Stricken by a deadly virus, the ancient Kemet warriors fled to our world and lived among us in secret.
Ahmose
A powerful warrior has been asleep for a century due to the loss of his wife. When he awakens in a cold, metal box and escapes into the dark sea, he finds himself face-to-face with Rachael, a heartbroken woman, on a solo trip to Sardinia after being dumped by her boyfriend.
Rachael
Rachael’s "man-hate" vacation takes a turn when she discovers Ahmose in her bed—an alluring stranger with a mysterious past and dangerous enemies.
As passion ignites between them, they must evade the darkness chasing them and find out if love can bloom amidst the chaos.
What can you look forward to...
An irritated millennial + An Ancient "in love" God = A trip from hell that ends with love.
If you enjoy a quick lunch read with spice and a BW fmc that makes you laugh, this is for you.
As I dived into this book I begin to realize that the synopsis caught my eye, but it was the author’s literal passages and scenes that caught me by surprise and made me realize this is not going to be a quick read. It had adventure, love, passion, finding one’s true self and realizing that the old and the new can work together.
I enjoyed this book for the most part. It was an easy and interesting plot to follow, and the characters were likable enough. I like that their wasn't too much tension between the couple, and it focused more on the storyline.
With that being said, there were way too many grammatical errors. I found myself having to reread things to understand what was supposed to be written.
I also wish we got more of a look into Rachael and Ahmose after the conflict was resolved.
Interesting plot/concept. The world building (including characterization and dialogue) is severely lacking. The motivation behind the evil villain was questionable. I literally went WHAT THE ACTUAL FUDGE. And yes there were typos and errors. Lara Croft became Laura Croft.😒
This book was pretty good. Some of the things Rachel would say or think had me laughing out loud. I look forward to reading the next book, I'm sure Grant will just as annoying in the next book. Well Done Ms. Keen
I love this book. I hope there is a series to this book. I read Diablo, but it isn't available to read anymore. Ray and Ahmose were perfect for each other.
