I decided to read this book because it was highly rated and was recommended in a list of books to read in your 20s.
However I have a hard time even giving it 3 stars. The first 5 chapters was the same information just being repeated often times not even changing the wording or reconnecting it to the “topic” of the chapter.
Though out this book I had to stop and just make sure I wasn’t reading the same page repeatedly.
The later chapters did have some helpful information and gave some different insights to feminine energy that I haven’t heard yet. I just cannot move past the fact that I felt that over 80% of the book was just the same information being repeated.

There’s something both ancient and newly alive about Abigail Brooks’ “Divine Feminine Energy.” It feels like a book written for a generation remembering what our grandmothers were made to forget- that softness is strength, intuition is intelligence, and healing doesn’t always look like striving.

From the first pages, Brooks extends an open-armed invitation into the world of sacred femininity: a space that isn’t about gender roles or surface aesthetics, but about reclaiming the pieces of ourselves we’ve been taught to suppress. She weaves together goddess energy, inner-child healing, and the art of returning to your own rhythm- a trinity that will feel familiar to anyone walking a path of self-restoration and emotional reclamation.

What stood out most to me was the tenderness in her approach. Brooks doesn’t preach from a pedestal; she speaks like a sister, a guide who has walked through the same thorns. Her tone is gentle, yet assured, moving between affirmations, reflections, and practical steps. You’ll find sections on healing childhood wounds, breaking myths around femininity, and embodying cyclical balance- and though some chapters overlap in theme, the repetition begins to feel more like mantra than redundancy.

There’s a softness here that invites presence rather than perfection. Brooks reminds us that reconnecting with our feminine essence isn’t about becoming more of something, but about remembering what’s already been there. In a culture obsessed with output and performance, this book becomes a mirror of stillness- a quiet permission slip to simply be.

If you’re someone who’s already knee-deep in shadow work or trauma healing, some parts may feel introductory. But for those seeking to bridge spirituality with emotional recovery- or to approach healing through ritual, embodiment, and heart-centered awareness- “Divine Feminine Energy” will feel like a companion, not a manual.

Reading this book felt like sitting cross-legged on a yoga bolster with a cup of tea and my journal open beside me, tracing the ways I’ve learned to hide softness and the moments I dared to show it anyway. It made me want to slow down, light a candle, and remember the girl I lost to the shadows- the one who believed her gentleness was something to protect rather than a force to live by.

Gives steps and actions to help you step into your divine feminine energy from affirmations to rituals and creating sacred spaces.
Gave 4 stars because the book starts to repeat itself.

I found this book very helpful !! One of the better I’ve read in giving tips to apply practice to every day life. Now off to prepare my sacred space.
