A group of Indie Authors came together to make this anthology for Drew and honored him by putting his story in first and his story featured, “Nazarath” was also the beginning of Godless Horror. What an amazing way to honor Drew! This anthology was a blast to get through and every story is so different from one another. It was like opening a box of chocolates. A surprise in every story.

Nazarath by Drew Stepek
This was such a sad story! I didn’t expect a tear jerker in this collection and was totally thrown off guard but it was also beautiful. This isn’t a horror story. D is in his senior year of high school and the town is falling to pieces. He’s constantly being tested by friends, enemies and his faith.

Absolutely loved this story!!!

The Green Cooter by Asher Dark
Oh Asher 🤣🤣 she never fails to crack me up while simultaneously making me gag! I got to read this little gem awhile back before it got placed anywhere and I’m happy to see it has a home now.

A woman getting her freak on in the bathroom stall at a club with some rando is thoroughly disappointed with his performance and notices green goo leaking from her vag. From here on this story goes fully unhinged.

The Beast Within by Carietta Dorsch

I always enjoy Carietta’s stories. She’s so talented when it comes to writing. Even more so writing about serial killers.

Spruce Pine has a monster lurking in the shadows of the night. However, this is no monster creature but sometimes the biggest monster of all is human…

Sea Foam by Judith Sonnet
I fucking love sea horror and this story was quite the catch for me😉

I can’t say too much without giving anything away but this story is about local surfers who discover a mermaid!

Heavy Flow by Jason Nickey
The title speaks for itself in this body horror tale. This was terrifying.

Dunk the Dick by Chisto Healy
Fucking FOUL. I read this while having Covid and I was struggling 😂 I suppose that’s my own fault. I should’ve known better with Chisto 😂💀 He writes the most vomit inducing stories involving poop I swear. You win. lol

The Kill Rooms by Nick Scarbrough
Nick are you okay? You have pent up rage too? lol nah but fr this story was BRUTAL and I loved the concept. A rage room on steroids…

Mister Moonlight by Dan Shrader
KITTIES. That is all.

Eaten and Stuffed by Chuck Nasty
Necrophilia, Cannibalism and Murder. What more can ya ask for?

The Head by Harrison Phillips
Kara wakes up from a drug induced stupor inside a Dr’s Laboratory. She quickly realizes that she’s his next “experiment.”

I love reading Harrison Phillips stories. They’re always bloody and brutal and I love the scientific spin on this!

The Itch by Mark Towse
A man wakes up super itchy and can’t seem to satisfy the itch. Meanwhile there’s a terrorist attack in the city.

This was a solid crawly body horror story

The Bone Garden by C.A. Baynam
In these woods, nobody’s safe.

C.A. Baynam always tells the best occult/ritualistic/witchy stories. This one spooked me and gave me super eerie vibes throughout.

Herman’s Windchimes by Thomas Stewart
Herman really hates windchimes😂 his fixation on them drives him mad…

Heads, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes by K.L. Allister
Meet the parents turns MORBID af.

I’ve enjoyed every story I’ve read from Allister thus far. This one might be my fave in the entire anthology!

How To Torture Your Cheating Husband without Breaking the Bank by Nora B. Peevy
Exactly what you think it would be. Be careful if you plan to act on this guideline…

No Good Dead Goes Unpunished by Cat Voleur
This was a good paranormal horror short. A mysterious fire uncovers some rather surprising secrets.

Meat Corridors by Michael R. Collins
Teleportation is beyond VISCERAL in this story. Holy cow. 🤯

Bare Bones by Matthew J. Gleason
This one was wild af and had me questioning many things. lol Matthew’s stories are always entertaining.

Lilith’s Flower by Christy Aldridge
Welp this one might make you think twice before using your “me time” toys ladies😬

Haha this was a fun one even though it was horrifying and I’ll probably have nightmares about it

Where is Everybody? by Stuart Bray
Torture, fire and puppets.

Tommy & Teef by Megan Stockton
This one totally caught me off guard haha I can’t say much without giving it away. Just read it for yourself😂

My Hook’s In You by The Professor
A psychopath escapes from an asylum for the criminally insane. This was one hell of a ride!

The Meat Box by Angelique Jordonna and Chisto Healy
“Some of the best moments in my life, I owe to my grandmother’s meat box.”

lol I had to🤣 take it whichever way you want. That line is gold.

Okay so it got WAYYYY more unhinged after that line. 😂💀 this is how you end an anthology right here! 🙌

I need another collab from Chisto and Angelique ASAP👀

I was so excited to finally get a physical copy of short stories from Godless! I thought this was a brilliant idea and I cannot wait to grab the second one.
There was not one bad story in the bunch, but my favorites I've starred - although it was a bit hard to choose.

Overall, a solid collection of stories. They vary in the flavoring of extreme, but definitely scratch an itch. Not all of them were a 5/5, but I think only one or two fell into the sub-3 star range. Not in a bad way, they just didn't really resonate with me.

Worth the money to pick up and enjoy, for sure.

An awesome collection of short stories. Usualy with collections theres going to be some hits and some misses, but for me no story in this collection fell bellow a 3/5. There is all manner of gore and weirdness on display, so there is no time to grow bored.
