Keep your friends close and your enemies closer, that’s what they say. Who knew my biggest enemy would share my blood.
I’ve been dreaming of this moment my entire life. The day I reclaim my birthright, ascend the throne, and claim my crown. Yet the instant I am proclaimed Queen of Floodborn, chaos ensues.
My aunt is fueled by revenge, her sights set on me and my kingdom. But with my fated mates by my side, I will stop at nothing to protect those I love and the citizens I have promised a better future.
She has no idea what I’ve been through and I won’t let my people down without a fight. Underestimating me will be her biggest regret because a new court is in session…
What started as a fun series became overly long and boring. Addi at the beginning was a strong willed, independent woman intent on reclaiming the throne not only to restore her family’s name but to better the kingdom. She had literally trained her whole life to become queen and when she finally does she spends the majority of the time missing her men and being baffled about what to do next. It didn't make sense. This is everything you worked for. Why are you so unprepared? Most of this book is told in Addi's POV, probably 75%, which I don't mind but when she is holed up in the castle taking endless meetings it should have cut to her guys who were out doing things for the kingdom. I was bored.
The big bad for most of this series was the council but it gets wrapped up quickly and pushed aside at the end of book 4 so they can introduce a new villain. We hardly get any scenes with Clementine. She basically wreaks havoc off page and then a big battle at the end. I would have rather stuck with the more established story line of the council. There was a lot more to delve into there.
ALSO, WHAT ABOUT ARLO AND FLORA!!!!! I was way more interested in their relationship this book than Addi and her guys and we got crumbs!!!!
I will say Raiden is a bright spot here. Who he was in book one to what he becomes at the end of the series is a journey I have loved to watch. He is still grumpy, stubborn and arrogant but it's now driven by his love and borderline obsession with Addi. I love a smitten psycho.
I hate to say it because I have loved KC Kean's books, but this is the second series in a row that hasn't stuck the landing.
I truly felt like the premise of this book was dumb. Clementine showing up and trying to steal the throne was just boring. She was a character who suddenly appeared and now we had to rush off and deal with her. I wanted to see Adrianna build up the kingdom, instead she wasn’t doing what I expected which was going after Clementine. They couldn’t even find her to begin with and Adrianna and her forces retreated for a time, which made sense but was still odd given that Clementine could have shown up at any time, like she did at the end of the book. I was bored of all the cat and mouse games between them. I was disappointed in the other origins and how they chose to help or not help. Honestly I expected a bit more depth. Because of that it took me forever to slog through this one. It’s not to say it’s bad, it’s just not to my taste with the premise being Clementine. There’s so many questions that still are unanswered as well. What happened to their mom, is that why she went to the wolves? Was Clementine responsible in some way for her demise even though we saw it happen? It sounds like we learned Clementine was masquerading as their mom. So if that’s that case how did it happen? We didn’t get much in the way of those answers.
The guys are still amazing though Cassian has to go be the alpha of the pack leaving him to leave behind Adrianna and her harem. I was annoyed by this separation and it annoyed me it took so long to address.
*Reverse Harem *Paranormal *Multi-PoV *Academy Setting *Crown Trials *Hidden Identity *Mixed ‘species’ *Building Harem (4) *Mid Burn *5/5 Trials, tears and true love. Well there’s a lot to address in this book after the revealing the last…you’d think after everything Addi and her Kryptos faced they’d get a break but apparently not 😣 Clementine might just price to be a worse enemy than the council and it doesn’t help that’s she’s family and there’s connections to Addi’s past she couldn’t even fathom 🥺 I love that no matter what has happened Kryll Brady Cass and Raiden stand by her no matter what but they aren’t afraid to call her out when needed. The whole wider family they have with Flora Arlo Nora and her father is special and might just be the answer to their problems 🙈 there’s a good balance throughout this last book between action drama and spice 🥵 it was a well deserved HEA for all of them 🥰
Such a brilliant series, I counted down the days for each and every book. The detail and emotion in this series was phenomenal, I was completely mesmerised by the storyline- the mystery and suspense had me on the edge of my chair. And those cliffhanger endings were brutal. Now this is the final book of the series, and it didn’t disappoint. It all comes together in this book, Addi and her worst enemy yet - Clementine, her crazy Aunt. Addi has her family and her Men right along side her during this chaotic time. There relationship journey heats up, those steamy scenes were hot AF. I am honestly sad this series is over, but it was such the perfect ending for an utterly phenomenal series.
I don't want to give anything away, so this is going to be short and sweet with some of my thoughts.
I have been counting down the days until I could get my hands on this book. KC Kean is an amazing writer, and I couldn't wait to dive in for the last book in this amazing series. You outdid yourself yet again. What an amazing ending. We finally get answers to the questions that have been floating around in our heads. I love how far addie has come and her guys are amazing the have stood by her though everything!!
What in incredible way to end the series, i absolutely loved it.
What an ending to an amazing series. KC really is a phenomenal author, THE twist were insane and the story build up leaves you absolutely second-guessing yourself. I’ve been gripped through every book and loved Addi and her guys.
For me, this took a little longer for me to get into, but this still slayed. Her Kryptos were a force to be reckoned with, their growth, passion, fierceness and abilities play an incredible part of their journey together. Their personalities & loyalty was unbreakable and i LOVED this!
-final book in series -whychoose -fantasy romance -forbidden origins -ZA vibes
i am honestly so sad it’s over. 😶😶 like what am i supposed to do with my life now! this one was my absolute favorite i think cause these guys were smooooothhh & hot as fuckkk with FILTHYYYYY mouths! gah so good! & the perfect wrap up for this crew to get everything they deserve!!
Wow this book was soooooo good and the conclusion to this series was amazing and what we needed. Addi and her guys went through so much but in the end everything worked out. I can’t believe this series went to 5 books and didn’t fizzle but made me want more.
2.5 ☆ im just here for the favs at this point, the pacing just felt odd in this one and the things that bothered me in the other four were just a little too much in this one.
This is definitely a good series, got me out of my reading slump. Only criticism is that I believe it didn't have to be 5 books long. Otherwise beautiful story.
The final installment of Heir Academy is here and it is a thrilling and emotionally fulfilling conclusion to an unforgettable series! Addi, the strong-willed heroine, has come a long way since the beginning of her journey. Throughout the series, she has faced immense challenges, and in this last chapter, her growth is palpable.
KC does an amazing job of showing Addi and her companions' evolution as they face their most dangerous enemies yet. The stakes have never been higher, and the battles are more intense than ever. But what stands out most in this finale is not just the action or the high-stakes confrontations, but the emotional depth and personal growth of the characters.
The relationships she has built with her men are not just about passion but about trust, support, and mutual respect. Each of them contributes something vital to her evolution, and together, they form a bond that is unbreakable. The romance is beautiful and fulfilling, but it's Addi's internal journey that takes center stage. She learns to embrace her own power, face her fears, and ultimately find happiness—not just in others, but in herself.
One of the most touching aspects of this book is Addi's relationship with her sister. Throughout the series, we've seen them struggle, but in the finale, there is a powerful moment of letting go. Addi learns to step back and allow her sister to grow into her own power, recognizing that true love and family also means giving space for independence and self-discovery.
In the end, the story is not only about defeating enemies and overcoming external threats but about conquering internal battles and becoming the best versions of themselves. KC Kean brings everything full circle with a satisfying and heartwarming conclusion that leaves readers with a sense of peace and closure.
This series? Life changing. Kryll? My new favorite book boyfriend.
KC Kean does it again. Heir Academy has now made it into my top 10 favorite reads ever. I've never read a bad series by her, and this is absolutely no exception. The spics is well written and does not overshadow the plot at all.
Addi is so well written. She is indeed an independent Fae who can handle her own business. She's tough but fair. Cautious, but not afraid to get her hands dirty. The love she has for her blood family AND found family is heavily depicted through all 5 books in the series. Sometimes I find the independent, tough FMCs to be insufferable, but Kean found the balance here. She's definitely able to handle herself but realizes it's okay to accept help from her men and friends. It's definitely a good balance between tough and vulnerable. The way Addi grows into herself throughout the series is amazing. She goes from closed off and distrusting to someone who knows that being vulnerable and allowing others to see your emotions is not always a bad thing.
Raiden-the grumpy over protective vampire. Cassian-the broken, gruff wolf who finds his love of Addi heals all things. Brody-the funny and loving mage. (Also a bit of a cinnamon roll) Kryll-The adoring shifter who is only soft for Addi and loves her through all things 😍 Addi-The Hybrid who finds that the love in all 4 of her men gives her more to fight for than anything else.
Side note: I absolutely hated Vallie. I found that every time she started speaking, I could hear the screeching in my head. That just goes to show how well Kean writes bullies 😂
TL;DR, please read this series. I loved it, you'll love it. This will definitely be going on my reread list.
📚 5/5 🌶2.5/5 Reverse Harem Academy (characters all 20+) PNR Found family Touch her and 💀 vibes OTTP MMCs Fated Mates
This was a three star read for me, mainly because I genuinely enjoyed the first few books in this series. But as it went on, things started feeling repetitive and, honestly, a bit stale at times. I hate admitting that, because I truly thought this series would become one of my new favorites. The beginning was that strong. Unfortunately, everything just went downhill from there.
I especially loved Addi at the start. She was sassy, sharp, and such a strong FMC with bite. But somewhere along the way, that spark faded. At the start, Addi was portrayed as a determined, independent woman who had spent her entire life training to reclaim the throne not just to restore her family’s honor, but to genuinely improve the kingdom. That version of her was really compelling. That was one of the things that made me fell in love with this series. But once she finally achieved her goal, her character seemed to lose its drive, even her spark. Dare I say even what makes her character her. Instead of stepping into her role with confidence and being the badass that she was, she spent most of her time longing for her men (which totally icked me) or appearing completely unsure of her next move. That was so frustrating for me. Like, seriously. WHY? By the later books, her sass, snark, and that badass edge I admired were just… gone, and I couldn’t quite connect with her anymore.
Even the ending didn’t land for me. After so much build up, it felt too easy, almost anticlimactic. I wanted something more satisfying, something that matched the tension and promise of the earlier books. To top it off, this was the first time it ever took me 19 days to finish a book. Yes, I was in a bit of a slump and busier than usual, but still—that’s unusually long for me, which says a lot about how much this dragged.
Usually I review every book in a series, but I was too lazy to do it for this series. I will say that I really enjoyed this series. Addie was a good MC in that she was strong in character and strength, but she was also kind and considerate. She had a great sense of humor and wasn't afraid to stand up for herself. She didn't need a man to fight her battles. That being said, I liked her men. Yes, at first they were jerks, but they grew on me. Their characters grew as the plot progressed and they became better people. The reason I didn't give this series 5 stars is because I felt like the balance was off a bit when it came to time spent with each. I've read enough reverse harem series to know that this imbalance is common. While it wasn't too bad in this series, I did feel like Brody and Cassian, especially Cassian, got the most attention from Addie. I don't like seeing favorites. While Addie may not have intended it to be that way, the fact is that Brody and Cassian were more aggressive about finding time with her. I felt like Addie should have looked for the others to keep things balanced. Kryll was the one that got the least attention, and he was my favorite.
Anyway, I enjoyed the plot. I didn't quite understand why the Fae professor, I can't remember his name, decided to join up with Clementine. He says that we don't know what she offered him, and we never find out what that was. The series has quite a bit of action once it gets moving. I would definitely recommend it if you like reverse harems.
In general I’ve like this author however this series wasn’t my favorite. A lot of things were left unresolved and that drives me crazy. For example the world building wasn’t great. It bugged me that it was also never explained why everyone hated the fae and blamed her father for the kingdom’s “downfall”? The palace was overrun by wolves and they killed a lot of people while he fled with his family.. but wouldn’t that just mean people blame the wolves? Didn’t make sense to me.
Plus this 5th book just felt unnecessary, to add a new antagonist suddenly could’ve been left out.
Butttt part of the only reason I even kept reading and finished the series was because I was waiting for things to be resolved in regard to her mom and the storyline there. She gave her a letter earlier and I kept waiting for her to finally read it and for it provide answers to so many things but NO! The letter is never mentioned again! And she never discussed with her father what she saw in her dream about Clementine possessing her mother before everything happened. So it seems like it was pointing to her mom not being involved! Her mom also seemed confused about why they mentioned Duncan to her and he even ended up killing her which if he supposedly loved her like they were overheard saying that makes no sense. I just wanted the final closure and I hate when author’s leave things unanswered.
I was absolutely enthralled with this, just like with KC Kean’s other series. She wrote incredibly interesting characters in a world that was diverse & chaotic & beautiful.
This series was just another example of how amazing her writing is. Adrianna was a very well written character who had to face quite a few obstacles to get to this ending. Despite their initial meeting with her men, Brody, Raiden, Kryll, & Cassian all grew throughout each book proving that they were well suited for her.
This book wraps up Addi’s attempt to take her rightful reign over Floodborn Kingdom, like her father once did. But not without adversity…in the name of Clementine Reagan. Despite the many obstacles, Addi & her men with the help of their family & friends rise to the occasion & defeat her. It was the ending they all deserved after everything they went through.
This series had me hooked from the very beginning & only increased the more I read. KC Kean has that way of pulling you in with her characters & world building, you find it impossible to put the book down. Just another reason why I will always want to read her books.
Absolutely amazing job with this series! I’m so happy I got the chance to read it.

What an epic conclusion for a phenomenal series. After everything that’s happened previously, my nerves were through the roof anticipating what was to come. I should have known, that this author NEVER lets me down, this book is as fast paced, filled with intrigue, a lot of action and just the right amount of hot moments. The writing is brilliant, and remains so within this book. If possible I loved Addi more, I loved seeing her flourishing in the role she so desperately deserved. She was everything I love in a FMC, fiercely protective, loyal, determined but with a softness and a down to earth-ness. She is definitely one of my all time favourites. Her kryptos, I still can’t pick a favourite, if anything it was even harder to pick in this book. I fell for them a bit more with each flick of a page. I loved getting to see other characters in this series develop and I’m really hoping for a spin off. If you haven’t already then you need to start this series. It’s brilliant, I’ve loved every second of it
I swear it’s like if it wasn’t for bad luck Addie and the guys would have no luck at all. For every step they take to get ahead there is always someone there to try and kick down them even harder. Don’t get me started on clementine that evil witch and her “baby” fairbourne🤢. Addie like the boss bishhh she is takes it in stride and with the help of Arlow she gets her affairs in order. But my heart also breaks because while she has all her men around her she is having to continually lose a piece of her when Cassian has to leave to take care of his pack. But I do love the little moments that Cassian and Addie get to steal to run and be together. I love how all the guys take little moments to get Addie and show her love and care. And in the midst of all the frenzied attacks they find pearl😭😭 sweet pearl😭 my heart broke. Seeing them fight for the kingdom that they love and seeing Nora grow into this warrior and take charge of her magic and her destiny had me so happy. I love that they all ended up happy and together. 4/5⭐️’s 4/5🌶️’s
This is the last book of the Heir Academy series and it picks up right where the last book ended. I had mixed feelings about that book and the need for this book, but I went in openminded because KC is a genius narrator. The tone of this book for me was overall sadness. Everyone is experiencing self-doubt and the bonds between Addi and her beaus are fraught with guilt and sadness over being separated by their new roles in the kingdom. And isn't that a perfect example of "when things get real"? But it made the book drag a bit for me. I absolutely love this series and loved the last book up until the cliffhanger. I can't say my opinion about this book being unnecessary has changed, however the creativity of these stories will always keep me reading. I definitely recommend this series. Don't let the one time I wasn't euphoric after reading a KC book discourage you from reading it. It certainly hasn't discouraged me from wanting to ready every single thing she writes. We all have different tastes after all.
Advanced copy for review. Once again the queen delivers. The final installment of the Heir Academy Series, though not my favorite of the series, still a great book. Per her usual style, KC begins at the exact point we left off with that last cliffhanger. While I was not convinced another book was needed in the series, I was totally on board by the end of this. Though the group is still connected, they are forced to face the reality of running a kingdom. With not as much "quality" time together, their bonds are tested repeatedly. Challenge after challenge face them all from start to finish. Surprises at every turn with betrayals, revelations, new alliances, and an unexpected hero/heroine. This book really kept me on the edge of my seat. I have really enjoyed every one of these characters throughout this series. Each one growing so much more in depth with each new volume. You feel like you really know them all after all this time. I felt a sort of loss with that final page. KC Kean is truly a master of storytelling and this series is one to not be missed.
2 spice. This was ok. Honestly, I felt like Clemmentine should have been introduced in the 2nd book and been part of the big bad she had to defeat, with the series ending at book 4. It made no sense to introduce a new character and baddie in the last 200 pages of the 4th book and the main baddie in this book, the end of the series. It shouldn't have been prolonged into a 5th book, and I don't think the series was planned out very well, or the authors' editors aren't the greatest. I still like this author and will read future books by this author. I just hope her future series are planned out a bit better, in terms of pacing and in character development. I loved Addi, Kryll, and Cassian. Brody didn't have enough development. He never went beyond a player who was goofy. Raiden had potential, but he was so surface level. He could have been better. I think Addi should have just had 2 guys and not 4. She didn't interact enough with all 4 to feel like it was a real relationship.
To say that the ending of the last book threw me for a complete loop, would be an understatement. I never could have predicted that Addi would have a long lost deranged aunt who would become the villain in this last book. All of that made me so excited for this book and to see where K.C. Kean was going to take us. And let me tell you that she did not disappoint.
This book was incredible and everything that I could have hoped it could be. I was sucked in from the very start and couldn’t put it down. I don’t want to say too much so I don’t spoil anything because I want everyone to be able to enjoy this book as much as I did.
Let’s just say that this is probably one of my favorite series that K.C. has written and this book totally made the series. I’m going to miss these characters but I’m beyond excited to see what K.C. is going to give us next.

I am always antsy waiting to see what KC Kean comes up with next. This series has good energy that keeps you curious, an FMC who doesn’t back down and men who stand by her side every step of the way. Get ready for war because the villains are lurking waiting to strike.
I loved Addi I sooo loved this series!!! I loved all of the Characters Addi Dagger Our Queen haha, her men naww Flora, Arlo he was awesome ohhh Janie what a legend & Nora so strong and love her attitude haha naww mostly her Dad, he is the sweetest most supportive Father a girl could wish for. I love his support and his love for his girls. That devotion made this book!! along with her men, like wth!! I love each of their characters all through all the books. I've been just loving this crew and was always hanging on for more, it was a great ending and I loved all the unexpected moments and plot twist bits and Nora's story line, hoping there's some more books off of this series aye, I never wanted them the end. KC please give us more of this world you've built it up so good. I want more haha. Loved this series. Thank you.
I enjoyed it. There was a ton of drama in this book. We got to read Nora’s point of view and I only rated it 4 stars because Adrianna had been through so much but Nora was the one to kill their aunt and all the bad guys. It was described at the end that Adrianna and her aunt stood staring at each other for minutes, not attacking each other. It was anticlimactic. I wanted to read how she threw down and killed the would be usurper. This book was Spiiiiiceeeey! Tons of sex scenes. Seemed like anytime Adrianna got stressed, the guys would take her mind off with hot and sweaty horizontal tango, vertical tango, every which way they could come up with. I had to skip chapters because it got to be to much. I was surprised to read about Fairborne being a traitor. Never would have guessed.
The fifth and final book of the Heir Academy series is out now! How has it been five books already?! This why choose fantasy romance was a fun and amazing journey. I'll miss Addi and her Kryptos so much.
In the Court of Truth, Addi and her inner circle are navigating their new roles in the Floodburn Kingdom. We definitely see Addi struggle a lot with it in the beginning but she has many supporting her and reminding her how much of a badass she really is. I loved getting much needed one on one time with each of her men too. Her bond with them increased significantly in this book.
Expect unexpected surprises, unity, action, found family, and everything else tying up nicely in this finale.
Adrianna has been chosen as the new Queen of the Floodborn Kingdom. At the end of book 4 we learn that Addi has a dark Aunt Clementine, that plans to take the crown. She wants to destroy everyone and everything that Addi loves.
This book was full of action and it keeps you turning the page to find out what’s going to happen next. Adrianna was torn in so many directions but she knew that her guys would hold her together. Cassian, Brody, Kryll and Raiden stood by her side and worked tirelessly to help her find out how to defeat Clementine.
The series ends with a HFN, which I was hoping for a in the future epilogue but sadly not this time. I’m sad to see this series end but excited to see what this author writes next!
