Road to Hell #1

Dance with the Devil

Rate this book
Charlie Brant has spent the last five years rebuilding the shattered remnants of her life. She lost her career, her husband, and some would say her sanity following a vicious attack by an animal no one else saw. Turns out people don't really trust you with a badge when they think you're crazy. Years later, she's managed to create at least an illusion of normalcy.

Then he walked in. Handsome, flirtatious, annoying... He also just happened to be the King of Hell. How apropos considering the absolute hellscape her life had become.

Lucifer may have been self-involved, older than morality itself, and more than a little jaded, but he could also see something spectacular when he saw it—and he saw it in Charlie. Every single night when he visited her dreams. She was amusing, enigmatic, and shockingly compassionate when she thought no one else was looking. He had to admit he found himself excited whenever he got to join her in the dream world.

In reality, however, she was a little trickier to impress... and came with one hell of a temper.

Lucifer would have been content to just spend his days figuring out how to get past her defenses, but the strangely coincidental arrival of his brother, Michael, proves to be more than just a bothersome visit. While he only wants to get closer to Charlie, his brother has been sent on a holy mission to keep them apart and he will use any means necessary—even offer her a part of her past she thought she had lost forever.

What no one expected was that something else would be awakened in her. Or that the consequence of that awakening could signal the beginning of the end.

Overall Rating: 4.5 out of 5
Spice Rating: 2 out of 5

Pros:
- Multiple POVs. More than two.
- Lucifer... just. Drown me in Lucifer will you?! I love his character so much. He's so sarcastic and hot tempered and obviously morally gray.
- Spicy scenes were so tastefully written. No words gave me the ick, and everything was easy to keep track of (if you catch my drift).
- The plot is fun and well thought out. At no point was I confused on how we got somewhere, what was happening or straining my brain to visualize the scenes.
- The world building was paced well too. It wasn't an onslaught of information right away they expected you to remember. It slowly built upon itself at the right moments.
- Charlie was so easy to get into reading. She's fierce, also sarcastic, and like any good character, has weaknesses.
- Perfect plot pacing and such wonderful writing. I was laughing out loud, smooshing my fist and giggling at my kindle.
- I've never read a book written by two people that didn't clearly feel written by two people. I was so thrilled that this didn't fall into the later.

Cons:
- Not a huge deal, but I can see the POV switches causing confusion for some; they are not noted in any way, they just sorta happen. It wasn't alarming when it'd happen though. They always felt seamless with the plot.
-This isn't really a con.... I just wanted MORE. More witty banter moments. More exploration of hell. More Lucifer & Charlie. Moreeeee of everything. Lol.

Leftover Thoughts:
I'm left with SO MANY QUESTIONS that I hope are answered in the rest of the series. I also don't typically enjoy saying "if you liked (blank) then you'll like this"... but I have to this time. If you liked Supernatural, you'll love this.

“Dance with the Devil” is what happens when you mix heavenly betrayal, hellish charm, and one woman who’s just trying to survive both her past and Lucifer showing up like a tall, smirking problem in a tailored suit. 😈💔🔥

Charlotte’s trying to get her life together post-career, post-marriage, possibly mid-nervous breakdown—and then boom: Lucifer. Not a metaphor. The actual King of Hell. And somehow, he’s the reasonable one?? Meanwhile, an Archangel is out here causing chaos with a god complex and emotional manipulation in a trench coat.

It’s spicy, emotional, and absolutely unholy in the best way. One moment I was swooning, the next I was yelling, “Charlie, babe, RUN—but also maybe kiss him first?” The slow burn nearly killed me, the angst resurrected me, and the moral ambiguity fed my soul. 🖤🪽🕯️

This book, man! Woooo 😮‍💨😮‍💨 What a read!!!

So basically- the authors gave this masterpiece of a book spins from what I felt the show Lucifer, monster hunting and a few other aspects (Like supernatural) a little bit of Hades/persephone/ Greek god type vibe. Battle between angels and demons. And something darker on the horizon!

This book will suck you in as you read of the main female character Charlie - her life in shambles after an attack 5 years prior. So much happened to her. Her life couldn't have taken bigger twists!

Que in Lucifer. Yes, the Devil himself. King of Hell. Charismatic, mysterious, and, of course, thrillingly powerful! A force to be reckoned with. (Think Tom Ellis as Lucifer 😏)

Finding interest in Charlie, he quickly becomes apart of her life despite the pushback from her.
As a storm broadens on the horizon, he wants to do everything he can to protect Charlie.

Quite a journey!!!

This book is hands down a great read! I didn't want to put it down!

Dance With The Devil - Madison Chase is a wonderful paranormal fantasy romance! It took me for a wild ride. The FMC is strong and hardheaded and I enjoyed the mental health representation. MMC(Lucifer) is snarky and sarcastic and everything you'd think the Devil himself would be! It has multiple POVs and is told in 3rd person and I think that helped express how each character experienced and felt throughout. I loved the world building and twists and surprises in the storyline. A few times I was like whaaaattt?! It has a lovely combination of betrayal, lust and banter. The epilogue has me beyond intrigued and I cannot wait for the next book because I desperately need to know who's talking in that part.

I didn't have any complaints about this one. Except that it felt unfinished. The story needed MORE! There are so many questions. I did feel like there was a Hades/Persephone comparison so I really liked that. The story does flow pretty well in that I didn't have questions about how we got from point A to Point B. There are religious liberties taken, so take it all with a grain of salt if that bothers you. It does end with a cliffhanger, so heads up for that. Abbadon and Asphodel were a hoot. Great side characters that moved the story along without getting in the way.

I definitely need the second book asap. This was such a great story. A twist to the usual angels and devil back story. It answered so many questions I had during, but left me with so many more questions at the end. Angels demons gods humans other monster we don't know yet. The love triangle and trauma was intense I didn't know which way she would go and when. He Falls First and I love that. The good vs evil wondering who was actually good and were the the ones portrayed as evil really evil. I want to know more, it left me with too many questions. Loved it and will continue reading when the next story comes.

I am confused about this story and feel like it left me with lots of questions!

There is some steam at times which was fine that it wasn’t a ton- this story I think didn’t need it despite the devil aspect!

I am hoping that another book will be coming after that “finishes” off the questions and wraps it up in a nice little package.

I have to say Charli and Lucifer are really good together! The side characters also were interesting and at times fun/funny and some made me want to give em a smack! 🤷🏻‍♀️🤭

This book did take me a bit to get into as it was a slow start. I also kept getting caught up on how similar it was to the show Lucifer which I loved but it would take me to the show in my head, not the book.

I did enjoy the cross of Lucifer and Hades/Persephone vibes and I really liked Lucifer and Charlie together.

Asmodeus and Abaddon were fun to read about I really like when side charters are enjoyable 😅

I liked this book. It did take me a little bit to get into it, but once it got going it had me hooked. I liked the twist that was put on the classic “angels and demons, good vs. evil”. Charlie has been through it, but deals with most everything surprisingly well. She’s resilient and strong willed. Lucifer is the charming devil that you expect him to be; but you can tell that there is more to him that he’s keeping under the surface. I thought the dream meetings between them were a really cool aspect of the story; I just wish there had maybe been more mention or explanation of them than there were. I feel like the author did a good job with the world and story building, setting up for the continuation of the series. I do feel like the story could have progressed a little farther; but overall it was a good read that I enjoyed.

Great world and character building. This story has you begging for more. Not your typical angels and demons retelling. This book will have you second-guessing everything you thought you knew about good versus evil. You may even start rooting for the devil himself!
This story follows Charlie, a woman who lost everything from an attack by an animal only she saw. Now, she's trying to rebuild her life in her new normal. In walks Lucifer, the devil himself, to shake things up and make her question so many things.
I couldn't stop reading waiting anxiously for things to fall into place! Riveting read!

"He called me crazy, so I showed him crazy," Charlie said with a smile.

This book is funny and the main Charlie, she is a strong-willed ex cop. While reading it, it did remind me of the movie Contantine between demons and angels. When Lucifer told her "I can make your fantasy come true " woo... it's a good book

Highly recommend!

I wasn’t sure what I was getting into when I received this book but let me tell you I loved it! The character build was amazing. I do wish there was a little more background I had a few questions left unanswered but I presume that’s meant to be that way to leave room for the possibility of a second book!! All in all I loved the book Charlie is definitely a spitfire and Luci definitely became one of my favorite characters from my recent reads!!

Dance With The Devil
Road to Hell Bk. 1
Madison Chase
Narration by: Vin
Special Guest Mariana Olmeda

Charlotte lost everything she built, he was built to lose everything, and the Heavens themselves are duty-bound to keep them apart.

Charlotte Brant, former detective and present-day pariah, has been rebuilding her life following the attack that cost her a job, a marriage, and possibly her sanity. When the King of Hell inserts himself into her life—all dark, handsome, and aggravating – it does her no favours in her efforts to regain some normalcy.

Especially when an Archangel is on a holy mission to keep them apart by any means necessary – even offering her what she thought she lost forever.

Dance with the Devil is an angels and demons urban fantasy novel that incorporates Mythological Re-imaginings and slow-burn romance between characters who seem so different on the surface, but connect through their struggles with betrayal and loss of identity.

YOU'RE MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS!!! Please read and pay close attention to the trigger warnings at the beginning of this book. There is some content and scenes in this book that are not suitable for all readers and could be triggering for others. Always remember that your mental health comes first at all times. Reader discretion is advised. Intended for readers 18+.

Dance with the Devil is the 1st audio book in the Road to Hell Series written by Madison Chase and Narrated by Vin and Special Guest Marina Olmeda.

Mythology, romance, and grit are all things that Madison Chase has perfectly woven together in this book.

Charlotte was once a detective, and now she's nothing more than just a living pariah. She's just trying to do her best to rebuild her life after the catastrophic loss. Suddenly Lucifer (The King of Hell) crashes into her life – a dark, magnetic, and an aggravating guy who Charlotte wishes she could get rid of – and while Charlotte is dealing with Lucifer there's an Archangel interfering from above. This is the perfect setup that is brimming with conflict, and its a conflict that is both internal, external, and cosmic.

I fell in love with the way that Vin and Mariana Olmeda gave distinct voices to each character, there was never a moment that Charlotte felt flat, Lucifer's tone always managed to be charming all the time while at the same time he was menacing. Dance with the Devil is one of those very special audio books that makes you feel like you are watching a movie or a TV show.

I loved the tone of this audio book, it was dark and sexy layered with just enough danger to keep you on your toes. When you start this audio book you get dropped into this world that already has these scars and is layered with bad decisions, and you are are left to piece everything together right along with Charlotte.

All of our characters from Lucifer to Charlotte to our secondary characters are carrying scars of their own – both psychological and emotional – and Madison did this amazing and tactful job of writing the consequences of the scars our characters are carrying. We have the chance to see the push and pull the characters are fighting with for their own self-preservation. Threaded through all these bigger conflicts in this story are themes of betrayal, identity, and the consequences of losing control. The way that Madison wrote the romance was stunning and she wrote it perfectly as she made it difficult and hard; it's complicated, a complete and total mess, it's raw, and yet at the same time it feels so completely natural and Madison made this relationship feel authentic.

I did find the mythology a bit complex at times – and I did have to go back and re-listen certain parts to recall what faction was what. This is such an ambitious story but there were a few places that the mythology did lead towards confusion.

Simplified I found that Charlotte got caught between Lucifer the King of Hell who is in this story portrayed as this misunderstood victim and then we have on the other hand the Archangel Michael who in this story is wearing the helm of villainy. It's really a thought provoking layer to the story.

This is a story that is going to grab you from the very beginning, enthrall you through the entire story and not let you go till the very end of the audio book. If you enjoy a great audio book that is going to keep your attention and not let you go till the very end then this is a great audio book to add to your TBL.

I don’t want to get all philosophical here, but I couldn’t help mulling over the deliciously subversive twist at the heart of this story that portrays the King of Hell cast as a misunderstood victim, while the Archangel Michael wears the mantle of villainy. A metaphor for our upside-down world, perhaps? Whether intentional or not, it’s a thought-provoking layer in what is otherwise a rip-roaring, high-octane urban fantasy that grabs you from page one and doesn’t let go. Our heroine, Charlotte—Charlie to her friends—is an ex-cop whose life derailed spectacularly after a traumatic encounter with the supernatural left her shaken and discredited. Five years later, she’s finally starting to piece her life back together when a dangerously charming man strolls into her office asking her to help him find his dog. Sounds simple, right? Spoiler: it’s anything but. That man? None other than Lucifer Morningstar himself—yes, that Lucifer—who’s been haunting Charlie’s dreams ever since “the incident.” She doesn’t remember their dreamtime encounters, but he does. Oh, he definitely does. And now that fate (or something darker) has brought them together in the waking world, his fascination deepens. But when his ever-righteous brother Michael starts sniffing around Charlie, Lucifer does the only sensible thing: whisks her off to Hell. And here’s the kicker, it’s not the fire-and-brimstone nightmare she expected. In fact, it’s the first place she’s felt safe in years. The devil’s digs are surprisingly homey, and even the Archdemons are… well, civil. Sort of. I especially liked Asmodeus, the fabulously fluid, gender-bending Prince of Lust, whose verbal sparring with prideful Abaddon had me laughing out loud. Their eons-old bickering is the kind of witty gold that makes side characters shine. For those of you who’ve seen the series, Lucifer practically leaps off the page with his Tom Ellis-esque charm—equal parts suave and sinister, with that ever-present hint of danger to remind you exactly who he is. It’s that edge, that tension between protector and predator, that makes his relationship with Charlie so compelling. The real twist here is not who the “bad guy” is, but how blurred the lines between good and evil become when celestial politics and human hearts collide. And then there’s Charlie. Gritty, smart, and fiercely resilient. Despite everything she’s lost, she keeps moving forward, unraveling truths most mortals would run screaming from. She’s the kind of protagonist you root for. Broken, yes, but never beaten. This is clearly just the beginning of something much bigger, and I, for one, am already dying to dive into the next installment. Urban fantasy fans: this one’s a must-read.

This is the first audiobook in the “Dance with the Devil” and the narrators did such a wonderful job. The story is engaging from start to finish and doesn't drag. I'm not so much of a listener because usually my attention span is short - however, this one surprisingly held mine throughout the plotline.

Charlotte is our clever FMC, whose life took a left turn after a particularly traumatic happenstance with the supernatural, leaving her looking discredited/dishonoured as a cop and her shaken, scared, and helpless. Only five years later, she's now able to piece back her broken life back together when a charming and captivating man saunters in her office. And does he ask? He would like her to find his dog. Yes, dog. Meet our MMC and King of Hell, Lucifer - yes, the hawt ass Devil himself. He's been haunting her dreams since that significant incident. He's powerful, alluring, charismatic, and very protective over Charlotte, even fascinated by her. But when Archangel Michael becomes intrigued by her, Lucifer whisks her off to Hell, where she witnesses first how the dark realm really is like...

I loved that she was very strong and fierce after all despite her struggles and strife, and their banter was fun. And Asmodeus and Abaddon were so fun, honestly. The villainous role of Arch Michael is interesting because he's portrayed in a chaotic way - it's so compelling and different. What I most appreciate about the FMC is that she doesn't give up despite all she suffers and loses, and instead, preservers through it. She's got a strong mind and a character you look up to. The MMC is so f*cking dark and handsome, oh my gosh, I am obsessed with him. Anyway, his backstory has a unique twist, and Charlotte ends up having powers? Hello? I need more info!

It's a slow-burn, dark romance vibe and ends on a cliff-hanger. There is spice and angst, emotional rollercoasters and betrayal, conflict over Good vs. Evil, clash between angels and demons, sarcasm and banter, surprising twists along the way, and more. The world building is intriguing and very well done, and the plotline flows smoothly. I am left with a few questions, but those are hopefully answered in the next installment.

I love a good lucifer, religion on its head type read, so this was an obvious want to jump into for me.
The book has a bit of a slow start, but I immediately liked Lucifer. He's a great character, and I enjoyed any time he was on page.
Charlie, our FMC, had a lot of qualities I like but could be a bit frustrating as someone who was police. She asks very few questions! Stuff happens to her 24/7, but she's all whatever, go with the flow, I don't need to ask a question, be shocked, or investigate this, lol. Then she goes on to make bad choices. Poor Lucifer 😂

I like the hades/persephone aspects to the story, but I just wish more happened. The side characters are great and have good personalities, which I would have loved more of. I just wanted more generally is the best way I can explain it. I know it's a series, but it needed something big or deeper to happen. I wanted their relationship to be a relationship with depth.

I love the fact that this book is multiple POV, it's something I do read alot of as I often read why choose. The downside to that in this book is the changes are not noted in any way, and because the narrator runs sentences into each other, you can feel lost.
This was also a bit of an issue with Charlie's thoughts v what's she's saying out loud. I'm not sure if it's a narration issue or writing style. I will say I read exclusively audio, and this was not my favourite narration regardless of writing, which is a real shame.

It's a hard one to rate as I liked the characters a lot, and they have so much potential! The bare bones of the book were there, the plot peeked through, and it was good! There was just so much not expanded on, and like other reviewers I wanted and needed more answers/depth/plot. It was just missing that connection for me. If any of the characters had been killed, I would not have been bothered, which was sad for me.

It wasn't a bad book by any means. It was an enjoyable read, but it was not a stay with me, i dont want it to end read either. Will I carry on with book two when it gets an audio book? If it's not too long, then yes, as I like these authors, and I can see so much promise in the book and characters.

I would like to thank the authors for the ALC.

Audio Narration - Vin & Special Guest Mariana Olmeda

I also LOVED the narration bloopers as the end, a very original idea, which was fun.

Madison Chase weaves together mythology, romance, and grit. The premise is strong: Charlotte Brant, once a detective, is trying to rebuild her life after catastrophic losses. Then Lucifer (the King of Hell) crashes in—dark, magnetic, and aggravating—while an Archangel interferes from above. It’s a setup brimming with conflict, both internal and cosmic.

The narrator gives distinct inflections to each persona, so Charlotte never feels flat—and Lucifer’s tone manages to be both charming and menacing at the same time. It’s one of those audiobooks that feels like you’re watching a movie in your head. The tone is dark and sexy, with enough danger to keep you alert. You’re dropped into a world that already has scars and bad decisions, and you piece things together alongside Charlotte.

Charlotte (and other characters) carry real scars—psychological and emotional—and the story doesn’t shy away from the consequences. There’s a constant push and pull between desire and self-preservation, threaded through bigger conflicts about identity, betrayal, and what it means to lose control. The romance isn’t easy; it’s messy and raw in a way that feels authentic.

There are a few times in the middle where the pacing slows down. Some scenes feel like bridges meant more to stall time than to push the plot forward. The mythology can also get a bit complex—at times I found myself backtracking to remember which faction was which. It’s ambitious, but that ambition sometimes edges toward confusion.

Since this is Book 1 of the Road to Hell series, a few threads are left hanging. Still, it’s satisfying in setup and leaves you wanting to know what happens next.

Overall, I’d give it about a 4 out of 5. It’s emotional, dark, and a bit steamy, with characters you actually care about. If you like urban fantasy or slow-burn romance with some grit and heart, this audiobook is definitely worth a listen.

📖 “…his heart might claw its way from his chest just to let her touch it.”

Want a VIP-class ticket straight to Hell? Buckle up - Dance with the Devil is the 1st book in A Road to Hell series, and it’s one hell of a ride! 💫
At first, I was a bit skeptical about yet another Lucifer retelling, but… wow. I wish I could unread it just to experience it fresh again! 😈🖤
♟ The worldbuilding? Easy to follow, but as it’s just the first book, it feels like we’re on a journey before this universe truly blooms. Still, it’s alluring!
♟ The writing? Flawless. My eyes and brain were practically racing each other to keep up. 😄
♟ The characters? Obsessed. Charlotte, Lucifer, Asmodeus, Abaddon - love them all. Brian and Carmen? Jury’s still out. 🤔
And Carlie? She just made my list of favourite FMCs 🌷 A complete chaos - sarcastic, brave, carrying a hard past, yet full of heart and surprises. And The Devil Himself? Handsome. Absolute perfection.🔥 The building relationship between them really felt like the title of the book - a dance.
Overall, this book is light, fun, and easy to devour. I had a grin on my face the whole time. My only gripe? The third-person POV threw me off a couple of times - it’s great for the bigger picture but occasionally left me wondering who said what to whom. 🙈
That said - I’m so glad I got to dive into this universe!

I snagged "Dance with the Devil" when I was sharing a booth with the authors at a local horror convention. Boy, am I glad I did. It was a very entertaining read.

I've been a fan of the TV show "Lucifer" and of the Anita Blake books by Laurell K Hamilton. "Dance" feels like those two had some kind of wicked baby. I loved the interplay between the characters and the strong personalities and quirks they all exhibited. The hints of some great dark conspiracy lingering around the periphery were super intriguing, and that epilogue was a stunner!

Overall the writing was very well done. For the kind of story this is, the shifting of multiple POVs made sense – I think we cycled through four different characters overall. There were a few times when that got a little muddled, but it was incidental at best. I had no troubles following each character's perspective.

I loved the mythology and backstory for Lucifer, and the unique twist on what everyone thinks they know about his fall. In addition, I am extremely curious about the powers that Charlotte has manifested so far and I can't wait to find out more. Asmodeus and Abaddon almost stole the show for me, and I hope we get to see more of them later on. The scenes set in Lucifer's palace were some of my favorites in the book.

I cannot wait to see this story continue. In the meantime, I'll have to content myself with the other book set in this universe. Super stoked to see if I can spot any crossovers.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/ 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Madison Chase deliver a book that is a perfect mix of romance and supernatural. If you enjoyed the show Lucifer and wanted a book like that, this one may be for you.

Charlie is resilient, headstrong, and determined. Having built her life back from complete wreckage, she is finally feeling “normal” again. Having your life ruined by something no one else saw wasn’t how she expected her life to be, but here she is making the best of it.

Lucifer, yep, THAT Lucifer is completely taken by Charlie. Having only visited her in her dreams thus far, he thought meeting her in real life would be easy. Ha! Turns out Charlie isn’t quite as taken with the devil himself when he’s in the flesh.

The story is hot, heated, full of witty banter, and so much tension! And it just gets better when Michael, Lucifer’s brother, shows up with a mission to keep him and Charlie apart. However, these two miss that there is something else looming inside of Charlie and once it’s awakened, it may be to late.

This book was fun to read and not what I was expecting, but in the best way possible. Madison Chase wrote a wonderful book and I can’t wait for the next one.

As always, review any author notes before reading.

The plot of this one was fairly decent. I love Lucifer as a character, not just in this book but also just in general. He seems like a pretty fun and chill dude. I also liked Charlie's character and her whole dynamic and backstory.

However, I do feel that the way the story is presented is somewhat confusing. Most of the plot points seemed so rushed and thrown together that half the time, I had no idea what was happening.

The FMC has so many crazy things happen to her in the span of just a day, but she goes with the flow and doesn't really question anything. Literally, girl, why are you not asking questions? I was asking questions. None of them got answered, though, and I kind of just stopped caring.

There were also many typos, grammatical errors, incomplete sentences, and sudden POV shifts that were out of place (it's supposed to be third-person limited, but then we randomly get the direct thoughts of another character). This very much felt like reading a first draft.

I did find the plot interesting and different from all the other urban fantasy books circulating at the moment, but I did hear that this one is very similar to the plot of the show Lucifer. I haven't watched the show, so I can't really compare, but this did read like fanfic, so I wouldn't be surprised if it had been heavily inspired by it.

This book was brought to my attention via social media and I am so happy it was recommended to me because it has so many things I enjoy from a good paranormal romance. Strong women, morally grey men, angels, demons, and religious lore - I was so down!

The FMC Charlie is strong-willed and hardheaded, but at the same time has this vulnerable side to her and I appreciated the mental health representation we got through her. She was a fantastic FMC and I am excited to learn more about her and the mystery surrounding who or what she is. I liked the Persephone/Hades vibe she and Lucifer had going on.

MMC Lucifer was… well Lucifer. He was snarky as hell (pun intended) and I enjoyed the banter between him and Charlie, as well as the other characters he interacted with. I also really liked the reimagining of how he fell from grace. This new, alternate backstory made it easy to sympathize with the devil, and his blatant affection for Charlie showed his soft, caring side.

I liked all the side characters - but I adored Asmodeus and Abaddon especially. They were fun and hilarious - I hope we get to spend more time with them in the sequel!

The book built up a lot of questions and I cannot wait for the sequel to finally get the answers! Fantastic job!

You know that feeling when you start a book and it's so good you can't put it down? That's Dance with the Devil by Madison Chase.
A brilliant blend of urban fantasy, mythology, and romance, Madison Chase's Dance with the Devil is a captivating read. It follows Charlotte Brant, a former detective trying to rebuild her life, whose path collides with a devilishly handsome King of Hell and a determined Archangel. This novel brilliantly reimagines the classic Lucifer story, with a unique twist on his fall from grace that will hook you in.
The characters are the heart of this story. Charlotte is a relatable and strong female lead, and her chemistry with Lucifer is undeniable. The side characters, like Asmodeus and Abaddon, are equally intriguing and almost steal the show. The author expertly shifts between multiple character perspectives, offering a rich and nuanced look into their world. While it gets a bit muddled at times, it's a minor point in an otherwise seamless narrative.
Fans of the TV show Lucifer or the Anita Blake books will find this novel right up their alley. It has all the elements you could want: romance, action, fantasy, and a healthy dose of humor. The hints of a larger conspiracy and that stunning epilogue left me desperate for the next book.

Book - Dance with the Devil
Author - Madison Chase

This is a paranormal romance between the devil and a human who might not be all human...

A slow burn book, can be a little confusing if you aren't paying attention, I got hooked on this book! Angels and Demons, good vs bad type read.

Luficer - Is the expected charming Devil, we see  him portrayed as, although there is something not just witty but loveable about him.
His home in "hell" isn't described as all hell fire and raging demons roaming around. There is a bit more class about it.

Charlie - Is an ex cop, who had alot of trauma from being attacked by something that isn't from this realm, her now ex husband left her and she was left to deal with the attack, no husband and now no job.
Charlie was taken down to the underworld, where she could see the difference from what she learnt to what it really is. She finds out that Lucifers hellhound attacked her, not on purpose..
She literally did dance with the Devil.

I loved this book, it was different and quirky, it kept me hooked! The writing style of this author is beautiful! I would reccomend this novel.

Dance with the Devil follows the story of Charlotte, referred to as Charlie, a former detective rebuilding her life after an attack turned her world upside down five years ago. Just as things begin to settle into a new rhythm, she meets Lucifer and everything changes once again.

This paranormal fantasy is packed with tension, twists, and just enough spice to keep you hooked. There are genuine laugh-out-loud moments and, honestly, the authors deserve a special shout-out for that mirror scene!

The ending delivers perfectly leaving you eager for the next book without relying on a frustrating cliffhanger.

The characters are both likable and relatable, and the plot is captivating. The pacing has a few uneven spots. In some sections feel a touch rushed while others linger, but overall, it strikes a solid balance. Dance with the Devil is an engaging, entertaining read that keeps you wanting more.

The narration is smooth and well paced. The actor does a great job with the different voices and placing unique inflection in each of the different voices.

I received an advanced listener copy and this is my fair and honest review.

That is a really good book! ❤️🔥🤩
I got so involed in the story that I couldn't put the book away and read it in a literally one sitting!
🔸️The story is a mix of genres. It has elements of paranormal, urban fantasy and pure fantasy.
🔸️There is mystery, action, adventure, power intrigue and romance. The author took some inspiration from "Lucifer" TV series, but the story develops in a totally different way. 😉
🔸️The book is a multiple POV (not only MCs but also side characters) and it must be said that ALL characters are quite complex and well developed and it was a real pleasure to get so many insights. Well done!
🔸️As per plot, nothing is black or white. Dreams mix with reality, truth is mixed with lies. There is sacrifice, deception, hard choices, manipulation and betrayal.
🔸️The book is very well written and executed at top level.
🔸️I was captivated by the story and enjoyed reading from the very first page till the very last one.
Can't wait to read next part!

Are you looking for a book that will make you question your sanity??

Dance with the Devil will make you wonder why the Devil himself sounds so good. 😈

Charlie Brent, she was a great cop, married and had everything going for her.. till it wasn’t.

Charlie’s whole life turned upside down in an instant. Fired, Divorced, town crazy..

She had no idea why her life suddenly changed, but when she met the Devil she couldn’t believe the nonsense he was speaking.. especially when he invaded her dreams.

Charlie couldn’t believe she met the actual Lucifer Morningstar himself she didn’t take him seriously till he showed her just how serious he actually is.

Who would have thought Mr. Morningstar himself could be so hot 🥵 and pull at your heart at the same time!?!

If you enjoyed the Netflix Series Lucifer, this would be a great book for you! If Angels and Demons are a bother for you. Then this book is not for you.

*** Fair warning, the beginning of the book is slightly slow to get into. BUT please keep reading as the book will hook you after chapter 4.***

Happy reading friends ☺️🖤
