his! I loved every second of this book and Elizabeth & Elian. There was Bratva, and crooked politicians, and attempted assassinations - OH MY! We knew that Elian is a good man but to see how good he truly is was an absolute delight. The way he cares for Elizabeth and understands her was wonderful. I can't wait to see what Jessica has in store for the rest of the Lombardi's!
When you read this just go along for the ride. Action Suspense, Love and Family. It's plenty of Mafia life as Mafia always is. It's still a good read. It's like this with me, if it's a Comedy, I'm set to laugh. If it's Suspense, I'm at the edge of my seat taking the ride NOT trying to figure "who did it." If it's Love, yeah, like these girls, I want Romance and Steam!! Enjoy the read...
Loved Elian’s calm, caring personality. And I yelled “yes” out loud when I got to this point in the story. “Suddenly, whatever had been keeping my feet glued to the ground let up, and I flew across the floor, reaching for Cinna’s gun. “No!” I screamed, making the man stiffen. Then turn. As my finger slid to the trigger. Aimed. Pulled.”
A great addition to JGs mafia books. I really enjoyed this one. It kept me turning the pages. I liked both the H, Elian, and h, Elizabeth. Really enjoyed the strength of Elizabeth as well as the respect Elian had for her. The storyline was interesting and a bit different than any other I have read.
