As Volume 3 in the Web Surfer Series, this is a great educational and fun resource for pre-school through 12th grade students. This will turn your Kindle into an educational web surfer. Without this tool, using the Kindle for browsing the web can be daunting. This tool includes an exhaustive collection of links to over 300 unique educational websites. The collection of web site links are laid out nicely with the table of contents used to provide them in nineteen educational categories for simple navigation. All of the websites are also listed in an alphabetical index, so if you don’t know what category a site is listed under, you can quickly find it in the index. Where available, mobile sites have been provided, so that they will fit on the Kindle and other mobile devices. For most of the non-mobile websites, links have been provided to the sites through another website that makes them fit on the Kindle and other small devices, so that you don’t have to use the zoom functions to view most websites. For each site, a narrative is included, describing what the website contains, with information about accessing the site on the Kindle or other small devices, and the age/grade appropriateness of the site when appropriate. This isn’t a mere list of websites; it is an extensive resource of almost 100 Kindle pages, depending on your settings.Quick-Links are included on the first page to make them quickly accessible. The Quick-Links are for the most frequent functions.The numerous search engines listed will only return websites deemed safe and suitable for children. Three additional search engines are included that return only mobile websites, which are very helpful for finding versions of websites that fit on small screens. Some websites are included that need to be accessed on a computer. These helpful websites were included for those that have Kindle on their computers, to take advantage of these great educational sites. Most of these sites are listed under the category, Fun on Your Computer. Additional sites are listed under the educational categories, and the narratives indicate that they must be accessed by a computer.
