If you’re reading this, please help me. My name is Rachel, and I’ve been taken by two serial killers, Manson and Riley Kennedy. I’m at—
Whoopsie, enough of that. It’s Riley—said serial killer. That’s got a nice ring to it – serial killer. Don’t worry about Rachel. She’s safe. As long as Manson stays out of my fucking way.
What the fuck is this? Riley, you’re mine. Give me Rachel, and stop hiding from me.
Ready Or Not is a part of The Hunter's Club series. They are interconnected standalones. Certain characters will cross over, but you do not have to read them in any particular order. Ready Or Not is a dark romance thriller. It has extreme content matter. Please read responsibly.
I’m confused but like, I don’t know what I’m confused about lol. You know what, I really liked the story (+ it happens on Halloween). As messed up as it was lol. I’m not fond of the writing though. I feel like everything could’ve been more descriptive (?) like there were some moments with no transition. One moment, there were 3 people and in the next paragraph, only 2 with no mention of the 3rd person leaving. And to me, emotions and feelings weren’t described enough in the inner monologues 😅. Also how some things didn’t make sense. The one that I remember is when Manson trapped them in his so called very-impossible-to-escape house, and yet Riley escaped so easily that it was barely even described. One second she got free from her cuffs and the next, she was out of the house.
However, seeing my rating, the writing didn’t affect much my enjoying the story Ps: Loved the drawings !
Just please, check the TWs, that book is definitely not for everyone.
This book is the definition of Stockholm syndrome and I fear one miss Alina May managed to also give me it as well?? This was indeed my first FFM and LOVED IT and If there isn’t another book in this world don’t judge me for the riot I’ll wage.
My two favorite quotes: “So maybe I’m a little gay. Or maybe a lot gay. I’m not sure it even matters anymore.” “I’ve fallen for two serial killers. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
If Alina writes, you best believe I’m going to read it!
🖤Step Siblings 🖤Anti social personality disorder and autism representation 🖤Why Choose FFM
First of all, Wanna Play A Game is probably one of my favorite reads of all time! I’m adding this one right up there with it!! The Hunters Club is such a fantastic series, and I cannot wait for more!
What starts as Rachel searching for her best friend Cali (if you’ve read the first book you know) and honoring her by going to the corn maze she promised to attend with her. Rachel’s life is about to be changed forever, ever dreamed of being chased through a corn maze..yeah me too..so jealous Rachel!
Riley and Manson are a sociopath and psychopath duo you can’t help but love. Riley wants in the Hunters club and revenge for a traumatizing childhood at the same time. Manson just wants to own her and keep her safe. However, when you’re emotionless that makes communication fun. Riley has a list, and she intends to complete it with or without Mansons permission. She has easily become my favorite take no sh*t, bada** FMC!
Rachel is suffering from demons from her own past, maybe meeting this chaotic duo is exactly what she needs to actually start living, or maybe they’ll just kill her…
Thank you so much to Alina May for allowing me to read this pre-release in exchange for my honest review, this was my most anticipated read of the year and you did not disappoint!
Good lordtttttt. Alina does it again!! I did not want to put this book down. This is an FFM dark romance thriller, with a psychopath, a sociopath and a lil neurodivergent nugget who gets tossed in the middle. We have lady napping, captivity, revenge, flashbacks, 3 povs. I absolutely adored all 3 characters. Manson is Riley’s step brother and he’s been obsessed with her forever. He’s a serial unaliver, and she wants to be a serial unaliver like him but she’s so impulsive where he’s extremely calculated. Riley sees Rachel at a corn maze one night and immediately wants her (and takes what she wants). Manson has been trying to break through Riley’s walls and get her to love him, in all the wrong ways, for years. Enter Rachel. She may just be exactly what they need. This book was hot, emotional, suspenseful, funny, and kept me so engaged. I highly recommend if you’re a dark romance lover!
Have you ever imagined how a love triangle between a psychopath, a sociopath and an insecure girl with ADHD would turn out? No? Me neither, but holy h3ll did Alina May deliver a damn good story about how it could be!
Manson, Riley and Rachel were all soooo well written and interesting characters that, despite being a bit off what's considered normal 🤭, found their way in society to survive their trauma. Them finding each other, or hunted down Rachel till she complied is probably more accurate 😅, was exactly what Riley and Manson needed to help them voice those feelings they otherwise couldn't explain to one another. In fact that a girl like Rachel got to play such an important role, that she felt needed and wanted somehow, just warmed my heart because she deserved all the love she could get 🥹🖤
This is a perfect book for Halloween with manhunts, masks, a looot of bl00d, captivity, cornmazes, mindgames - but it's also a book that holds a depth where you can find a beautiful story about three neglected children who came out 3 different ways and found each other in the end 🖤
This book hands down was my favorite book Alina has written. I will DEVOUR any book she writes and this book???? ADDICTING. The Hunters Club World is so sick and twisted in such an amazing way. But as always PLEASE check the TW list before reading!!!!!
Rachel’s so innocent and clueless walking right into the arms of two crazy serial killers. Rachel is a collecting skulls, chicken nugget obsessed, and has a love for halloween kinda girly. Little does she know she’s exactly what Riley wants. Keeping a promise to cali (who’s currently missing) she goes to a cornmaze alone… and runs right into Riley’s arms. Riley then decides that Rachel is hers and kidnaps her on the spot. Down the road Manson finds that he’s just as fascinated with her and wants to do everything he can to keep her. It’s all uphill from here…kinda
But besides all the murder, noncon, revenge, escaping, fucking and lotssss of more murder in this book they do open up a ton with eachother. They all had some pretty rough upbringings so definitely check the TWs before you dive in. If the mile long TW list doesn’t faze you, then you’re my kinda person 😏
But as always you are in for a wild ride with this book. Alina you are KILLING it with this hunters series. I loved this book so so so much and cannot wait for your next one 🫶🏻 I’m so excited to see what’s in store for Wyatt’s story!!
•ARC review• Release date: October 10th Book 2 of The Hunter’s Club (interconnected series, can be read as standalones)
I have yet to read a book by Alina that I don’t like. That woman can do no wrong. Her books are such a delight, with the perfect dosage of dark romance and characters’ trauma. And spice. How I love the spice Alina brings to the table. Whenever I read a book from her, I lose track of time because of how immersed I am in the story.
Once again, I loved the characters so much. Unhinged, immoral, overall pretty fucked up. It’s the first time that I read an FMF book, usually it’s multiple men with one woman and you know what? It certainly won’t be the last. Riley and Manson’s dynamic was explosive (and toxic but we’re here for it haha) and add Rachel to that: hot. The spice wasn’t as prominent as the previous books even if we get some right in the first chapters, yet it surely delivered. As usual.
Every book by Alina is sure to be fucked up in the best of ways and honestly, even if it speaks volumes, I’ll ALWAYS be at the front lines to read whatever she wants to feed us.
Thank you so much to Alina for the arc 🖤 It was such a pleasure to read Ready Or Not to the very end (yes I’m a nosey bastard, what can I say?).

I’m all for going into a book blind, I don’t really have any triggers and I like to be surprised. However, that being said I want expecting this book to have quite so much girl on girl action which I really didn’t enjoy! Aside from that, I loved the multiple pov’s, the characters themselves were great and the other spice was hot. I did feel it lacked a decent plot, felt a bit chaotic at times but overall a good read!
i had such a fantastic time w Wanna Play? and then put off reading this for awhile just from the summary alone … and i wish i would’ve stayed off. this felt completely disjointed and nonsensical in that in just flashed to random time jumps to try and explain the diff characters hardships but without ever explaining their actual relationship. it is step siblings? but i don’t know how they came together, i don’t know if they lived together, i don’t know the diff in their ages, i don’t understand how they got together? none of this made any sense and it wasn’t even very smutty OR romance. it was just dark to be dark & didn’t really hit on any other boxes or needs i have as a reader. also i don’t remember a bunch from the first books (it was very much a five stars for the vibes kinda read) but i hardly understand how these two have anything in common & wish they weren’t a “series” at all.
I loved Wanna Play A Game, so this was an absolute must-read for me.
My first FFM, I was invested, and it did not disappoint.
To be fair, though, I love Alina's writing, so I already knew I would love this book.
Rachel is determined to find her missing friend - Cali. Before she had gone missing, they had planned to go to a Spooky Corn Maze together. So, to honour her missing friend, Rachel decides to go alone.
When an autistic girl meets 2 serial unalivers, a Psychopath and Sociopath both with Antisocial Personality Disorders, how will this turn out?
Riley and Manson are nuts 🤣. Completely unhinged. And successfully frustrate each other at every opportunity. I thoroughly enjoyed their dynamic. I was frustrated one minute and laughing the next 🙈.
Rachel, Riley and Manson are complex characters, and Alina has written them beautifully.
Despite their social issues, they find their own way to navigate relationships.
Riley and Manson can't explain why they're drawn to Rachel, but she is exactly what they need to help them recognise their feelings and communicate better with one another.
Rachel, being responsible for improving their relationship, gave her a 'purpose', leading her to 'eventually' feeling needed and wanted.
Perfect for your Halloween tbr with masks, serial un@livers, stockholm syndrome, Step-sibs, tr@uma, Touch her and d!e and found family.
Alina really did a wonderful job of articulating the complexity of emotions throughout this book. The character development was captivating but also realistic. They didn't evolve into completely different characters because they had found each other.
Ready or Not is an interconnected standalone. You don't need to read Wanna Play A Game prior to reading this book - but I do love that book, so I recommend it 🤣.
Please familiarise yourself with the content. YOUR MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS
“Ready or not, here I come.” “Run faster, little deer.” “Oh, shocking, you’re fighting my battles for me.” “That’s pretty gay for a straight girl.”
This was the first book I’ve read from the author and I really enjoyed it. I also haven’t read that many FFM books before, but after reading this one, I really want to read more.
I liked the relationship development between Riley, Rachel, and Manson as duos, but also all together as a trio. Their interactions and dynamic were well written and interesting. Especially the chaotic dynamic between Riley and Manson.
The spice was spicing, and I especially liked the scene with the strap on 🔥
The flashback scenes sprinkled around the book helped to bring more depth to the characters and also helped to understand where they were coming from and why they were doing what they did.
I loved having some character art in the book. It always helps me picture the characters better.
I haven’t read the first book in The Hunter’s Club series, but this didn’t affect my reading experience, and in my opinion this book worked great as a standalone.
Please check the trigger warnings before reading!
I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review. Receiving ARC didn’t affect my opinion of the book.
𝑨𝑹𝑪 𝑹𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒘 RoN is the second book in Alina’s The Hunters Club series. Alina wrote it, so Imma read it. I adored Wanna Play a Game and was so eager to see what was to come for the rest of the series. Ready or Not was a very interesting take on characters who are diagnosed with Autism and Antisocial Personality Disorder. Alina shows us how the MC’s navigate emotions, how they decipher each social setting and how they may, or may not choose to respond. The back stories of each of the characters were divine, showing the reader how they become a few of the deadliest MC’s with no human remorse. The whole Halloween setting, the chase, the feral tendencies and learning about one’s own desires, were brilliant! Bring on book three!
To preface this is dark, check out the trigger warnings.
I had to take a breather a little less than halfway through. To get in the proper headspace for this wild ride. The writing is great, and that helped so much.
I AM SO GLAD I CAME BACK FROM MY BREATHER. At first, I had no idea what I was getting into. The characters with their own mental illnesses, was at first, hard to understand their reasonings, but as the story grew and character growth, I had a much better understanding.
I really liked the past chapters to uncover the reasons why Riley is Riley. Also, when Manson's unhinged obsession started with Riley. He also shows he's a big softy for Riley and just doesn't show it to her.
The dynamics between all three MCs are amazing. Riley and Rachel are perfect for each other, and as the character grows for Manson, he is the perfect glue for their throuple.
The story is dark and twisty, and that's what I love about Alina May; when I start with her books, I know it's going to be pure, unadulterated, unhinged entertainment.

I received an arc copy by the author in exchange for an honest review 💕
Alina is an author that no matter what she writes, I will read it and absolutely devour it. She did such an amazing job with this book, and these characters.
Our sweet, naive Rachel is trying to figure out what happened to her friend Cali (from book one, Wanna Play A Game?) and from the first chapter it's clear she's fighting her own demons. She goes to a corn maze that her and Cali were supposed to go to together, and immediately her entire life changes.
She runs into Riley, who immediately sets her sights on Rachel. And it's all uphill from there. She gets kidnapped by Riley and her step brother Manson, and from there its all murder and debauchery. Like a typical Alina book😉
The character growth between the Rachel, Riley, and Manson, especially Riley and Manson, is amazing. They are two characters you will hate to love, or love to hate, depends on who you are.
Just please remember going into this, this is dark and disturbing. There's a HEA depending on your outlook and I was personally happy with how it ended but this is not something you should look for or ever accept.
There is a sincere lack of neurospicy rep in romance books and I get it, it's hard to write it properly unless you know what you're talking about but it's also hard to write it when you do because hey look, something new to hyperfixate on.
Really enjoyed it. Take the trigger warnings seriously, you're dealing with 2 main characters who have antisocial personality disorder and while one has figured control(ish) over it the other hasn't and nothing you think is wrong means much to them.
Ready Or Not dives into the action right away! I absolutely loved reading these characters' stories and how their minds worked! Rachel is autistic and gets taken by sociopath, Riley, and psychopath, Manson. Ready Or Not is dark, twisted, spicy, and unhinged! It made me feel all the emotions, from breaking my heart to having me crack up laughing! Check your triggers! It is such a great spooky season read!!
Holy moly……. This book starts off needing you to read one handed! This book was 🥵!! Riley cracked me up so much. Manson may have been unhinged but he tried his best to keep his women happy and safe. Rachel gets thrown into a terrifying situation but manages on how to get by. The scenes between Riley and Rachel….. 🧑🍳 💋. I highly recommend this book!
Okay, S|uts. The Letter of the Day is ‘S.’ And what does ‘S’ stand for?? I’m so glad you asked!
✅ Step-Siblings ✅ Serial K!llers ✅ St0ckh0lm S¥ndr0me ✅ Skeletons/Skulls ✅ S0ci0path ✅ S3x ✅ Str@p-0n …And last but not least: ✅ Suckin’ T’itties
Do I have your attention now? Good! Because this may have been my favorite read of the year! 🖤
Can anyone direct me to the nearest corn maze?🌽 I’d like to buy a ticket to the hands-on experience. You know, it’s where I’m chased, t@ckled, h@ndcuffed to the cornstalks, & my p😻ssy is f0rcefully dev0ured like someone’s last meal until I c0me all over her face—all while a s3xy m@sked man watches. I’d love to pretend to be as “not-ga¥” as poor Rachel. 🤫 Yes, please! Sign me up! 🙌🏻
Oh, that’s not real & now you think I need locked up for being ment@lly un$table? 🤷🏼♀️😜 Well, f^ck-nuggets. (No, not chicken-nuggets, Rachel. Calm down. 😉)
Ready or not? Indeed, I was NOT. 👀 This book is a morally black, dark stalker romance with hella focus on revenge, and it had my €lit in a ch0kehold from the moment Manson said, “Boo.” (God, I’m such a sucker for a man in a mask. 🥵😮💨) I know they say “don’t drink the kool-aid,” but I’ll play Manson’s form of Russian Roulette if it means I get two s3xy lun@tics competing to see who can make me c0me first while I’m trippin’ balls. 🙋🏼♀️😵💫🥤
Pretty sure Manson is one of my fav MMC’s at this point. Something about his sarcastic attitude & controlling, methodical vibe repeatedly had my p😻ssy twitching. I just wish I had more of him. His banter with Riley was absolute perfection. The whole step-sibling thing always seems to hit all the right places. 💦
And Riley? She’s as feral as her pet coyotes. That b!tch is deliciously der@nged & completely uncontroll@ble. There’s no amount of tr@ckers Manson can ever have to keep a finger on her, but that s3xy, touch-her-&-☠️ man keeps trying anyway. 🖤
And then there’s Rachel. Let me break character & be serious here for a sec… Alina May, thank you so much for writing a stellar morally black, dark romance that accurately represents neurodivergence. As a high-masking ASD adult female with cPTSD, I have never felt so accurately represented in a fictional story as I did by Rachel in this book. I know that may be weird to admit given the storyline, but her inner monologue, intense interests (skeletons), picky eating (chicken nuggets), stimming behaviors (skin-picking), limited socialization (Cali), camouflaging, & difficulty with eye contact, were all 100% on point. Just reading a character with similar “quirks” made me feel so much less alone in the world. So, thank you for that. 🙏🏻🫶🏻❤️
Honestly, I had so many emotions while reading this book. There are HEAVY TW’s for childhood SA, as well as a lot of straight-up n0n’c0n. These characters have had extremely tr@umatizing experiences in their lives & are deeply di$turbed as a result. They’ve never been properly loved, cared for, or taught s0cially & em0tionally n0rmative beh@viors, which seemingly manifested into pers0nality dis0rders. (Riley says she’s a s0ci0path, but she clearly checks every box for Antis0cial Pers0nality Dis0rder. Mason is a p$ych0path, who likely also has an 0bsessive-C0mpulsive Pers0nality Dis0rder.)
Anyway, mos def check the tr;ggers before jumping into this one because there’s A LOT of them. If the TW/“shopping list” doesn’t deter you, I promise you’ll love this book.
Well, what are ya waiting for?! Stop lollygagging and go read it already! 😘
{Pro-Tip: Get the playlist for the book & loop each song to play on repeat for the duration of time you’re reading each respective chapter. Her playlist is my favorite yet and the songs pair PERFECTLY with the vibe and character for each chapter. You’re welcome. 😘}

This blurb makes me giggle. I love it Anyways, I enjoyed this book! This book was fast paced and entertaining. I enjoyed the flashbacks because it gave us a lot of in depth information about the characters, and I also liked how Alina told us one was a psychopath and the other was a sociopath and how one was born and the other was turned. I really enjoyed the step sibling aspect and the serial killers!
I wish there would’ve have been more spicy bc I eat up Alina’s spicy scenes. She writes them very well so that’s why I wish there were more lol. I was also semi confused on Cali and wish there was a little more background there, because I wasn’t sure why she was even there. I get because she was her friend but I was just a little confused lol.
Overall, I enjoyed the story and recommend it to any dark romance reader as I do any of Alina’s books!<3
I read this well over a month ago and it's still on my mind daily.
this did not go in the direction I thought it might, but I was eating this up! read it in a few sittings and each time I didn't have it in my hands reading, my mind was aching to continue the story. I kind of went into this blind. Knowing nothing aside from this was Halloween themed and an FFM dark romance thriller. Didn't read the synopsis or trigger warnings either.
This was complex. each character was well written and their diagnosis (autism and antisocial personality disorder), in my opinion, were well represented for length and type of book this is. I understand why each of the characters are the way they are and how the childhood trauma impacted them. there was a good balance between the plot and spice. there wasn't too much spicy that it overtook from the story. although the spicy that was in it was hot! the illustrations were a nice touch, as always, and the quality of the book itself is worth the $$. (I did buy myself the PR box which has the foiling on the cover).
I thoroughly enjoyed this. This is definitely my fav one from Alina. I'd gladly pick this up again.
Note: please read the trigger warnings before picking this up.
Woman I’m so fucking proud of you. You kill it every time. If Alina writes it I’m going to devour it. And ready or not doesn’t disappoint. I loved being back in the Hunter’s Club world. Poor sweet Rachel and her clueless self. She’s lost she has no clue what’s going on around her and is in her own little world of collecting skulls, wondering WTF happened to her best friend Cali.
She loves Halloween and all she wants to do is go to a cornmaze which she was suppose to do with Cali. Unfortunately for her she runs into Riley and it’s all uphill from there. She’s kidnapped by Riley and Manson and from there it’s a wild ride of murder, revenge, fuckery, noncon, escaping, debochary, more murder you know a typical Alina May book.
But besides all that there is a ton of beautiful character growth, finally facing their feelings (oh no how scary and ewww feelings and all that) opening up and being honestish with each other (because let’s face it they are never going to totally open up) 🤣 and finding true happiness in the chaos that is the Kennedy’s lives.
You’re in for a for a wild fucking ride and I loved EVERY minute of it. Alina babe I’m so fucking proud of you you’re absolutely killing it babe.
“I’ve fallen for two s@rial k@llers and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
4.5⭐️ 3🌶️ “Ready or Not” is a extremely dark, FMF , suspense, masked man/ woman, found family, Autism rep. with some very disturbing and toxic content ( so check those triggers) ⚠️
MFC Rachel is taken by Psychopath MMC “ Manson “ and Sociopath MFC “Riley” who are Step siblings/ Serial Unalivers .
They both have boatloads of childhood traumatic events happen to them. So they are both out to unalive certain individuals who made their lives a living hell.
Poor MFC Rachel is taken and held ca@tive by this unhinged duo and is treated like plaything both emotionally and physically.
Alina does have a way of writing a good dark romance with the most unhinged and damaged characters. To me this is one of those books that you just want to look away from , but I couldn’t stop reading it ! Because I was so curious to see what was going to happen next!
Overall this book was a wild and mess up ride!! And I would recommend it! Thank you Alina May for the opportunity to read this arc!
Holy sheeeetttt and kittens. Alina has done it, yet again. I'm shooookkk! Haha.
Rachel’s story is unlike anything I've ever read. She's starts off going on a date with Cali's ex to try and find out any information on where her friend has run off to. But that leads her to a dead end. Until she meets Manson and Riley...
These two are off the wall unhinged, typical for an Alina book 🤣 but man was I here for all of it. The two of them seriously made me so angry, had me laughing, had me ripping my hair out of my head, and also loving them. Such a weird combination of so many emotions.
Riley oh Riley. I absolutely love her craziness. Like she's an absolute spitfire. A brat (my favorite). So ungodly sassy. She's something else. So hands down, she wins for being one of my favorite FMCs, ever!
Ohhh and the crossover to the Hunter’s Club 😍 eeeek!
I am so incredibly excited for Wyatt’s story next! 💜
