There’s a demon out there who needs to pay for what he's done. And with my Redleg family, I'll usher him to his judgment day.
Just when I thought Lettie and I finally found our happily ever after, danger stands in the way.
The mafia wants payback for what they lost when I rescued her. I want vengeance for what they did to her. And everyone at Redleg wants justice.
Lettie deserves a happy ending. And maybe I do too. Yet we can’t find peace until this nightmare is behind us.
When I think we’re almost in the clear, I come face-to-face with our worst nightmare. Now I’m forced to make a decision that could destroy us. Instead of finding redemption, we could lose everything.
Author's Unexpected Redemption is Book 7 in the Redleg Security Series and part three of the Unexpected Trilogy (former Unexpected Duet), complete with a glorious Happily Ever After. This is not a standalone book.
This Redleg Security Series is best read in order to prevent suspense-related spoilers. However, this trilogy (Unexpected Hero, Unexpected Heroine, and Unexpected Redemption) can be read on their own if you so choose. But it's best read as part of the entire Redleg Series (suggested reading order shown below).
This is a spicy romance trilogy featuring a former military intelligence officer turned security specialist who falls for his boss's secret daughter while covertly "observing" her. The trilogy is spicy, swoony, angsty, suspenseful, and even has some laughs. Content warnings are available on the author's website and can be viewed (or not) in the front of the e-book.
All books in the Redleg Security Series are available in e-book, regular paperback, and discreet paperback. Audio for the Unexpected Trilogy (narrated by Aaron Shedlock and Kelsey Navarro Foster) is coming late 2024.
*** Jackie brings you stories featuring her signature blend of comedy, spice, suspense, multi-faceted characters, and romantic, heartwarming moments. A voracious romance reader herself, Jackie writes stories featuring the four Ss: Suspense, Swoons, Steam, and Sarcasm.
Her heroines are badass, and her heroes are easy on the eyes and heavy on the charm. She loves writing characters with real emotions, flaws, and mental health issues and is known to send them to therapy where they belong. Let’s normalize that shit.
When she is not writing stories about swoony heroes and the women who get to play with them, she is avoiding life with an audiobook in her ears or taking care of her army of cats and peacocks or hanging with her teenage son (who also speaks fluent sarcasm).
This was such a perfect way to end a seriously intense and emotional trilogy, we finally got to see Lettie and Tomer have some calm and happy moments and it was so special. After the trauma and turmoil they both faced in the first two books it was so nice to see them just be in love. Their love story was beautiful and so so hard fought and this one actually cracked my cold, black heart open and made me cry. It was the epilogue, my god that was sooo 😭🥹😭 The narrators are phenomenal and you can tell they gave their heart and soul to this performance so the audio is a must!
This was a great conclusion to this trilogy, and continuation is the overall story of this series. Though there are things left unresolved because the series isn't over, everything you need to be out to rest and rights with these two is. Their HEA is beyond earned, and the prologue will warm your heart. I loved these two!
Like the rest of the series, I listened to this one on audiobook and really enjoyed it. These narrators have really done a great job with this series, and I look forward to the rest of them or any other project that they might work on.
Wow, just wow. Unexpected Redemption was everything I wanted and needed in the book to close out the Unexpected trilogy in Walker's Redleg Sefurity series. Unexpected Redemption is the seventh entry in the Redleg Security series and the third book in the trilogy telling the story of Lettie and Tomer. A note I want to mention upfront, this book does include sensitive topics and possible trauma triggers, so please do be sure to check out the trigger warnings before reading as this author always does a wonderful job of making sure to call them out.
The conclusion to this story only further cemented Tomer and Lettie as my favorite couple in Walker's literary universe. The book was filled with plenty of angst, suspense, and as per usual tons of steam and spice. We do get some resolution to the overarching mafia storyline that started in book 3 and has carried forward and this trilogy set up what I suspect will be the next leg of that journey in that story beautifully.
This book continues the trend of covering events/mentioning events briefly from each of the previous books in the Redleg series and we see a few call backs to and cameos from her Amos family series. Because of how tightly this book is tied to the rest in the series, I highly recommend reading the entire series prior to this, but especially Comeback Hero and Rival Hero first. Because this is book three in the trilogy it's not truly standalone, but the trilogy could be read as a standalone.
Unexpected Redemption provides the HEA conclusion for our heroine (h) Lettie, who overcame so much in the first two books from her past prior to meeting our H and more recent traumatic events when had she eas abducted and forced into a human trafficking ring and our hero (H) Tomer who is working to be a better man after learning what his life was like without Lettie. The majority of this book focuses on Lettie and Tomer finding their way forward together in love as they deal with the aftermath of his secrets and lies coming to light and as the outside threats to themselves and everyone they love ramp up significantly. This book does have a bit of angst and several scenes that caused visceral reactions (of the whole gamut of emotions) in me to be sure, but it's all totally necessary and helps move the plot forward. I love seeing them get their happy ending when they recommit to each other on an even playing field where honesty and openness become the hallmarks of their renewed relationship. The spicy scenes also definitely had me needing a fan or a glass of water.
For those considering the series, I would call the H morally grey, while we saw in the first book his main focus was protecting her, his focus in the second book shifted to helping her heal, while seeking vengence for Lettie. In the third book we see thar need for vengeance at any cost shift more toward seeking justice for Lettie. As always, I loved the interactions with the other characters from the Redleg family but the interactions between Boss and Lettie, Lettie and Sammy, and Tomer and his whole Redleg family at the end stand out as some of my favorites in the entire series. Throughout the books we see Tomer'w internal struggles weighing him down over the lies he's told Lettie, the secrets he has kept hidden from her, and the boundaries he crossed with her in ways that are questionable and then of course as he deals with the aftermath. Because I felt his despair, shame, and remorse for his actions, I was okay with him being a bit morally grey, but if any type of stalking (alluded to and discussed in terms of revisiting/explaining things from book one), BDSM, or age gaps are a dealbreaker, it's probably best to skip this trilogy. Also there is discussion of the physical violence and sexual assault the h experienced in book one so again if those are triggers or dealbreakers, I'd skip this one. I personnally appeciated the sensitivity, nuance, realism, and compassion that this author brings in dealing with a topic both difficult and terrifying throughout the whole trilogy.
At this point I am looking forward to Big Al's story, but I'm not sure anyone can dethrone Lettie and Tomer as my favorites.
One final thing I particularly want to note, I really appreciate about this author is her consistent treatment of difficult topics with both a content/trigger warning at the beginning as well as just the general sensitivity in the way they were handled in all her stories. The BDSM and kink aspects were handled realistically and in a way that is honest and a bit humorous.
No cheating or other woman plotlines or anything like that.
Tropes/Themes Include: Morally Grey Hero, Age Gap, BDSM and Kink, Neurodivergent MCs, Forbidden Love (Boss's Daughter), Wounded Hero, Secret Identity, Stalker Light, Angsty
Finally the third book (though we didn't have to wait to long - thank you Jackie!). What an epic love story from the very start, beautifully concluded in book 3. Tomer and Lettie get their HEA, and what a journey to get there. I don't want to write any other spoilers in this review, read my reviews of book 1 and 2 to get a taste, but this third book just brings their story to a brilliant conclusion. This trilogy (and the Redleg series) has been one hell of a ride. It will make you cry and swoon, it has highs and lows that will have you reeling but it is worth every page turn, and each splinter and stich to your heart. This book has redemption in all its forms.
We finally get the conclusion to Lettie and Tomer’s story in this book, and it’s what I have been binging for! These two have faced so much together and the way the author has wrapped it all up was perfect. These two are undoubtedly my favorite in the Redleg series! Their love is untouchable and their story is nothing short of eternal. This writer can certainly bring a heartbreaking trauma and turn it into a rock-solid beautiful love between two people. This HEA was not easily obtained, Jackie put us THROUGH IT. Emotionally taxing, but my heart is full again and I just loved it. A perfect conclusion to these two, worth the wait! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Absolutely amazing!!! so worth the three part series and I love these seeing these two together!!! Perfect spice and so much more detail that makes the series addictive!!
The perfect end to this trilogy! 💕 Jackie Walker, you did that!
I can’t believe it’s over. 😢 Even though the journey within this trilogy has been so emotional, with some serious and hard/sensitive topics explored. Within all that, I’ve truly loved seeing Lettie and Tomer’s love story grow within these last 3 books. Unexpected Redemption is part 3 of the Unexpected Trilogy and book #7 within the larger Redleg Security Series. And finally, Lettie and Tomer get their HEA!
I’ll try not to give away any spoilers! So, after the events of the previous books, Lettie and Tomer think they’re in the clear and are finally ready to have their happily ever after. However, danger still lurks as the mafia wants payback for what they lost when Tomer rescued Lettie. In this conclusion to their story, the focus is on Lettie and Tomer healing from their past traumas especially Lettie after her kidnapping and human trafficking experience. Their main aim is to move forward together with their love, as they deal with the aftermath of all the events from the previous books and all the secrets that were revealed. As for Tomer, he wants to grow and become better for Lettie.
This book explores so much; there are conflicts, heartbreak, trauma, and so much emotion and angst. But their love proves stronger than it all, and they are able to overcome so much to finally be together. I just loved seeing them recommit to one another and decide to finally be completely open and honest, and to start afresh. Even with all the difficult topics explored, Jackie Walker was still able to weave in some lighter moments with amazing banter between the characters. Plus, the spice scenes definitely left me all hot and bothered lol 🙈.
Finally, it was nice seeing all the callbacks to characters and events from the first 4 books particularly Comeback Hero and Rival Hero. As always, I adore the found family aspects and the loyalty that we see between the Redleg Security team. Although difficult at times to read/listen, it truly was a joy to take this romance and life journey with the characters.
I must add that with all the difficult and heavy topics explored within this trilogy, Jackie did amazingly with how she handled them, consistently with such sensitivity. Please check the content/trigger warnings at the beginning of the book to ensure you know what you’re getting into.
Narrated by Aaron Shedlock and Kelsey Navarro Foster. They were both phenomenal in bringing the story within this finale to life. They delivered on the emotions, the angst, the anger, the fear, the vulnerability, and just about everything the characters were feeling at every given moment. I just felt like I was there with the characters, experiencing their story and all the emotions with them. And the narrations definitely aided in that. Top-tier performances indeed!
Thanks to the author, Jackie Walker, for letting me be on her audio arc team and providing me with a review copy of this book. All opinions provided in this review are entirely my own.
Wow! This is the ending to a trilogy within the Redleg Security series, and Jackie Walker didn't pull any punches with Lettie & Tomer's story! Without giving away any spoilers, which would be so easy, these two finally get their HEA.
These two characters have experienced so much in these 3 books, from the build-up in their relationship to a surge of emotions, gut-wrenching, and dangerous plot twists, their relationship finally makes landfall & hits the ground hard focusing on Lettie & Tomer's way back to each other as they deal with the aftermath of lies, deception, trauma & danger. Coming out on the other side of the storm with a renewed relationship & commitment to each other.
Lettie and Tomer's happy ending is wrapped up in the prettiest box with the biggest bow. Their love withstands some strong storms that are fraught with conflict, heartbreak & trauma, but as the storm begins to die down and the winds change direction in their relationship, these two come into their own. Their love story is never-ending & indestructible. Jackie certainly can write a heartbreaking & emotional story, but in the end, this couple's love is unbreakable.
Getting to their HEA was a hard one, I'm not gonna lie. The road Jackie paves is a tough & rocky one & she puts you through the ringer. There's lots of healing to be done, but so much love & compassion woven throughout the story. Friendship & loyalty continue to be a theme throughout all of this series with the Redleg family & they are totally there for each other. It's been a wonderful aspect of this series of books.
As emotional & angsty as this is, there's still plenty of snarky sass, top tier banter & spicy moments that Jackie is known for.The girl likes to head down to Spicy town guys! 😂She's really served up a whole meal with dessert included in this story. You get all the emotions and from both ends of the spectrum. Unexpected redemption is right! Well done Miss Jackie👏👏👏
🎧Let's talk narration...Kelsey & Aaron were absolutely AMAZING as Lettie & Tomer. I honestly can't imagine anyone else voicing these characters now. Delivering passionate performances filled with emotion, vulnerability, warmth, anger & fear. Their narration will bring you joy & you'll be kicking your feet over their talent! Such a pleasure to listen to them.
Jackie tackles some tough topics in this trilogy & she has CONSISTENTLY handled them with such sensitivity. Please check your content warnings so you know what you're getting into to. Books 5,6, and 7 absolutely need to be read in order. You're just waiting for this storm to pass but in the end, Jackie serves you up nothing but sunshine and it's as bright & sunny as it can be!
Thank you so much Jackie Walker for allowing me to be on your ALC team & opportunity to review. All thoughts are my own.
Here's what you'll get: 💜Morally grey hero 🖤Age gap 💜Neurodivergent MC's 🖤Forbidden love (boss's daughter) 💜Wounded hero 🖤Secret Identity 💜Angsty 🖤BDSM
“Unexpected Redemption” is the 7th book in the Redleg Security series, and in the Lettie and Tomer trilogy, it is the third and final book. The book cannot be read as a standalone. I would recommend reading the complete Redleg Security series first, as this will give you the best overview and background information on the characters. If you don't have the time, then I recommend at least reading or even better listening to “Unexpected Hero” and “Unexpected Heroine” beforehand. The author's writing style is wonderfully light and humorous, but serious and emotional in the right places. The two characters, Tomer and Lettie, are both likeable and deeply developed by the author. My heart broke into a thousand pieces for them during this trilogy and it took a while for it to become one big whole again. Rarely have two protagonists deserved a happy ending as much as Tomer and Lettie. A new phase of life begins for the two of them and, despite the circumstances, they have never lost faith in their love; on the contrary, Tomer is always there for Lettie. And there is also her father, whom she wants to get to know better. While their private lives change in an unexpected direction, you also notice Tomer's change and how, thanks to Lettie, he comes out of himself and leaves the shadows of his family behind. On the other hand, the threat against Redleg Security needs to be eliminated and the team has their hands full trying to find the culprits. As I mentioned before, I loved this trilogy with all its facets. There were fantastic, deeply created characters, a great plot with lots of suspense, the development of the case was not predictable and I loved how Tomer and Lettie's relationship developed. It had everything needed for an entertaining read: Deep emotions, angst and drama, but also suspense and excitement, action and steamy romance. And guys, the ending is waiting with a surprise. I didn't see the epilogue coming, but I loved it!
The audiobook was narrated by Aaron Shedlock and Kelsey Navarro Foster and they are a perfect choice and nailed it put of the park. They portrayed the two protagonists brilliantly. They made me as a listener experience every little emotion. Be it passion, insecurity, warmth, happiness, anger or fear, they portrayed it all perfectly and brought the story to life. Brilliant job! I love Joe Arden's voice. It was a pleasure to listen to the two of them!
“Unexpected Redemption” is the third and final book of a trilogy within the “Redleg Security” series, Tomer and Lettie’s story which starts with “Unexpected Hero”, followed by “Unexpected Heroine”, and they need to be read and/or listened to in order to get the full picture. I’ll even take it a step further, to get the most out of the incredible world building and enjoy the series in order written, since each book is as amazing as the other and so are the Redleg characters and their backstories. That said, Tomer and Lettie quickly became one of my favorite characters, and learning more about them throughout the series further solidified that. In this book, we see how far these characters have come and grown into their own, with Lettie being Lettie, a more confident Lettie, full of Lettie’isms, which I loved and Tomer, she brought him out of himself, no longer being a shell of a man. Even his team noticed the change and we get to see more of them in this book as they work together to take down the threat against Redleg, the crime ring and find out who is behind it all and running the show. I loved all the layers of this story and how it all played out, with a perfect balance of drama, angst, mystery, thrilling suspense, heartfelt emotions, and steamy romance. Kudos to Jackie Walker, not only for this exceptional trilogy and series, but for the brilliant plotting, writing, way with words and witty dialogue. And that ending and epilogue, love, love, loved it!
🎧📚🎧 Aaron Shedlock and Kelsey Navarro Foster were absolutely amazing in this series, delivering an exceptional performance and a spot on portrayals of each character. Their character voices have been consistent throughout the series and they were natural in their roles. Shedlock took Tomar to a new height as his character grew into his own, showing us a new confidence and self worth by the end and Navarro Foster, as Lettie, wow, just wow, her handling of the Lettie-isms, wit and inner dialogue was brilliant. Definitely award winning performances here for them both. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thanks for another exceptional listen.
This book was a great ending to their story. I am glad that they mostly tied up everything in this book. That being said, though, I do still feel like this stretched out a little more than necessary. So, with all the extra, I don't think it could be condensed to 2 books, maybe 2.5, so I supposed a little filler in there would be needed.
I didn't like how anti-climactic everything seemed, especially with Viktor's death. It just felt like a bit of an afterthought. Then, with everything with Katia and the architect still as loose threads, it feels a little unfinished. I totally get that there needs to be a little to tide us over to the next book where we can then finish it all off, but in this trilogy, I never got the sense that Viktor was the big bad objective in everything, so his death near the end didn't give me that wrapped up and tidy feeling. After Viktor died, it felt like the book went on a little too much, and that was one of the stretched out moments. That could be why it didn't feel like the ending, simply because everything kept going, and then eventually fizzled to the end.
I am glad that everyone finally got the picture (after Lettie flat out had to tell them) that Tomer didn't like the signs and it was bothering him so much when they kept putting them up. Mia understood it, but nobody else seemed to get it. He needed that moment with everyone, too.
I will eventually get to the last book in the series. I am hoping, though, that there isn't a lot of overlap with the overarching story so far. I know there will inevitably have to be some, which is why I am not looking forward to it, but hopefully it is minimized.

👀POV: Dual, first person, present tense 📖 What to expect: age gap, virgin heroine, forbidden love, secret identity, wounded hero, military hacker, light stalking, dom/sub, suspense *check the content warnings at the front of the book.
Such a beautiful ending to the trilogy.
Strong found family vibes. I love the Redleg family, but even more so in this book. Such a supportive, loving, playful group. It's got a captivating suspense storyline. I love it when the villain gets his comeuppance. Loved the therapy/ mental health rep.
Lots of unpacking trauma and healing. I loved how the whole team supports each other’s healing journey. Loved the dom/sub dynamic between Tomer and Lettie and how much he's a softie for her.
The audio was great. Loved Lettie's southern twang. Kelsey Navarro Foster did a great job capturing her playful, bratty personality. Aaron Shedlock was amazing as Tomer, striking the perfect balance between his dominant nature and underlying vulnerability. Even though this was in dual style, the text exchanges were done in due, which was a nice treat. The reason i gave the performance 4.5 stars instead of 5 is because Kelsey gave Sue O'malley, the FMC from book 1, an Irish accent that she's not supposed to have. Though her parents are Irish, Sue was born in America and therefore has an American accent. She even comments in book 1 on how her older brothers can put on a really good Irish accent but she can't. So I was very confused when she started speaking and she had a bit of Irish in her accent.
We were gifted with a bonus epilogue that was both heartwarming and spicy, and left me teary-eyed.
Highly recommend this trilogy. The whole series, in fact.
💜 Collar 🖤 Hot guy shit 💜 Three things 🖤 Greek mythology 💜 Found family 🖤 Caterpillar 💜 Redleg banter
Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice: 🌶️🌶️.5
If book one is the calm, book two is the storm, then book three is the freaking rainbow after the skies have cleared. My gosh. There were definitely tense times; suspense, revenge, and all that jazz. But damn. Did this book had me smiling, laughing, swooning, and giggling through the whole darn thing. I think Jackie may have infused some crack in the book or something because I was Hooked! This book is absolutely everything. An incredible wrap up of this trilogy.
I had finished listening to the ALC of Unexpected Heroine and NEEDED to find out what happened. And yes, I did read the entire thing with the voices of Kelsey Navarro Foster and Aaron Shedlock in my head. They did a great job by the way. 🤣 I can’t wait until I get to relive this book with their Actual voices narrating it! I am so looking forward to getting to experience this book all over again because it was just so good!
Because of all the shizz that went down at the end of book one and all through book two, I appreciate that Jackie didn’t let what happened just get brushed under the rug or all of a sudden everyone is miraculously cured!! No. The things that happened didn’t heal over night, or over the course of two more books. I think that she did a bang up job addressing the ‘dark’ with care. This book may be more lighthearted with rainbows and butterflies, but there are still serious issues that are tackled here. I can see why our beloved Jackie had to make it a trilogy. And I’m glad she did because I am so in love with Tomer and Lettie it’s ridiculous. One book just wouldn’t have been enough! Heck, three might not be, but I don’t want to be greedy lol
There is a lot that happens in this book, and some of it will remain unsolved. There is a reason for that and as it is addressed in the acknowledgments, those things will be wrapped up in Boss’s book. What does ‘go down’ in this book is (*cough Tomer cough*) yep, Jackie and the Redleg gang are once again rubbing off on me…(I’ll leave you to close that door 😅). Anywho, the events in this book are suspenseful, confusing (thanks Yuri), nerve wracking, and just so freaking good. I really enjoyed the complex comparison to the story of Icarus and Greek Mythology. I would never make it on the Redleg team lol but I’m glad they all have each other to figure that shit out!
The outpouring of love in this book was *almost* too much for my heart to handle, much like Sammy and her ‘grinch heart’ 🤣 I don’t want to give anything away because this trilogy is so good that you need to go in knowing that it’s going to hurt for a time, but its also sweet, funny, swoony, heart wrenching, and SO. DANG. WORTH IT. Oh, and you know how book two is about healing and honesty, and spice isn’t the focus? Yeah. That’s not this book. It starts off hot and heavy right from the get go, and damn. Tomer is the most patient, loving, and sexiest of the Redleg bunch. (Shhh, don’t tell the others!) Gosh damn Jackie ma’am. That was one of the best book beginnings I’ve ever read 😅🫠🥵😂
In a nutshell from the squirrel that lives in Lettie’s delulu land, please, for the love of all things, READ THIS TRILOGY. Strike that, READ THE WHOLE DARN REDLEG SERIES! I swear each book is better than the last! And the whole lot of MCs have k!nks that are SO worth exploring 😏
**Audiobook**
I love listening to audiobooks with great narrators. This book though, really this trilogy, is BEYOND my expectations as a listener. Aaron Shedlock and Kelsey Navarro-Foster deserve every award you could possibly give a voice actor for their performances as Tomer and Lettie. They were magnificent. I don’t have the proper vernacular to describe how well they narrated these characters. They brought them to life, hell, I think they might actually BE Tomer and Lettie for how well they did! In Unexpected Redemption we got to spend more time with the Redleg gang, and all the voices (mainly from Sawyer 😂) that go with it. Shedlock absolutely crushed each and every one. He is the embodiment of the Tomer. I was in awe of his entire performance. And Navarro-Foster?! Holy. Shirtballs. How? HOW is she such a perfect Lettie?! The sass and snark is strong with this one 🤣 and I ADORED it! My gosh. An absolute rockstar! Whoever at One Night Stands studio told Jackie Walker these two should be Tomer and Lettie, I need to tackle hug you. Because thank you! I truly hope everyone listens to these audiobooks, they are some of THE BEST PERFORMANCES I’ve ever listened to (and I’m an audiobook junkie lol I listen, and I know things. 😂🤣). AND JACKIE WALKER MA’AM. Epilogue two?! I. Can’t. Even. Handle. It. Freaking. Precious.
Here are a few of my random thoughts while reading:
Moana’s “You’re welcome” sung by the Rock is something my husband and I have been doing for years 😂 such a hilarious reference, especially for why Tomer sang it!
Dammit Jackie, what are you so ducking hilarious!? “I’ve done flabbered my ghasts.” Literally lol’d 😂
Chapter 25 had me laughing out loud with most of the gang ribbing each other. And Leo? Gahh. I love this Redleg family so much.
🐿️“But Lettie’s not my sub. She’s the love of my f***ing life, and I’ll kneel before her until the end of time.” 🐿️“It doesn’t matter if you’re compliant and submissive or a teasing brat. As long as you’re with me, I’m the luckiest man on earth. Now come here.” 🐿️“F***ing shatter,” he grits out. “Look at your reflection at that sexy woman f***ing me, and come on your c***.” 🐿️”The excrement is about to hit the rotary oscillator, and I'm not wearing a raincoat.” 🐿️”Give me org@sm, or give me d3ath.” 🐿️“Babe, you’re unbelievably perfect for me in every way. The sanity to my insanity. The responsibility to my irresponsibility. And the logic to my chaos.” 🐿️“Fill me up, babe. Please c*** inside me. I want every drop.”
Note: I’m using my review from Unexpected Hero because trilogy! Extra note: Tomer is my favorite book boyfriend of 2024!
Story rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️(0-5) Narration: 🎧🎧🎧🎧🎧 (0-5) Overall: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 (0-5) Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 (0-5) mild bdsm and voyeurism
What I’m Starry-Eyed Over: 🤩 The trilogy can be read alone, but I highly recommend the whole Redleg Security series, especially the perfectly cast audiobooks! 🤩 Jackie has the most amazing way of giving a truly all the feels experience with the added suspense in the Redleg Security series plots along with her witty charm and humor even among difficult topics. 🤩 Aaron Shedlock gives us his all as the many sides to Tomer, and I’m so in love and lust. Kelsey Navarro Foster is the perfect Lettie, giving us her sweetness, her strength, and all the sass in between. 🤩 I’m here for the good guy stalker vibes (tagged as stalker light by the author). When Tomer finds a way to call Lettie and check on her. 🤩 The heart-wrenching flashbacks are so well written and captivating. 🤩 The protector plus DOM combo is everything. 🤩 Secret pining, ok actually obsession, and self-pleasuring. PUFF 🤩 The characterization is so developed and fabulous. But the inner dialogue by these MCs is laugh-out-loud hilarious. 🤩 The plot is so full of feels and written so believably. 🤩 When I highlight almost everything in chapter 34 because it is just so perfect. Tomer’s sweet dirty talk works on me too, Lettie baby! 🤩 Inexperienced FMC, but she’s a very good girl! 🤩 And Tomer is 100% book boyfriend material because of his tender after-care and his ability to teach Lettie open communication.
What I’m Wishing/Dizzy About: 💫 My heart doesn’t like a cliffhanger, but Jackie’s been honest about it being a trilogy, so I’m okay with it! For her, I’m okay with it. I have mild bookish depression here at the end, but it’s fine. I’m fine. Everything is fine. My heart is ready to heal with them in Unexpected Heroine and Unexpected Redemption.
🔬Caution/Trigger warnings: flashback memories of childhood mental abuse, on-page drink drugging and abduction. Jackie does a tasteful job of leaving out the icky details during and after the abduction, thank goodness.
Unexpected Redemption is the third book in this Magnificent trilogy and the conclusion to Tomer and Lettie's romance. I love this couple they have been through so much together and have had their own personal battles to overcome...But in this story they finally come out of the darkness into the light. There are no words to say how phenomenal this story is and I am so afraid of writing any spoilers so this review may be brief, but I have a lot of love for Jackie Walker and this story, well all her stories actually. I adore the Redleg Family and how they go above and beyond for eachother and it is no different in this book..They are all there for Tomer and Lettie trying to get justice for Lettie. Tomer is something else I love the way he loves Lettie and the changes in him from book 1 to book 3 is so palpable..You can feel his love for her.His growth is truly inspiring confronting his past trauma and having therapy..There is no shame in needing help it actually makes you strong admitting that you need help,it shows courage and bravery. Of course there is drama with the Mafia they want revenge and so does Tomer for what they did to Lettie. Lettie also shows great strength coming back from all she has been through and still having hope. The Audiobook is some of the BEST Narration I have ever had the privilege to listen to..The Superstars who bring this book to life are Kelsey Navarro Foster and Aaron Shedlock..They are absolutely BRILLIANT portraying Tomer and Lettie and I enjoyed listening to them take me on this romantic and suspenseful journey, through their talented voices. Jackie Walkers writing is just exceptionally Outstanding she brings all the emotions pulling at your heartstrings and then can easily make you smile when she sprinkles humour in there..I often find myself laughing and crying in equal doses. The steam is filthy hot and the chemistry between Tomer and Lettie is electrifying. Tomer and Lettie are perfectly imperfect together as a couple they blossom and their story is beautiful..This is a WONDERFUL Conclusion to their HEA. EXCELLENT. 5 Stars.
Book 3 of the Unexpected Trilogy and book 7 of the Redleg Security series…. I was so sad to say goodbye to this couple! Jackie did an absolutely phenomenal job getting us to this couple’s HEA! Book 2 was heavy on Lettie’s healing and this book was Tomer’s turn to heal while Lettie embraced her strength. Although Lettie had accepted his secrets she wasn’t the only person Tomer kept things from and he has to deal with that. This book was heavy on the Redleg family and taking down the people who wrong them. There were tears (both happy and sad), lots of laughs and smiles, some swoony moments and let’s not forget the spice. This whole trilogy is perfection and Jackie gave us an extra cherry on top with the bonus epilogue! Big Al’s book is up next and I can’t wait to see what it brings!
Finally!!! Only took three big books but I don’t know where I’d be without all three. I enjoyed the love story wrap up in this one. I felt it was more story and closing of part of the suspense storyline but not completely. Just enough to complete Lettie’s story but keep me salivating for Boss’s story. I see what you are doing there….
Seriously though, been obsessed with Tomer since he was introduced in this series and I was nervous how his story would play out. Never in my wildest dreams would I think this behemoth would do what it did to me. There was no way it was making it into one book. Pleased with the trilogy and the HEA they finally got.
Tomer and Lettie finally found their HEA. This couple’s journey was tumultuous, full of twists and turns, but when the world seemed to be cruel and wanted to destroy them they showed the world the finger and fought for their happiness. This book also brought all the previous couples together into one great “party”… so many characters and such a great group dynamics. The series is movie worth!! And because it’s not just the writing that makes the audiobook amazing, Aaron Shedlock and Kelsey Navarro Foster continued to do an amazing job as Tomer and Lettie. Their narration matched what the characters were feeling and with such sensitive topics being discussed all these little details make an amazing book even better!
Even though this isn't the end of Redleg, this could not have ended better for Tomer and Lettie. I expected a happily ever after, but I did not expect to cry the last couple of chapters and epilogue. They are simply perfect for each other, and it shows throughout the trilogy. Aaron Shedlock was the perfect choice for Tomer. His tone and inflection brought Tomer's personality to life. Kelsey Navarro Foster owned Lettie and her accent and Littie-isms. I just loved them both for this story.
I cannot wait to see where the next book takes us in the Redleg world.
Such a great conclusion to this trilogy. I was worried about the length of the books but so much care and attention was given to this beautiful story. Lettie and Tomer are such an amazing couple and the love they share is so undeniable. Lettie was such a strong, resilient and relatable character. I loved her and her squirrels 😉. Tomer was the biggest simp for Lettie, I don’t think I have read a man so gone for a woman like this one. My heart was so full for Tomer that finally received the love he deserved. I can sleep peacefully now.
Unexpected Redemption is the third book in the Redleg Security trilogy and conclusion for Tomer and Lettie’s story!
Kelsey Foster and Aaron Shedlock do an incredible job portraying Homer and Lettie! Narrators, really just like authors, can make or break a book…these two, nailed it! Just like Jackie!!!
Tropes: • Morally Grey Hero • Age Gap • Forbidden • Wounded Hero • BDSM • Stalker
These two had so many battles to overcome both individually and as a couple so this was such a beautiful story to follow. All of the books in this trilogy gave us just a bit of these two and the perfect ending was to give them both the strength and the desire to overcome everything tossed at them to finally have their own HEA!
Jackie Walker, you never disappoint when you give us a story from your heart!
What an epic conclusion to Tomer & Letty’s story. They have already gone through so much, but they still had trauma to heal from, vengeance to meet out. The Red Leg crew are still at work trying to solve Letty’s case, there are twists, potential betrayals, taunting, and so many more road blocks. It takes a lot of work from the entire team. Letty & Tomer both have a lot to heal from, but they both have come so far, and their love & compassion shows through and helps them grow & heal. Friendships are solidified, relationships are healed. There is still plenty of snark & sass, amazing banter, fiery spice, and forever bonds. This was a very intense, angsty, emotional story that really highlights the strength of love, forgiveness, friendship & found family.
Loved loved loved the conclusion to this trilogy. This one is filled with so much love and hope and warm feelings. And I loved all the time with familiar characters from the rest of the series.
The narrators were perfect for this trilogy! They did amazing with all the strong emotions and trauma and recovery.
Wow! This trilogy ripped my heart out then placed it back and gently stitched it back together with all the care in the world.
I don’t know a couple more deserving of happily ever after than these two! Seeing their growth individually and together is so inspiring. They ARE SPIICCYY too!
Jackie is an absolute must read author for me. I read this series on KU but I will also bring buying the series in physical copy!!
Book 3! Yes, I have been waiting for Lettie and Tomer to have their quiet time. Life for these two has been so chaotic, full of danger and secrets. Now everything is out in the open. Lettie has met her father, and she is back with Tomer, ready to start the next chapter of their lives. But are they really? Now they face the danger and darkness where Tomer finally gets the redemption he deserves. I love this couple! They have made it through every conceivable thing, and now are facing the most wonderful parts of life together. Jackie Walker is a phenomenal romantic suspense author, keeping the thrills building and the spice hot! The Redleg family is one I love to visit with, and getting to know these two has just been icing on the cake.
Aaron Shedlock and Kesley Navarro Foster come through with an amazing finish to this trilogy. Shedlock knows Tomer, has his personality down and uses the inflections in his voice to give him the vulnerability he feels and the bravery he shows. Foster keeps Lettie strong and spunky, and each scene grows with confidence. I have enjoyed these two as they bring it all to life and give me hours of enjoyment.
The HEA these characters deserve! Kelsey Navvaro Foster and Aaron Shedlock bring all the feels to the resolution of this trilogy. I tend to switch back and forth from e reader to audio and even when I'm reading I hear the narrator's voices. This sweet and spicy story of healing will leave you breathless with laughter and wonder.
The MMC and FMC have such good character arcs in this trilogy. I'm glad that the MMC finally gets to speak his peace and also is fully appreciated by everyone on the team. The FMC gets the peace she deserves after all of the crap she's been through. You really need to read the full trilogy, this book cannot be read as a stand alone.
It was a long time coming for Tomer and Lettie.....Big Al too for where they're concerned. Wow....All the feels. I don't cry for books but this one got me. The love, trust and family.....the mystery, spice and humor. This one has it all. One of my favorite couples in this series, right next to Leo and Sue (maybe a little ahead.). I 100% recommend this book and series.
