Wow! What an incredible debut novel. I knew from page one that the book would hold my attention, and I was in for a wild ride.

Ghost is an obsessed psychopath stalker who would do anything for Mallory. Knox tries to keep law and order and teeters between the two. We have to give him credit for keeping his secret identity. I absolutely love him!
Kudos to Mallory’s character growth. She has been through a lot, and she flourishes when meeting Knox/Ghost.
I’m obsessed with this book. I read it in one sitting. Can we talk about that ending?!! It’s a whopper of a cliffhanger. I have a suspicion, but I can’t wait to see what happens next.

We start off when the MMC first meets the FMC at the gas station. That was it for him. She was his. She just didn't know it yet.
Mallory has a rough past, and finally is able to live on her own in a small house on the outskirts of town. When she starts to notice someone has been stalking her in a ghost mask, the logical thing to do is call the police. Nope, not Mallory. She is slightly turned on by her stalker...and a bit sassy. Once she does call the police, finally gaining common sense, she didn't expect to have the hottest police officer she has ever seen knock on her door. Now she is torn. Does she go with her stalker, or stay with the police officer? It helps that he is the same man, she just doesn't know that.
Nox (Ghost), has been watching Mallory for some time now. He has watched her slowly deteriorate, and lose her spark. Well, he can't have that. So finally he comes out of his hiding spot to interact with his obsession. He can feel the chemistry, but will Mallory be able to accept his dark parts as well as good?
Without giving anything away, there is a whole thriller and mystery aspect to this book. Was I able to see the plot twists? Yes, since I think it was made obvious for a reason, however it did not take away from the book at all.
I am sorry, that cliff though?!!!!! HOW DARE YOU! I legit screamed, and my husband ran in asking what was wrong. The ending is criminal Riley, just criminal.

I liked it but I think it was lengthy for no reason. The book ends on a cliff-hanger but I believe it could have end in this book itself. Overall, I enjoyed the book. I believe the MMC got a lot of chances to come clean about his identity but he didn't.

I honestly don't know where to start. I have enjoyed reading this book. I am normally don't read Dark Stalker Romance. I am a massive fan of Ghostface.
Between Mallory and the Cop even through in Ghostface is just chief kiss.
I won't lie there is a point in the book that gave me the ICK was the Window part. With the Blood and the man's semen. Then Mallory had to clean that shit up. 🤢
Now the ending had me all twisted up ;& leaving on a To Be Continue.

OMG i loved it so much !!! the way this is your debut novel is actually so crazy to me 😭 everything flowed perfectly. the dialogue, the plot, the FEELS 🙌🏼 i’m utterly obsessed with this and need book two … IMMEDIATELY ! bc that ending had me choking on air.
the moment i met officer graves … i already folded. like come on … the dude is a cop, yet he also unalive anyone that brings harm to his girl. it can’t get any better than that. oh wait … it can. I am officially ruined. This book was hands down the best I’ve read all year and maybe top 5 all time. This story is going to stick with me and I am honestly not ready for the book hangover. From the very first page I fell in love with Mallory and of course Ghost and Nox (swoon). Add in my own love of horror movies, especially Scream, and I knew I was a goner. The writing is absolutely fantastic and I felt like I was flying through the pages. Fast paced, with the perfect balance of spooky and steamy. A must read for spooky season or literally whenever. 5 stars and then some! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I give this book 4 stars for the same reasons I have den of vipers 4 stars (for the plot obviously). Also because I’m a sucker for stalker romances. The one thing that bothered me though — appart from the lack of non-bedroom action, which I guess I am not complaining — is the lack of DIALOGUE. Where’re the dialogues ? There was so much inner monologue, I couldn’t see the end of it lmaoo
I wasn’t really thinking about readying the second book (well, when it would come out) but with that cliffhanger, I need to get the second one even just for the first few pages.

Where do I even begin? So many emotions are running through me right now—“to be continued...” Absolutely not! I need to know what happens next. I’m too deep into this to stop now!
At first, I didn’t feel an immediate connection, but as I continued reading, the story allowed me to grow alongside it. As it unfolded, I quickly became addicted. I felt myself growing with the narrative, and I fell in love with the characters—Mallory, Nox, and Ghost.
I’ve never been one for a “Ghostface” type, but after this story, I definitely am! If I could find my own Ghostface stalker just like the one in this book, then sign me up! I loved how Lennox (Nox) was kind, caring, and romantic, while Ghost was dark, wild, and overprotective. Mallory, the female main character, was also fantastic—timid and shy at first but gradually growing stronger and not afraid to fight back. The dynamics between the characters fit together so well, and the banter had me laughing out loud.
This book was very well thought out and easy to read. I found it funny, quirky, and refreshingly different. The small-town country vibe combined with the unexpected twists and turns kept me second-guessing and hungry for more.
Once this book sank its teeth into me, I couldn’t resist the pull—just like Mallory couldn’t resist Nox and Ghost. The only frustration is having to wait for part two!
Overall, Grave Obsession delivers a compelling storyline with its mix of small-town charm, stalker/cop dynamic, dark romance, and mind-bending twists. It will quickly become an obsession, leaving you hungry for more. I highly recommend grabbing your copy—you won’t be disappointed. And like me, you’ll be waiting eagerly for the next installment!

What a page turner of a dark novel this is! I enjoyed both Ghost and Mallory’s character in this book. Again, I was surprised by just how much I did like this story.
Ghost, is more than just an intriguing sexy stalker that part will become crystal clear as you continue reading.His obsession for Mallory runs deep. Mallory, was just portrayed so well by the author and she was very easy to like even as the story progressed. This book was thrilling, spooky, steamy, and did I mention hot!
This does end with quite the cliffhanger, but it is still worth it. I am excited to see what comes next!

Picked this up to try based on seeing other GR reviews.
I love a good stalker MMC, and I thought he was an interesting character. I liked that his police officer personality was in direct contract to his "Ghostface" personality, and it just made it a little more creative.
For me, I did struggle to get through it as it just seemed unnecessarily long with a lot of internal monologuing from each character. There are parts that just come across as repetitive, and sometimes the MMC and FMC were written too similar...e.g. both get lost in their thoughts a lot and then make comments about "how long was I off thinking for" or they will both comment on a phase/saying and then say something similar to "or whatever that saying is". So I am not sure the characters were created differently enough for me.
I had hoped for a little bit more mystery surrounding the FMCs parents disappearance but the culprit is announced pretty early on.
I managed to get to 25% of the way in, but there wasn't much to the plot and just back and forth between the characters. There was a little chemistry between the two of them, but not much yet. They both imagined each other intimately. They both did shifts at work. The MMC took care of some people for the FMC. But that was it really? I don't think it was badly written, it just isn't really engaging me at the moment. So I have DNF for now.

There is the best banter, the spice is spicing, and the plot is fantastic!
The MMC is so funny and he had me giggling (as well as squirming) while reading. I’m ready to fight Mallory for Nox so I can be his Little Siren and get taken care of.
I loved that there was mental health representation and it was written into the story really well.
The fact that I have to wait for book 2 is just cruel! I wish I could scrub this from my mind and re-read it!

This is one of my favorite dark thriller romances I’ve read! The spice was spicing, the stalker was stalkering, and the plot was juicy! I was on the edge of my seat while also connecting with the FMC’s dilemma between wanting the good and the taboo in her men.
Also that ending was 🔥 and had me legit yelling 🤣. Absolutely ate this up!

Listen here. I always love rough hate fuck men and I love the after care after. I love primal play and the chasing and the owning bla bla bla.
Ghost and Nox are the men I need in my life and I want someone to match my freak. Ghost is a representation of fucked up fantasies that I need, while Nox is a facade that I can live with, even he can go feral.
I can't stop reading this book, the only reason why it took me 3 days is just because I have to go to work. It's a short-medium book I'd say. But the author is able to create a flow or story that is not boring and everything is so juicy and meaningful. I'll even say this is very well thought and the MCs are so realistic. Only this book and other Sloane St.James books that I can say that. They are so cute and I want to have my own Ghost and Nox.
It pisses me off a bit on how Mallory is actually so smart, but dumb at the same time. I mean, open ur eyes gurl. It's not that hard. Same goes to Nox and Ghost, HELLO??!! Please it's obvious.
I want to say this is my first horror-ry, thriller, crime, spice book. It's more thriller than Haunting Adeline, more than Lauren Biel (but her's is darker as in nastier, but the thrill not so much).
If you are looking for suspenseful spice romance book. This is it. But yeah I need the second book, it's a need by now.
I think I'm going crazy. This is actually really good. Even tho I got it for free for honest review. I'm not making this up. NGL I was doubting at first bc it's not what I usually read and it's kinda cheating but idk what happened but I ate this.

Ghost and Nox are the men I need in my life and I want someone to match my freak. Ghost is a representation of fucked up fantasies that I need, while Nox is a facade that I can live with, even he can go feral.
I can't stop reading this book, the only reason why it took me 3 days is just because I have to go to work. It's a short-medium book I'd say. But the author is able to create a flow or story that is not boring and everything is so juicy and meaningful. I'll even say this is very well thought and the MCs are so realistic. Only this book and other Sloane St.James books that I can say that. They are so cute and I want to have my own Ghost and Nox.
It pisses me off a bit on how Mallory is actually so smart, but dumb at the same time. I mean, open ur eyes gurl. It's not that hard. Same goes to Nox and Ghost, HELLO??!! Please it's obvious.
I want to say this is my first horror-ry, thriller, crime, spice book. It's more thriller than Haunting Adeline, more than Lauren Biel (but her's is darker as in nastier, but the thrill not so much).
If you are looking for suspenseful spice romance book. This is it. But yeah I need the second book, it's a need by now.
I think I'm going crazy. This is actually really good. Even tho I got it for free for honest review. I'm not making this up. NGL I was doubting at first bc it's not what I usually read and it's kinda cheating but idk what happened but I ate this.
Just go read it and you'll love it.
I also heard this is author's debut. So, CONGRATULATIONS! I will be adding you to the calendar and count each day to the second book, because it's straight out evil not to end this.

Holy mother of Ghost. What did Maren put in this book! I was dragging my heals and didn’t want it to end. I’m OBSESSSSED with a fictional GHOST! and i’m not even sorry about it.
This story was dark and filthy. It had the perfect blend of plot and spice. Good cop bad cop why choose! This is a duet and is left on a cliff hanger. This Author did a brilliant job of bringing the characters to life and making you feel like you are apart of the story. I can’t wait for book two in the duet.

This is a dark stalker romance. I liked how the two MC’s meet, it was original and so normal. Mallory is no stranger to men treating her badly. When a masked man and a town cop shows up in her life the fire and backbone she used to have starts to ignite again.
The banter is total fire, I devoured it like cherry pie 😉. I was in love with getting to see how affected Mallory is by him. Usually we get a lot of how the man is obsessed and how hot the woman is, but this time I got the pleasure of seeing Mallory foaming at the mouth…it was a total treat. She likes the light and dark side of him. He makes her feel, which is often overlooked…being with someone that makes you feel. The true crime and trying to unravel the mystery in this book was so fun. I loved feeling like I was a detective in their world, it kept me on my toes and looking for clues within the pages. I knew this ending was coming, I knew it and somehow I was still not prepared enough…holy crap what a cliff hanger. I am dying for book 2 of this duet. This book was so good. The characters were well developed and have interesting stories. I loved them both and I do not often like FMC’s. The spice was hot and the dirty talk was fire. The suspense and mystery aspect was awesome.
Well I gotta go I’m suddenly craving barbecue. IYKYK 😂

Mallory’s parents have disappeared. She doesn’t know where and she doesn’t care to know. She is finally free from their abuse and settled in the home her step-father owned. Though she knows it has a history, with a brutal murder being committed within its walls, she finds it as the perfect place to start a new life. That is until she begins to notice someone in a Ghostface mask stalking her at night through her windows. Should she be afraid? Why is she excited by his presence? Will she ever find out who is behind the mask?
I cannot stop thinking about this story. The way Maren had me gasping when I found out who Ghost was! That was definitely unexpected in the best way. Then she adds another threat to the mix and I was devouring every word. I loved Mallory’s tenacity once she gained some of her courage back. This one is mother f'ing incredible. So many more stars than just five, If you are looking for a dark stalker romance with incredible banter, twists, mystery this one is it. Look no further because WOW WOW WOW. One chance encounter is all it takes for Ghost to become obsessed with his siren.
I love the horror feel of the story, it kept me on my toes. It made me have heartpalpitations, you can see something coming, but no matter what it still happens. It's so difficult to talk about because i don't want to spoil anything. You just have to read it, live it, love it for yourself.
The banter, the texts, the interactions, the scenery, the spice everything was just perfect, this is one of those books where you just want to become the character. Because for all the bad she endured, Ghost made it all better.

I wanted to love this book sooooo bad. The FMC loves ghostface. The MMC wore a ghost face mask. My fav movie ever is the scream series…. So this should have been my all time fave book. But I didn’t really have much about the book I liked. The spice was good. But, The writing didn’t feel genuine and the wording of how people spoke to eachother was grating for me.
I honestly hope everyone else who reads this book loves it, but it just wasn’t for me at all.

Grave Obsession

The two main characters' funny conversation will catch your attention right away, and you'll find yourself rooting for them because they're both really relatable.
Personally as a reader , there is Something about a disguised stalker/detective/unidentified serial killer that really gets me going. I like it and devour it.
I couldn't help but marvel throughout the story …Is he going to make a mistake is this when she will figures it out?
To say that this novel is suspenseful would be an understatement.
Since there was still so much to be revealed and I was only 92% of the way through the novel, I started to become anxious. However, I was astounded by how the author ended THIS story.
I continued on after the ending to read the acknowledgments and discover that the author has a network of all the people I like.
I foresee an unbreakable author-reader relationship developing in the future..
I mean that in the most creepy sense imaginable .. hahaha I’m kidding or am I?

I was able to read the upcoming release of this book, slated to be put out in mid September. All I can say is wow! This book had it all for me. Primal? Serial killer? Stalking? Filthy talking, tattooed, pierced dominant sexy hunk of a man? Yup to all. I really connected to Mallory and her feelings left by the traumatic upbringing she endured at the hands of her abusive parents, the feelings of not being enough, being broken, not being a good enough person worthy and deserving of the kind of romantic love being bestowed upon her. With the men in her life taking care of the needs she has, both from wanting the sweet and loving to the twisted and freeing, she is blossoming into who she has always wanted to be. I loved seeing her progression through the book and seeing the thoughts of the men admiring her through it. The protective, alpha, she is mine vibes were just right and the writing was very engaging and all encompassing. I highly recommend this book and I am anxiously awaiting the conclusion of this duet!!

Grave obsession had me hook, line, and sinker from the beginning. If you like ghost face, or the scream movies.. you undoubtedly have to read this book, but it’s much more than a book containing the mask of the ghost we all love, it’s thick with plot, rich with story, and hot on the spice
Firstly, Mallory, the FMC, reminded me a lot of myself, she’s been through a lot, and through the MMC she finds herself, he opens up a new world for her. She finds her confidence, and she shines brightly through the whole story.
Our MMC just had me drooling. If you take out the unaliving, man is he perfect. I don’t want to spoil anything. All I will say is, you need to meet him. You need to read this book.
I’m going to need therapy. Respectfully, the ending had me gripping my seat with audible gasping!! I can’t wait to see what comes next from Maren Riley!

I love how both Ghost and Lennox show Mallory she is able to be PROPERLY loved and not be used/abused. The way she seems to grow a bit stronger through the “play” 😉 her and Ghost play.
I was honestly hoping she’d figure it out when Lennox had to pick lock her door I was like YES THIS IS THE MOMENT but I’m honestly happy she didn’t put it together
This is my SECOND 5/5⭐️, I don’t hand them out lightly because I have certain things that need to be checked off. And Grave Obsession did it
