*INTERCONNECTED STANDALONE*

While Aodhan and Sierra’s story has come to an end (or a new beginning), Aislan’s story will continue in Resilient, a stand-alone novel.

Aislan made a deal, his life in exchange for his brothers. At the time, it had seemed like a good idea, but now it has sunk in that he has to spend the rest of his 400-some years with none other than Typhon, Sidhe’s one and only snake shifter. To make matters worse, Sceach Gheal, Typhon’s home, doesn’t contain much to do. There’s no sitting area, no library, heck, there aren’t even proper servants, just some small, ornery dragons Typhon keeps around to do his dirty work.

But when Typhon receives terrible news one day, it looks like Aislan might be the only one who can help. Will these two be able to bridge the gap and become friends, or more? Or will they remain enemies? And what happens when someone from the past comes back to haunt them? Find out in Resilient, an all-new adult M/M forced proximity romantasy.

Thank you to the author for this ARC I really enjoyed reading Aislan and Typhon’s journey together and as individuals. I will say that at times though I admired and wanted Aislan to stand by his beliefs there were times when I wanted to scream at him! The etiquette lessons were cute and the forced proximity trope worked well to move the story along

I loved Typhon as a morally grey character and him having to learn to be less impulsive but also learning that it’s okay to have boundaries his friendship with Chloe is so cute and the Dragons are literally one of the best things about the book

Aislan’s journey towards accepting himself and accepting that other people accept him and love him for who he is was needed and I really enjoyed that and I love the trans rep

Overall I really enjoyed this

I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into when I decided to ARC read this book. I am so glad that I did! The plot was great and flowed really well. It kept me on an emotional rollercoaster of feelings. Hope did a fabulous job and I learned new things about being trans gender. I liked how the main characters each had their own emotional inadequacies of finding love, low self esteem and not feeling good enough or doing enough. I REALLY loved the dragons! I will have to go back and read books one and two.

Thank you to the author for the ARC.

I’ve been excited to read Aislan’s and Typhon’s story since the ending of Bold.

Typhon is such an interesting character. He’s socially awkward, terrible at his job, and would rather starve than learn to cook. And Aislan is now stuck living with him, after accepting a fae bargain meant for his brother. So the previous books you just think of Typhon as a villain…when in reality he’s just a lonely, weird, demi-god? And he wants a friend.

I definitely have a soft spot for Typhon, despite his flaws. He’s definitely on the morally grey end of the spectrum. I don’t know what it says about me, but Aislan was the weakest character for me. Apparently I am just drawn to the flawed villains 🤷🏻‍♀️. I did love the transgender representation though!

I enjoyed seeing their relationship evolve, as both characters personally grew and improved. And it was fun to revisit the magical fae world. The dragons were the best side characters and I wish I had one as a friend.

Resilient by @hopeedavisauthor

This is the first book I have read by Hope E Davis. Resilient is book 3 but can be read as a standalone so I said why not because who doesn't love a little enemies to lovers trope 🤷

Resilient was definitely an interesting read but I found the pace of the story a little slow. I am sure it's because I don't have an attachment to the characters from books 1 and 2 though. Once the story picked up it was really good but I would recommend starting with book 1 🤗 That being said, I really enjoyed Aislan and Typhon's character development and the vibes I got similar to Beauty and the Beast.

Anyone know where I can get myself a tiny dragon?

Thank you to the author and @sunnybabepr for the opportunity to read your story.

Keep in mind this is a MM Romance.

Oh Typhon I love how clueless he was to social etiquette and emotions. He has been alone for so long that he has no idea how to interact with others.  I love his and Aislan's manners sessions. I love watching their relationship grow and for them both to learn from one another.

The dragons were a fun edition. I really loved Violet and Emerald!

thank you Hope for sending me a gifted copy. My thoughts are my own

Resilient is a fun, emotional ride with a dash of snark and some seriously lovable cat-sized dragons. Aislan and Typhon’s dynamic kept me hooked. It was awkward, intense, and surprisingly sweet. The forced proximity trope works well here, and the character growth feels earned. Definitely worth the read if you're into M/M romantasy.

I liked Demure (though I haven’t read Bold yet), and since Hope mentioned Resilient could be read as a standalone, I decided to take the leap—because I love MM stories!

It was definitely interesting, but I found the pacing a bit slow at times. As much as I admire Aislan for standing by his beliefs, I won’t lie—there were moments I just wanted to smack him 😂

That said, I really enjoyed watching both Aislan and Typhon grow, not just individually but in their relationship too. While this wasn’t a high-stakes story, it still delivered an emotional and enjoyable read.

This was my first book by Hope E. Davis and I really liked her writing style. I do think that for more enjoyment of this book the other books should be read as well although everything does get explained.
It took me a while to get into this story because the pacing is pretty slow but then the story took off a bit more and I liked seeing them grow and have more confidence.

This was my first book by Hope E Davis and I was honestly enamored from start to finish! I can not wait to dive into the rest of the world Hope has created! I had no idea of the world I was stepping into when I signed up for this arc but I absolutely do not regret checking Hope out and you won’t either!

The pacing was spot on with this read and it was super chill read! It was the perfect read for a weekend of chill! The characters really pull you in and make you attached! There are a lot of emotional intricacies between characters that is very cool to see!

This was the first book I’ve read as an ARC and so I’ve taken more time to read it than I normally would to give me a chance to really gather my thoughts.

Firstly, it does really well as a interconnected standalone as it introduces all the characters without too much exposition, feeds just enough backstory so that new readers (like me) get what’s going on without repeating so much that people who’ve read previous volumes are bored, and makes you want to go back and explore the previous stories.

It took me a little while to gel with the characters and the story, but once I got invested I really wanted to know more and I was rooting for the characters. The two main characters develop really well throughout the book and their progression is natural and feels earned.

I’d certainly recommend this to anyone who wants a good, mildly spicy read with a lovely slow burn relationship with a great fantasy plot line.

This is a great low stakes, slower paced story for any MM lovers.
I went into this as an interconnected standalone, so I was a little confused at first, but the explanations all come eventually
I really enjoyed the effort to put into showing the growth of both main characters, both as individuals and together in their relationship.
The struggles they each face are believable and show a lot of emotional growth.
I really had a good time in this story.

A cute little extension story after Sierra and Aodhan's happily ever after.

While they both appear in this story, Resilient focuses on Aislan, Aodhan's little brother, after he sacrificed his freedom to save both Aodhan and Sierra. We pick up about a year after Aislan's deal is struck. How do we know it's been nearly a year? Because Aislan is keeping track, by making marks on a wall in the room next to his bedroom. While he's not excited about living with Typhon, Sidhe's notorious snake shifter, he's also not angry about things. He's happy that he was able to help Aodhan and Sierra get their happy future.

In Demure and Bold, we learn that Aislan made a deal with Gaia to change his sex. However, in exchange he gave up the ability to love. While a very steep price, Aislan was happy to pay it to be able to live authentically. And despite being a prisoner, he is able to wander Typhon's castle freely. The only stipulation put on him is that he is to have dinner with Typhon every evening.

We get a few instances of Beauty and the Beast vibes with these two: Aislan looking for the library and learning there isn't one because Typhon doesn't know how to read, the demands to eat dinner together, and Typhon just being a bit of a menace in the beginning. Finally a surprise visit from Sierra sets several things in motion. She is concerned for Aislan's well being, especially after Aodhan was Typhon's prisoner in Bold and Aislan appears to be malnourished. Since Typhon runs the prison where the most dangerous criminals in Sidhe are being kept, Sierra sets up an evaluation to ensure that Typhon's records are being properly kept. Which, they aren't. And if this fact is discovered, then the prison will be taken from Typhon.

Aislan is willing to help Typhon bring his records up to scratch, as long as Typhon hires some new staff instead of relying on the dragons for housekeeping and cooking. And while they are working to do this, they get closer and closer. First we see the beginnings of friendship between Aislan and Typhon, followed quickly by the spark of attraction for each of them. They are forced on a quest to help determine where a missing prisoner is, and their attraction only grows.

Despite being a villain, we really feel for Typhon and his rather lonely life. When he learns why Aislan is hesitant to start any type of relationship with him, we see Typhon willing to do anything to take away Aislan's burden. As soon as he was so sure that Aislan would be thrilled with what Typhon had done for him, I just knew that it would be the opposite! Typhon is so used to living alone and doing things his own way that it doesn't even occur to him to discuss this with Aislan before making his deal. Aislan keeps his deal to Typhon to help him get his records updated so that he can keep his prison, and Typhon keeps his deal to allow Aislan to leave.

Watching Aislan's emotional anguish when he is misgendered and deadnamed, facing his ex from before his transformation was very difficult to read. And you can really feel the annoyance from Aislan when Typhon was just being Typhon. I did feel that Aislan's disbelief that Typhon hadn't changed that much and killed someone was interesting. Typhon had made several changes already, and these deaths were in defense of someone he loved. But then Typhon's emotional devastation as Aislan's leaving was truly heart-wrenching. You see that Typhon is really willing to do anything for someone he loves. And their reunion at the end with Typhon's art lesson was so sweet. Aislan's emotional journey, from being unable to truly love someone at the beginning to finally finding someone he loves deeply in Typhon at the end was such a beautiful journey to follow. And Typhon's arc from being the notorious villain to being this huge softy and offering art lessons to all of Sidhe was so cute!

Some favorite quotes:
Typhon tried to ruin Sierra's chance at happiness, and Aislan hadn't been able to stand by and watch it happen. So, he had sacrificed himself and his own happiness. As he always did for his friends and family. Otherwise, the guilt would eat him alive.
"When someone misgenders me, it feels ike being stabbed in the gut. It's someone refusing to see me as who I chose to be just because it makes them uncomfortable."
"I love it. Thank you. "Anything for you."
"Being a handsome busybody is a full-time job."
"Whatever you are thinking, stop it. I love you. Everything you've done. Every mistake you've made. Everything that led me to you. Everything you are becoming. It's all a part of you, and I love it all."
If this is what love and heartbreak was, he wanted to take back everything he had said before. This wasn't worth it.
"You are stronger than this pain. You will make it through."

If you love a romantasy with MM romance, forced proximity, enemies to lovers, trans MMC, dragons, loose Beauty and the Beast retelling, and a morally grey MMC, check out Resilient!

Wow, what a way to be introduced to the wonderful world that Hope has created! This was my first book by the author and I am so not disappointed! I read this over 2 days in the car for a book convention out of town and I was sucked in. I did not read the 2 books before it in the series…yet, but I will be going back to read them at a later date!

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you gave yourself up to the Villian in your part of the world in exchange for your sister in laws freedom? Only to slowly discover you might be attracted to said Villian and want to help him to become the best version of himself possible. Oh, and you have agreed to help him save his prison, teach him etiquette, take better care of his dragons, and maybe along the way you can get him to accept his snake shifter side.

Aislan is the disowned son of a very bad Fae, he is the younger brother of Aodhan, empath, and prisoner. Typhoon is the Villian to the Sidhe, he runs the maximum security prison, talks to dragons, and is a snarky, snappy, snake shifter. He is also a demigod, the son of Gaia, and he is attracted to Aislan and doesn’t know how to handle it.

This is definitely a book for fans of romantasy, forced proximity, M/M relationships, trans representation, and fans of Beauty and the Beast! I received this as an arc copy and straight up loved it! Thank you to Hope for allowing me to be a part of this books journey, I can’t wait to see what else is going to happen in this world, I would love to see a book about the God Donn (he was so hilarious), don’t miss out on this book you can read it as a standalone but it will give spoilers for the others in the series. I absolutely recommend this book!

I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after reading a free ARC of this novel via Sunny Babe PR. RESILIENT is the third book in the MODERN LEGENDS OF SIDHE series, by Hope E Davis, which is available 8/15/2025. The book is a third person, dual POV, open door, romantasy novel, which can be read as an interconnected standalone. It contains tropes such as age gap, enemies to lovers, dragons, Fae and magic, MM romance, beauty and the beast retelling, Forced proximity, and LGBTQIA+, and includes explicit content and trigger warnings, which should be reviewed carefully. Readers should be aware that one of the main characters is transgender. This novel takes place in a fantasy world of the Fae which exists superimposed over our own, called Sidhe. Aislan had made a deal to exchange places with his imprisoned brother. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but he realized that the rest of his 400+ years of life would be spent with Typhon, Sidhe’s one and only snake shifter. To make matters worse, Typhon‘s home and maximum security prison, contained very little to do. When Typhon received terrible news, Aislan was the only one who could help. Would the two be able to bridge the gap to become friends, or more? I enjoyed this new chapter of life of the fantasy realm, Sidhe. I especially enjoyed reading about a transgender main character in a romance novel. Although some sections were a bit slow, I really enjoyed this endearing story about the transformation of a villain and the love that blossomed between misunderstood captor and captive. This novel touches on the impact of emotional abuse of a parent, parental abandonment, and the struggles for transgender individuals in a society which does not universally accept them. I felt that the author handled the sensitive subject matter with sensitivity and respect. I recommend this novel for readers who enjoy LGBTQIA + positive fantasy romance novels with the tropes listed above. All three novels in the series are available in the Kindle Unlimited program.

Oh my Gaia this book was amazing!! I read it before reading Bold and Demure, so it definitely can be read independently as i don’t feel like i missed any massive story points! Also, the book comes with a really handy Sidhe World References guide at the back, which helps with anything slightly confusing!
But onto the actual review:

Typhon absolutely stole my heart! I know he’s the “villain” but he’s such a golden retriever he’s so cute 🥹 he’s just so innocent too! Like when he’s first learning how to talk to people and just blurts out “Do you like the weather today?” 🥹 I just wanna give him a hug 😭 But also, he’s so protective too and i love that from him!! Like murdering people for Aislan?? Hot!
Onto Aislan! First off, i love the representation! Aislan is the king i never knew i needed! He’s so patient, but also firm, like he doesn’t let himself get walked over and i love that for him! Also, he’s been through some shit! It sounds like he went through some more in book 1 & 2, but even in this book, he goes through it. I just wanna hug him too man 😭 Both of them just need a hug.

Also that ending?? Talk about leaving it to the last minute 😭 It was cutting it that close that i thought it was gonna be a cliff hanger for book 4 😂 However, that didn’t happen and i’m so glad it didn’t! I just needed them both to be happy 🙏
But i am really looking forward to what Hope brings out next! As i’m sure it’s going to be just as amazing 😍

Book 3: Modern Legends of Sidhe series

Tropes
🏔Enemies to Lovers
🏔Dragons
🏔MM romance
🏔Loose Beauty and the Beast retelling
🏔Fae & Snake shifter

This was such a cute book but it was also an emotional roller coaster. I fell in love with the story from the first few pages. I read the book over a few days but it read easily and quickly.

This is a mm romance between a Fae and a snake shifter with dragon!!! Who wouldn’t want a mountain house/prison full of dragons. The book follows Aislan and Typhon. Aislan made a deal in exchanged for his brother life. This means he will be spending the rest of his years in Sceach Gheal. This also happens to be Typhon’s home. Typhon finds himself in a terrible situation and the Aislan is the only person who can help him.

Typhon is such an interesting character. He is the villain but he actually has such a soft heart. The book has a 3rd act break up but it is what was needed in the story line. I was not mad about that. Both the characters go through so much development. My favourite part is the relationship between Typhon and Aislan. It was so good, the banter, the forced proximity and the spice!!

I haven’t read the first 2 books but it was still easy to follow this storyline. I will definitely go back and read the first two books

Thank you Hope E. Davis and Sunny Babe PR for sending me this book in exchange for my honest review.

From Demure to Bold and now in Resilient
I have loved every moment in the world of Sidhe and getting to know and love the characters.

But I loved Resilient just a little more than the other two. Taking place mostly in Sceach Gheal, which is Typhon's home/prison where Aislan gave up his freedom in exchange for his brother's.

Typhon is the story's villain, but omg I have always had a soft spot for him. I was sooo happy he was getting his own story and alongside Aislain is just pure perfection. Plus he talks to dragons, is the son of Mother Nature and is a Demi God who is straight up rude and snarky. What's not to love. My heart went out to both of them at different intervals as they each addressed their individual struggles.

We get a MAP! 😍 I looove this! And there is also a full reference guide for terminology and a pronunciation guide for names and places.

There are themes of identity, low self esteem and not being enough.
There is trans representation done so beautifully, it made me cry.

Hope's writing is so heartfelt. She thinks of the smallest details and gives them a place to shine. Just like all the firsts, which was so sweet it squeezed my heart.

This book was everything, and I want to thank you Hope for allowing me to be part of your arc team, and my copy of Resilient. ..which is the perfect title btw.

This is book 3 in the series and can be read as a standalone, which i did. Having gone in without reading the other two books in the series, I feel like I could still understand everything that was going on and the worldbuilding. I think the only downside for me is that I didn't have any previous emotional attachment to the characters! I definitely want to go back and re read the other books now.

It was really lovely to read a low-stakes cosy queer romantasy. Aislan is great trans representation too and i thought his journey was handled beautifully. The writing styles and world building reminded me of Percy Jackson x ACOTAR which was really fun for me to get into. It was kind of a beauty and the best retelling too.

I couldn't get super into the romance, especially since Aislan had been a prisoner of Typhon and I felt like the character growth and romance needed more of a building up to than it had. However it could have partly been that I haven't seen these characters before and it might have had more of a build up in previous books.

I did really enjoy the dual POVs and the lessons in etiquette for Typhon had me laughing out loud and I loved Sierra and Aodhan here too.

Overall a great, cosy read perfect for as we just come into Autumn.

Thank you to Sunny Babe for gifting me a copy of this book.

What you can expect:
✨ MM Romance
✨ Forced Proximity
✨ Trans rep

THE BLURB 📖
Aislan made a deal, his life in exchange for his brothers. At the time, it had seemed like a good idea, but now it has sunk in that he has to spend the rest of his 400-some years with none other than Typhon, Sidhe’s one and only snake shifter. MY THOUGHTS 💭
✨ Typhon is so awkward at the start so I loved seeing his growth throughout the book.
✨ I loved the little dragons, they were so cute!
✨ While I did eventually get into this one, I think it would have been easier to understand if I’d read the previous books first, particularly in terms of the world building.
✨ Sometimes the pacing was a bit slow but still an enjoyable book overall.

Tropes:
✨ Enemies To Lovers
✨ Loose Beauty and the Beast Retelling
✨ Morally Grey MMC
✨ MM Romance

Even though this is a standalone book, read Demure and Bold first. I promise the story will make so much more sense.

This story is about Typhon and Aislan. Typhon is a snake shapeshifter that is in charge of a prison and Aislan is a trans MMC that lives with Typhon due to an agreement (it was established in Bold).

I swear I have said this with every single book in this series but I loved this book! There is so much in this book from character development (so much I loved it) to life lessons, to two men competing against the odds of love.

Typhon hasn’t had the best life and he acts the way he does to shield himself from more hurt. So he is very misunderstood. But when someone finally gives him the time of day, he learns how joyful it can be to have someone you actually care about in your life. He learns so much in such a short time and honestly it was such a joy to watch him come into is own person.

Aislan has only had one person in his corner and that’s his brother. He isn’t very trusting (and for good reason). But I loved that he let Typhon in. He got to learn what it’s like for someone other than family care about him. The both of them for like a glove and it was so joyous to watch them both grow together.

This book is so much more than a romance book. It’s about acceptance, sacrifice, compromise and most importantly, finding yourself.

Book: Resilient by Hope E. Davis

Genre: Fantasy, LGBTQIA+, Romance
Series: Modern Legends of Sidhe; can be read as a standalone book
Spice: 3/5
Setting: Sidhe – a fictional world based on locations/areas of Ireland
POV: Main Character (s) POV
Tropes: Enemies to Lovers, Second Chance, Reluctant Ruler, hidden world

My Thoughts:

I loved this book and its story building. I wish I would have utilized the glossary in the back to understand some of the terminology within the world of Sidhe. Y’all this glossary is one of the best I have EVER seen in my life!

I found that this book really gave enough context to the world of Sidhe and its previous characters in the book series. This is a hard thing to do and was done so well that I did not need to read previous books (though I plan too!).

Davis portrays an openly transgender character with such love and grace that you can feel the struggles but also the love from all characters in the story of Aislan.

While I found that this story, aside from the enemies to lovers trope, was Davis’ way of invoking emotion from me as a reader. I became emotionally invested from the very first page of this book and wanted to see a HEA for Aislan.

If you want a feel good romance, LGBTQIA+ enemies to lovers, and fantasy vibes – this is your book!

[ARC REVIEW]

I love a retelling, we know this. So it’s no surprise I thoroughly enjoyed Resilient. Resilient is the third book in the Modern Legends of Sidhe series, but can be read as a standalone. Which is what I did. Typically I find books that are standalones but part of a series to be tough for me. I didn’t have any issues with this one. There are enough details and references to the previous books to make the connections without it being overbearing or feeling like I needed to read the other books to truly enjoy this one.

This is a loose retelling of Beauty and the Beast but make it queer (M/M), featuring fae and a snake-shifter, and dragons that act like domesticated cats. (Seriously, where do I get one???)

We follow Aislan as he navigates his deal of living with Typhon (the mentioned snake shifter with a love of capes) in exchange for his brother’s life at Sceach Gheal. And really, it’s sounding like it’s going to be a real long and boring life for Aislan. But then Typhon gets some news in the form of what’s basically an audit of Sceach Gheal. Oh did I mention it’s kind of a prison too, because it is.

What follows is a fun, banter, and tension filled story. I loved reading about Aislan teaching Typhon about manners and the both of them learning to make enchiladas from Aislan’s sister-in-law/Gaia. This was the perfect little palette cleanser of the sweetest (with just a touch of angsty), fluffy novel I needed between my heavier books.

Thank you so much Hope E. Davis for the ARC! This was a lot of fun 🙂

Resilient is a charming, low-stakes, character-driven romantasy — book three in the Modern Legends of Sidhe series, though it can be enjoyed as an interconnected standalone.

This heartfelt tale follows Aislan, who struck a bargain: his life in exchange for his brothers’ freedom. Now bound for life to Typhon — a morally grey snake shifter — he must navigate a home with no comforts: no sitting room, no library, and only a staff of tiny dragons serving as guards and attendants. When the council announces an impending inspection of Typhon’s utterly nonexistent prison records, the unlikely pair join forces to set things right before the deadline. But will this uneasy alliance blossom into friendship, something more… or stay mired in animosity?

After a run of high-stakes romantasy, this story felt like a breath of fresh air. Aislan and Typhon’s journey is rich with internal struggles, tender moments, and a gentle thread of mental health representation. Typhon’s redemption arc was particularly satisfying — still deliciously morally grey, yet undeniably a cinnamon roll when it came to Aislan.

Started this off by saying I did enjoy this and would definitely recommend this if any of the above catches your attention.

Don't want to say too much because I don't want to spoil, but I just thought a lot was going on and was confused on a few things that were happening, found some things redundant, and dragging in a few spots.

What or rather who I did enjoy was Typhon ( one of the MMCs)! Even though he was the “Villain”, he was surprisingly sweet and innocent in a sense, and did everything Aislan ( our other MMC) asked or tried to do right by Aislan. For example, Typhon getting revenge for Aislan, or the library scene! I thought that was so freaking sweet, well a bit crazy for the revenge thing, but sweet too.
Also my favorite quote, “I am attracted to who you are, Aislan, not your gender.”
That just stole my heart!!

I could go on and on about why I love Typhon and his relationship with Aislan!

Overall though I really did enjoy this and if anything I put above has your attention I would definitely recommend trying the book out for yourself.

✨🐍 RESILIENT by @hopeedavisauthor 🐍✨

Enemies. A deal with the devil. Forced proximity. And maybe… something more. 👀

Aislan traded his freedom to save his brothers, binding himself to Typhon …the cold, sinfully dangerous snake shifter of Sidhe. Now stuck in a barren, dragon-guarded home with nothing but tension (and heat) between them, Aislan realizes the hardest part of his bargain isn’t survival. It’s resisting the man who was supposed to be his enemy.

This one is giving:
🐉 M/M romantasy
🐍 Snake shifter MMC (!!)
🔥 Forced proximity slow-burn that sizzles
🗡️ Enemies-to-lovers tension you can cut with a blade
🌑 Dark pasts, lingering danger, & found-when-you-least-expect-it love

Hope E. Davis is back with another lush, emotional, and unputdownable fantasy romance. If you loved the depth of Aodhan & Sierra’s story, get ready because Aislan & Typhon will steal your heart, shred it, and piece it back together.

This is a charming tale that gives me Beauty and the Beast vibes. It is filled with emotions but still remains lighthearted and witty as the main characters, Typhon and Aislan, work through internal and external struggles.

Hope E Davis has done a wonderful job at bringing this story to life, giving readers a deeper insight to two characters I couldn't help but love. I will admit, part of me always had a bit of a soft spot for Typhon, so I was glad to see all of the complexities of his character. Alongside Typhon, we get to see more of Aislan who was written so beautifully. Resilient is absolutely a fitting title given what each of these men have been through in their past.

It was lovely to see brief and meaningful appearances from Sierra and Aodhan, meet some lovable new characters, and dragons.

All in all, this is a wonderful book and was a perfect fit in the Modern Legends of Sidhe saga. It had a good amount of spice that did not detract from the plot, and touched on topics of identity in such a beautiful way. It is easily an inclusive, cozy, and inviting read.

I really enjoyed the look we got with both Aislan and Typhon. Seeing more glimpses of the two was definitely a nice touch to the story and it has it's moments with some heart break. It's nice also getting more of the Fae prison and the views we see of Typhon. I do enjoy Aislan as a character and Typhon was definitely an intrigue for me. Watching him develop and learn did make him a lot more endearing to me. I do wish we got more glimpses of Typhon pre-Aislan.

I have officially made my stance on the bad guy Conlan who continuously mis-gender's his son as well as deadnaming him. It does show how society today acts in regard to the trans community, and it was heartwarming to see the acceptances that both Typhon and Aislan got throughout the story.

I'm excited to see more from this author in the future and hope to get more from Typhon as well and the rest of our group.

I had fun with this book, although definitely not what I was expecting.

I went in blind and had not read books 1 or 2. Now although this is an interconnected stand alone a lot was brought up from the first 2 books that I feel like I definitely would have benefitted from reading them first. This book felt kind of like a YA / NA book with 3 smutty scenes thrown in. I did enjoy them but I didn't necessarily feel they were needed.

Now to the characters: Aislan, they could never make me like you. HOW DARE YOU HURT OUR MAN TYPHON like that. Maybe it's my affinity for morally grey MMC but I feel like homie was just trying his best! So what if he did "a little murdahhh. What murdahh???" He had a rough childhood and deserved so much more grace. (Granted if I read books 1 and 2 I might feel different?) Aislan could have given him a little break, he was trying!

Nevertheless I enjoyed this book. I loved the dragons and I loved the servants for sure, they were fun!

OMG I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!!!! The character development especially for Typhon is so fucking huge!! I honestly enjoyed him in the other 2 books but holy shit he’s just a big sad puppy on the inside and watching him grow made my little black heart weep 😭😭!

I’m so glad Aislan figured a few things out but damn it took him a long time. I honestly loved how they made each other better and their story is so heart-wrenchingly beautiful! And the TENSION!!!! Okay seriously. You would have trouble cutting that shit with the sharpest of blades! The near ending annoyed the shit out of me but it’s okay cause we got where we needed to be in the end and I cried so fucking hard!

So I cannot not mention the cutest fucking dragons I have ever read! They’re just big cats and I love them so much! I just wanna cuddle in a bed with them! So thank you Hope for letting me get to see this amazing story! (Also, just have to say, Donn’s a dick! 🤣)

Typhon is a snake shifter who keeps Aislan as a prisoner. Aislan spends his days counting how many sun-cycles he has been a prisoner. When Typhon receives news of an inspection of the prison he is overseeing, Aislan comes up with a plan to help him.

Typhon is grumpy and a loner, and prefers dragons. Aislan is more friendly and craves companionship. Forced to work together to save Typhon's job at the prison, they realise they have feelings for each other.

I really enjoyed this book. I love how two people with different personalities are attracted to one another. Not exactly enemies but not quite friends either.

I loved their relationship and the way it developed. There was character growth from both characters. The world building was done well and the reader is drawn into the story. This was definitely a 5 star read for me.
