At least, that's what Mom always says. Dreams never put food on the table, but hard work did. For years I’ve watched her work herself to the bone, fighting every day just to make ends meet. I used to be content with spending all of my time on school and work, preparing for the future that my mom never had. But ever since I met Zach, I can't help wanting more.
Every minute with him feels like a dream, and I can't help worrying I'll wake up one morning and find that the fairytale has come to an end. But Zach is a lot more than just some gorgeous rich guy who takes me on adventures in his private plane, and the more he lets me in on his secrets, the more I fall for the sweet, caring man who's fighting to hold his family together.
Zach’s problems are a hell of a lot bigger than my worries about scholarships and student loans, and as much as it terrifies me, I can't let him go through it on his own.
I've never really believed a prince would come save me. But maybe I could be the one to rescue him.
*This is a YA/NA Cinderella-inspired romance. It is part of the Fairview Fairy Tales series, which can be enjoyed in any order.
**The Fairview Fairy Tales series straddles the line of YA/NA. Some couples will have sex on the page, some will be dealing with BIG, adult challenges. ALL of them have sweet, swoony romances that will leave you begging for more!

This is a very loose contemporary fairytale adaptation about the rich teenaged son of a politician, and the poor, hard-working daughter of a single mother.
They meet at her workplace, where he tries to buy a bunch of gourmet cupcakes as a bribe for his sister's gymnastics peers. Our FMC is sassy (she would never spend $4 on a cupcake), and our MMC is charmed. He asks her on a date, and the rest is history.
Throw in a cute younger sister, who our prince is practically raising, some abusive and neglectful parents as a complication, but there aren't any evil step-parents or step-sisters in this version.
Content warning: - parental neglect is depicted, as well as domestic violence between the parents. - this is YA but right at the end, they throw in one (or maybe two?) sex scenes. This is not something I would recommend for teens. - there is a same-sex couple (the MMC's older brother and his husband), but they don't appear until the end of the book, and they don't play a large role in the story.
I finished reading this a few days ago and there wasn’t anything particularly memorable, so it was just okay. Characters were likeable enough, even if not very believable.
Most of the book read like a clean young-ish ya, but then there were some sex scenes thrown in and the balance felt a little off.
Much better than the first book in the series, and since they’re standalones I’d recommend starting with this one.
A sweet retelling of Cinderella. In this beautiful retelling of Cinderella, Ella and Zach's journey will keep you eagerly turning pages, desperate to reach their happily-ever-after. As the second book of this series, it will have you questioning how Zach can handle it all and keep their love alive. A really enjoyable read.
